Additional lore from the novel

Now not everyone considers novelization’s cannon, which is a real shame as they add on a ton to the film. Especially ones made back in the day as they’re A lot closer to the script etc.

Here’s a bunch of stuff from the novelization I either shared (or haven’t) that made me lose my mind. Between lore, world building and extra bits of characterization. I love learning more about this world and oh boy does the book do that

Tron is a hope symbol and champion long before he’s free or defeats the MCP. He has managed to survive in the games for so long without breaking - he hasn’t lost and never gave up his faith. This program is that little bit of hope for all the user-believers captured or otherwise.

Encom is already a mega corporation in 1982- like the MCP takes systems, it gobbles up smaller tech companies. It’s actually hard to pinpoint what they actually *do* there besides “everything”

Tron has a slew of trauma from his time in captivity, both from being worked into a killing machine and from the isolation the cells can bring (it’s also made clear that the schedules of working them through the games lead to socialization, both being in cells to talk is very little)

The MCP controls the color of circuits and how a program presents them. The spectrum is limited to Blue user believers and Red elite. As well as the patterns being much more natural and flowy, but made so harsh under his regime.

The novel shows us a lot about power , the transfer of it as both an act of love and a life Source. By restricting it to such an extent half the population is essentially zombie worker drones without much function- they move and communicate but there’s no thought behind any of it. With warriors there’s just enough given to them to keep going, to fight but not much else there either. It also goes into how it can be transferred to save another’s life or… uhhhhh other reasons. (These two acts are different and very specialized, you have to have intent so transfer is not inherently sexual)

Circuits are described by Flynn to look almost like acupuncture lines… sensitive circuits confirmed? (There you go nsfw tronblr lmao)

Circuits are moodrings! But they’re also a show of power level. As when we first see Yori as an automated worker she’s extremely dim.

Yori was a premier design coordinator before the takeover, like Lora she’s high ranked and undisplayable at her job.

Confirmed! Game grid is not part of the main computer and is in “another domain” considering how the Crom/Flynn match showed up on a bus station’s game machine. It is a massive area. (Opens the potential of games across the country being used in the gladitorial style)

I think it is so cute how JLS hides from the cameras. But I also adore how everyone close to them avoids posting anything that can be remotely used as evidence for a relationship. Well, except for Jaina (but that greece video kind of flew under the radar from anyone who isn't as obsessed as we are)

Can you even imagine the fandom shitstorm and media frenzy undisplayable conformation of a relationship would cause? However much I would love see them be happy in public, I understand the need to keep quiet.

It’s very endearing on so many levels. I think he’s just a really low-key guy who loves to act. It’s what he’s good at and it’s his passion, and the extra stuff that comes with it he could give or take on. He said he’s a big home body, loves routine and structure in that interview…. He seems like just a really down to earth and normal guy for someone who’s successful. I would say the same thing about Tracy, and truly from how Luce talked about them last week, they are just really really great people. There’s a reason people are fans of them. So him not wanting to be in pictures, it makes sense. I also think that sometimes things that have happened in the past didn’t go over well and it’s better to just not have certain things out there at times.

I am forever grateful to Jaina for that video. My laird, October 7 will forever be a day that goes down in history in my fandom head. I won’t speculate too much because I don’t know them personally - but I would imagine that Jaina more or less had approval to post what she did. I don’t think they were blindsided by what she shared. I think things are, for lack of a better term, looser since he’s not longer on the show, but they still like to keep things close to the vest.

There are normal fans (the ones on instagram who make comments asking about them and make me laugh because… you know) and then there are fans that are knee deep in the dumpster diving for whatever. Sometimes I wish I were a casual fan and could consume media in a normal fashion, but this makes life fun and interesting. They owe us nothing, ever, so I am grateful for whatever content we get in any capacity.

I’m not one of those people that like. takes an odd sadistic pleasure in making character’s I like suffer but I think seeing characters display the highest levels of certain emotions they have is great. I want to project indescribable/undisplayable feelings I’d never show anyone else onto them

I spent most of today gripped by anger and an intense desire to shoot myself in the face in such a manner that would render my corpse undisplayable. I worked slowly and unsteadily throughout the afternoon, and I plan on working through the night as well.

Today after waiting hours on the phone and then started editing a video I took the opportunity to go to the Natural History Museum to checkout the “Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon” exhibition. My tummy was a bit queasy but I pressed on. I had visited the Natural History Museum some time back for a party DJed by Daedalus. It was swingin! Once I made it to the museum I eventually found the House of the Dragon exhibition. I waited in line. Chatted up the locals waiting to enter and muse about the HOBmax premiere I shot. The guy next to set up the exhibit and gave me the DL on set up. The dragon head comes in 3 parts and it’s really heavy. The throne came in multiple parts too but is compose of an unexpected variety of materials. I undisplayable be hitting other museum across the country over the coming months. Release Tomorrow (later today)!

I had a great week. I fixed bugs in drag-select, an undisplayable tag, some autocomplete result weirdness, and logical problems that were causing some grandparents and siblings not to appear in the new virtual system; I fleshed out some maintenance modes and added better autocomplete lookups in manage tags; and I sped up several autocomplete, sibling, parent, and general tag routines.

The release should be as normal tomorrow, maybe a little late.

Why was the confederate flag never banned?

In Germany and Austria the Nazi flag is illegal to have or display. Why is it not at the very least undisplayable by law? Ok have one in your house it's a free country, whatever prick, but display it in public whether on a flagpole, a home, a vehicle, or on one's social media account, and face charges of public indecency. RESPECT THE STARS AND STRIPES!!!!
