I had a dream two nights ago, that Neku Sakuraba was let out of the Reapers' Game after his second Week of it. But, like, everyone else had still been left to their terrible fates: Shiki, I guess, was sort of in a limbo like state, since I guess Neku didn't win the Game at the end of his Week 2 (and thus couldn't be given his Entry Fee back), but was just let out, and she obviously couldn't be his Entry Fee anymore since he wasn't playing at the moment (she was probably being kept unconscious somewhere by Kitaniji or something)... Joshua was still dead as far as Neku was aware... Rhyme was still Erased (actually still a Squirrel Noise, but Neku didn't know that)... Beat was still a Reaper... Nao and Sota were still Erased, etc.

And, like, a large part of Neku in this dream did want to go back into the Game to try and help his friends, and felt super guilty about everything. But he was also understandably scared, and thought that this may be his one chance to get out, and maybe he shouldn't waste it?

(I feel like this was, of course, another part of Joshua's test for him, but I'm not entirely sure. My dream wasn't entirely clear on that.)

In particular, Neku missed Shiki...

Anyway, Neku ended up deciding that if he was going to risk his tail for his friends again, he wanted to make sure that it was worth it, and that he had a better idea of what he was doing.

I want to say that he ended up going to college and exploring the human condition?--because he wanted more proof that people's individual lives were worth it--but I'm not sure about that. Like, would he really have had time to enroll and stuff? Maybe he just convinced some professors to talk to him, and whatnot. And I think they ended up talking about souls? Like, this is where I've started to forget parts of my dream... but I think one professor's idea about souls was similar to what those in the Game knew about them.

At this point, knowing everything he needed to (and I think it's months later now), Neku decided that he'd go back into the Game to try and save Shiki and Beat, and everyone. And I think this is where I woke up. LOL
