whenever i tell someone i study political science they pull a little face and go "... oh do you... do you like that?" and it's so complicated because yes i do. i genuinely love political science + learning more about it + expanding my knowledge and skillset through it However i think i just heavily fuck with Fucking Around and Finding Out as a concept. which is what academia/university is all about truly. some days i lament my decision not to go into english literature because i think i would equally fuck with that as well. or history and archeology was also a department i could have gone into and i think i would have liked it also. but i love political science and studying it very much. and i did not even want to be here, i wanted to get into law but i'm grateful for not passing every single day because most of it would just be memorising stuff whereas polsci demands you be critical and form your own opinion. this rant has been mostly pointless however it saddens me seeing people who i know must have Busted their Asses during the panhellenics get into prestigious departments and becoming shells of themselves and being like "yeah... i don't like it that much but it's ok" with that forced smile betraying they probably consider it the worst mistake of their lives. anyway

my presentation went great btw the professor said i did a great work extracting the right amount of information from the book plus he and all my classmates thanked me for going through the effort of making a handout

trying to study sooo so hard but im so tired from waking up early today and yesterday as well + 9am-3pm classes + absolutely EXHAUSTING bus ride home but i sorely want to get at least two chapters out of the way first (at least the introductory ones about absolutism in the East). i'm going to a study date tomorrow so i know i'll get a lot of stuff done there so i'm not going to push myself too much
