Thanks @alintheshitposter for tagging me 💕
Share your wallpaper: this picture, because Flint 🥰 (also the added benefit of Silver, Billy AND Joji being in the background)
Last song you listened to: Just put on ASP’s “Requiem” because it makes for surprisingly good studying music and that’s what I should actually be doing at the moment.
Currently reading: still Ursula Le Guin’s The Dispossessed, also James Oswald’s Natural Causes and on and off sneaking in a few pages of V for Vendetta
Last movie you watched: uuuuh I think it was The Best Days of Our Lives for class.
Craving: chili con carne. And also someone to just [redacted].
What are you wearing right now: blue jeans, black long sleeve, nothing interesting sadly
How tall are you: 1,72m? 1,73m? somewhere around there
Piercings: two in each ear, have been dying to get an industrial for literal years, might finally get around to it this year, because more hours at work=more money I can actually spend?
Tattoos: a simplified version of ASP’s black butterfly logo on my back
Glasses? Contacts? Glasses. Used to wear contacts almost exclusively for work a couple years back but too much hassle honestly
Last drink: coffee.
Last thing I ate: off-brand oreos
Last show: ...Tatort.
Favourite colour: black, but also dark green/blue/purple/red
Current obsession: Tatort Berlin (Karow specifically), unfortunately
Unrelated obsession: I think at this point DDF has stopped being an obsession and become a character trait
Any pets: nope.
Do you have a crush on anyone: do fictional characters count?
Favourite fictional characters: right now? Cotta and Karow, but Milo Sturgis, Sebastian Moran, Marcus Keane, and James Flint are also always somewhere at the top of the list
The last place you travelled: some Kuhkaff in Sachsen-Anhalt over easter because my mum decided we had to have a family vacation (it was... nice. but also very firmly just “nice”.)
i’m tagging @bistdueinbaum, @auxiliarydetective, @takealookintheback & @autumncalls (as always, only if you want!)

I just gotta say- I usually don't like established relationship fics (Even if it's just like friends) because it always feels like you're... missing something. There's a detachment for me, usually, because I don't get to see how this relationship is formed. Not really. I miss those first glances, the awkward meetings, just all that fluff and yearning as the relationship develops that I guess my heart craves?
But you write in a way that includes that, like the scene in your latest piece where reader is laying on the couch, thinking of all the happy memories and such that have happened in that space. It's a very fine line between telling and showing that you dance immaculately, so it doesn't feel like exposition... because it really isn't? It fills that craving for seeing how the relationship is forming even without the events unfolding directly in front of my eyes. I don't know how else to explain it, just... it's good. It's really, really good. You did the same thing in Euclidean Line, if I remember correctly (God I'm really feeling the urge to reread that one), where there was... sort of a montage, for lack of a better word? When Donnie and reader (don't know what else to call them) were getting closer outside of their meet-ups. Usually I hate time-skips or the author explaining something that I'd really rather just read, but you do it in a way that makes it feel like you're not missing too much, there's still just a bit left to the imagination. I'm sure it's for time's sake/not wanting the fic to drag, something like that? But it's hard to come across an author that does it so well and I appreciate it so much. I swear, I need to start taking notes on the little subtleties of your writing because just. Ugh. I really want to be able to explain myself better it's just good!!
Can't wait to read literally whatever you put out next!! You're one of few authors where it doesn't matter what you're writing, I'll read it anyways. I really wasn't a huge fan of bayverse until I saw you writing the turtles (Among a few others) now I uh. Might have to go back and watch those movies again.
But eat food, drink water, and I hope your wrists are nice to you!! Mine have been sensitive lately so it's more on the forefront of my mind, I haven't seen you mention it so I've just been hoping things have been better on that side for you. I hope you can get some good sleep too, even when you're able to write through it I still kinda worry!! Like I know you're a fully capable adult but. So am I and insomnia is ass, so... yeah I just hope things go well for you!!
it's funny you should say that, as for the longest time, i Hated putting time skips in my writing. abhorred it. would do it as little as possible. because there's so much characterization you can squeeze out of the smallest details, right? like, when they wake up. what do they do? do they drink coffee? tea? how do they take their coffee? do they get dressed before or after breakfast?
but there's an amount of characterization that becomes... excessive. like, sure, the character feels more like an actual person because of this. but does it serve the fic? i balk at the traditional writing advice that "every sentence must progress the plot," because i love basking in seemingly unimportant moments; but i do think there's truth to a modified version of that thought. "every detail must serve the fic."
take symphony, for example. in the first chapter, i go into detail on what viola-chan includes in her apology bags for her neighbors. at first glance, it could seem like a small list of that doesn't really add anything to the character. it certainly doesn't add anything to the plot. and yet, you learn a lot of what she values, what things she sees as important. she has a hobby (two homemade cookies), she doesn't like pain (ibuprofen), she's comfortable financially (the gift card for coffee), she Will practice even though it's annoying to hear (the ear plugs), but she's also kind enough to bend those rules for extenuating circumstances (her phone number, so you can call and ask her to take a break "if you have a baby or something"). it's an efficient way to get across a lot of character development, even though it feels like an unnecessary detail.
learning to balance how much you can skip and how much you should include for your desired amount of characterization is something that comes with experience, and it's something that comes down to taste. as you noted, i like to include things from skips that make them seem Less like a skip, and more like things you didn't see but still know about. this works for established relationships, too. how did they get together? well, maybe that's not so important. but a little hint of it is enough to show that it's real, that it's an event that happened, even if you the reader don't explicitly see it. there are many people who would find my writing excessively detailed, which is fine, as i would find theirs excessively barren. as with most things in art, it's largely subjective.
anyway, too-long answer aside, so glad you're enjoying and thank you so much for your thoughtful message :D

13: Do you hate anyone at the moment? 26: What are you craving right now? 40: Have you ever walked outside completely naked? 70: Is there anyone you would die for?
yooo, you even included the q's in the ask, that's handy :)
uhh this went long so read more
13: Do you hate anyone at the moment? you know, I'd like to say no, but the other day I accidentally tripped over some seething rage I had all bundled up somewhere, and I've been passingly mad when I think about it from time to time since then. I've made a lot of bad decisions in schooling, but when I was still new and fresh to uni and actually a good student, I got into Japanese and they brought up the study abroad opportunity. A semester in japan, being paid to be there, while going to school there and stuff? it was an incredible opportunity and it looked like I was gonna be able to go -- I jumped through all the hoops. as the deadline approached, I checked in and discovered that there was only a single component missing -- one of my letters of recommendation hadn't been submitted yet. I checked in with the prof, and she was like, yeah I'll get to it no sweat. deadline approaches closer and I bug her more and more about it, like, uh, hey, I kinda need that next week, by Friday? it's in three days? PLEASE, it's TOMORROW. but on the submit forum, it has a deadline written on the doc, and that's the deadline for the uni to send the paperwork, NOT the deadline that the uni had established for all the paperwork being turned in. so despite my continual clear and desperate pleas, she straight-out didn't believe me about the deadline. about two weeks after the deadline she told me "I tried to drop it off but they said the deadline was two weeks ago?" and it's like.. yeah.. as I told you, many times, both in email and in person... I couldn't go because you didn't do it on time........
I think about it a lot. It was prolly a turning point of sorts for me. a semester abroad would've invigorated me and I very well mightta succeeded all the way through uni. instead I started ditching more, taking things less seriously, failing a few classes. failing a lot of classes. dropping out. starting because one person thought I was like, lying about the deadline being earlier, and putting it off to the last minute.. but eh. could be that my course was gonna end that way either way tbh, could just be coincidental timing. I'm back in uni now to finish it up, so as long as I don't fuck it up this time......
26: What are you craving right now? aaah just some time with my friends and girlfriend, I've been busy lately and wish I could just take a day off and go catch a movie or play a game or something..
40: Have you ever walked outside completely naked? well, I'm sure I did as a kid yeah, but not in recent memory. I did go outside wearing nothing but shorts quite recently, but it was the dead of night and pouring rain, I doubt anyone saw me. my chest is really very hairy so I'm a bit self-conscious of being observed unless it's like a pool or beach or something. naked is out of the question :p
70: Is there anyone you would die for? not to be dramatic, but absolutely yeah. I have so many friends and coworkers that have such promising futures, if a gunman were to threaten them, I would 100% take a bullet for them.
thank you for the ask, TNT !! you triggered some Lore with that first one, sorry for the lengthy answer :p

the MINTerview (an interview with Sonic the Hedgehog)
Tumblr media
Q: Morning! How are you, lovely to have you here.
A: Hey Mint, I'm doing great.
Q: Do you know why you're here?
A: You wanna ask me a few questions or something, right?
Q: Yep, that's basically it.
A: Any reason why?
Q: I'm profiling all my friends.
A: Yeah, any reason why?
Q: ...A friend inspired me. Now, I have some questions tailored specifically for you, if you can't answer them - that's fine - if you can answer them - you know, it's better - Alright?
A: Sounds good to me.
Q: You wanna introduce yourself first?
A: I'm Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog!
Q: *laughing* Cool! What's your favourite colour and why?
A: Red. It's nice, it's cool, and it looks great on me.
Q: Great. What's your favourite food and why?
A: Chilli dogs, they're the best after a long run.
Q: Oh, those gross things with the sauce on top?
A: "Gross"?!
Q: Oh, sorry! Maybe I misunderstood what it was!
A: They're hot dogs with chilli sauce on top.
Q: ...They sound charming. Maybe I should try them again.
A: Next time I'm craving one I'll get one for you, how about that?
Q: Okay. Um, where was I... Oh yes, Who do you consider your friends?
A: Tails, obviously. Knuckles. Amy. I guess Blaze?
Q: Who's Blaze?
A: Oh right, you haven't met her. She's the Princess of the Sol Dimension.
Q: Oh wow. Sorry, continue.
A: Right... I think that's it, unless I count Shadow.
Q: Oh, you're also friends with Shadow?
A: Ehh. Allies at most.
Q: Shame. He's really very nice once you get to know him.
A: Ooh.
Q: Hm?
A: Look at you, smiling when you mention him.
Q: Shadow? No. He's nice, but he's not interested in me.
A: Aw.
Q: Not in a romantic way, just... In general. He's tolerant of me at best.
A: Hm. What're the other questions?
Q: Yes, uh- Where were you born, if you can remember?
A: Christmas Island. Boring. Nothing happened there.
Q: How did you obtain your abilities? In your case, you know, the ability to run at the speed of sound.
A: Training. Lots of running in my youth. Chilli dogs.
Q: That's it? No experimentation or anything, you're just fast?
A: Yuh huh.
Q: Cool. What was your first impression of me?
A: You hurt.
Q: Pardon?
A: You fell on me, remember? In the Casino Park Zone?
Q: Oh right, when Rouge dropped me.
A: You need to have a better landing.
Q: We're working on it. What do you, right now, regard as your fondest memory?
A: ...Can't remember how many years ago it was, must've been younger, but me and Tails were just chilling out. He was in the Tornado, I was flying next to him in Super form, it was nice; going over the ocean, feeling undefeatable. Immediately afterwards, Knuckles punched the Chaos Emeralds out of me really hard, and that kind of stunk, but that moment before was really nice.
Q: It sounds lovely.
A: It was. Uh- Where were we?
Q: Would you describe yourself as introverted or extroverted?
A: Ambiverted.
Q: Why?
A: I like people, but you know, gets a little awkward when everyone's looking at you cause you're Sonic the Hedgehog™. I only really enjoy my friends' company, you know? They appreciate me for me and not cause I'm the fastest thing alive.
Q: What is the best thing someone can compliment you on?
A: Hm. I'm fine with just speed in general, but I'm me, of course people are gonna go "Wow you're fast" and stuff. I'm not actually sure about that one! Maybe something new for me. I guess being told I'm good at something I've never done before would make me happy.
Q: Well, I think you're very good at being interviewed.
A: Thanks.
*Beat.*
Q: Are you happy?
A: I'm fine, why?
Q: No reason. Uh, one more question and then I'll be out of your quills.
A: Shoot.
Q: Is a hot dog a sandwich?
A: ...What?
Q: Is a hot dog a sandwich?
A: ...Why is this so much harder than the other questions you gave me?
Q: It is hard, isn't it?
A: Uh... No?
Q: No? Why's that?
A: I- I dunno. It's only got one piece of bread, doesn't it? I thought sandwiches had at least two.
Q: Hm. Thanks, Sonic! See you around sometime!
A: You're welcome, Mint.

yay!!! i got the infamous "tag post" 🥰🥰🥰 so blessed. thank you @callibones
last song: currently listening to My Ordinary Life by The Living Tombstone. When I first saw callie's tag, though, I was listening to Pressure by Billy Joel.
last movie: Knives Out. Yeah, I know, I put it off for a while, but surprisingly I got basically 0 spoilers. AMAZING movie, I love it so much. Can't wait to watch Glass Onion!
currently watching: rewatching The Boys with my roommate! Just started season 2. Hughie so squishable. Violently
currently reading: not reading anything right now, but I'll start reading Be Kind My Neighbor very soon! Callie convinced me to buy the book. Made by the same creator as Smile For Me, which i played recently, and ADORED. These next few months are shaping up to be Callie Immersion Season apparently. I am technically still reading Hitchhiker's Guide book 3 (Life The Universe And Everything) though. I stopped reading a few months ago and just forgot to pick it back up, I think I'm somewhere halfway through maybe. Heard the next few books after 3 aren't as good as the main trilogy, so I don't know if I should trade off not reading them and make time for reading other books. Let me know if they're worth reading!
currently craving: idk. I just had Taco Bell bean tacos, and I love the texture of refried beans a lot. I want more refried beans. maybe melted shredded cheese.
last thing i researched: I'm learning Godot now! Also with my roommate. We just got ourselves comfortable with the interface, and we'll probably look over the gdscript language soon. Can't wait, too; I've had a platformer game in mind for the past 2 years, but only got as far as a very basic Unity prototype. Now, uh, well, you've seen what happened to Unity.
fun fun!!!
I now challenge @salt-rocks @mih-nah-mina and @lycanthian to this! Although anyone reading this is free to do this too. I'm making this open source now, fuck it. Check the github repo.

9 5 people you'd like to know better
My lovely mutual (@reikurusu) tagged me in this and it seemed a fun way to get to know each other better! I kept it at 5 people because I don't know who else to tag since I haven't been back on tumblr for very long yet and am still getting reacquainted with everything/everyone on here.
Last song: Love From The Other Side by Fall Out Boy. I just saw them in concert and this song has been stuck in my head day and night. I like it a lot, it's super catchy! Plus, the line "I'd never go, I just want to be invited" is such a banging introvert lyric.
Currently watching: I recently started watching the show From with my family, we're only on the first season still. It's very dramatic and dark, and we all like to try to guess what is really going on. We'll see how it plays out though, my sister is afraid it might go the way of Lost and get too convoluted and just overall too much. Some of the characters are kind of annoying me already, but I am mainly just watching it when my family is watching it so I'll probably stick with it as long as they are watching it.
On my own, I am watching Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion and My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 on Crunchyroll, while also just randomly rewatching episodes of Moriarty the Patriot (mainly The Two Detectives Act 1 & 2 because I love watching Sherlock and William work together).
Currently reading: Uh I guess, the manga for Moriarty the Patriot since I just finished reading volume 12. I started reading the manga after I finished the anime and didn't realize at first that the English translation isn't yet caught up to where the anime ends with The Final Problem, so now I am impatiently waiting for the next few volumes that come out later in the year.
Of actual book books (I know comics/manga are real books too but it has been so long since I read an actual text-only book that wasn't for school that it is worthy of distinction here), I just finished reading A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske. It had exactly the right mix of intriguing plot and romance that I crave (I can't read much stuff with just one or the other).
Also, if we are talking currently reading then of course I am also reading a stupid amount of fanfics all at once. I am currently rereading floriography by ashrivaille because Sherlock and William solving murders together is my current favorite thing. I ship them so much it's ridiculous (also Mycroft and Albert but that's a whole other thing). I honestly have a difficult time finding actual books to read that aren't fanfiction anymore because I am so used to getting exactly what I want from a story in fanfics due to filters (praise ao3's tagging system) and already knowing the world/characters. I find it difficult to get invested in other books and often find them kind of boring, or like flat? Could just be also because without the specific tags/tropes that are used to label fics, it is harder for me to find books I would be interested in since I'm relying only on plot summary.
Current obsession: Hmm I wonder....?? Yeah, no it's pretty obvious my current obession is Moriarty the Patriot since over half of the media I'm consuming is related to it lol. It's just so satisfying watching William set up these intricate crimes/plots and Sherlock deducing the hell out of them (and also to see evil nobles get what's coming to them).
My sister showed me this scale once on Pinterest where someone had placed character pairs from "be gay do crime" to "be gay and solve crime" and Sherlock and William were in the middle lol. Whatever genre that scale is seems to be my BRAND since the "solve crime" end was Kato and Kambe from Millionaire Detective (one of my fav animes), and while I don't remember what the one originally on the "do crime" side was I feel that Rei and Kazuki from Buddy Daddies fits well there (another of my fav animes).
Wow, this got so long lol. Gonna tag some people I think it would be cool to know more about, but no pressure! Feel free to ignore it if you want :)

I’ll take one large cock..err I mean Coke please
Tumblr media
↠ yoongi x jungkook | smut | drivethruworker!jk | 18+ | 2.7k
Tumblr media
↠ Summary: It’s been the shift from hell and all Jungkook wants to do is go home, jerk off and get some well deserved rest. But the attractive brunette with the deep, raspy voice that gets his cock twitching has just pulled into his drive thru and Jungkook’s night is about to get even crazier.
Tumblr media
↠ Warnings: masturbation, frottage, car sex, awkward crushes, public sex, handjobs, yoongi hates mcdonalds but likes jungkook.
Tumblr media
"Welcome to McDonald's, can I take your order please." Jungkook's voice cracked out of the decades old drive thru speaker while he absentmindedly twirled a straw between his tattooed fingers.
"Uh yeah just a Large Cheeseburger Combo. Uhhh and make the drink an Iced Americano please." Jungkook dropped the straw, which rolled along the ground towards the "broken" ice cream machine. He knew that low raspy voice, the one that was slightly slurred making it hard to understand exactly what was said. It came out of the cutest pouty mouth Jungkook had ever seen.
"Uhh oh y-yes, okay, please drive up to the next window." He hastily brushed his hands through his inky black waves and straightened out the hat that sat lazily on top of his head. Jungkook had a crush. A huge crush. The kind of crush your friends and family would mock you about for years to come. The cutie with the deep voice had been visiting Jungkook's McDonalds drive thru for nearly a year now, always ordering the same thing - a Large Cheeseburger Combo with an Iced Americano. He was the prettiest man Jungkook had ever seen; a soft round button nose, the most breathtakingly stunning feline shaped eyes, pale skin that reminded him of a shimmering full moon, and those lips, small, pouty and Jungkook was dying to know what they would look like wrapped around his cock.
