Parade of Nations - Uganda
French: Ouganda // English: Uganda // Japanese: ウガンダ (Uganda)
Uganda formed its National Olympic Committee in 1956 and participated in its first Olympics as a country at the 156 Melbourne Summer Olympics. They haven’t hosted any Olympic Games, but they’ve participated in 15 Summer Games and no Winter Games. The Olympic sports in which Uganda has medaled are Athletics and Boxing.
Kimono Maker: Chiso Co., Ltd./ 千總
“The rich nature of Uganda is expressed by drawing various animals including a gorilla as endangered species and Murchison Falls which flows out of the Lake Victoria, the source of the Nile. The animals are drawn vividly like patterns of the chitenge.”[1]
Obi Maker: Kawashima Selkon Textiles Co.,Ltd./ 川島織物セルコン
“The obi lays the arabesques in the back, places profiles of the mountain gorillas facing each other and also is hiding the national bird, the gray crowned cranes. The beautiful forest of Uganda is woven into the whole obi with a playful sense of tromp-l 'œil.” [1]
