This unique Hamsa with The Star of David and the Hand of Protection, handmade in Essaouira, Morocco, is absolutely stunning! The Hamsa body appears to be cast 800 Silver (80% silver content) which was then hand finished and stamped with a pattern. The stamped Hamsa then received a Star of David, which was cast in 92.5 Sterling Silver, and soldered on to the 800 Silver base. As Passover begins, I just had to share this beautiful Hamsa from mid 20th Century Morocco with a Dove's head making up the thumb. Purchased by Brian from a Moroccan dealer who spent his youth in Essaouira, a city known for its large important community of Jewish silversmiths. These silversmiths catered to both the Jewish and Muslim community and as such you'll see Judaic, Islamic and Kabbalah influences in their hamsa designs.