He tapped his foot nervously against the brown tile floor as he tried to push the thought out of his head. He was at work he shouldn't be thinking about his cock and the sweet, pretty little mouth he dreamt of most nights taking him so deep into his throat that tears fell from his eyes as he gagged and moaned around him.
Jungkook let out a small squeal when he noticed the man's car roll up to his window. Hesitantly he opened the sliding glass, "Hi, umm your order isn't ready yet, please park up over there," he pointed towards the waiting area, "and someone will bring it out as soon as possible." The brunette smiled at him as he paid for the order then slowly drove towards the designated parking spot. Jungkook dropped to the floor crouching out of view, his heart was thumping against his ribs. He took a few minutes to calm himself down before returning to his mundane, tedious work.
The day seemed to drag on longer than usual for Jungkook, anything that could go wrong did. The coffee machine in the café side broke down, his coworker and best friend Jimin was burnt by hot oil in the fryer and had to be rushed off to A&E and Jungkook had slipped on some melted ice bruising both his knees during impact. By the time his shift was over he was well and truly over the day, but he had agreed to cover Taehyung's night shift (and hey, extra pay wasn't anything to scoff at)
He had a quick break, scoffing down some chicken nuggets before washing them down with a large Fanta, then fit the microphone headpiece back in place and waited for the craziness of the dinner rush. As expected the next 3 hours were insane, car after car seemed to flow past his window. His feet were burning from standing all day, eyes feeling heavy from exhaustion but he still had 4 more hours before closing.
-----
With only an hour to go the staff that remained locked the front doors, the drive thru now the only option for anyone with a late night craving for greasy burgers and burnt fries. Jungkook was able to finally rest his swollen feet, laying down in a booth hands folded under his head. He had just started to feel himself drift off when the static of the speaker box vibrated in his ear, the telltale sign of a car pulling up dragged him from his near slumber.
"Hello Welcome to McDonalds," a yawn broke free, his hand automatically rushing up to cover his nose, "Mmm sorry, can I take your order."
"Yeah, one Large Cheeseburger combo with an Iced Americano please"
Jungkook's eyes were as large as saucers as he flung himself out of the booth and ran towards the drive thru window. It was that delicate, ethereal man again, he'd never worked nights before so hadn't expected to see him again.
"I'm sorry, b-but the McCafe is closed, you'll have to order from the soft drink menu." He checked himself out in the reflective metal bench in front of where he stood, he was sure he looked like hell but there was little he could do, not that he could see anything anyway the bench was scattered with serviettes and spilled soft drink.
"That's okay, I'll just take a large Coke then."
"Sure thing, please drive up to the next window."
The car arrived within seconds, the only vehicle in the drive thru so late at night. Jungkook stood awkwardly, eyes darting between the man in the car and the crew in the back taking their sweet ass time to get the order ready. He huffed and slid the window open.
"Do you mind parking up and someone will bring your order out for you?"
"Yeah, thanks." The man paid then pulled up into the vacant waiting area. With his headlights turned off the car was invisible in the dark of the night. Jungkook let out another yawn and rubbed his tired sleepy eyes. He walked into the back just as his co-worker was folding over the brown paper bag.
"Can you take this out to him, I really need to use the bathroom." The bag was thrust into his arms as the night manager Namjoon ran past him towards the toilet block. He sighed, obviously he had no choice but to deliver this meal to the most gorgeous man to walk the earth. God was really testing him today.  Jungkook removed his headpiece leaving it by the cash register, unlocked the front door and stepped into the chilly night.
He shivered before running towards the only car in empty space. He knocked gently on the driver side window and shifted off each foot while he waited for the window to be rolled down. There was no response. He tried to peer through the tinted glass but was unable to see anything so he knocked once more, this time a lot louder. The window rolled down part of the way and Jungkook could see the top of the man's face.
"Thanks, just slip it through." His voice was strained and a little pitchy.
Jungkook shifted his weight onto his left foot "Yeah, that's not gonna work you need to lower the window more."
A panicked no was the man's response. Jungkook was getting a little pissed off, he had been working non stop all day and just wanted to go home, have a quick jerk off session and then sleep.
"Dude, you need to open the window or I'm just dumping your shit on the ground." Jungkook didn't mean to snap, and not at the man he'd secretly been in love with for so long. But he was just so over his day.
Slowly the window lowered and Jungkook was able to see the man's face. Just as soft and perfect as always, except he had a pink tinge to his cheeks. Jungkook thought it looked beautiful, a gorgeous contrast to his pale skin. He went to pass the bag through when his eyes flickered downwards. Jungkook choked when his eyes fell upon a very thick and very hard cock peaking out between the man's legs. His jeans were pushed halfway down his legs and his right hand was clenched around the base of his shaft. Jungkook wasn't sure what to do. He'd been picturing the man's cock for months and now he was seeing it in the flesh, he was turned on and slightly overwhelmed.
The man used his free hand to grab the bag and nonchalantly threw it on the passenger seat. Jungkook was unable to remove his eyes from the brunette's cock, his tongue flicked out as he licked along his lip. When realisation set in of what he had just done, his face turned beetroot red and he spun around to run back to the safety of the store.
But before he could the man spoke, "Do you like what you see?"
Jungkook froze, it was pretty obvious he did, but he couldn't say that . . could he?
"Y-y-yes." He replied, his stutter making him cringe internally.
"Get in." It was more of a question than a demand and Jungkook felt a little better to know he wasn't the only one affected by what was happening. He walked to the door directly behind where the man sat and slowly opened it, he quickly looked around to make sure no one was watching before climbing into the back seat. They sat in silence for a while, Jungkook twisting his hair around his finger - a nervous habit of his and the man stared at him with those intense piercing eyes through the rare view mirror.
-----
After a few minutes Jungkook heard light whimpers come from the front and leaned forward between the empty space of the two front seats. The man was stroking his length slowly, cautiously watching Jungkook's every move in the mirror. Jungkook sat quietly and watched with attentive eyes at the scene unfolding in front of him. He longed to reach out and feel that soft translucent skin, to see his cum dripping all over the tattoos that were etched into his skin. But his body couldn't move, glued to the spot he was in.
Jungkook watched as the man's chest rise and fell, how his cock twitched every time a low moan escaped Jungkook's lips and at the precum that was leaking from the tip, helping to lubricate the man's slide.
"You are so fucking pretty," The deep mumbly voice broke the silence reverberating around the stifling space, "The first time I saw you I thought you were the prettiest guy I've ever seen. I fucking hate McDonald's, it tastes like shit. But I keep coming back because I want to see you."
"What the fuck." Jungkook couldn't believe what he was hearing, his dream man thought he was pretty? And only ordered food to see him? No wonder he had never seen him order inside the store. He shifted in his seat, his cock starting to ache from how hard it was. The man was still watching through the rare view mirror and had noticed.
"Get it out if you want, bit weird for me to be the only one with my dick out."
Jungkook quickly unzipped his trousers and yanked them down letting them land on the floor with a soft thud. He leaned into the back seat and spat onto his palm, wincing once he finally felt the tight grip of his hand relieve some of the pressure building up inside of him. He felt a little silly, legs open wide, knees bruised, white socks, black sneakers, McDonald's work shirt and hat still on, but the man staring back at him didn't seem to mind one bit of his appearance. Maybe he had a uniform kink?
Together they pumped their cocks, eyes locked onto one another's via the mirror. Their hushed breaths synchronised, the thrill of what they were doing drew Jungkook closer to his release. "Shit, I'm gonna c-cum soon. C-can I feel you? Please, I've wanted it for so long." The eyes staring back at him flashed a desire Jungkook had never seen in anyone before.  The man pushed his pants off fully and scrambled into the back with Jungkook. Jungkook reached out hesitantly and stroked his fingers along the man's face, along his strong eyebrows, down his cute little nose, along his soft jawline and of course his sweet lips.
"So what's your name anyway? I'm Jungkook." he asked as he leaned in and started to kiss the man's exposed neck, hands hovering over his creamy white thighs.
"Yoongi."
"A pretty name for a pretty little thing. Perfect." Jungkook continued to suck deep purple marks onto Yoongi's neck, he hadn't given a hickey since he was a teenager, but he wanted to mark the man up so badly. He could feel Yoongi's hands knead at his soft ass, squeezing the flesh, running his finger along his crack, teasing at the entrance of his hole.
Without warning Jungkook detached from Yoongi's neck and pushed his smaller body against the backseat. He straddled Yoongi's thighs, shifting so their cocks were centimeters apart. He reached down between their bodies and held his cock in one hand and Yoongi's in the other, then pressed them firmly against each other. Jungkook whimpered, Yoongi was so hard and warm against his cock, which was now throbbing and leaking a small amount of precum. Jungkook ran his thumb over his slit, collecting as much of the clear fluid as he could before rubbing his thumb over the tip of Yoongi's cock, his fingers traced around the head, slowly moving down his length, with feather light touch. Jungkook closed his fingers around Yoongi's girth and moved his hand up and down covering him with his arousal. He stroked him a few times before taking both cocks into his tattooed hand and pushed them together. They both cried out at the contact of their pulsating cocks against one another.
Jungkook jerked them both off, squeezing and pumping eager to see Yoongi come undone under him. Yoongi arched his hips grabbing on tight to Jungkook's thighs and started thrusting in time with Jungkook. In response Jungkook ground his cock against Yoongi's even harder, his balls slapping against the large pair that hung below Yoongi's thick cock. They rocked and rutted against each others warm, smooth lengths. The windows of the car were fogged - evidence of something seedy taking place inside, Yoongi's burger and fries no longer warm, but neither took any notice too focused on chasing their climax.
Yoongi came first spurting ropes of hot cum all over his shirt while he choked out a deep, vibrating sob. Jungkook looked down and saw the creamy white fluid dripping down his fingers and over the faded black ink, his cock pulsated in his grip. Jungkook's gut tightened and his vision went blurry, he spilled his release all over his and Yoongi's cocks.
Jungkook's heart was racing just like it had been earlier in the day, he couldn't believe that the man he had be fantasising about was laying under him cock out and covered in his cum. Yoongi flashed him a gummy smile, one he had seen many times from the other side of the drive thru window. Up close it was even more lovely his perfect little teeth lined up straight, eyes crinkling in the corners.
"Jungkook! Jungkook! Where the fuck are you man?" Jungkook's head snapped towards Namjoon's booming voice echoing throughout the carpark. He looked at Yoongi panicked but the smaller man didn't seem worried in the slightest. Yoongi pulled his T-shirt up over his head and used it to clean the sticky mess off Jungkook's hand.
"Put your pants back on and act like nothing happened. Just say I'm an old friend and we were catching up or something. I'll come and see you tomorrow . . errr later this morning on my way to work. You know my order right?"
Jungkook quickly did what Yoongi told him and gave him a fond smile before climbing out into the bleak cold night.
"Namjoon-ah!!" Jungkook yelled into the darkness not quite sure where his manager was. The sound of frantic footsteps alerted him and he turned to face a very pissed off Namjoon. His jaw was clenched and his mouth was turned downwards. Jungkook had seen this face only once before, when Namjoon had lost his shit and fired someone on the spot for trying to deep fry a soft serve cone.
He gulped hard, "Sorry Namjoon that's an old friend of mine," he motioned towards the car, "I guess we lost track of time."
Namjoon sighed "You're lucky no one has showed up in the last hour besides your friend over there. Come on, it's time to clean this place for the morning crew and then we can get the hell out of here and get some sleep."
As Jungkook walked back to the dimly lit building he couldn't help but smile with the knowledge that Mr Cheeseburger and Iced Americano would be rolling up to his drive thru window in just a few hours to see him. He was lovin' it.

I'm a simp for reiner 😩 so if you're open to it, could you do reiner and a fem reader doing 7 minutes minutes in heaven? And maybe it goes further later on in the night?
C/n: simp for Reiner? You’re talking to the right person. I couldn’t decide whether to make this in the canon universe or modern au, so chose the Modern Au with 22 year old Reiner ;) Thanks for requesting and I hope that you enjoy🤍

7 Minutes With You Isn’t Enough.(Reiner x Reader Oneshot)
Tumblr media
Mmm, party night. The night to unwind from the college stress and to just relax.
Senior year of college had its fair share of ups and downs. Now, after finals and weeks of late night studying and chugging down energy drinks to stay awake to study, it was all finally over.
After your final paper, everyone yelled and laughed at the relief of finishing. You walked out of your exam room and waited your best friend by the stairs. Your phone started buzzing with celebratory messages from your friends and others.
“Oi, Y/n!!” You lift your head up and look at Armin. “We’re finally done, Armie!!!” You ran to him and leaped into his arms to crush him in a bear hug. “Yes! I’m so glad.” He laughs out and sets you back down. “How was it?” He asks and you scoff. “Piece of cake. Yours?” “Same. Hey listen. Let’s go to the Waffle House tonight. I’ve been craving that chocolate waffle for weeks now.” He emphasizes the “weeks” while rubbing his stomach and you chuckle at him. Yeah, the both of you had almost little to no time to spend together so hopefully this break you two would spend everyday together.
You two were walking down the stairs and you bumped into someone on the way and tripped onto them. “Whoa there.” Says the voice that you absolutely adored. His large hands were set on your waist and your hands were on his shoulders. You lifted your head up and looked at your savior. “R-Reiner. Thanks.” You stutter out and straighten yourself out. “No problem. ‘Sup Armin.” He greets Armin and Armin waves. “Hey Reiner. How was your paper?” “Good.” He answers and looks back at you, smirking. “There’s a party happening at Annie’s tonight. Hoping to see you there, Y/n.” Reiner winks and walks past you, making you blush.
“Oh shit.” Armin whispers and catches your dazed out face from trying to smell Reiners cologne. “What happened?” You ask as Armin looks through his phone. “I guess we’re going to a party tonight. Annie just sent me the invite.” He shows you the message and your phone dings as well. You check and smile. “Yeah me too. Hey. Don’t you have a thing for her?” You suddenly ask and Armin stutters. “U-Uhh y-yeah. I’m hoping to ask her out tonight.” He whispers and your eyes widen and jump onto his back. “Yes! Finally!!” You excitedly say and Armin chuckles. “And what about Reiner, Ms Y/n?” Armin asks and you hop off his back and smile. “I don’t know. We’ll see.”
~~~~
Later that day, you were in your room getting ready. Armin was sitting on your bed waiting for you. You had a pair of skinny jeans on a tight black shirt on, which showed off your curves perfectly. Your neck was bare and only had a simple pair of earrings with your watch on. “What time is it, Armie?” You ask as you touch up your lipstick. “Time for us to leave. Let’s go.” He says and wakes up from your bed. You chuckle and grab your jacket. “Where’s Annie’s again?” “Uh, a block from here.” Armin says while he checks his phone while you lock up your apartment door.
You and Armin walk to Annie’s house while chatting here and there. Armin was telling you about the “cute” thing Annie did a couple of days ago. “And she sneezed and I swear my heart busted the fastest UwU everrr.” He explains and holds his cheeks making you giggle at his shyness. “Oh Armie.” You exhale a laugh while patting his back. Few minutes later, you both heard loud ass music coming from a house with party lights and dozens of cars in the driveway.
“This is it.” Armin says and walks with you up the driveway.
A lot of people were already there and one of them being Eren. “Y/n! Armin!” He waves and takes a sip of his drink. You smile and hug him and Armin shakes his hand. “Where’s Mikasa?” Armin asks looking around. “Upstairs. She’ll be down in a minute. But let’s go get you both a drink, yeah?” Eren says as he wraps his free arm around your neck. The three of you walk into the house and man, the music was blasting. Alcohol everywhere. It really was the perfect party.
Eren pours you and Armin drinks and hands them to you. “Y/n. You look good. Really good. Been working out?” Eren asks as you sip your drink. “Little bit. But I’ll get back into it now that finals are over. Thanks.” You smile and Armin locks eyes with Annie. She leaves her group of friends and walks over to him. Armin nudges your side, earning your attention with pain. “Ow, asshole. What?” You ask him and look in the direction he was and see Annie. She waves at you and you wave back. “Annie!” You throw your arms around her and hug her while she hugs back. “Thanks for coming.” She tells you and you smile. “Thanks for the invite.” As you were about to pull away, she locks you back in. “Reiner will be here in a couple of minutes.” She whispers and pulls back to see your blushing face. You nod and Annie goes to Armin. “Hi.” She greets him. “Hi.” He responds and she hugs him.
You turn to look at the pair and smile at Armin. Annie whispers something in his ear which made him turn red in a second. She takes his hand and drags him away from you. You wave a goodbye and sip your drink while looking around to see all familiar faces. Ymir and Christa on the couch, Connie and Sasha eating the snacks, and many more. You leaned against the counter when you heard someone scream:
“REINER!!!!!!”
You almost drop your cup at the yelling but look towards the door where a very drunk Colt drags Reiner in the house. “Everyone! Reiner’s here!” He yells out and everyone cheers. Reiner chuckles to himself and looks around, and his eyes land on you. You smirk behind your cup while holding eye contact with the tall man.
Reiner left his friends and stalked his way over to you, making your heart beat fast in your chest. You may look composed on the outside, but on the inside your butterflies surfaced. Reiner stands in front of you and leans forward, and reaches behind you for a cup. His front was almost pressed against yours but his neck was right in front of your face. God he smelled amazing.
He leans back and looks at you. “Hey, Y/n.” He greeted and you flickered your eyes back and forth from his eyes to his lips. “Hi, Reiner.” You breathe out and he smiles at your nervousness. ”We’re finally done with finals, huh?” He says and looks at your lips. “Yeah. Finally.” You whisper. As he leans into you, a shout of both of your names startle you. “Reiner! Y/n! Come on. We’re gonna play some games!” Marcel calls and the both of you pull away. Reiner clears his throat at the awkward tension. “Shall we?” He motions to the lounge and you nod. “Yeah.”
The both of you went into the lounge where a circle of people formed. Luckily, it was everyone that knew. An open seat was next to Armin and you took it. Reiner sat next to Porco who was across from you. “Oh hey.” Armin greets you and you greet back. “Where’s Annie?” You ask. “She’s in the backyard. Some of her other friends wanted to talk to her.” Armin replies as he sips his beer. You nod and steal a glance of Reiner, who was already looking at you.
“Alrighty everybody,” Eren began, “The game that was voted the highest was 7 Minutes in Heaven!” He yelled out causing everyone to make “oohs” and “aahs”. Many looked at each other, analyzing who would kiss who etc. Eren shot down the last of his beer and placed the bottle in the middle of the circle. “Everyone is surely familiar with the rules. So, without further ado, let’s begin. Marcel! You start.” Eren says and sits in his spot next to you.
