this is an objectively incorrect opinion but seeing ppl insert achilles and patroclus into like. incorrect quote posts and the most disconnected aus never fails to make me take a deep breath and read homer just to cancel it out

#like. madeline miller’s book? FANTASTIC. she was a classics scholar and put so much hard work and research into that #unfortunately it has led to the blorbofication of these ancient characters #(which is fine i’m just a classics major and am frustrated that ppl will not put an iota of energy into actually reading the source)#but everyone should do whatever they want to and it rlly doesn’t matter <3 i like to imagine the vergil throwing up and crying about it tho #‘the vergil’ hello… vergil my guy
