UCMerced has been my second home for the past 4 years💙 what happened last week hurt us in many different ways. But ya know what? The Bobcat family remained strong🐯💙 thank you to the police and staff for for putting the students first. Thank you for always doing your best to ensure our safety. This bridge is mostly everyone's favorite, sunrises & sunsets are one of the best hands down I've ever seen. We as a bobcat community have crossed this bridge metaphorically and literally, we will always remain #bobcatstrong 💛🐯💙 #UCMercedtogether #bobcatsforever

It's been a rough couple of days, reflecting & putting a lot of things into perspective. There were many memories & lasting friendships made during my time at UCM that make me who I am today. Thank you to everyone who reached our with concern for everyone's safety. It's crazy to think that early this Wednesday morning, literally a few steps outside my 7:30am class, such an incident was going to take place. My prayers and condolences to everyone that was affected by such an unfortunate event. I always believed UC Merced to be one of the safest places in our community--a place where one can grow without grieving, where one can feel free without fear. In a time of crisis as such, I want everyone to continue believing this. To not let this incident take down this very foundation. Although our day was shaken up, we as a community stand strong, #BobcatStrong, and united more than ever. We will not be put down and divided. We are #UCMercedTogether.