Marcel spins and it lands on Pieck. Everyone “ooh”ed and cheered for Marcel. He had been crushing on Pieck for months now and finally could make a move. “Alright you two. Go into that closet and make out. We’ll be timing you for 7 minutes so hop to it. Oh and we want to see a hickey on one of you at least.” Eren says, making everyone laugh. Marcel wakes up and takes Piecks hand and leads her to closet where it was locked from the outside by Eren.
Seven minutes passed by fast and the pair came out with Marcel a bit out of breath. “Show it. Show it. Show it.” Everyone begins to chant and Marcel pulls down his collar to show a bright bruise on his neck. Everyone cheered and the girls giggled with Pieck.
“Ok. Who’s next?” Eren asked and looked around. “Me.” Your eyes shoot up to who said it and it was Reiner. He takes the bottle and looks at you. That look he gave you made you burn up. You sipped your drink and waited. Maybe you wanted it to land on you. Scratch that, you did want it to land on you.
“Spin Reiner!” Eren shouts and Reiner spins the empty bottle. It twirls and twirls until it stopped. Right on you.
Reiner smirked to himself while everyone cheered. Armin slapped your back and you smiled. You looked up from your cup and saw Reiner smiling. “Alright, lovebirds. Get in the closet. You know what to do.” Eren winked at you and you woke up and walked to the closet with Reiner right behind you. You both entered the small closet and the door was closed and locked.
Now it was just the two of you.
No music. No other people. No distractions. Just the two of you.
You played with your hands nervously and Reiner saw your tenseness. He took your hands in his and made you look up at him. He was so damn tall. “Y/n. We won’t do anything you don’t want.” He whispers and you shake your head. “No. I want to. I’m just nervous, that’s all.” You chuckle out and Reiner moves his hands around your waist and brings you closer. His left hand cupped your cheek and you lean into his palm. “Can I kiss you?” He asks and you nod. “Say it, Y/n. I need to hear that you want me.” Reiner explains. “I want you, Reiner. Please.” You say softly and bring his lips to yours.
You moved perfectly with each other. Tongues intertwined and moans spilled from both of you. Reiners large hands moved down to your ass, then your thighs and hoisted you up. He pinned you to the closet wall and moved his lips from yours down to your neck. “Aah, Reiner~” you moan and he groans. He nips your neck and bites softly making you gasp. He grinder into you and you pushed your hips down to meet his. He attacked your sweet spot forcefully and continued to draw out those beautiful moans he longed to hear.
Knock Knock “2 more minutes!” You hear Eren’s voice and you groan. But Reiner doesn’t stop. He kisses all around your neck to the other side and attacks there as well. “R-Reiner. Two- fuck- Two minutes.” You gasp out and grip his hair. He doesn’t answer. Just continues to ravage your neck with love bites.
“Time’s up!” Eren says and Reiner pulls away from your neck with a pop! His face flushed as well as yours, he lowers you down and holds you steady. Both of you were panting and the closet door was unlocked. “Meet me outside.” You tell him and walk out. Everyone looked at you and saw your disheveled hair and love bites all around your neck. “Damn Reiner. You don’t play games, huh?” Porco remarks and everyone chuckles. You smile and wave goodbye to everyone, Armin and go to get your jacket.
Reiner followed close behind and walked to get his jacket as well. You walked outside and waited for him. Suddenly, a pair of strong arms wrapped around your middle and kissed your cheek. You smile and he moves down to the side of your neck. “Mmm Reiner~ I’m a block away from here.” You appealed and he hummed in acknowledgement. “Let’s go then.”
You took his hand in yours and dragged him to your apartment. It took everything in him to not just take them and there on a wall but he behaved. He waited for you for so long so he wasn’t going to let this go to waste. Your heart was beating rapidly in your chest. After all this time, you finally had him. Months of flirting back and forth, you were both glad you waited until finals finished. Now, you two could pay special attention to one another.
As soon as you unlocked your door, Reiner lifted you up and threw you over his shoulder. “Ah! Oh my god, Reiner!” You laugh out and shut your door behind you. He chuckles and gives your ass a smack then walks to your bedroom. He throws you on your bed and hovers over your body. His hands rub your thighs and move up the side of your stomach, lifting up your shirt.
He leans down and captures your lips in his and you move your hands under his shirt, feeling his chiseled abs. Reiner groans and pulls away and takes off his shirt. He leans back to you and nudges your nose with his, making you giggle.
“7 minutes with you isn’t enough. Can I have you for forever?”
———————————————————————
“I’ll leave the rest up to you. Idk why I’m not comfortable writing smut for Reiner. Maybe I’m still in love with him and I can’t show him my whore side yet. But soon.”
Febuwhump Day 4 - Nightmares
Summary: At first the nightmares had been straightforward. Echo would find himself back at the Citadel, reliving the worst day of his life, and then find himself stuck to a computer like another part of an emotionless and depersonalised machine. But then, as time went by, the nightmares evolved...
Warning: Body-horror and Gore.
The biggest lie Echo had ever been told was that it would get better. That one day he'd wake up from some very fitful slumber feeling great, rather than shooting up in his hammock with sweat trickling down his brow. In a better life, one where he hadn't been bred for war, it might have gotten easier. But not in this one.
At first the nightmares had been straightforward. Echo would find himself back at the Citadel, reliving the worst day of his life, and then find himself stuck to a computer like another part of an emotionless and depersonalised machine. But then, as time went by, the nightmares evolved...
Something primal and out of his control had taken hold of his subconscious. Made it so that he couldn't think of the prospect of sleep without feeling fear for what he might see. The implants and neural-relay made it easier to go without sleep longer, as they lessened his altered brain's burden of information processing. But there was a limit to everything. Echo could only go without sleep for a week. Any more and he'd either collapse into a deep dark unconsciousness, or his mind would begin playing some pretty deceitful tricks on him. And if both didn't get him first, Tech certainly would force him to get some rest... Even so, Tech wasn't nearly as scary as the things his mind concocted when he did relent.
Perhaps... Just a few minutes to close his eyes... Just a few...
-
Rishi Moon Outpost was a pretty boring assignment. Even Echo, who took joy in the little things like reading the reg manuals, had to concede that Hevy's displeasure wasn't misplaced. Domino Squad had only just graduated and craved adventure and glorious battles, just like any other squadron of greenhorn rookies. They wanted to catch the attention of a battalion. They wanted to earn their paint. They wanted some action. But they got to play babysitter for a boring old moon outpost instead. Ah well. At least they had a deck of cards and some datapads. And the meteor showers were honestly quite nice to watch whenever they happened. With some creativity they could entertain themselves while staying safely indoors. Even if Droidbait and Cutup were starting to go a little stir-crazy.
"Another slow night in Bumfek Nowheresville..." Fives bemoaned as they settled in for the night. They'd done all their tasks, finished all the reports, had their meals, and were now dressing down to their blacks to lay in their cots.
"Maybe tomorrow we might get to see the eels migrating." Echo offered as he sat down on the hard mattress. He pulled his leg up so that he could scratch the sole of his right foot. It felt a little itchy. "Or we could convince Hevy to dismantle and reassemble one of the GONKs. He's done it to his blasters enough times that I'm starting to think he's trying to set a record."
"I can hear you, you know?" Hevy huffed. "Try to quiet down, some of us are trying to sleep away the boredom..."
"If that works, then I'll be sleeping through this whole assignment...." Droidbait grumbled as he turned so his back was facing them. He'd practically cocooned himself in his blanket. The base was a little cold after all, but Echo found that he couldn't feel the bite of it. Only the itch on his foot which was spreading to the other one as well. Had Fives put something in his boots again?
"You doing good Echo?" Cutup called over. "You're scratching an awful lot over there."
"Uh? Oh yeah... My feet are just itchy." He shrugged as he took to scratching the top of them, and then begun climbing up his legs. The weird itchy feeling was spreading and it was becoming pretty uncomfortable. "Fives did you mess with my kit again?"
"No..." Fives frowned at him. "Is it that bad?"
"Yeah, and it's getting worse!" Echo frowned as well, starting to feel a little unnerved as the tingling and light burn began to climb over his knees towards his thighs. What in Haran was going on with him?
"Kriff, did you catch trench foot or something? Wait, no, that doesn't spread right? Maybe you're allergic to your blacks? No, you'd have reacted to them sooner..." Droidbait was suddenly next to him. When had he moved closer? And Hevy and Cutup as well. Fives was the closest of course, now sitting on his cot right next to Echo. His twin looked worried.
"Echo?"
"Fives I don't feel right...I..." A fabric tearing noise cut him off.
All clones look down at Echo's feet, staring in horror as the tight fitting body-glove ripped apart at the very tips of his toes, revealing metalic plated ones instead of flesh. Before their very eyes the tears got larger, revealing more and more metal. Where his heel should be there was a circular joint and casing that connected to even more metal. The ripping of the fabric was following the previous uncomfortable itch up his legs. His metallic droid legs...
Before Echo could so much as utter a word, he found himself on the floor. His brothers were up on their feet, mixed looks of horror and anger as they backed away from him. Hevy was glancing towards his storage crate where he kept his blasters. Droidbait and Cutup had their hands on the hilts of their vibroblades. He could have sworn they didn't have their kit on before... Echo stared at them, wide-eyed.
"G-Guys?" The itch was back. At the base of his pelvis and climbing up his spine. His right arm hurt.
"Keep it pinned!" Hevy barked out as he moved to get to his crate. "Don't let it so much as move an inch!"
"What are you doing? It's me! Echo!" He struggled against a heavy weight on his back. Something was pressing against his spine and it made the agonising ache of the plating growing out of his skin and incasing his vertebrae all the much more painful. He couldn't see what it was keeping him pinned.
"Yeah right..." The weight spoke. Looking over his shoulder Echo could see Fives. His batchmate. His twin... Staring down at him with unbridled fury and disgust. "Nice try Clanker... Your disguise isn't fooling anyone!"
"W-what? I'm not a droid! I swear!" Echo gasped in pain as his right hand began to twitch painfully. He could feel the bones of his fingers fusing together. Becoming longer and thinner until the abominable thing began to resemble a scomp-link. "Fives! Please, you have to believe me!"
"Shut up!" Fives snarled. "What did you do to the real Echo, you kriffing freak?!"
They were all surrounding him now. All holding their preferred weapons. And the itch... Little gods it was getting worse. Echo could feel the ports pushing out of his skull. The wires inside his body attaching and squirming like live worms. Could feel his muscles and minimal fat deteriorate and his body temperature lower... Each breath came out as a puff of mist, like his very insides were frozen solid.
And then the burning hot pain came crashing down onto his senses.
The screams of his brother bounced off the walls as wires and cables shot out of him, wrapping around Hevy, Droidbait, Cutup and Fives like constrictor snakes. Echo screamed too, trying to stop it. Trying to tug at the things coming out of him that were now trying to force their way down his vode's throats. One tug and Hevy's body couldn't take the strain of the increasing pressure and burst at the very seams. No tug at all, Cutup kicked and screamed as a Rishi eel made of sparking gore covered cables devoured him whole. One final tug, Droidbait began to meld with the mass of machinery, begging throughout all the process that someone please help him.
Fives remained. Him and the abomination Echo was becoming. The base felt tiny, the information contained within the computing processors not enough to satisfy the Techno Union's lust for information. Echo couldn't stop it, no matter how hard he fought. The wires, the cords and cables, they were inside him. Hungry. Waiting. Never satisfied. Taking more and more of him with each passing moment.
Everything was so cold. Fives was so cold. Look of hatred frozen onto his deathly pale face. Heart pierced through by Echo's scomp-link arm.
Echo was alone. Echo was no more. Only the Algorithm remained.
-
The scream that tore out of Echo's mouth was the most bloodcurdling thing Hunter had ever heard. He sat upright, heart racing, and saw each and every one of his brothers starling awake to stare at the hammock in horror. Their adopted reg was tangled in it, kicking and screaming in between sobs. Stuck in some nightmare hellscape of his own creation.
Despite his tactlessness, Crosshair was the one to reach the contorting heap of fabric first. Untangling it as fast as possible while trying not to further jostle and alarm the traumatised clone trapped within. Before either Hunter, Tech or Wrecker could join him, the sniper yelped and jumped back as the cybernetically enhanced trooper sprung up and rushed towards the fresher.
Maddened ramblings not registering as the hysterical clone scratched at his skin and sobbed despairingly.
But Tech was neither deaf nor stupid, and despite his clumsiness from not putting his goggles on properly, he was right at Echo's heels. Wrecker followed. To help his smaller brother with comforting their terrified ori'vod.
"The wires! Get them out! Get them out of me before they kill you too!"
"I've run the scans. All the tests came out negative for any hidden internal traps of such... Fantastical nature." Tech reassured. "You are not a danger to us."
"What if you're wrong?! What if it's hiding?! I need them out! Please Tech! Please get them out!"
"Highly doubtful. You are safe. You won't hurt us."
"Tech's right... You got us looking after ya, and you're looking after us." Wrecker added. "It'll be ok."
"I'm just so tired..." Echo sobbed. "I'm so tired!"
Hunter and Crosshair shared a concerned look. The nightmares were getting worse, and worst of all they were starting to get to Echo. They needed to do something. Needed to prove there was nothing to fear. But how did you protect someone from the horrors that hid in their own mind? They hadn't been trained for this.
“Oh–” was all you managed to say. “I recommend we start radiation treatments-” You zoned out and watched your feet dangle from the edge of the exam table. Was this it? Was this really all there was for you? It seemed hopeless to even do anything at this point. You figured if this was affecting you again, it was for a reason.
"No. I don't want treatment." The doctor looked at you and his gaze faltered. "You do understand that if you refuse treatment this will inevitably kill you?" You nodded. The words felt empty, they carried no weight behind them anymore. Nonetheless, the doctor continued to try and persuade you.
"I said I don't want the treatment. I'm refusing medical advice. I don't want to have to go through this again, it's obviously not going away. Now where the hell do I sign the papers?" You exasperated. The doctor gave you one last look before getting the papers for you to embark your signature on.
“You’re one-hundred percent sure about this?”
You shrugged your shoulders, “I've got nothin' left for me here anyways. Might as well just let nature take its course.”
"Well surely you've got someone, a friend maybe?" You shook your head.
 "Nope." You replied, popping the P at the end. The doctor seemed to finally grasp the situation when you handed the papers back to him as if you were turning in a job application.
He pursed his lips, "I'm going to give prescribe medication for the pain. Based on the size of the tumor I'd say you have about eight months to live, but only about half of those months will be enjoyable." You nodded your head in reply and gathered your stuff together.
So how were you going to spend your last months on earth? That was the question you asked yourself. You walked out of the building and found yourself in a coffee shop. It was busy, but you found yourself a seat next to a window in the back of the shop. Your eyes gazed out the window as you pondered your question from earlier.
'I could move to New York and see broadway shows I've never wanted to see'
'There's always casinos–'
'–Or what about splurging your money on dumb things that you'll quite literally never need?'
You laughed at your thoughts. You made up your mind right there, you were going to live the rest of your life just the way it was. It’d be easier that way. You didn't have friends, no longer had parents, so it's not like anyone would really miss you really. All you had was your pet cat and your guitar. And truth be told, that's all you needed.
Coffee.
"Hello?" You snapped out of your gaze to see a beautiful brunette standing in front of you. The second thing you noticed was her accent, you'd never heard it before. “I was wondering if this seat was taken?” She softly smiled at you. You returned the gesture and shook your head no. "The place is cram packed and you seemed trustworthy. I hope I'm not disturbing you or anything, you seemed to be pretty deep in thought." The young woman blushed a crimson color, "I'm sorry I probably seem weird or something, I'll go."
Normally you would have cared, but at this point in time you didn't mind the company. So, with the slightest bit of hesitation, you called out for her.
“Wait! It’s fine, don’t worry. I-I’m all alone.” The woman’s smile widened as she took a seat across from you. “Thanks. I'm Wanda, what's your name?”
"Y/N."
"Y/N..." She flexed your name on her tongue, "That's a beautiful name."
"I'm stuck with it for life, so I sure hope it's at least a decent name." You narrowed your eyes at her as you joked. A giggle escaped the gap between her lips, causing a small flutter to emit in your stomach.
"So what do you do?" She asked, intrigued by your presence.
"Well I do a lot of things, I walk, I talk, I breathe-"
"Oh shut up! You know what I meant." Wanda’s eyes gleamed with friendliness and warmth. She seemed like the type you'd be friends with if you weren't dying. "Okay, okay, I play guitar and sing while my cat eats her food." Wanda's eyes lit up at the mention of a cat.
"You have a cat? What's her name?" Her elbows were propped up on the table with her head resting in her hands, showing just how actually interested she was in you.
“Her name is Nala. You know, from The Lion King?”
Wanda’s brows furrowed together. She’d never seen The Lion King, much less heard of it.
Your jaw dropped at her confusion. “You mean to tell me you’ve never seen The Lion King?”
“I’m Sokovian, what do you expect?”
“Ahh, I see. Well, do you at least have any pets?”
"My apartment doesn't allow pets."
"So? Sneak one in." You replied nonchalantly, crushing ice between your teeth. Wanda looked at you in shock. "No way! Knowing me I'd get my ass caught on the first day." You shrugged in reply and the conversation quickly went dead.
Wanda checked her phone, moving abruptly to get up from her seat. "I'm so sorry, I have to go now. I'll see you around, okay?"
“Sure.”
After another half hour of waiting on nothing and thinking about everything, you finally decided it was time to leave. A feeling of regret washed over you. The woman was kind, very friendly, something that you craved.
But you couldn’t allow yourself these things now, especially given the direction you were heading.
_____
Over the next few weeks you'd spent your time songwriting, journaling and a midst of other lonely, boring things. Sometimes you'd catch yourself thinking about the woman in the coffee shop, but you tended not to dwell too much on the past.
You thought about your tumor and all the different ways it was growing inside you. It grossed you out more than anything, but you weren't afraid. At least not now you weren't.
A heavy sigh slipped from your lips, and the sudden urge to go to the park overtook the need to do anything else. You’d never really visited the park in your area before, so you decided now was the time.
The beige acoustic guitar rest heavily on your shoulders, similarly to the weight of the world. It was bitter, no taste of sweetness was left over in the aftermath.
Leaves crunched under your feet as you made your way into the park. The smell of pine and bark surrounded you, just as the pinch of cold air that struck your face. It was tranquil.
You marched your way over to a nearby tree secluded from everyone else. Setting your guitar down, you nested cozily against the wood. Your journal rest aside your hip as did the pen that exchanged your thoughts into words.
Humming quietly, your fingertips grazed the instrument’s delicate strings. Music filled the air around you, but it came to a quick stop nearly ten minutes after you’d begun.
"Hey, I know you. Y/N, right?" You heard a familiar accented voice behind you. You turned around to find Wand standing above you. "Uh yeah, that's me. What's up?" She sat down beside you, making you a little uncomfortable, but you figured you could deal with it for the sake of being nice.
"Nothing. I just saw you and thought I’d say hi. What about you? I see you have your guitar."
