alright, first post!

i don't really know what to put here so im just gonna drop the brickbattler/undertale comic ive been working on

the premise is pretty basic: after swagman pwns shotgunman and dopegirl activates the time machine, the two go in, but the time machine massively malfunctions and sends them to the undertale universe

here's the first two parts, ill probably update every few days

im starting to have doubts about continuing the underbattler comic. now that i'm thinking about it, it just doesn't seem like that creative of an idea anymore, especially since a lot of my fanfics (which i havent really talked about) revolve around the idea of the main character(s) finding their way into another universe and trying to escape while making friends and enemies along the way. i could've at least done something more creative with it.

i don't want this to be just another project i end up abandoning. i want the underbattler comic to at least mean something. but i'm not sure it's worth it to keep going anymore.

also, the underbattler comic will be discontinued now. i never really liked the comic and making a comic is way more effort than i thought it was. i miiiiight continue it later when i spontaneously have more motivation but it's not super likely. im still gonna leave up the underbattler comic pages in the masterpost in case anyone cares.

here is the long-awaited hysteriatale update - everyone give a warm welcome to papyrus, the mascot of hysteriatale!

a few fun facts about papyrus:

-the star in his eye spins based on his emotions (extreme happiness: spins really fast; extreme sadness: completely stops). if he's super excited and happy, his star will actually glow, and if he's completely miserable or in a serious moment, it may disappear entirely

-papyrus was the first character i fully developed for hysteriatale and oh boy did he look different

-papyrus is the one to judge you in the judgement corridor, not sans

-papyrus is also the final boss of hysteriatale's geno route (known officially as the factory route) and he is RIDICULOUSLY powerful. you have to psychologically crush him in order to actually beat him

backstory below the cut!

back when the happy meat was first developed, sans encouraged papyrus to stay back and observe its effects. he wanted to make sure that papyrus was safe from it, since he knew his brother was prone to addictions. this worked for a while... until it didn't.

papyrus and sans, along with a few other townsfolk, started getting bullied and downright harassed for refusing to taste it. papyrus's battle body was completely torn up by the townsfolk attacking him. one day, when a greedy salesman arrived, selling the meat at a cheap price, papyrus finally caved and bought the happy meat.

he kept this secret for quite a while, though sans quickly picked up on his new strange behaviors. in addition to the sudden mutations that the meat gave him, he was also acting quite differently. he was hyperactive and completely manic most of the time, and his depressive episodes were quite rare thanks to sans being around.

but over time, sans became distant. he spent more and more time at grillby's, drowning his sorrows with cheap booze. papyrus is deeply afraid of being alone, and wanted his brother back.

so, one day, papyrus served him breakfast - homemade spaghetti and meatballs, this time with a different ingredient: happy meat. when sans first tasted it and papyrus mentioned the new recipe, he asked what was in it... to which papyrus replied, "happy meat."

at that point, sans snapped.

before he knew it, papyrus felt the beam of a gaster blaster right in his face, and retaliated out of instinct. the two were heavily injured, and sans soon packed his things, paid his tab, and left... leaving papyrus alone.

papyrus eventually made a new friend: pewter, a young and playful monster based on an arctic fox. pewter kept his mental health in check, and truthfully, he was the only thing keeping papyrus sane at that point. papyrus still frequently called his brother, but soon enough, sans stopped answering. at several points in time, papyrus had attempted to quit happy meat in the hopes of getting his brother back, to no avail. the loneliness is still eating him alive, and despite his attempts to shove down his emotions, deep down, he knows he's miserable.

if only someone could help him...

i think im definitely going to end up slowing down a bit on the underbattler comic, whether i want to or not lol

in the meantime ill try to post more hysteriatale updates since there's been very few of them, might even make a comic or two lol

the next hysteriatale character revealed will most likely be sans, and at some point i'll probably edit papyrus's character sheet and add more stuff to it

there's probably gonna be a delay on the next underbattler comic, because i still need to figure out how to draw toriel. in the meantime, im gonna drop more hysteriatale stuff for yall
