curious anon here! I've noticed that you usually have nielan (in canon-verse setting) living apart part time instead of staying together all the time, and would really love to hear your thoughts behind that decision.

Hi anon! To be honest, I just can't see either Lan Xichen or Nie Mingjue leaving their respective sects for more than a few months at a time. Plus, I feel that neither of them would do particularly well as permanent members of each other's clans; and they do get to spend two months out of every three together, so they make it work. :)