“Just singing,” you mumbled quietly.
She smiled and pushed a strand of hair out of your face that was blown in from the wind. "You’re really pretty." You bit your lip and you could feel the heat rise to you face. "Thanks."
"Mhm. So last time I didn't get your number, maybe I will this time?" She asked (although her eyes were begging). You couldn’t help but feel something while she bit her lip, her doe eyes unintentionally focusing on your lips.
"I'll have to give you mine, I didn't bring my phone with me – don’t use it much." You replied. She handed her phone to you and you typed your number in.
"Do you not have family or friends you keep up with?" Her brow quirked in curiosity.
"Parents died, no siblings, and no friends. I don't have many people to worry about."
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have-"
"It's fine, I don't mind." She looked down in her lap before asking another question. "What about a job? Do you work?" Wanda was definitely a curious one, but each question she asked carried you in a way you’d never felt before. It was refreshing to have someone interested in you, and not your disease.
"Nope, when my parents died they left all their life savings to me. It's plenty enough for me to live on." Your fingers began lightly playing the chords of a song. It was often that you unknowingly played when you were scared or nervous. You'd only realize afterwards.
"That's good– not that your parents died, but you know, you have money and stuff. Even if it's– oh my god- "
You cracked out a laugh, causing her to look at you in terror. Noticing this, you rest a hand on her shoulder. "Wanda, it's okay. You're fine, I know what you mean." She nodded shyly and looked up to the sky.
"Hey, it's sunset! I love sunsets, I used to watch them all the time with my brother back in Sokovia." Her voice wavered at the end of her sentence, and you easily picked up on it.
"Something wrong?" You asked. She laid her head on your lap and you stiffened, but quickly relaxed. This is fine. This is okay. You set your guitar aside and began to play with her hair.
"I miss him. Pietro..." She paused for a second before continuing. "He died a couple of years ago from cancer." You felt your heart drop for the first time at the mention of the horrid disease that stripped you away from most of your life. "Oh." The word seemed to become your go-to for whenever you didn't know how to accept information you were given.
"He was the other half of me. We were twins, I felt like my whole world fell apart. After he died I moved out of my country and moved here. Since then I've made some good friends. You might like them."
“I’m sorry about your brother. I’m sure he was wonderful, Wanda.” You whispered, bringing a piece of her hair to the end of a braid. “I'm happy you've made some friends." Wanda nodded and snuggled closer in your lap. "Maybe I can be your friend?" You gave it a thought. You weren't sure you could do that to her, not with your illness anyway. Guilt nawed at you already. She’d already lost someone so beloved and close to her from it, how awful you began to feel if you had to put her through that again.
"Y/N?"
You stared at her for a few moments before answering. "I don't know, maybe." She turned over to face you, but you avoided her gaze. "I'm going to figure you out you know." You stifled a laugh, "And you'll be sorry you ever did."
"Whatever."
____
Four months passed and you thought they would be empty, meaningless months, but with Wanda nuzzling her way into your life you began to feel alive for the first time. When she came around it was like a switch you couldn't turn off.
Right now, you sat at your desk strumming your guitar while watching Nala play with a toy dinosaur you’d bought her just weeks ago. This life was good too, you thought. But it was lonely.
You weren't quite sure what Wanda meant to you yet, but you were slowly discovering that whatever the two of you had, blossomed into something more each second you spent together.
Popping a Vicodin in your mouth, your phone buzzed. It would be no one else but Wanda.
be there in a few, it's urgent.
Panic set in your body as you worried for the safety of your friend. What could possibly be the matter? Normally Wanda talked about what was bothering her.
A knock at your door brought you out of your gaze and you stumbled to answer it. Wanda was distressed, her hair a mess and her eyes red.
“Whats wro-” You were cut off By Wanda smashing her lips onto yours.
She pulled back in shock. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry! I-"
You shut her up by pushing her into the wall, door closing behind you. Her lips tasted of strawberry and her hands began to roam your body.
One thing led to another and you both ended up naked on your bed. How amazing it must be to wake up and know that you won’t be dead in the next few months.
"You're good. Almost too good. Where did you learn all that from having no friends?" She smirked at you. You gave her a smile and kissed her again. Your arms wrapped around her nude body and together you felt the utter bliss and excitement radiating from one another.
. . . .
Three weeks later yoy began to shake. It was hardly noticeable, and it just so happened to occur when you were playing
It’s downhill from here and you know that.
"Can you fix it? Can you fix this?" You yelled at him, despite knowing it was all your fault. If you would've just taken the treatments you wouldn't be in this place. But back then your life had no real meaning, it was just you and your cat.
You hadn't planned on falling in love with someone.
"There's nothing I can do now. Treatments won't work, it's too far gone. I'm surprised it took this long to start showing symptoms."
For the first time in years, you felt tears beginning to build in your eyes. "You don't understand, I love her and now I'm just going to leave her? This can't be happening, you have to do something!" You pleaded, but the doctor’s eyes were solemn, giving you the only reply you needed.
You stormed out of the hospital and made your way to Wanda. Silence rang through your ears.
Tell her. You have to tell her.
It will be over.
Sobs wrecked your body as you fumbled with the keys to your shared apartment. The door opened to a sight you wanted to live forever.
There she was, perched on the couch while massaging Napa’s scruffy fur. She was content, happy, and here you were to ruin it.
"Y/N? Baby what's wrong?" She got up from her spot and rushed over to you, worry etched on her face. You clung onto her for more life than you had left. And god, You weren't scared before, but you sure as hell were now.
"I have terminal cancer."
Wanda froze.
"That's not funny, Y/N. You know how I feel about this topic." Her glare was hasty, burning into your skin.
"I was diagnosed almost five months ago, please Wanda you have to believe me. I have tremors, don't you see?" You raised your hand up to show her, but she slapped it away. "You're making yourself do that, Y/N. Stop joking, or I'm leaving." She crossed her arms
"W-What?" Your chest tightened.
"I said stop joking."
"I'm not joking, Wanda!"
"I'm leaving," She huffed, snatching her jacket before slamming the door shut.
And it was true, she did leave. However, Wanda didn't leave for the reasons she gave you.
She loved you, but she couldn’t handle another loss like this.
. . . .
During the next two months you experienced the most heartache you'd ever felt before. The combination of vomiting, body aches, and dizziness didn't help. If anything, it made it worse. You missed Wanda. Everything about her gave you a reason to live.
You were on your seventh month and the pain was unbearable. It hurt to reach out for a cup of water, your hands shook uncontrollably all while sending jolts of scorching pain throughout the entirety of your arm.
Undoubtedly, the hospital bed became your next best friend (although it was the worst one you’d ever had. But it somehow managed to weasel its way back in your life).
Wanda was nowhere to be seen, and if anything that only progressed your disease. The only thing that kept you sane was your guitar, and the fact that Nala was being taken care of by a sweet, old nurse (who sometimes snuck her in so you could see her).
It was about the small things now.
More days passed and each one was getting worse. By now you just wanted to end it all on your own, but you were physically too weak to do that.
There was a knock on your door, but you ignored it thinking it was just another nurse. "Y/N?" The voice was soft, it felt like it'd been years since you last heard it. You turned your head slightly to see Wanda standing in the doorway. A weak smile formed on your face.
"Hey you."
Wanda quickly dropped her things and ran to your side. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." She mumbled over and over again as you calmly stroked her hair.
"It's okay, you know it is." You whispered in her ear. She looked up at you and shook her head, "But it's not okay, I left you when you needed me the most." You stared at her adoringly and the tips of your fingers gently rubbed away the tears from her face. "But I'm still here, aren't I?" She laughed through her cries, "Yeah... you're still here."
Both of you knew you didn't have much time left, but you ignored that other than the fact that you made her promise to take care of Nala when you were gone. She held your hand and got you everything you needed.
And you love her so deeply for that.
One night you had the feeling that your time was coming soon, so you woke Wanda up from her sleep. "Sweetheart?" She stirred a little before finally sitting up.
"Yeah?"
"Hand me my guitar?" She tilted her head, "But your shakes?" You ignored her and asked for it again.
When she handed you your beloved guitar you took it with grace. "Come help me, I wanna play a song." She nodded and came to your side.
Your fingers struggled as they strummed the delicate strings on the instrument. You picked one of Wanda's favorite, and when you were done you spoke lightly.
"My guitar is slightly out of tune, but I'm eternally yours."
What Friends Do pt. 3
Warning: Cursing
Word count: 3382
Synopsis: Josh and Jake are surprised when an old friend stumbles back into their lives, taking their world by storm with old feelings, new feelings, and problems they never would have expected.
Josh Kiszka x Fem!Reader x Jake Kiszka
Tumblr media
Josh sat rather quietly at a booth in the corner of the rather cheery and noisy diner, his eyes sticking close to a book he held in his hand. Despite how energetic and wild Josh was, he was still an avid learner. He craved to be absorbing knowledge whenever possible, so he read. Sometimes history, sometimes philosophy, religion and myth at other times… it was whatever tickled his fancy at that moment really. Just recently Josh had picked up an interest in true crime, he wasn't normally that kind of guy really, but after reading a small portion of the book he was now holding he quickly became hooked. It had something to do with the psychological aspect of it all, and the sheer ingenuity of the author who put so much work into writing it.
Josh's chin rested in his hand as his eyes scanned page after page without a need for pause, well except for when the waitress came to see if he needed his coffee topped up. To which Josh was quick to give a wide smile and push his mug to her, "Thank you." He simply hummed, as the young woman poured the coffee she couldn't stop smiling.
"You're Josh right?" She lightly asked him, clearly a little nervous. "...like Josh Kiszka?"
Josh looked to her with his own smile, "Depends on who's asking." He mused lightly, trying not to make a big deal out of the inquiry.
The waitress let out a quick laugh, her eyes focused on her hands as she poured. "I didn't come to bother you, I just uh… I'm a huge fan and I was hoping you could sign something for me?" She quietly asked, looking up at him again.
Josh glanced at her name tag, "Of course… Annie?" He lightly asked, giving a small point to her badge. She began to nod quickly, suddenly jerking the pot of coffee back up realizing she had spilled a fair amount on the table.
"Oh no!" She exclaimed, "I am so sorry!" Annie quickly exclaimed.
Josh lightly lifted his book and his arms with a rather melodic laugh, "It's totally okay! Don't worry!" He tells her, his hand outstretched to take some napkins and help her wipe up the mess.
"I'll get a cloth---" Annie uttered, clearly in a shambles over what had just happened. She was still muttering to herself as she quickly went around back.
Josh watched as she ran off giving a soft smile, 'What a sweet girl…' he thought before noticing a young woman walking towards him, she wore an expression that told him she had watched everything that had just happened by the way she was trying not to laugh.
"What did you do to that poor girl?" (Y/N) laughed, "She was shaking like a leaf!" She continued, not finding it funny that the girl was such a mess --- (Y/N) thought she was adorable. No, what (Y/N) thought was hilarious was watching people lose their cool around a guy she knew for a fact could belch the entire alphabet and then some.
"I didn't do anything!" Josh quickly responded as he wiped the table, "She asked for an autograph and just---" He then gestured to the table.
(Y/N) shook her head in disbelief, "Have you told her how good you are at armpit farts yet?" She quickly inquired, coming to sit across from him, pulling a few more napkins to help him clean up.
Josh quickly pointed to her, "I have not, but you know that she would just climb right onto my lap if I did." He explains, "Ladies find that irresistible."
"Oh really?" (Y/N) raised a brow,
"Oh yeah, didn't you know that?" Josh replies in a spitfire way. "It's all women want these days."
"Ah yes, who needs love and affection when your man can armpit fart?" (Y/N) mused out loud glancing up at Josh, his gaze was on the young waitress who had come back rather quickly with a cloth.
She immediately began to wipe down the table, "Again I'm so sorry about that. I can't believe I did that---" Annie explained with an exasperated tone to her voice. "To make it up to you I'll cover your meal." She continues before pulling back.
"Oh no!! You don't have to do that!" Josh quickly exclaimed,
"No I insist." Annie says,
"No really hon, don't worry about it, he's rich he's got it." (Y/N) told her with a warm smile.
"(Y/N)---" Josh whispered in a quick way, though he was smiling. "Please, don't worry about it, Annie! Um here," He says taking one of the few napkins left in the holder. "(Y/N), do you have a pen?"
"Oh yeah---" She quickly says, going to pull one from her bag. "Here."
Josh quickly took it and began to scribble some things down on the napkin.
Annie's eyes were now on (Y/N) in a curious way, "I'm sorry, I don't think we met." She uttered, not remembering (Y/N) being here when Josh had sat down.
"Oh no I just got here…" (Y/N) admits, “We had lunch plans.” She continued.
"Oh! I'll get you a menu then," Annie quickly says, "Did you want anything to drink? I--- there's still coffee I didn't spill all of it!" She laughed awkwardly, "Oh---! I hope I didn't ruin your date or anythin---"
She was cut off by (Y/N) snickers, "God no! Don't worry about it! Josh is just an old friend--- this actually fits better than anything I could have imagined honestly." She mused. "But a coffee would be wonderful." (Y/N) told her.
As she said this Josh turned to hand Annie the napkin, he had not only signed it but also drew what appeared to be a coffee cup. "I'm not an artist--- well I mean, that kind at least." He lightly admitted.
Annie's cheeks were a bright red at this point, "N-no this is amazing!" She quickly sputtered out, "Thank you so much!" She continued, clearly over the moon with the simplest act of kindness really. Annie’s eyes lingered on it for a moment long before tucking it away into her pocket, “I’ll get you that coffee now!”
(Y/N) gave a small nod as a thank you, watching Annie run off. “What a cute girl!” She hums, glancing at Josh. “You clearly just made her week.” She points out to him, snatching her pen back from him.
Josh shook his head a little, “It’s still mind boggling to me that that's all it takes for me to make someone's day. Well at least people who know who I am.” He uttered out, folding a corner down in his book and placing it off to the side.
(Y/N) smiled as he said that, “I mean hey, it means you guys have been doing something right.” She tells him, fingers pushing back her hair a little as she leans on the table, “I take it Jake will probably be here by the time we’re leaving?” She mused as she had begun to look around the diner. (Y/N) enjoyed the warmth the restaurant had, it feeling like she was in a small town again --- that was probably why Josh liked this place, that it reminded him of Frankenmuth.
Josh softly laughed, “Yeah I can only assume, you know how he is---” he starts, moving to take a sip out of his mug. “Well--- actually he may surprise us, you also know how he gets when you’re involved.” He snickers, well aware of how much effort his brother used to put into getting dressed up and being several minutes early for her.
(Y/N) rolls her eyes a little, “Josh it’s been like six years---” (Y/N) scoffed, “You can’t honestly think he still feels like that.”
Josh began to shrug as he swallowed, “I mean I don’t know, he was pretty awestruck seeing you yesterday.” He mused,
His saying this made (Y/N) frown a little, “...ah… yeah I don’t think that look was awestruck.” She uttered under her breath, beginning to rummage through her purse.
Josh watched her from the corner of his eye, seeing a few items being shuffled around. It wasn’t long before he frowned a little, eyes lingering. (Y/N) finally pulled her phone free and saw his eye line, “What?!” She quickly asks, bringing the bag back to her side.
Josh’s eyes met (Y/N)’s he had chosen not to say anything, perhaps he was wrong about what he saw. He certainly hoped so, “Nothing.” Josh smiled at her, “It’s just good to see you.” He tells her honestly.
Josh certainly had missed having (Y/N) around to chat with like this. It wasn’t really a surprise when she packed up and left to go to college, she had different goals than Jake and him… though clearly things had changed seeing that she was back here starting her own career as a musician which was commendable, but also sad. Josh knew she never wanted to be a musician. (Y/N) from the time he had met her wanted to become a force for good in the world, perhaps some sort of court justice; just something that could make a change for the better. Of course Josh had always wanted something similar, but felt his being a force for good came through the music he made.
“It’s really good to see you too Josh.” (Y/N) responded with eyes full of affection, things fell quiet for a moment. (Y/N) had a lot she wanted to say to Josh, and clearly Josh also had a lot he wanted to say as well… but neither of them knew where to begin which made the air between them feel rather heavy.
Even Annie felt the tension and reluctantly slipped in as she gave (Y/N) a white coffee mug and a menu, “I’m just gonna leave this here… I’ll be back in a minute.” She uttered nervously before scrambling away.
Josh took a deep breath as he sat straight with his mug in hand, “So…?” He started,
(Y/N) took her glass and unknowingly did the same thing, “So what…?” She repeated,
“Music?” Josh lightly inquired, with a sly grin.
(Y/N) began to sigh very loudly, even throwing her head back a little. “Yes Josh. Music.” She droned, “I’m getting into music. Don’t you rub it in my face too, my parents have already done that enough.” She replied.
Josh shook his head, “I’m not gonna rub it in your face! I’m just confused, after so sheer much disdain for it all… now you’re here?” He slowly says with a clearly confused expression. “I just don’t get it (Y/N).”
“Plans change Josh, what can I say?” She responded, in a tone that clearly displayed she didn't want to be talking about this.
Josh raised a brow, his expression told her that he didn’t believe that. “You? Changing plans?” He scoffs, “(Y/N) your stubborn as a fucking mule, you expect me to believe that?”
“Yes.”
“Bullshit.” Josh quickly tells her, “What happened? Did you fail your classes…?” He lightly suggested, making (Y/N) scoff as she shook her head. “You know I don’t care what it is just --- just can you enlighten me a little.” Josh continues beginning to lean over the table, his gaze curious but still warm, he did care… and (Y/N) knew that.
(Y/N) had seen the look in his eyes many times during their younger years, it was a look that still made her heart ache a little. She glanced down at the mug in her hands beginning to take a sip, Josh stared at her for a few more seconds, before looking into his own glass with a slightly annoyed look.
“(Y/N)?” A soft voice called from the back of her mind,
“Yeah?” She could remember responding, now recalling how Josh’s head was laid in her lap at this moment. (Y/N) ran her fingers through his soft hair, it was longer than… without the tight curls just... free. (Y/N) was looking up at the stars twinkling softly over head, needing something to keep her attention from just staring at Josh.
Josh and (Y/N) used to sneak out in the middle of the night to walk together, just to talk and do silly things. They of course would sneak out to go to different parties and things, but the times they would sit alone like this were the most picturesque moments.
“You know that I don’t care, right…?” Josh softly told her, “About all that stuff…?” He continued, glancing down (Y/N) eyes met his. It was the same look, he wanted to be reassuring but the way he stared, told her everything she needed to know. “It doesn’t make me think any less of you…” He continued.
A soft smile had crept across her lips at that moment, “...I know Josh.” She lightly responded, remembering how her heart fluttered as his hand took her softly to hold over his chest. Moments like this with Josh were sweet to look back on, he really was a good friend when (Y/N) needed him the most, however… they were also a touch embarrassing to look back on. At times she couldn’t believe she entrusted him with so much information about her life.
