“Oh your look is so cute, and that barrette is adorable.” Miriam’s feeling social, enough that she’s struck up about four different conversations this morning, with this poor soul being the next in line for her chatty small talk. Short hair is fun, she finds, and really, Miriam doesn’t understand some people’s aversion to it. Things have been so much more freeing since she gave herself a bob, and so, seeing someone else with a similar look brings a gleam to her eyes. 

“Do you cut your hair yourself, or does someone do it for you? I do my own, but uh, you can kind of tell. Your’s is pretty neat, so I wouldn’t be surprised if someone does it for you.” A pause, before Miriam seems to snap to. “Oh hell, sorry. If I’m talking your ear off. Are you busy? I don’t want to keep you.”

Well now, this is interesting, isn’t it? Although Jack’s a little surprised to find that they’re in control at the moment, a look of their surroundings helps key them in as to why. Whatever, a little darkness is nothing to them, so if Miss Gloom and Doom wants to sulk for now, she can. No skin off their back, they’re fine with just keeping an eye on things; get an idea of things that aren’t communicated through sparse notes. 

Some kind of luck must be on their side to be in such intriguing company too— not the most interesting to tease, but whatever. Stranger reminds them of a fleeting memory; so maybe that’s the real reason why little miss morose seems so despondent right now. That said, even if she has an appeal to them, Jack’s hardly in the mood to babysit. “Y’know, the fact that you can light up doesn’t mean shit.” A useful ability given how dark this place is, sure, but not if they run into something, ‘safety’ scissors dangling from their fingers as they contemplate this fact. ( Safe is a word that probably doesn’t accurately describe their current weapon of choice, given that they’ve been pulled apart, akin to a pair of daggers ) “I’m not saving your ass if something swoops in on you just because you’ve decided to make yourself a shiny beacon, m’kay? Game over and that’s it. No stupid stunts.” Granted, they would consider most of other people’s actions stupid. Although Jack would definitely nab whatever they need and run for it— or, well, that’s what they’d like, but she won’t be happy if alter does that, so begrudgingly, some part of them acknowledges they will help out if they need to.

“So we just have to go and get some stuff, right? That doesn’t seem too hard. Just stick close to me and when we see it, I’ll hold ‘em off while you gather it up. Sound fair?”

Though, anyone in their right mind who saw Zoro would think he wouldn’t be able to hold anything off, given that he was just holding a plastic kitchen knife. He didn’t even know who he was talking to, the girl just happened to be on her way to...well, somewhere. It wasn’t as though he knew where he was going.

       a scowl stretches across his features as he practically stomps along, a clear i don’t want to be here aura radiating off of him. normally, he’d mind his own business, sit back and just nature take its course... but he isn’t surrounded by adults that can take care of themselves and even shittier ones that’d screw everyone else over if they could survive. aoi can be a prick, but he’s not heartless ( though, he did wish people had common sense: ex. the girl he’s so keen on not letting out of his sight ). ❝ if this shit doesn’t work, i’m expecting you to haul ass, got it ? ❞ // @ulti1up
