Just a conversation I had with my mother today, translate from marathi to english:

Her(just having come back from an wedding),"tumchivaish you should excercise a bit."

I turn around and begin to leave the room to avoid the conversation because I know she means well and I wish excercising would melt away all the flab instantly but it won't and she'll continue to chip away at my mental health with these words despite excercising and if I'm not mentally well I'll not excercise and the cycle will continue.

Mummy continues, "there were so many nice pretty girls at the wedding."

I went to take a shower because that's the only place I can privately cry. I have become pretty good at ignoring her most days but today hurt. I couldn't look at myself in the mirror. Wished very hard that I would just existing, be free.

Earlier she had pointed out how pretty the bride was.

She's a good mother. But she shouldn't have had daughters. She's the reason I'll never have kids. I can't bear to hurt them the way she hurts us, so casually and unwittingly. Always saying that's she's saying it for our own good when we talk back.

P.S. I do intermittent fasting and try to walk atleast 10k steps everyday while working really long hours so I'm not some slob or anything. I'm doing my best and i hate excercising in front of anyone.

She is actually a good mother, maybe she raised me the way she was raised and its not her fault. I'm just ranting here so whatever ig.