“(Y/N)?” Josh continued,
“Mhm?” She responded,
“...Is superman’s ability to fly a feat of strength or actually a super power?” Josh uttered thoughtlessly as he gazed up at the stars,
“...Josh, you’re an idiot if you think it's anything other than a feat of strength.” (Y/N) responded without having to give it another thought. Maybe it was embarrassing to have shared so much with Josh, but… he was her best friend after all.
(Y/N) glanced up from her mug to look at Josh across the booth from her. She took in how his features had become more defined during their time apart, and how his hair curled and fell around his face. Josh had grown into even more of a handsome man than she could have ever expected. (Y/N) couldn’t help it, she could feel herself start and couldn’t stop it --- the same words leaving her lips as before, though she knew it wasn’t true. “I know Josh.” She smiled.
Josh raised his eyes, “So?” He lightly prodded, “What happened?” He lightly asks,
(Y/N) gave a light smile, she was going to lie through her teeth… she knew he would know but she wasn’t ready to admit why she was actually here. Not yet. “...It just wasn’t for me.” She tells him, “...I guess I didn’t realize how much I actually loved singing and performing until I wasn’t doing it anymore.” She told him, her chest feeling heavy with anxiety as Josh looked back at her.
His lips parted to say something, but seemed to pull back on the reins --- something (Y/N) had never seen him do when they were young. Josh smiled at her, he knew she was lying. (Y/N) hadn’t changed as much as he thought, she was making the same face she used to when she would bluff during their poker games. Josh just couldn’t bring himself to press the question; he had a feeling he knew what it was, and it was something he couldn’t just broach on the first time seeing each other in years. “...well… as long as you’re happy now.” He tells her honestly.
(Y/N) continued to make the same face as she nodded, “Of course I am~” She cooed, “I’ve got my hobbit back.” She continued.
Josh laughed a little as his eyes caught sight of an approaching figure, it made him smile a little as he waved. “Look who finally decided to show up!” He mused, “And before the diner closed too.” He continued, watching as Jake shook his head in an unamused way.
Jake wore a set of sunglasses on the top of his head, alongside a white shirt with dark red half sleeves, his hands stuffed in the pockets of his jeans. “Don’t even start…” He lightly said, going to slide into the spot beside Josh.
“Whoa hey now! That spot is saved.” Josh says rather seriously, pointing to sit with (Y/N) across the booth. It was (Y/N)’s turn to roll her eyes, she had heard him say this before. Once Jake had sat down Josh kicked up his feet so he was laying across the whole side of the booth, “My feet thank you.” He hummed.
Josh stared at his brother with clearly tired eyes, “....Dick.” He simply says, earning him a wide grin from Josh.
(Y/N) narrowed her eyes at Josh knowing exactly what he was doing, she shook her head as she looked to Jake. “Hey…” she lightly started, noticing the bags under his eyes. “...oof… rough night?” She inquires,
Jake nodded as he rubbed his eyes, “You could say that.” He muttered,
“Okay, sorry for the delay, it's been busy today. What can I----” Annie had returned and immediately stopped, “Another new person okay!” She uttered, “Do we need another menu?” She asked, clearly looking a little exasperated.
“No, that's okay… I’ll just have a cup of coffee.” Jake says,
“Not hungry?” (Y/N) lightly asked, with an air of concern. Jake didn't respond, his arms simply crossing. (Y/N) didn’t continue to ask anything, she just looked down at the menu quickly, “Uh… I’ll just go with the number three.” She simply says.
“Okay… and for you?” Annie asked looking to Josh,
“Mmmm… the same.” He tells her.
“Alright, well I’ll be back! AGAIN with the coffee I guess.” Annie lightly uttered, turning on her heels.
“That girl deserves a big tip.” (Y/N) utters beginning to dig through her purse again before pulling out a small silver flask. Josh was quick to raise a brow but grin as he pushed his mug to her, excited by the idea of a morning pick me up.
Jake on the other hand looked at her with distaste, “Jesus (Y/N), it’s 11 in the morning.” He whispered,
(Y/N) looked at him before laughing in disbelief, “You expect me to take that from you? Really? I watched you do several shots before our finals.” She chuckled, beginning to pour a little amber liquid into her coffee as well as Josh’s. “Scratch that, you made me join you in doing several shots before our finals.” She continued.
Jake quickly pinched the bridge of his nose knowing she was right, he had a hard time not laughing a little. “That-- that was different. I was stressed.” He tells her,
“Mhm.” She nods, clearly not paying attention to his excuses as she sipped her spiked coffee. “I also remember something else happening that day… what was it…” She uttered in a clearly loaded way, she knew what happened but wanted to trudge it up as painfully as she could.
Josh took his mug, “He puked all over Rebecca M.” He chimed in adding a bit of sugar to his coffee, making (Y/N) grin and Jake snicker a little more clearly, still embarrassed by that. “And then she wreaked of gin for the rest of the day.” Josh cheered.
“Oh god she was so mad…” Jake laughed as he rubbed his eyes,
(Y/N) scoffed, “Of course she was Jake! I don’t think anyone enjoys being thrown up on.” She and Josh began to laugh a little making Jake hide his face away more. They barely noticed as Annie placed the new mug on the table, and snuck away yet again. (Y/N) without a thought poured a touch of the alcohol into Jake’s glass.
The dynamic had always flowed differently when it was the three of them; something about it encouraged more laughter and pulled more memories of funny times, it was how (Y/N) remembered it being with the Kiszka twins. Clearly she had been right to think that despite what had happened between her and the two of them as individuals they could always come back to times like this when they were all together.
"Oh fuck Y/n, you're doing so good" JJ grunts as you speed your pace bouncing your hips against his shaft, riding him like your life depends on it.
Tonight was being just another boring Thursday night at the outer banks, at least until your best friend, JJ Maybank, calls you saying that he was alone at the chateau, and asked you to come over. A few months ago you guys updated your friendship with some benefits, and since then a day without your other Pogue friends means a huge opportunity to enjoy yourselves together, so why not.
"You fill me up so nice J" you moaned tugging his blonde locks while you sank yourself on his cock one more time.
Incredible as it sounds, this is the first time you're riding JJ's cock. After lots of tries, he finally left out his dominant side and let you take control of him, but obviously at some point he would buck his hips and meet your thrusts, making it feel even better. Honestly, he wasn't expecting it to be this good. He loves the way your breasts are pressed against his chest while you move your hips roughly, this position basically gives him a free pass to cover your neck with bites and hickies. And all of this plus your moans filling up the room are driving him insane.
"Fuck, I can't" he breathed out under your ear but you kept with your pace, looking for your high, and you could say it wasn't so far "Y/n, I think I'm gonna- oh fuck"
"What the actual fuck JJ?" you cursed panting when you felt the stick liquid scratching your inside walls and reached your high too.
At the beginning of this 'thing' you were still two good kids who always protected yourselves, but as deep as you dived in each others lusts, you discovered that neither you nor JJ were the biggest fans of condoms, so you made a deal, you can do it without them, as long as he don't release inside of you. And by the looks of it, he just broke the deal.
"Did you just came inside me?" you just aren't freaking out because you're still dizzy from your orgasm
"Shit I think I did" he said by passing his hands through his messy hair and heavy breathing.
"This is not a joke, JJ. Didn't you felt it coming?" you asked in a hard tone while reaching for his shirt to clean yourself up
"It was impossible not to feel it" the blonde answered with a smirk
"Then why don't you warned me, pulled off or whatever?" you now have a worried tone in your voice
"I tried! but come on Y/n, I'm mild high and you were having no mercy with me!" he exclaimed throwing his hands on the air
"Don't put this all on me" you ran your hands through your face and trying to stay calm, realizing the big problem you had just created.
"Hey, I'm sorry okay, even though you were riding me like a goddess, it was my dick who painted you so..." he said getting close to you and wrapping your naked body with his arms.
You softly giggled relaxing a bit with his touch, you know he's worried too, his brain is only a little slower than yours to process information, but you're sure that once he remember that one of the consequences of this "slide" could be an unexpected pregnancy and you becoming parents with 17 years, he'll freak out.
"So what do we do now?" he asked caressing your hair
"Since we're on the cut, without the twinkie and there's none 24-hour drug store in here, we'll go to sleep and wait until tomorrow morning to go buy a next morning pill." you explained what seemed to be the best option now.
"It means you're staying over?" he asked and you nodded smirking "Sounds good to me then"
After that, you guys took a quick shower just to free your bodies from the sweat and other things even more disgusting, and didn't even bothered in putting back your clothes, you just cuddled and fell asleep naked under a thin blanket, because above all, his body's heat still makes you feel safe.
¤¤¤
You can't say that you slept like an angel this night, you were too worried for it. So as soon as you saw the bright light from outside trespass the room, you carefully reached your phone on the nightstand and checked the time, it was almost 8 in the morning. Considering you don't want to be naked with your best friend in the spare room when John B arrives, and that the sooner you take the pill the better, you decided it was time to get up. You slowly pulled JJ's arm away from your waist and stood up without waking him up. You picked your underwear from the floor and put them on, along with your jeans shorts from the day before and lent one of JJ's shirts, the one with a Kildare Marina print. The boy only woke up when you got back from the bathroom, and opened the curtains, basically torturing him.
"Oh come on, what time is it?" he grunted scratching his eyes with the back of his hands.
"Time to fix the previous night, sweetheart" you answered picking up some clothes that were still on the floor.
"Can't we just wait a little more?" he yawned.
"No, we can't, unless you want to increase the chances of me having a mini you on my uterus" you stared him cocking your eyebrows.
"Okay, right, I'm up" he stood up quickly, but he wasn't 100% awake yet.
"Uh, try to put some clothes on, I'll be in the kitchen" you faked a disgusted face pointing to his not too little exposed friend.
While JJ was doing his morning routine, you started looking for something you could eat, but the old pizza slices, mold breads and cereal wastes didn't seem at all attractive to you and your lack of hunger. At that moment the feelings that consume you most are those of concern and guilt, concern because you know that the next morning pill isn't 100% effective, and you definitely can't handle having a baby now, you are too irresponsible for this, and that's why you also feel guilty, because if you wouldn't had accepted that goddamn "no condom" deal, nothing of this will be happening. But suddenly you were dragged away from your thoughts by the sound of the Chateau's front door opening, you could say that John B was trying to be quiet, but it didn't work very well, since the doors of the house are old and creak with any movement.
"Shit!" the brunette whisper-shouted placing a hand on his chest when he entered the kitchen "Wow Y/n, you scared the shit out of me, what are you doing?"
"Uh.... breakfast?" you quirked your eyebrows showing him the cereal box in your hands
"Yeah I can see you're doing your breakfast, 'what are you doing here?' is what I meant" he said placing his keys on the counter.
"I'm waiting for JJ, we have some important things to do" you said staring your cereal bowl, avoiding to meet eyes with your friend.
"JJ? Doing important things this early in the morning?" you pursed your lips in a suggestive smile and nodded your head "And why are you wearing his shirt?"
You almost chocked with milk at the question, stuttering to find a plausible answer "Because... I- spilled toothpaste on mine?" it definitely sounded more like a question.
John B was about to question you again but thank God JJ finally joined you, now wearing his classic boots and cargo shorts, and some random shirt.
"Oh hi Jombie" he said scratching his eyes with the back of his hand.
Before your friend could even answer, you stood up and made your way towards JJ "Finally sleeping beauty, can we go now?" you said linking your arms.
"I was actually craving for some breakfast first" he pointed to the table, where John B was putting some cereal for himself.
"You know what might happen if we get late, don't you?" you whispered quirking your eyebrows and giving the blonde a serious look and heading to the front porch.
"Ok, breakfast can wait, see you later JB, oh and we're taking the twinkie" he grabbed the keys John B had previously dropped on the counter and hushed to meet you outside.
"See ya weirdos" John B shook his head and rolled his eyes seeing the antics of his two best friends.
The drive to the drugstore was silent, but not an awkward silent, more like a reflexing silence. The more you tried to stay calm and shrug off all the "what ifs" in your head, the more the anxiety took hold of you. For JJ, you were going to take the pill and everything would work out, but you know it's not like that, these emergency methods don't always work, and if it doesn't work this time, you have no idea how to deal with a possible pregnancy at 17. What your friends will think when you come clean and tell them about your escapades and that they resulted in your pregnancy? How would you explain this to your parents? How would they react? How JJ's father would react? All this thoughts were zoning out in your brain when a gentle touch stopped you from freaking out. You moved your gaze from the window to JJ's hand rubbing your tight, and then you looked at his face to see a reassuring smile, like saying "it's going to be ok" but without words. You smiled back, feeling the anxious feeling leave your body and mind. It didn't take long for you guys to be parking the van a few meters from the drugstore.
You were about to enter the store when something clicked on your mind "Wait!" you said grabbing JJ's arm, making him stumble on his feet.
"What's wrong?" he frowned staring at you.
"JJ we live on an island. What if someone sees me buying next morning pills? I don't want the whole obx gossiping about me and my sexual slides" you said crossing your arms and looking away from him.
"Okay, I'll do it then" he said and you immediately stared at him, surprised and trying to figure out if he was being serious, just when you were about to complain, he gently squeezed your shoulders "Wait here, I'll be right back"
And just like that you were left alone in front the small store, you looked around, thankfully the street was pretty empty, so you decided to sit down on the curb and wait for him to come back. Which was faster than you expected. As soon as you heard the bell, you got up and waited for him to give you the box that he had in his hands.
"These are just bubble gums" he shrugged rolling his eyes.
"Bubble gums? What the hell JJ?" you laughed in disbelief.
"She said she couldn't sell it for me because I don't have a fucking vagina" JJ protested trying to not be so loud.
You sighed licking your lips. But is better to deal with buying the pill in person, to deal with having a baby. You opened your purse, looking for your sunglasses and when you found them you tapped JJ's shoulder "stay at the door, you'll be my look out"
"At your disposal, boss" he said holding the door while you two entered the store, you put on your glasses trying to disguise a little smirk in your lips.
You slowly walked between the hallways, pretending to be some random costumer, not that you weren't, you just don't want to seem so desperate. When you finally reached the cash counter, you looked over your shoulder to see JJ nodding and giving you tumbs up.
"Hey, can I have a next morning pill?" you mumbled twitching your nose.
"Sorry, I couldn't hear you" the woman on the cashier said.
"A next morning pill, please" this time you were clearer, masking the awkwardness with an even more awkward smirk.
"When did you last have sex?" the cashier asked.
"Last night" you stated, isn't it obvious? you thought to yourself.
"Did you use contraception?" the question made you stomach turn. Why did you have to be so irresponsible? Stupid deal.
"No" your whisper could barely be heard by you, let alone the woman behind the counter.
"Miss, did you use contraception?" she repeated the question after your lack of response.
"No, we didn't" your eyes widened when you heard JJ's voice coming from a few meters away.
Both you and the cashier stared at him, who immediately regretted the previous words "Sorry, I'm just the look out" he scratched the back of his neck.
Returning the attention just between you and the mild-age woman, she made a few more questions and after finishing to fill up your form, she finally gave you the little box with all the prescriptions to take the pill. You also asked for two Pepsi cans for you and JJ, you were about to pay the woman when you felt an around your waist.
"What do you think you're doing, lady?" JJ asked taking your wallet from your hands.
"Well, if you please give my wallet back, I was going to pay for those things" you stared at him trying to reach his other hand behind his back.
"No way, I'll pay for it" he returned the wallet for you and grabbed his own one on his pocket.
"J, you don't have to, it takes two to tango remember?" you protested biting your inner lip and giving him non-intentional puppy eyes.
"Then we should at least split it" he definitely has a point now.
"Okay, fine, you win" you rolled your eyes giving up and earning a grin from your best friend.
¤¤¤
After you and JJ have paid for the pill and your sodas, he said he wanted to go somewhere else, so he drove the twinkie to the old forts on Battery Jasper, some kind of cliff or mountain where we could almost see the entire Outer Banks. You guys sat on some old big rocks and while you struggled against the wind to try to read the pill bull, JJ decided to break the silence.
"Do you think we should break the deal?" he hesitantly asked.
"You mean the 'condom free' deal or all the friends with benefits deal?" you chuckled looking at the paper in your hands.
"Do you want to stop what we've been doing? 'Cause if you do I'm not stopping you, it's just- I really enjoy spending time with you and..." he started rumbling but you soon interupted him.
"Hey! chill out blondie!" you giggled cupping his face with your right hand "We don't need to stop it, even because I like messing around with you too, a lot. We just need to be more careful" you explained.
"Okay..." he relaxed with your touch and you two shared a smile and stared at each other for a few seconds.
You cleared your throat when you remembered that you were the one hurrying him up and now you almost forgot that you have a pill to take asap. You opened your Pepsi and medicine, putting the pill on your tongue and taking a sip of the drink to help you swallow. JJ watched you and while you were drinking again you heard little laughter coming from him.
"What?" you gave him a suspicious look.
"Nothing" he giggled making you narrow your eyes at him "I just imagined us being arrested for killing a poor little baby"
"So would you prefer waking up at 3am to changing diapers?" you laughed arching you eyebrows.
"Ew, no" you both erupted in laughter, you love the way you and JJ never feel awkward, not even in scary moments like these.
When you recovered from your crisis of laughter, you took a deep breath and felt a grip on your tight, you looked up to see JJ staring at the horizon, and you could say that he was thinking about something.
"You know, I would like to have a baby with you" he said with a shy grin.
"Oh come on J, give it a rest" you shook your head chuckling and taking another sip of your drink.
"No, I meant it! Of course not right now, but if we reach our thirties without meeting our perfect pairs, we could marry each other and just maybe have a little bit of kids" he said nonchantly.
"A little bit of kids?" you smiled and stared at him, trying to figure if he was being serious or not "I can't believe you're real Maybank" you giggled.
"What? Have you never heard that people are happier when they marry their best friends?" he suggested.
"Maybe" you shrugged looking away.
"So what? Do we have a deal?" he bit his lip quirking his eyebrows in your direction.
"I'm not making anymore deals with you, blondie" you said, immediately seeing his happy face fall to a sad one "But maybe, just maybe, I liked your idea" you smirked turning your face to look at him.
"I knew it!" he cheered with a kiss on your cheek and clicking your cans he said "To our future possible marriage"
"Cheers" you gave a little laugh, which was interrupted by your phone ringing.
As soon as you unlocked your screens, you were surprised with dozens of notifications on your twitter, and also 2 messages from John B, you opened them first.
Jombie 🏄‍♂‍: so is that the "important things" you guys had to do? am i missing something?
Jombie 🏄‍♂‍: 📷 Photo
When you downloaded the file, you came across a screenshot, it was from Topper's last tweet: a picture taken from outside the drugstore, through the glass wall, you and JJ standing in front of the cash counter, his arm on your waist, and thanks god, only the two Pepsi cans could be seen on the counter. Your eyes widened even more when you read the caption "Looks like Maybank and Y/l/n finally assumed their shit! What would those lovebirds be doing on a drugstore this early in the morning?"
