A Memorable Experience in Kissimmee Week 10 (3/14/25)
Good morning, afternoon, or evening to everyone following my journey through UCF's Veteran's History Project. This was a memorable week for me as I had the opportunity to participate in an amazing experience. I had the chance to listen to the story of two WWII Veterans, Mel Jensen, a member of the United States Army Air Corps, he was a Waist Gunner on a B-17 and Sergeant Louis Boria of the United States Marine Corps.
This week, as normal, I attended my weekly Veterans History Project meeting, where Miss Jesse Oldham returned after an extended leave of absence. This was more than just a normal Tuesday, as I reported that on that day, after the meeting, I would have the chance to listen to two World War II Veterans talk about their service in an event at the Military History Museum in Kissimmee, and as a part of VHP, I had the honor to attend on behalf of the organization. Other students from UCF could attend and listen to the experience of these two courageous men and have an in-person experience with Oral History.
I arrived at before the event began and had the chance to meet both Veterans and chat with them one-on-one.
Both these brave men told the crowd stories of their service, Mel Jensen stating that he flew in both A-20 Havoc Bombers and in B-17 Flying Fortresses, he had flown 45 missions over Europe, including three bombing runs to Berlin and even a reconnaissance flight over the Normandy Beaches on D-Day. Sergeant Boria too recounted his time in the Marine Corps, from his enlistment, to his time in Boot Camp, to his landing on Leyte during General MacArthur's invasion to liberate the Phillippines. He talked about his time in landing on Leyte, his wounding from mortar fire, and his time in the Hospital on the island of New Caledonia.
The raw emotion and sincerity of the stories told by these brave individuals had me entranced, it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time, there were moments of laughter, and there were other moments where I wanted to cry. I was moved, but I kept a straight face and listened with open ears and an open mind. It is one thing to read or listen to accounts of veterans in a book, or a documentary, but to hear and actually be in the same room as these brave men, to feel their emotions while they give their accounts. It is something that one has to experience so that they can truly understand the sacrifices they made for their country, for their families, and for their comrades in arms.
This experience was one that had to be experienced, it was a once in a lifetime experience I will not soon forget, and I have many people to thank for that; Doctor Lyons, Harrison Smith, Doctor Gannon, and many others. VHP has opened many doors for me, and this semester has proven to be one of the best I have had in a long time.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone, god bless you all!

She got asked her opinions as well and she was really excited and happy to be included in the discussion. People are telling me they think shes cool now but lol i wouldnt go that far. i really appreciate people including her tho because she really loves Taylor Swift and talking about her!!

Happy Celebration (Insert Yours Here)...
We did have great celebration plans this weekend and week for sure! We booked our timeshare at beautiful Cape Canaveral, Florida for everyone to stay for all the festivities.
Tumblr media
It all started with Jo! We are so proud of her as she graduated from UCF! Yes, we had some drama along the way as Dan got his third round of Covid and proved that not all third times are charms. The rest of the gang was there to cheer her on from the family and beyond. Dan was able to catch the live stream thanks to modern technology.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the commencement ceremony and celebratory lunch at Rusty's at the Port, the entire gang, including the family, the grammas, and Aunt Re and cousin B returned to the condo on the beach.
Saturday the kids all went to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure and never let the driving rain ruin any fun! Luckily, Dan was able to join up from isolation by Sunday just in time for his 55th birthday. We spent some time in the beach, hottub, and pool since the weather finally broke. For dinner, everyone enjoyed the night out at Rising Tide's.
We then celebrated Christmas together on Monday. We played games, had a round of White Elephant and exchanged and opened gifts all day long. We very rarely get to spend the holidays together so we took this opportunity to make it a Christmas day for the ages. No one seemed to mind it was a week early.
The last day was a day of travel so we all went our separate ways. Ebaugh journeyed back to SoFlo. Frooze, Millon, and Tal were joined by Jo for a trip back to the Carolinas. The Pittsburgh gang got back on the plane after a quick visit to Cocoa Beach Pier for a little reminiscing of days gone past. And Amy and Dan returned home to quiet and cleansing of germs.

