Every defence of AI art I’ve seen has been so weak. And also seemingly running on the assumption that people who draw are gatekeeping the act of art making? That’s not how any of this works. If you have creative ideas then nothing is stopping you from putting pen to paper and getting it out, and I guarantee that any slightly crooked looking piece of art made by a new artist will fulfil the vision you’ve had more than anything generated by a computer with a prompt

#don’t get me wrong I find the actual computing process quite interesting #because science and stuff #but the implication that ai makes art accessible when art has always been accessible?#sure you’re not going to be van gogh o'keefe or Rembrandt in your first five minutes #unless you’re a level of prodigic previously unknown to man #but the skill is there to be built and no one can ever take that from you #and it’s so fulfilling to see your growth #and it’s never too late to start and you don’t have to practice all the time to improve #sure it helps but people have lives and don’t have time to practice regularly #and that’s fine