"What happened?" JJ asked seeing how your expression went blank looking at your phone.
"Weren't you supposed to be the look out?" you said turning your phone to him and pointing to the screen blowing with notifications, but still showing the picture on Topper's tweet.
"Shit."
They have some things to explain now, or maybe some good excuses to came up with.
Pairing: Echo X Reader
Warnings: Some language, insinuations of sexual activities (I don’t know if that’s the right wording necessarily, but there it is), mentions of nightmares, loss, and grieving.
Word Count: 3,836
A/N: So, I'm not sure what all devices in the Star Wars universe are called, and in order to not sound completely inept, I decided to just describe the devices' functions instead of naming them and seeing as I've never come across some of these types of devices in Star Wars, I figured this was the best way to go. I hope that makes sense. Also, I have added a lyric video below for reference. I was initially going to just link an already existing lyric video for the song, but then I just decided to make one instead, using some visuals that better fit the content. Which then meant I had to create a Youtube channel just to upload the thing and link it here, because it wouldn’t let me upload directly from my laptop. 🤷🏼‍♀️ So that's there if anyone wants it, and I now have a Youtube channel for my longer edits.
It was one of those nice, quiet evenings, the kind you didn't get very often ever since you started working with The Bad Batch. They weren't necessarily the rowdiest bunch of clones you'd met, but they did seem to always find a way to interrupt you and your boyfriend's alone time.
It seemed like every time you and Echo found a quiet moment where it was just the two of you, one, if not the whole lot, of them would come barging in out of nowhere, needing something or another. Although, you were pretty sure Wrecker just did it because he thought it was funny to annoy you, and knowing that fact only annoyed you more, but you'd let it slide, always reassuring yourself that there would be a next time, one that wouldn't be intruded upon. It seemed that tonight was one of those times, seeing as the four commandos were off gathering supplies at the nearby village of the planet you were temporarily taking residence on, and you were planning on making the most of it while you could.
It didn't take you long to locate your boyfriend, despite your first impressions the Havoc Marauder was not that big of a craft, so there were only so many places he could be. You found him in the communal sleeping quarters, sitting on the bunk you two shared, datapad in hand reading something or another, as usual. You had been given your own bunk, but after your first week with the group, you realized that you preferred to just sleep together. You both had a little trouble sleeping and found that sleeping in one another's embrace seemed to keep the nightmares at bay and gave you both a much more restful sleep.
You walked over and sat beside him, sliding your arms around his middle and holding him as you rested your head on his shoulder. He chuckled and wrapped the nearest arm around you, keeping you close as he continued to read.
You smiled and let out a contented sigh. Moments like this were rare alright, which is what made you appreciate them more when they did occur. It was just nice to be able to have a sweet moment with your love without a joke being made, or the always popular, "Get a room" comment.
"Would love to", you'd say, "Only problem is, it just so happens to be everyone's room."
"Damn, doesn't that bite the big one", would come Crosshair's snide remark, as he shook his head, mocking you like the snarky ass he was.
It was a good thing that deep down you really did like these guys, or you would've kicked some asses long ago.
You reveled in this quiet moment for a while longer before peeking at the datapad in his hand and asking, "So, what are you reading this time, anything interesting, or just more boring rule books?"
He laughed and shook his head. "You know, I don't just read reg manuals", he responded, turning his head to give you a smirk.
You shrugged. "I know, but you definitely read them a lot more than anyone else I know. I'm not even sure if some of the boys have ever read them actually."
He laughed again and you smiled at the sound. "Well, I'd like to think I've been branching out more lately with my literary escapades. I'm at least trying to be more fun, wouldn't want your book worm of a boyfriend boring you to death", he said, leaning into you with a light shove before straightening up again.
You chuckled and held him a bit tighter. "Yeah, you're a book worm alright, but you’re my book worm, and you’re not boring love, far from it", you said as you pulled your head from his shoulder to meet his gaze.
His eyes softened as he looked into yours, silently thanking you for the praise. He leaned his face to yours and kissed you lovingly, and with so much softness it almost hurt when he pulled away.
You just gazed into each other's eyes for a minute before you remembered why you'd come to find him in the first place.
You unwrapped your arms from around him. "Speaking of trying to be more fun, I have something fun we could do", you said with a bright smile.
He eyed you curiously. "Oh yeah, what did you have in mind?"
You rose from the bunk to stand in front of him, grabbing the datapad from his flesh hand and tossing it on the pillow beside him, taking the now empty hand and his cybernetic one in yours and pulling him to his feet.
"You are going to indulge your girlfriend, who's been waiting all day for this mind you, with a dance", you replied, smile still taking over your features.
He cocked an eyebrow, as if your response surprised him. "Huh, definitely not what I thought you were going to say", he said.
"And what did you think I was going to say", you asked with a smirk as you went to your original bunk above your shared one and pulled out a small electronic device, typing away on it, searching for something.
"Well, I, um... I thought, uh...", Echo stammered, as he rubbed the back of his neck, still searching for the right words. He cleared his throat before saying, "Uh, nothing, nothing, so a dance, huh?"
You shook your head and chuckled at his nervous behavior, you knew exactly what he thought you'd meant, but you weren't going to embarrass him any further.
"Yes, a dance", you replied, finding the audio file you'd been searching for and pulling it up. You then connected the device to the small amplifying device on the table across the room.
"That sounds nice cyare, but I don't know how to dance", he confessed shyly.
You smiled and looked to him. "Then I'll teach you", you told him, pressing on the file to play it and setting the device back on the bed.
As the soft music filled the room, you walked to your now flustered looking boyfriend, taking him by the hand and then slowly guiding him to take your hips. He didn't hesitate to do so, and as he rested his hands on you, and you placed yours around his neck, a light blush rose on his cheeks. He always got like this when you two did anything even remotely intimate. It baffled you that after this long of being together, and after doing much more than this, that he'd be this worked up over, what you saw as, a simple act. But maybe it wasn't so simple to him, maybe the years of touch deprivation had him craving it more than you realized, and add the emotion behind the action, the love you felt transferring between the two of you in something as small as a glance, and you could understand his reaction. This realization had you thanking whatever powers at be for bringing you two together, allowing you to be that person for him, because it was truly a gift, one you wouldn't take for granted.
You began to slowly sway your body from side to side, coaxing him to follow your movements. As you both found the right pace and swayed in time to the song's slow rhythm, you listened to the words being sung and let your mind wander, the words bringing memories to the surface of your consciousness.
Oh, thinkin' about our younger years,
There was only you and me,
We were young and wild and free.
You remembered when you'd first met Echo, back when he was a new addition to the 501st. A young trooper, who's dream was to one day receive ARC statues. You had become fast friends, and after only a few months it was clear that your friendship had grown into something more. It was obvious you two had feelings for each other, the only people who were blind to this were you and Echo. A problem that was soon remedied by his brother, Fives, who had all but forced Echo to admit how he felt to you, which he did, albeit, with quite a bit of struggle on his part, the poor guy could barely get his words out. Luckily, you had caught on to what he was trying to say, and took pity on him, deciding to take this opportunity to tell him that you felt the same.
You still remember the look of surprise on his face at your confession, he hadn't believed it at first, but when you plucked up the courage to grab him by the chest plate and pull him into a tender kiss, he knew you weren't lying, and this had his heart soaring.
Now nothing can take you away from me.
We've been down that road before,
But that's over now.
You keep me comin' back for more.
After the battle to defend Kamino, Echo had finally gotten what he'd been working so hard to achieve, he had been promoted to ARC Trooper, and you couldn't have been happier for him. You remember him coming into your station of the hangar to tell you the good news.
You'd been working on fixing up some loose wiring on a transport ship when you were suddenly lifted from the ground and the world spun around you. After a moment of disorientation, you found your bearings and stared up at the culprit, only to find your boyfriend beaming down at you.
"Woah, where's the fire", you asked in jest.
"No fire, just have some good news", he responded, still smiling wide.
"Oh, ok then, spill."
"We did it", he said simply.
"Umm, ok, who did what exactly", you asked, furrowing your brows in confusion.
"Fives and I, we're being made ARC Troopers", he said, his chest puffing out a bit with pride.
"What, that's great", you practically shouted, and pulled him into a tight embrace. "I knew you could do it; you've worked so hard, you deserve this. I'm so happy for you, you're finally getting your dream."
He squeezed you tighter. "Thank you, and thank you for always believing in me, even when I didn't", he said quietly.
You pulled back to look at him before speaking. "I'll always believe in you Echo. Always and forever."
That was your thing, the mantra of your relationship, if you will, "I'll love you always and forever". This was because you both believed it to be true. Neither one of you could see yourselves falling for anyone else or loving another the way you did each other.
“Always and forever cyare”, he said, smiling softly at you, “And now I can focus on my other dream.”
You gave him confused look. “Other dream, what’s your other dream”, you asked.
His smile grew as he leaned in to speak low in your ear. “You”, he said, making your stomach do a somersault.
You knew it would be difficult, but you two wanted to plan a future together, and spend whatever time you had left together making a family and living a quiet, happy life. Once this miserable war was over, that's exactly what you were going to do.
Unfortunately, things don't always work out the way we want them to, and your dreams of a peaceful life with your beloved were shattered when the day came that the 501st returned from their mission on Lola Sayu, minus an ARC Trooper.
Oh, once in your life you'll find someone,
Who will turn your world around,
Pick you up when you're feelin' down.
Now nothing can change what you mean to me.
There's a lot that I could say,
But just hold me now.
Fives had been the one to give you the dreadful news and had stayed to help you through the initial shock and pain of it all. He had been ready for the inevitable tears he knew would come and did they ever. You couldn't remember a time before that, where you had cried with as much vigor or to the extent that you had, when shedding tears for your lost love.
I've been waiting for so long,
For somethin' to arrive,
For love to come along.
Time seemed to pass by agonizingly slow, as you tried to regain some semblance of normalcy in your life. Having both lost the person you held dear, you and Fives had found a new understanding for one another, and subsequently formed a close bond. He was the friend you desperately needed, just as you were for him. So, when you eventually lost him as well, you were beside yourself with grief.
Instead of wallowing in your sorrow, like you wanted to, you decided to throw yourself into your work, trying desperately to keep yourself busy, so as to not give yourself time to think of what you had lost. This worked most of the time, but there were always those times when something would remind you of them, a laugh that was just too close to the one you remembered, or a smile from a kind trooper that hit too close to home. Then there were those nights where you would wake from a nightmare and reach out beside you for a comforting hand, only to find empty space, those times were the hardest. It took everything you had inside you to just keep on going, because you knew that they wouldn't have wanted you to give up, so you carried on, even when it hurt.
Now our dreams are comin' true,
Through the good times and the bad,
I'll be standin' there by you.
It had been a year since the mission on Lola Sayu, a year of you trying to get on with your life, and forget the past, because remembering only caused you more pain. But life has a funny, if not sadistic, way of turning on its head and changing your course when you least expect it, because soon after that year mark, you received the news you never thought you'd get.
"He's alive", Rex said, eyes boring into yours, trying to get you to believe what he was telling you, but you weren't about to give in that easily.
"What you're saying is impossible, both you and Fives told me you saw him die at the citadel, and now you're telling me he miraculously survived. I'm not buying it, and I don't appreciate you trying to get my hopes up, just so they can be ripped back down once you're proven wrong", you said, with more venom in your voice than you had intended.
"I know I'm right on this one, (Y/N). I heard him, it was Echo's voice on that transmission, I'm sure of it", he reiterated, desperate for you to listen, or to at least consider it to be true.
"I'm sorry Rex, but I just can't believe what you're saying. I can't take another blow, I just can't, because if I do, I fear I won't make it out the other side this time" you said as tears began to fill your eyes.
Rex placed a comforting hand on your shoulder. "I understand, but I promise you, I'm telling the truth, Echo is alive, and I'm going to bring him home, I'm going to bring him back to you", he said, with so much conviction that you almost believed him, almost.
"Don't make promises you can't keep", you told him despondently.
He looked you in the eye, a determined expression on his face. "I intend to keep this one", he said, and he did.
No more than two days later, the team sent on the rescue mission to Skako Minor returned, with Echo.
You couldn't believe your eyes when Rex took you to see him in the med bay. He was different, that was for sure, but he was still Echo, he was still the man you loved, and you were just glad he was home.
And Baby you're all that I want,
When you're lying here in my arms,
I'm finding it hard to believe,
We're in heaven.
During his first mission, after being back, he had proven to still be the loyal soldier he had always been and had unofficially been dubbed the "Hero of Anaxes" for his brave actions.
After this mission he had also been extended the invitation to join The Bad Batch by their sergeant, which he wanted to accept, but not if it meant leaving you behind. So, Echo convinced the commandos that having a mechanic around wouldn't be such a bad idea, and they agreed.
That's how you ended up here, the mechanic onboard the Havoc Marauder, who was currently being held in the arms of the person she loved most in this galaxy, swaying to the soft music filling the air around them, in total bliss.
Love is all that I need,
And I found it there in your heart.
It isn't too hard to see,
We're in heaven.
Your head had been resting against Echo's chest, as you listened to the steady heartbeat beneath it. You never wanted this moment to end, and by the way he was holding you, without any indication of ever letting go, you were pretty sure he felt the same.
You lifted your head to look up at him, while keeping yourself flush against him, needing the contact to silently remind yourself that he was still here, he was with you. Something you still had a hard time believing from time to time, but it was real, he was here, and you were never letting go.
It had been some time since Anaxes, not a tremendous amount, but enough time where you could see a noticeable change in your boyfriend's appearance. He had filled out more and looked a lot less gaunt than he had initially upon his return. His color had improved as well, not fully, but with enough time, you were sure, he'd regain his copper glow. His hair was the other noticeable change, it had started to grow out again, and while it hadn't gotten to the length it was, there was enough where you could easily run your fingers through it, as you often did, absentmindedly.
This thought caused your hand to move of its own accord and slot itself amongst the short curls adorning his head. He gave a contented sigh as you started mindlessly running your fingers over his scalp, scratching lightly, and he leaned into your touch as his eyes closed, this always relaxed him.
After a moment, he opened his eyes to look at you, a soft smile taking shape over his features, before lowering his head to rest it against yours, both of you shutting your eyes to revel in the moment.
We're in heaven.
The music faded and soon the room fell silent. You both ceased your swaying but continued to stay in the embrace.
After what felt like an eternity, but had only been a few seconds, you broke the silence and said, "I love you Echo."
He smiled and replied, "I love you (Y/N). Always and forever."
You gave a smile of your own, the words bringing you back to those early days of your relationship, when anything was possible, and your future was bright. It could be that way again, now that you were together again, nothing was impossible.
"Always and forever", you echoed back.
With that, he closed the small gap between you and brought you into a passionate kiss.
Everything that had gone unspoken was expressed in this kiss; all the love and adoration that had built between you two over the years, all the pain that you both endured during your separation, all the missed time, and the promise that you would never be parted again, and that you would continue to strive for the future you two had planned so long ago. You were happier than you'd ever been and nothing could ruin this moment.
Suddenly, as if the universe itself wanted to prove you wrong, the door slid open and in walked all four commandos, with Wrecker in the lead.
"See, I told ya we'd find them doin' some sappy stuff", Wrecker said in his booming voice, effectively breaking your quiet moment, and your kiss, which in turn, pissed you off.
You both gave an annoyed sigh before turning to face the men. You crossed your arms over your chest and gave your best scowl in their direction, which only caused Wrecker to laugh. He'd so be getting an ass kicking later.
"Let's just be glad we didn't walk in on something... more intimate", Crosshair said, eyeing the both of you while giving a sly grin.
You let out an annoyed huff. "Yeah, you wish", you retorted, which only earned you a chuckle from the sniper. Okay, add another one to the "people who need an ass kicking" list. "I think you're both just jealous", you said, trying to make it sound snarky.
"Of this guy", Wrecker asked as he walked over, clapping his hand down on Echo's shoulder. "Damn straight, I mean, he’s got a bombshell for a girlfriend, how could we not be, he's one lucky bastard", he said, although you couldn't quite tell if he was being sarcastic or not. Either way it ticked you off, but before you could throw the punch you had geared up for, Echo pulled you to him, holding you securely against him and effectively blocking your way to the giant commando.
"Easy cyare, no need for bloodshed, and besides, he has a point", he said, leaning in and lowering his voice, "I am a very lucky man."
You shook your head at him but couldn't help the grin that formed at his words.
"Okay, that's enough boys, let's give the happy couple some privacy shall we. Besides, Wrecker, it's your turn to make dinner", Hunter interrupted, giving his brother a stern look.
"Oh man, again, I thought I just did that", Wrecker grumbled.
"You did, when it was your turn last week", Tech told him matter-of-factly.
Wrecker made a noise of aggravation before leaving the room, mumbling incoherently in displeasure. The other two followed him out, as you gave Hunter a thankful smile before he nodded and made his exit, letting the door slide shut behind him.
You turned back to Echo, who still had you in his embrace.
"So, where were we", you inquired, a soft smile back on your face.
He feigned ponderment. "Hmm, I believe we were right about...", he began, and suddenly pulled you close enough that your noses were touching, "Here", he finished, his smile widening before bringing you in for another heated kiss. You melted into it and fell into another state of bliss.
You stayed like that for another long moment, as the world faded around you. Wrapped in a loving embrace, engaged in an impassioned kiss, and lost in your own personal heaven.
Daisy Chains and Daydreams
Pairings: Mostly Moxiety but with some Logince as well because I love them and couldn't resist
Content : Fluff, Probably a bit long winded but it's the first fic I've ever finished 😅, mentions of food as a potential CW, as well as mentions of anxiety/panic attacks as well as general feelings of mild anxiety
Word count : 1960, jus a little one shot :)
"I'm boredddddd" groaned Roman, leaning his head back so that it rested on Logan's lap. Logan flinched slightly at the gesture, but was able to keep his composure well enough not to let out the squeak playing on his lips.
"I suppose today has been rather slow" he replied, turning a page from his novel without looking up. Virgil and Patton walked into the room quietly, perhaps hoping that the other sides would not have noticed their absence. No such luck, unfortunately.
"Hmm, Winnie the Blue and Patty-Cake," Roman began with a smirk "Couldn't help but notice that the two of you were, should I say, mysteriously absent?" Virgil simply shot him a death glare, where Patton looked sheepishly down at the carpet, a blush forming upon his freckled cheeks. God. His freckles. Typically his face was clear and bright, but on the odd summer where the sun shone a little brighter, they appeared. Virgil, as should surely be apparent, was a fan. Before they had gotten together, he often lay awake at night staring up at the ceiling, imaging tracing every single one beneath his fingers.
