immortal insufferable paternalistic authoritarian/purist(?) treats a subordinate of his own kind like a teenage daughter and disapproves of said subordinate's romantic partnership with someone from a similarly immortal but shapeshifting race that the authoritarian looks down on

said partnership in the previous bullet specifically involves Michael Sheen, who promptly gets emotionally tormented in both cases

crucial interactions between the authoritarian and the subordinate involve drinking something (blood/coffee)

all of the actors here were in an Underworld movie and none of their characters in the franchise survived past at most two

...WAIT waitwaitwaitwait in a werewolf and vampire au, jayce is the reason why viktor's a vampire >:D

jayce is aware of viktor and one of the things he knows about viktor is his scent so he's confused when viktor starts smelling different. when there's the smell of sickness starting in viktor's scent and jayce thinks it's just a sickness that will pass so his stomach plummets when viktor tells him about it. no, that can't be true, this sickness will pass, it has to!

but it doesn't. the smell of sickness overtakes viktor's scent, blood and rot and that's-that's not fair. viktor is young and brilliant, he's supposed to have his whole life in front of him and jayce is supposed to be w/ him for the rest of their lives

and when viktor is in his last legs, in the tight squeeze of his illness when jayce is attuned to his exhaustion and weakness, jayce hears of a doctor in the undercity who... has different means of healing people. and jayce shouldn't, jayce should let viktor die, should help him prepare for his funeral and his will but jayce can't. viktor will not die. he goes to singed

singed looks at him and takes him in. sees the desperation in jayce's eyes and in the line of his body and in the shake of his hands. and singed knows that it's love that brought jayce to his knees in front of him. and when jayce says viktor? singed has a guess on who that is.

it is love that makes one a monster, it is love that makes one turn their beloved into a monster. and really, this thing is useless to singed. and really, jayce will take responsibility for viktor, will care for him still. he has promised, he has made a vow.

singed gives jayce two vials, one is filled with blood and the other a poison. jayce is furious abt the poison and singed tells him that this is the only way that the blood will work. jayce shakily accepts and goes back to viktor

jayce turns the vials over in his mind. he doesn't want to hurt viktor, doesn't want to kill him because what if it doesn't work after all? if viktor dies, this is all for nothing. but then he sits by viktor's bedside, listens to his slow breathing and weak, fluttering heart and his scent that is now only blood and sickness and rot and. he had to do it, he has to

jayce goes to make viktor a mug of sweetmilk slipping the poison into it. when viktor wakes up, jayce helps him up and gives it to him. he listens closely when it takes it effect. listens to viktor's breathing and heart slow, listens to him sigh as he holds his hand. then jayce gives him the blood. viktor dies, viktor dies because jayce has killed him, viktor dies because jayce has killed him. and jayce is certain that if this doesn't work, he'll rip that doctor apart with his bare hands

and wonder of wonders, horror of horrors, it works. viktor wakes up and he is changed. his heart has stopped beating but his eyes are clear, unclouded by grief and hopelessness and pain, and he rises from his bed with such ease that it just might drive jayce mad. viktor's wonders what he is and jayce can only say, breathless and relieved and in tears, alive.

(when viktor realizes what he is, he is horrified. but jayce isn't because he promised didn't he? that he'd take care of viktor. jayce will feed him. and when viktor leaves? jayce goes after him. jayce chases him down, he is the source of viktor's blood, the source of viktor's monstrosity and as viktor is jayce's, jayce is viktor's. now and forever)

If only in season 3 Klaus told Reggie about Ben's funeral from the end of season 1

Klaus: *talks about Ben's funeral*well, you made some kind of speech

Reggie: wow well i guess i said i was really sorry about his death. So right?

Also Reggie's real speech at the funeral: society sees death every day. Ben died because of you worthless trash and you all guilty for his death.