Showcase Your Loyalty with Custom Notre Dame Jerseys: Tips and Ideas
Tumblr media
Fandom is more than cheering during a game—it’s about showcasing loyalty in style. Whether you’re attending a game, hosting a watch party, or simply running errands, wearing a Custom Notre Dame Jersey allows you to proudly support your favorite team while expressing your unique flair. Here are some creative tips and ideas to make your custom jersey stand out and reflect your fandom.
Choose the Perfect Design
The first step in creating a custom jersey is selecting a design that resonates with you. Think about incorporating the team colors, iconic logos, or even your favorite player’s number. For a personal touch, consider adding your name or a meaningful slogan on the back. This makes your Custom Notre Dame Jersey a true reflection of your style and dedication.
Match Your Jersey with Accessories
Complete your look by pairing your jersey with coordinating accessories. Hats, scarves, and shoes in team colors can elevate your ensemble. If you’re tailgating or attending a game, don’t forget face paint or foam fingers to amplify your spirited appearance. These small additions make a big impact in showcasing your loyalty.
Versatile Ways to Wear Your Custom Jersey
While game day is the obvious occasion to don your jersey, there are plenty of other opportunities to wear it. Dress it up with a blazer for a casual dinner, pair it with jeans for a laid-back outing, or even frame it as a unique piece of home décor. Your Custom UCF Knights Jersey can become a stylish and versatile part of your wardrobe, representing your favorite teams in various settings.
Gift a Custom Jersey
Custom jerseys make fantastic gifts for friends and family who share your passion for sports. Personalize a jersey with their favorite player’s number or a nickname to create a meaningful keepsake. It’s a thoughtful way to celebrate milestones, birthdays, or special game days together. Custom jerseys are more than just apparel—they’re a way to proudly display your team loyalty and personal style. Whether you’re a fan of Notre Dame or UCF Knights, creating a custom jersey is a fun and meaningful experience. With endless possibilities for design and styling, your jersey will stand out both on and off the field. At Robert Henrys Store, we offer top-quality custom options to help you showcase your pride in style.

My First Interview, a Practice Interview Week 9 (3/7/25)
Good morning, afternoon, or evening to everyone following my journey through UCF's Veteran's History Project. I hope everyone has been well and that the midway point of the Spring Semester has been generous, prosperous, and invigorating, I do hope that the Midterms have been kind and you've all received amazing grades.
This has been a historic week for me as part of the UCF Veterans History Project, as I was able to put my training to the test with a practice interview with Doctor Gannon this week.
After the regular Tuesday meeting, Doctor Gannon asked me when I would be available that week for the mock interview, I responded with vigor that I could go that very moment when the meeting was over. But it was decided that Wednesday would be the proper day to do so, as Doctor Gannon had classes later that same day.
So the very next day, I was able to conduct my first interview with Doctor Gannon as my interviewee, after going through the preparations on Zoom, as that is the main way we will be conducting interviews due to COVID and the advancements in technology.
I opened with the standard opening, introducing myself and the interviewee, and thanking Doctor Gannon for her service.
I was able to learn a great amount about Doctor Gannon, how she originally came from Canada, lived in Chicago in her early youth, and her time in the U.S Army Signal Corps, as part of 'A' Company, 25th Signal Battalion, and all the duties and bureaucratic issues she had to face in her service.
When all was said and done, Doctor Gannon gave me her critique on my interview skills and was very impressed. She told me that there were a few things I still had to sharpen but that I had a great amount of potential to be a great interviewer.
She pointed out my neutral presence as a great ability, which it turns out not many have, stating that it makes me an individual who is easier to talk to and discuss their service with. She also impressed upon me the importance of finding the right time to "reel in" the interviewee when they go off on a tangent. Stating that while I did allow for her to run off a bit with the conversation, how I handled the tangent and returned us to the topic at hand was done very well, and also impressed upon me that there are times that you must let the tangent run a while so as not to appear rude or condescending.
This same week, I was able to receive my mid-term evaluation from Doctor Gannon which I will be submitting today as well.
I wish everybody well for this week, and I am pleased to announce my latest milestone with the UCF Veterans History Project, I wish everybody an amazing weekend and I will be reporting to you my latest successes in the coming weeks, thank you all for following me along on this amazing journey.