Virgil collapsed in an undignified heap on the couch. He, as the most cynical side, was not a fan of weather in general, but he despised these summer months. How was he supposed to maintain his edgy persona without a hoodie to pull over his head when he had had enough with Logan and Roman's nonsensical bickering? The only thing that had convinced him that dying of heatstroke was not the way to go was Patton tentatively offering up one of his many identical blue shirts.
Patton sat down next to his boyfriend, sliding his fingers into Virgil's and tracing his thumb in gentle circles on the top of his hands. The one gesture that was sure to make Virgil melt. As if he wasn't already doing that in this ridiculous heat. He looked up at Patton, the softest of smiles on his face. In return, Patton gave his usual wide, brighter than the sun itself, grin.
"Hey everyone! I had an idea!" he suddenly burst out, as if the thought had just entered his mind and he had to get it out before it left again.
"Yeah Pat?" asked Virgil softly, a light blush emerging just barely visible underneath his foundation when he saw the identical smirks on Roman and Logan's faces. Patton of course, noticed this. He gave Virgil a look the two of them had come up with together, asking with his eyes if Virgil was ok with this or if he needed to stop. Reassured by the slightest nod of Virgil's head, he continued,
"Why don't we go for a picnic? It'll be fun, and with the breeze it'll be cooler out there than it is in here!" Patton giggled, practically clapping his hands in excitement. There it was again. The ache in his face. Virgil, despite his reservations, had absolutely no intention of giving one of his typical cynical remarks that would have no doubt have been rewarded should any of the other sides been the one to suggest the concept. Logan and Roman both at the same time had said
"Sure!" causing them to blush and turn away from one another. Patton had been badgering Virgil for weeks to let him help set them up, but Virgil had gently insisted that this was something for them to discover in their own time.
"Let's do it," Virgil said, his voice starting out very quiet but becoming a little louder as he continued "It could actually be fun" Patton all but squealed with joy as he jumped up to prepare the food. That was another thing Virgil's mind would often wander to.
They could all cook to some degree. But Logan followed the recipes so meticulously and to every minor detail that the food was often a little bland, Roman had a bad gague of how hot was too hot, and Virgil, naturally, was petrified by the idea of burning himself on the hot stove. When Patton stepped up to the stove, however, it was like a whole other world. One could taste the pure love worked into every bite. The sides would typically cook for themselves, but if one was having a particularly rough day, or if they got sick, then Patton's cooking was sure to make them feel better. Virgil often received it after a panic attack, and more often than not it was the thing that grounded him.
"Oi, Panic at the everywhere, go get ready!" Roman's voice cut through Virgil's thoughts. The nickname still bothered him somewhat, but he could tell Roman was making the effort to be a little nicer to him.
"Alright Princey, if you insist." he smirked, sinking out and back into his room. He wasn't the biggest fan of wearing shorts, but he knew wearing jeans probably wasn't his best idea. He pulled on some loosely fitting jean shorts and, of course, Patton's blue shirt stayed on. He sat for a second on his bed, no longer feeling the need to repress his smiles now that he was alone. Patton saw them; when Virgil was with his boyfriend he couldn't keep them in, but he still felt a little wary around Logan and Roman. They had accepted him, but as the anxious side he still had his reservations. As he sat, Patton suddenly appeared at his side.
"Virge, are you ready to go? We're leaving soon!"
"Gah, Pat! What have we said about appearing in here with no warning?" Virgil exclaimed, but with no real bite to his voice Patton knew he was only kidding.
"C'mon, c'mon, c'mon! This is gonna be so much fun!" Patton giggled, pulling at Virgil's hands. Virgil would never in a million years admit it, but secretly he found Patton's somewhat childish nature the cutest possible thing.
Before they got to their picnic spot, they had a short walk to complete. Roman and Logan forged ahead, arguing about something Virgil didn't understand, nor did he really care about. He was with Patton, and he felt safe. Their hands were loosely intertwined, their pinky fingers locked but not so tightly that Virgil could not pull away should he feel the need. It had taken a little bit of time and a lot of clear communication, but Patton was now very good and understanding of the way his boyfriend felt about affection. He craved it deeply but it often overwhelmed him. But right now, Virgil was quite possibly the calmest he had ever been. The two didn't exchange many words as they walked side by side, only the occasional comment on the beautifully scenic park, or a stifled giggle between themselves as Roman or Logan would make some loud statement.
Finally, the close-knit group of friends found the place they were seeking. They stood in a little alcove discovered by Patton and Virgil on their first official date (by that point they had actually been on about seven, but Virgil was not exactly good at reading the room and thought Patton was just being friendly. Friends kissed on the forehead goodbye, didn't they?). Tall willow trees encircled them. The space was small, but not so small that it felt uncomfortable for their slightly larger than usual party. But what Patton and Virgil unanimously agreed was the best part was the daisies. They grew here wild and free, mostly white and pure but with some pink and some purple, exciting and joyful.
"Thank goodness! I understand that being fit and healthy is necessary for me to remain the most handsome Prince in all the land," Virgil barely stifled a snicker, "but seriously guys? Now I see why your dates always take such a long time!" Logan said nothing, but gratefully slumped onto the soft grassy ground. All those long hours and late nights working tirelessly on his computer did not leave optimal time for exercise.
"Ok everyone, food time! I know it was a little short notice but I hope you all like what I've prepared for us!" Patton said, grinning. Virgil looked inquisitively into the basket that Patton had carried with them for their whole journey. And just. Wow.
Sandwiches in the flavours each side liked best, as well as at least five different types of cookies, and best of all? A rather respectably sized vanilla cake. Their favourite. Roman clapped his hands, Logan raised his eyebrows with a pleasant surprise, and Virgil once again gave his tiny smile. Just a slightly lifted corner of his mouth, but still one Patton recognised well. His own mouth initially mirrored Virgil's, but his smile only grew from there into the one the sides knew so well.
"Alright everyone, dig in!" Of course, no convincing was needed here.
After having stuffed themselves silly, the group sat on the ground, quiet and content. Even Logan, who at this point during an outing would typically be badgering the sides to get back so that he could finish his next series of extraordinary projects, simply closed his eyes and looked up, barely concealing his satisfied smile. With his closed eyes, he did not notice the barely concealed glances of pure adoration given to him by Roman.
Virgil sat propped against a tall, sturdy willow tree, staring at Patton's back lovingly, quietly pondering what the taller side was doing: his back hunched slightly, humming a tune to himself. Within less than five minutes of wondering, he had his answer.
"Uh, Pat? What's this?" he stared in mild confusion at the interwoven daisies sitting in a loop against his pale wrist as Patton looked at him with soft eyes.
"It's a daisy chain! See, I wove them together like this!" As Virgil sat patiently listening as his boyfriend weaved together the pretty little flowers, a thought wandered to the front of his mind. "How on earth did I get so lucky?" Overcome by emotions and bravery, he dared to utter,
"Pat, is it ok if I kiss you?" As Patton gave him an unreadable look for just a few seconds, he wondered if he had crossed a line. But suddenly, he was rewarded with an enthusiastic
"Of course!" and a pair of lips on his own. As Patton eventually leaned back from the kiss to regain some of his air, he suddenly stared at Virgil intensely.
"Uh, y-yes, Pat, what is it?"
"Your eyeshadow, it's purple!" Patton conjured a mirror, shyly holding it up to a stunned Virgil's face.
"And it is. The credit for this one goes to you, Pat." Patton, clearly thrilled but wanting to make sure his boyfriend was comfortable, opted, instead of saying a word, to lay his head down in Virgil's lap, looking up at him with what could only be described as pure adoration. In that moment, it was just them. Roman and Logan's quiet chatter faded into a barely audible whisper, the bird song silenced. They were together, and they were in love. A realisation that would later strike Virgil, and he would spend many am hour wondering how best to say so to Patton, but for now, they sat happily.
But what was the most exciting thing about the beautiful day they all shared together was that by the end of it, as Patton layed his head on Virgil's legs, Virgil saw Roman and Logan's tentatively intertwined hands, the awkward but hopeful smiles on their lips. Virgil decided not to tell Patton right now. Because at this moment, with his hands gently running through his boyfriends soft hair, a daisy chain around his wrist, he felt calm. He felt happy. Maybe tomorrow things would change, but just this once, Virgil decided it was alright to focus on today.
Note
it's only been two days and i'm already missing whumptober 😔i am craving sneezefucker phoenix so like... if you're interested 👀
Anon I love you and also of course I’m interested :3
Your wish shall be granted under the cut.
     Phoenix drummed the table with his fingers. He knew Miles wanted to make this a particularly special dinner, being their first night out since Phoenix had earned his badge back, but Miles was taking so long to arrive that Phoenix wondered if there was a mix-up in how the couple interpreted the reservation time.
The hostess took him to his table fine enough, so Phoenix knew he wasn’t the one who had misinterpreted the time. Why didn’t he and Miles just take the car and arrive together? Phoenix sighed through his nose and checked his phone, pleased to see Miles at least sent him an update.
Going to be late, love. Just left my last errand; on my way now. Sincerely, Miles Edgeworth.
The timestamp was a minute ago, which meant, depending on distance and traffic, Miles could be at the restaurant anywhere from five minutes to a half hour.
Phoenix took another sip of the sparkling grape juice he thought was in a far too expensive glass for a nonalcoholic beverage. It wasn’t that he couldn’t have ordered wine, which would have been more appropriate; he didn’t even drive, anyway. He just had a hunch that if Miles were to keep him waiting for long, he’d find himself absentmindedly sipping to the point of being inebriated before Miles even arrived.
He knew well enough it wasn’t polite to stare, but Phoenix found his eyes wandering, imagining what conversations the other elegantly dressed diners could be having. It may not have been the most mature thing to do, but it passed the time.
Was that... Winston Payne and his wife? So it was true Payne’s wife was quite the catch, like an older version of the models Larry would attract somehow. Phoenix ducked his head as soon as Mrs. Payne turned her head in his direction.
“HrnxXT... gh.” The sound of a stifled sneeze perked Phoenix’s ears enough for him to look up.
“Hey, what took you so long?” Phoenix should’ve known the instant he felt his face heat up at the sight of a map of pink on Miles’s face, most prevalent under his eyes, just barely visible behind his glasses. Of course, if Phoenix wasn’t, well, Phoenix, he’d know from the large bouquet Miles was barely hiding behind his back. “Babe, you shouldn’t have.” Miles really shouldn’t have, for both the obvious reason and the fact they were in public.
“Do you like theb?” Miles’s smile contrasting with the clearly irritated features of his face made Phoenix want to stare for a longer time than what would be comfortable. He placed the bouquet carefully in the vase the restaurant had provided for romantic gestures such as this. “Flowers have a whole ladguage, I’ve heard. The florist said... saihhh-- HH’RnnXT!! HhNNXTT... guh. Excuse be. She said this bouquet was perfect for todight.” He sat across from Phoenix, almost giving him a show as he sniffed.
“Uuhh-huh,” was all Phoenix could coax out of his mouth. He anxiously fumbled his hands inside his suit jacket pocket. When Miles helped him pick out his new suit for work, a set of handkerchiefs accompanied the purchase, so at least one of them resided in each pocket Phoenix owned. He normally wouldn’t dare offer one for a purpose other than wiping lingering raindrops off Miles’s glasses, but tissue boxes were not exactly a common find at such an elegant establishment. Without another word, he presented the square of soft cloth with both hands, thinking how he could just die right here.
“Oh, thagk you, sweetheart.” Miles had to use some force to pry the handkerchief from Phoenix’s tight grip. He was just barely in time to use it for an extended stifling effort. “HhrrNNKTT! HnnXTT! HnggXXT!! HggKXTT... gh.” There was a wet quality that could be heard each time he pinched his nose.
Phoenix would have focused on eye contact with Miles if it weren’t for those glistening allergic tears making his face almost as damp as the handkerchief against his nose. Oh god, he was rubbing his eyes with his thumb and index finger.
“W-What do you want to order, hon?” Phoenix choked on his words. Miles was doing this to him on purpose, wasn’t he? The prosecutor may have been the type to show his affection with gifts from time to time, but Phoenix would eat his hat if this was merely a romantic gesture. “Um, bless you, by the way.”
“Oh, I’m hardly done.” Miles laughed, again going right for Phoenix’s racing heart. “There’s a lobster dish made especially for couples to share, if you’re interested.”
“I’m very interested!” Phoenix slapped his hand to his mouth and cleared his throat. “In the lobster dish, I mean.” He heard that light wet sniffle that served as a warning another fit was on its way.
“Just a moment, love.” Miles held the handkerchief slightly farther away, giving Phoenix full view of his twitching pre-sneeze expression. “HiigGXTT! HigkXNTT! HrgxxNTT... kh.”
“I don’t think, um,” Phoenix swallowed, “stifling like that is good for you.”
“Look at where we are.” Miles used both hands to hold the handkerchief when blowing his nose into it. He had to know he was driving Phoenix wild.
Why wouldn’t he look at where they were?
“Oh, uh, the server’s coming to our table!” Phoenix frantically waved his hand to let the server know he and Miles were ready, desperately needing to take his mind off everything Miles was doing to him.
“Are you alright, sir?” The server’s voice was gentle enough on Phoenix’s ears to distract him from his mind’s broken record of Miles’s recent stifles.
“I’m fine, ma’am!” Phoenix blurted out. If he looked anything like how he felt right now, he was sure someone ought to have called an ambulance by now.
“I mean your date.” She smiled.
“Oh, it’s nothing.” Miles shrugged. “Just hay fever.”
He said that. He really said that. Yup, Phoenix was definitely going to die here.
The server glanced over at the full vase and made a face without saying anything. She proceeded to take the couple’s order, periodically blessing Miles after every single sneeze interrupting his inquiries on various wines. When she left, Phoenix let out a heavy sigh of relief.
“Why didn’t you take anything, babe? If you really wanted to give me flowers, you could have taken some precautions.” Phoenix avoided saying anything that would make him even more flustered than he was now. Had he already crossed the threshold of merely being flustered? Most likely, yes.
“I was under the impression we would be drinking tonight.” Miles gently dabbed his eyes with one of the few dry corners of the handkerchief. “Antihistamines greatly lower my alcohol tolerance.”
“I thought that was just you being a lightweight.” Phoenix laughed nervously.
“Tonight is very special, after all. Why not celebrate?”
“Yeah, I guess it is.” Phoenix finished off his grape juice so as to not make a waste before the wine would be delivered. “Our first date since I got my badge back. It means so much to me that you’ve been such a great help, to both me and Trucy all these years.” Phoenix caressed Miles’s hands from across the table. “Thank you so much.”
“I think it could be--” Phoenix’s grip tightened as he watched Miles’s expression change, preventing Miles from pulling away for another stifle. “Sweetheart, I need t-to... HH’RRSHHOOOH! HU’RRSHCHOO! H’RRSSHOO!!”
Phoenix was so caught up in his fascination that it hardly dawned on him how quiet his surroundings became after Miles sneezed. Luck was in his favor when he only came back to the moment once the diners shrugged off the noise and returned to their own conversations.
“I hate to say it, but that felt a lot better.” Miles blew his nose again. Did he always get this pink when his allergies were acting up for this long? That shade of pink was taking up a rank in Phoenix’s favorite colors.
The stellar customer service advertised in the online reviews was evident with the quick arrival of both the wine and meal. Other than Phoenix’s quick glance at the server to thank her, he couldn’t keep his eyes off Miles.
He had every opportunity to steal an extra bite each time he saw Miles hopelessly, furiously rubbing under his nose, but he abstained. He thought back to Miles teasing him for being in a similar situation when the two visited Phoenix’s mother, whose family of cats seemed to grow every time they visited her. Of course, the comments Miles made then were mostly regarding the irony of Phoenix’s circumstances rather than the temptation to steal the last slice of Mrs. Wright’s homemade pumpkin pie.
Phoenix felt a pleasurable tingling in his mouth that forced him to smile as he swallowed some wine, not losing eye contact with Miles for even a moment.
“Phoenix Wright.” Miles using his full name grabbed Phoenix’s full attention to bring him to his senses. “I think I’ve had you on the edge of your seat long enough.”
What was this about? He was messing with him after all, wasn’t he?
“You think?” Phoenix’s voice cracked.
Miles smirked and stood up. He sent Phoenix’s heart out of his chest by leaning forward, face first into the bouquet, looking for something inside. So he meant Phoenix on the edge of his seat just waiting to keel over?
“Ah here it is.” Miles looked up, even more pink and dripping, no, streaming than before. He slid his hand in and out of the vase, making a fist. Whatever he was holding was small enough for him to use the same hand to pinch his nose. “HhgkKXT! HihgxXNTT!!” He let go of his nose and presented his elbow with the duty of muffling his sneezes. “Oh, I cad’t do this ady lohger. HuURSSHHOOOH! Hr’RRSSHOO!”
“Oh my god.” Phoenix at last allowed himself to say something. He watched Miles crouch down on one knee. “Oh my god.”
Miles smirked; his timing was perfect, as he planned. He prepared himself, nose and all, for what he was so eager to say.
“It’s been an honor, no, a blessing to be your boyfriend.” He waited for the pun to register with Phoenix before he opened his hand to reveal a ring resting on his palm. “Would you further bless me by being my husband?”
Phoenix felt weightless as he took the ring. He knew he was going to accept; why wouldn’t he? In all but legal documents, he and Miles had been essentially married since Phoenix moved in with him eight years ago. But what would he say? Was a simple ‘yes’ too easy? Then it hit him that Miles was going for something here.
In that case,
“Bless you, hon.”
The Lost Boys Find Out Their Fem!S/O is Pregnant [4/4]
SUBJECT WARNING: PHYSICAL AGRESSION, SEXUAL THEMES AND A WHOLE LOT OF SWEARING. READER DISCRETION IS ADVISED!
Alrighty then, my lovely fang babes! Here we are, we have the last of the first edition of the pregnancy saga! Worry not, dearest readers, for there is hope! I plan on doing a separate series about going through the pregnancy, and maybe even going through the childbirth with how the boys are as new dads. Let me know in the comments if you'd like to see more, and by tomorrow night we'll have a whole new set to love!
It was such a blast writing Paul's, I'm not gonna lie I got lost in the magic! We have a cute little character cameo for all you 80s movie nerds, lemme know if you can figure out what it is! So, without any more delays; here he is. The gorgeous, the goofy, the one, the only:
PAUL
Tumblr media
Today had been an unexpected challenge. You barely got through your shift at the record store, every time you were in light it made you dizzy. Hangovers had nothing on this! Did you drink too much the night before? No, now that you thought about it any attempts to drink had you hugging a toilet. Not to mention your period was late as hell! Well, not the cramps, go figure. Just no blood. None at all.
You never let on to your beau, Paul, though. The party boy vampire would become overly worried if you told him you were sick, and you weren't about to spoil a good time with a bit of nausea. So here you were, stumbling about the day into the late afternoon absolutely miserable. Your manager Iona offered you some crackers and ginger ale during your lunch break. No dice, within an hour you were running to the bathroom again.
"Gosh hon, I dunno what ta tell ya. Maybe you ate something nasty, I told you that boardwalk food was fishy," Iona sighed, poking at her own lunch with a fork. Currently your coworker Andie was watching the front until you were feeling better.
"Kill me now, Iona," you groaned, chin resting on the table with your arms laid over your head. Then there was a smell. The greatest, most flavorful, mouthwatering scent you've ever experienced. Like a honey baked ham and a New York sirloin had a glorious new baby drizzled in ecstasy. Glancing over, your stomach growled at whatever it could be. If this were a cartoon you'd be flying to what it was.
Oddly enough, it was coming from Iona. Well, whatever black stuff was in her little plastic tupperware dish. Who cares what it was, it smelled incredible.
"Hey uh..," you asked, leaning over towards the sticky, mysterious delicacy calling your name. "You wouldn't mind if I had a bite, would ya?"
"You sure, hon? This isn't exactly your average dish, it's kinda weird," she tried to explain. God you couldn't take your eyes off it! Finally, your merciful manager pushed it your way, and you couldn't resist any longer.
"I don't even care, this is the first thing in the past two days that hasn't made me nauseous," you muffled between cosmic bites.
Oh shit, this was heaven! It had to be some sort of meat, it reminded her of a nice spicy kielbasa, a slow roasted brisket, every second it changed to some new world of food you had never tried. What it was didn't matter by this point.
"Wooow. I've never met someone who liked black pudding that much."
Pudding? "I thought it was meat or something? It doesn't taste anything like pudding," you insisted, polishing off the very last specs of it. "Got any more?"
"No, no, not like chocolate pudding or stuff like that, kiddo. black pudding. It's this dish from the UK my new boyfriend made me. It's congealed pig's and cow blood mixed with spices."
You made a face. Blood? Like, blood blood? The cow equivalent of what Paul drank on a daily basis? Yet this was the first time you didn't puke, in fact, you kinda wanted more. Even knowing what is was made of.. for some reason you craved more. Meanwhile Iona continued to talk on and on, until one phrase caught your ears. "Yea, ya know my mom was so into for the longest time. Said she craved it her whole pregnancy, I never got a taste for it honestly."
A single thought popped into your head. A dangerous, foreboding thought that your intuition said was very much a possibility. In a flash you jumped up, nearly slamming your hands on the table. "I gotta go. Oh shit, I gotta go! I'll be right back, I swear, I'm so sorry, I swear to god I'll be right back," you shouted as you bolted out of the store.
"Wait what-?!"
You'd make it up to her once you got back. You had to know! You had to be sure..! Please just let it be paranoia! Please let it be anything, anything at all besides what you thought it was!
Once you reached the nearest CVS you made a B-line to the women's health section. Your hair clung to your face, your lungs stung like crazy but all you could think about was getting answers. And cue the disapproving glare of some old bat picking out a box of pads. Alright being 17 in front of the pregnancy tests looked bad. You weren't just a high schooler, you looked it too. "What're you looking at, " you snarl. Immediately she clutched her pearls, startled by this abrasive youngin' in no mood for dirty looks. God why'd there have to be so many options? Pink boxes, purple ones, bright yellow insisting it worked the fastest. The heavy fluorescent lights were no help at all, it made your head spin. You had no time for this crap. In a sweeping motion you grabbed three different brands and threw them into your basket, all you needed was….where was your wallet? Shit... Glancing around you checked for any nearby cameras or staff. Karma be damned, it was an emergency! Five finger discount it was.
Once again you made a mad dash back to the record store as the sun finally set. All three boxes were crumpled in your hand, your boots running so fast it you hit a rock that'd be it.
But getting back to the record store was your best bet. You weren't about to pee in some dirty, old, nasty pharmacy bathroo- oh fuck. There was something that finally slowed your steps, nearly making you trip in the process. Four bikes parked right outside. Three of which were occupied by by Dwayne, David and Marko all talking amongst themselves.
Shiiiit, shit, shit! All you could do was swear repeatedly. Before they could spot you, you practically dove into the alleyway behind the store, rapidly disabling the alarm. If that went off it'd be a dead giveaway. Quickly you looked left and right before you slammed the door shut behind you still trying to catch air.
But there, right past the door to the employees lounge, over by the counter you could see a mass of blonde hair chatting away with Iona about Led Zeppelin's best album to date. Paul, gorgeous as every, laughing. It made your heart flutter, but then it sank. What if it was a-... He was never the type to run away from a challenge. But then again, a kid wasn't a challenge, it was a massive ordeal. It would take a huge chunk of his life- well, afterlife! Boozing and cruising would be switched out with drowsy days and busy nights. You weren't sure if you wanted him to know if you were, it would take all that from him. Unfortunately, he must've smelled you or sonething, because immediately he turned around like a puppy being called.
"Babe," he cheered with delight, rushing over to hug you. Rather squeeze you by your hips and lift you four feet off the ground. Quickly you stuffed the skinny boxes into your back pocket, now smushed up against his chest. "Where were you? Ion's said you just bolted mid-shift, we were worried sick! Well, I mean, I was more worried though, cuz I can't stand you bein' gone, kitten."
"Well, yeah uh, I forgot something I had to get at the store, and I forgot what time I got off," you hesitated, still antsy to escape to the bathroom. Truthfully you didn't actually want to, you had to! If you could, you'd just kiss him and ride off into the night to raise some hell like you always did. But this was too big to ignore.
Paul raised a brow. You weren't known for being this jumpy. You wouldn't look him in the eyes, they just kept darting towards the bathroom. Boy, you really did look sick, though. Pale, almost greenish with dark circles under your eyes. You even felt colder than usual. "Am I uh, interrupting something, babe?"
You managed to work out if his arms, giggling nervously. "Actually I-I had some of Iona's lunch earlier, and I just, gotta- be right back!"
With that, you bolted into the bathroom and slammed the door behind you. Again, weird. Paul just shrugged, maybe you had some bad Mexican.
 Iona wasn't convinced. Little miss jumpy-pants skipping out on her, you owed her an explanation. While Paul perused the albums she sunk over to the bathroom, rapidly tapping on the door. "Y/N! Psst! You good in there, hon?"
You were most certainly NOT good! Your hand shook, the third test finally finished. Not like it mattered! They all said the same thing. Every fucking one of them.
Positive. Positive. Positive.
No, no, no!
"Shit," you hissed. "Shit! Oh shit, oh fuck! Fuck-fuckity shit fuck fuck! Dammit." That's all you could do! You swore over, and over, and over, rapidly kicking the wall in front of you. Stupid pink plus! Why? Why did it have to be a plus?? Immediately you threw it in the trash and scooped up the other two. Maybe they were all flukes? Maybe only a doctor could tell you! You had to get home. Like now. Right now, you just had to rush home, make an appointment at the doctors, maybe hide in shame for a few days just until you could figure out what the hell to do with all this! Once again you wedged the tests in your back pocket and nearly tripped, cracking open the door to face your boss. "Iona, I gotta get home."
"Seriously, Y/N?? Why? What is with you?"
"Please, I swear I will make it up to you, I'll take a double shift, I'll wash your damn car-"
"Oh no, nuh-uh. Not until you tell me why you're being such a spaz," she practically shouted in a hissing whisper, absolutely exasperated. You teens and your drama, when she always said she wanted to fell young again this is NOT what she meant!
"Listen i-... iyay amyay egnantpray," you whispered. Pig latin. It was a little code you two usually reserved for secrets. Well, that and talking smack about snotty customers. But wow was this a big ol' secret.
Iona covered her mouth. Oh, you little idiot! You poor little idiot. Looking over at the unsuspecting boyfriend she sighed, looking you in the eyes. She wanted to just tell you to come clean to your man. The boy hung around you constantly, you two were the ultimate it-couple, there wasn't even sparks it was like watching supernovas. Something this big.. it shouldn't be left in the dark!
But that pitiful expression on your face just begged her to keep quiet, and frankly it wasn't her place to tell you what to do- well, at least in this regard. "Alright, alright. This saturday you're taking my night time shift, there's a big concert I wanna go to. And you gotta wax my car, it's gettin' nasty. And you better write the best damn apology note in the history of apology notes, sweetie. This is huge, you better come clean to him eventually, or I'll kick your little butt you hear me?"
"Yes. Absolutely, fine, deal. Just please, please keep him busy, I'm not ready to tell him," you whined, clutching the door. Frankly it sounded like a piss poor plan, but it couldn't be helped, not right now at least. You didn't have the strength to confront the situation head on, you were barely keeping it together. You wanted to cry all over, jump into his arms and come clean now, but this was neither the time or place.
As soon as Iona went to go over to Paul you stuffed the tests into your purse and bolted out the back door, only this time stealth was not on your side. Right at the mouth of the alleyway, just as you were about to be home free- you ran smack dab into a particularly lithe blonde that felt like a brick wall. You went flying onto the ground, your purse crashing onto concrete with a hundred pieces of your privacy going every direction. In a panic you began to rapidly stuff it all back, barely able to hide the first two tests as you threw some half baked apology Marko's way. Honestly he deserved a better one than that, but you were too frazzled to be fair at the moment.
"Oh shit, Y/N," Marko exclaimed, immediately kneeling down to help you gather the scattered remains of your purse. "Sorry, I didn't even see you, I was coming back for a smoke. Big Ed is such a douche, can you believe theres no smoking on the-..." His words trailed off, and you shortly saw why. Grasped between his pointer finger and thumb was the little pink strip, and a look of complete disbelief. All you could do was snatch it from him, a heavy moment of silence magically muffling the wild noise and shouts of the busy boardwalk.
"Do...D-Don't worry about it. Look, I gotta get home, I'll see you arou-," you started, trying to jump up, maybe catch him off guard and make a run for it. Not this time.
You hadn't even noticed he grabbed your wrist, it was such a blur. He stayed silent, standing up and looking right into your eyes with hidden malcontent. You swore if you answered wrong this mischievous cat would tear your throat out. After all, you were his best friend's girl. If you did anything, ANYTHING, to hurt him... Well, let's just say a pregnancy would be the least of your worries. "Why are you running, Y/N? What the hell is this thing," he asked quietly, eyes flickering between red and blue. "Did you…?"
"Oh don't fuckin' even," You snapped, smacking his arm, yanking your hand out of his grasp. "Of course not! You butt! God, are you serious? What do you take me for- No! I- fuck I just- no!" You kick the tin trash can beside you, watching a plethora of trash fly into the air. "I am freaking out! Of course it's Paul's. Oh fucking god, it's Paul's and I don't know what to do!"
Marko's expression softened, placing a hand on your shoulder. "Hey, I didn't mean to make it sound like that, Y/N. Paul's my friend, I just had to be sure you weren't sneaking around, you know?"
You sighed, pushing back your mess of a hair with misty eyes. This was perfect, a real big screw up from start to finish. All you could do was look over at Marko with pleading eyes. "You can't tell him yet. Please, just please please PLEASE, Marko, don't tell Paul yet!"
"Tell me what, babe?"
Shit. Shit on a stick. You looked behind to see Paul halfway out the back door with a look of concern, one that he rarely carried. You and your dumb mouth, go figure.
The blonde pushed through and let the door close behind him, looking over at his best bud standing alone with his girlfriend who was begging him to keep something secret, from him no less.
 "Marko?"
"Nah, nah, don't look at me man, this is all on you guys," he sighed, hands up in a shielding motion. "Good luck buddy. Gotta go, Y/N." with that the young vampire excused himself from this melting pot of drama, hands stuffed in his pockets.
You just stood there, keeping the little strip tightly grasped behind your back. Paul was silent, but glancing at his hands you saw they were balled so tight his knuckles were white. "P-paul…," you hesitated, biting down on your bottom lip. "I should really… get home.."
Paul only raised a brow, glancing at your arms still tucked behind you. This wasn't like you to hide from him, and that alone frightened him. Nothing had ever frightened him before. And he didn't like the taste of it one bit. "What's behind your back, babe?"
"What?"
Again his spoke, this time his voice lowered into a low growl. "What... do you have... behind your back, babe?" The way he said it was so firm, it made you shake a little. You didn't like stern Paul. They way he hissed the word "babe", practically spoken through clenched teeth
Your throat ached, eyes darting across the ground struggling to think up a good excuse. Anything. A book, your purse, a surprise for him! Anything!
"N-nothing." Apparently, you failed to find any excuses. Great.
Paul's knuckles began to crack, jumping forward to try and snatch it from behind you. When you dodged him, he grew even more furious. You both began to struggle, pushing him away, insisting he just stop and let you leave. But every attempt to reject him only upset him further. Why were you hiding things from him?! How could you just ditch him at the record store when he was worried sick about you??
The struggle built up until finally he had enough. His eyes turned white with rings of fire, brow looming heavily over his eyes and fangs jutting out where his incisors once were. In a flash he grabbed you by you wrists, pinning you so hard to the wall it shook. You still tried to struggle. Thrash, kick, squirm! Steel wished it could be so strong, your muscles ached. This probably wasn't even his full strength, but it dwarfed you in comparison. This terrifying side of Paul you had certainly seen before, but never had you been on the receiving end. It was in all sense of the word, predatorial. He'd never try to kill you, but you still felt that horror build up inside. Rapid, sharp breaths made your chest heave, too afraid to look up at those red eyes still fixated on whatever you kept hidden from him. He continued to pry your stubborn fingers open, ignoring your shaking whimpers. He squoze your wrist, the tendons aching and contracting until your fingertips began to lift up. Any resistance was pretty much useless at this point, but dammit you still tried everything to worm out of his grip. But he had finally had it, you weren't gonna be keeping secrets from him. Now your last finger was pushed off, and he could see what was so damn important that you physically fought him to keep it secret. It was almost slow motion the way the strip spun to the ground, clattering down and landing beside his mud caked boots. He froze, slowly looking down at it. That's it? That's all you-...
You could barely read his face, so many different emotions flashing across it all at once. Occasionally he'd look back up at you, then back down at it. To the point you almost got annoyed that you were still being stuck to a wall while the reality set in. After all, it didn't take a rocket scientist to know what that was, just put you down already!
Paul looked at you still pinned beneath him, horrified at how he lost his temper and immediately released you. Still rubbing away the pain across your wrists, you watched him pick it up. A wave of guilt swarmed your body, you didn't know whether to hug him or punt him in the chest.
Hell, a massive tidal wave of guilt overflowed him too. It'd been such a long time since he got that angry.. but worst of all he'd never been like that with you. Never grabbed you so forcefully and ignored your pleas, it was a dark side of him he never wanted to display in front of you. Glancing at the little pink plus at the end of the stick, his mind swirled with a plethora of questions. But slowly he stood up, looking down at you still really trying to process everything that had happened in the past few minutes. "I don't… I don't understand.."
"You- You are such an ass," you shouted out of nowhere, enough that it made him jump. There you were. That's the fiery girl he knew, not the one he exactly wanted to be on the opposing side of at the moment, though.
Paul wasn't surprised you were pissed, but he definitely didn't expect you to start punching his arm. Again. Then again, and again you just kept hiting his arms, his chest, pushing and crying, you were so mad you wanted to chuck him in the ocean! It didn't really hurt that much, but he felt awful he drove you to that point.
Tears blurred your vision as you lashed out on him. All you could do was yell names between sobs, even whack him with your purse. "Paul, you absolute jerk! Butt! Jackass! You smarmy, half wit, blood-sucking tool! You said you were packing blanks, you absolute liar! I was gonna tell yo-! I mean, I know I shouldn't have run-! But you just couldn't wait- and then Marko- and you! You ! Jerk ! Butthead !"
"Hey, ow! Ow! Ow, dammit! I know, I know I went to far-ow not the hair dammit," he demanded, grabbing your arms before you could lay another mighty blow. "Babe! Babe, stop! I thought I was! I swear I didn't know- I-..I never thought that I could get you...." His hands slowly released your shoulders, moving to your hips. "I'm so sorry, baby. I swear, I didn't know.. I'm so sorry."
The way his voice softened only made you want to cry more. This whole day was a mess. You didn't mean to try and run.. You never should've tried to in the first place. God, you were so tired. All this running around, all this secrecy, the fighting, it was exhausting. Paul was the last person you wanted to fight. Sure you had spats and a few heated arguments. Every couple did, even vampires. But this, it was just so.m draining. With a firm thud you plopped your forehead on his sternum, your fingers tightly clinging to the upper sleeves of his jacket. "Wh-what am I supposed to do-… what are we supposed to do now..?"
Paul pondered his options with a solemn face, but there was only one that made him happy. Only one that sat right in his heart. What else could he possibly do, there was only ever going to be one answer even if you told him right away. Most of all, he couldn't stand the sorrow in your eyes. A frown never suited such a beautiful face. He never expected there to be anything to come from your heavy sexcapades, it never seemed like there was any risks in it. He'd never seen a vampire munchkin, least of all he'd never even heard of a vamp conceiving with a human. All he knew now is you, crying in his arms, terrified of what you were carrying. What it could mean. In that moment, he steeled his resolve and came to a final decision.
Silently he tilted your chin up, using his thumb to brush away all those tears staining your cheeks. Those blue eyes, you could get lost in them. Swallowed up by the sea. It wasn't hard to read his mind when he held onto your hip with one hand, while the other that pushed away salty droplets now cupped your cheek. Within moments you crashed your mouth into his, wrapping your arms around the back of his neck.
Warm. A surge of heat filled your body. It was the first time you felt truly alive all day. You could feel your chest heave against his, you didn't want any space between the two of you and only pressed tighter until there wasn't anything left. Each kiss gave momentary breath before you dove in for more. Neither of you could stop. You didn't want to pull away, not even for a split second. The way he smelled, the way he tasted, the way he touched you, the way he felt beneath your fingers; it made your head spin. His hands began to wander, you clutched at anything you could get a hold of. Your body burned, so sweet and long. In those moments the world stopped, it just melted away in streams of light. No one was there but you two.
It was over too soon, both of you rapidly panting for breath still intertwined. Oh, how you could stare into his eyes forever.
That frown was long gone, replaced by a tender smile. The one he had come to cherish. Paul chuckled softly, breathlessly nuzzling against your collar bone. Slowly he leaned in close to your ear, his disheveled blonde hair brushing up against your cheeks. Lips trailed up flesh, reavhing just beneath your ear. And then you heard those three forbidden words. Such sweet, tender words, you hadn't expected him to say. Although he whispered them so softly they might have gotten lost in the wind, to you they were as clear as the moon on a cloudless night.
"Y/N.... I love you."
It made your heart throb, you thought you might even faint. A lifetime of struggles led up to this beautiful moment. You never expected it to be a half-undressed heavy make out session with your vampire lover, the father of your unborn spawn, in the back alley of a record store on the Santa Carla Boardwalk. But here you were, nestled between him and an old brick wall. Paul loved you, he had said it, he finally said those words that could destroy any doubt you had. And more than anything in the whole wide world, you knew once and for all, you loved Paul.
