#uberhood: sunset valley

brainstorming a new uberhood setup and trying to reconcile various lore inconsistencies so here's my headcanon:

Sunset Valley is the equivalent to a (small) state / province / region. SimValley (from Bustin' Out / Sims Console) is a specific sub-region / county within Sunset Valley. Pleasantview (Neighborhood 1) / Old Town / Sim City (Downtown) / Studio Town / Bluewater Village / Riverview (Riverblossom Hills) etc etc are neighborhoods / towns within SimValley.

So, the Goths founded the region of Sunset Valley and being the founders they have multiple properties throughout the region and in various towns / neighborhoods. And of course all of them are called some variation of "Goth Manor / Mansion."

Anyways so for me it goes:

Sunset Valley > SimValley > Pleasantview +++ others, and I imagine it as a sort of California-type area since Studio Town is nearby.

Alright, so...

I got inspired to bring some more families outside the Sims 2 universe into the gameplay by watching some uberhoods here and there. I've added Langeraks and Broke relatives (Riverview) into the world, adjusting their ages to fit with the timeline. I thought of bringing up Landgraabs but the whole timeline with Malcolms is way too confusing. From Sims 4 there's Pancakes family as they're an iconic family and don't know what is considered an iconic family in 4.

I've added also Life Stories and PSP Strangetown into the mix.

I'm thinking of adding the Alto, Landgraabs from console version of 3 or Heckings.

Back to Langeraks...

There's no mention of them in the other games besides 3, when Parker is a teen and I still have flashbacks to the Sims wiki trying to figure out why Kaylynn in 3 is Morti's age but in 2 is in her 20s. To make them fit into the timeline I estimated their age to be around 25 years from Sunset Valley, with the whole story that they moved to Downtown as it shouldn't be empty.

So Dustin and Iliana are elders now, Zelda is childfree and Parker still lives his life against his father's will, hitting 40 years soon.

Zelda has kept her garden, Dustin got into robotics and Parker plays chess in his spare time.

I saw you're using story progression in your legacy hood - how are you finding it?

Quick disclaimer that the version of story progression I'm using probably isn't the latest one, the pictures I've been posting were all taken at least a year ago xD

But I like it! It's definitely encouraging a different style of gameplay than I'm used to, for example I always forget if I send a sim to a community lot time will have automatically passed when they get back. Very different to how mods like Community Time handles things, I definitely wouldn't use it for something like a BACC where I want to have more control over everything...

I think for legacies though, it's really good? Gives more of a sims 3 style feeling of the town actually progressing. I will say tho, I've bveen a bit dissapointed at how few "pseudo playables" actually have married or had kids so far, perhaps I need to have more of those "playables" set up instead of just a massive townie pool? I think story progression doesn't really do much for townies, and I only have a small handful of playables set up for story progression right now.

The ideal way to play with it would probably be to have a large town set up with other actual "playables" with their own homes and everyhting so that you could actually visit them, similar to how Sims 3 has neighbourhoods set up? The "visit other sims" feature is super cool but going a bit under-used in my legacy since I can't really be bothered to decorate houses for those sims I just made "playable" to experiment with story progression and don't plan on actually playing... I imagine down the line it would be amazing for keeping spares and the legacy "branch families" feeling more relevant???

I'd be really interested to try out the mod with a large hood like Belladonna Cove, @danies-simsational-blog's Sunset Valley or @chrisnewbie's Strangertown? I've even considered trying it out with my uberhood since that thing is a bit of a monster, but I'm not sure if I'm willing to relinquish control over the hood to that extent... trying it for a future Robin River spin off would also be really interesting, too???

I definitely reccommend trying it to see how you like it before installing it with any neighbourhoods you're already attached to, but its fun! really gets you playing TS2 in a new sort of way :D

COBYCOBS UBERHOOD, SEASON 4: “Rebels” Chapter 10: "Listen to me!"

At Lindsay, Rose, Lilith, Ophelia and Nicole's residence.

The girls, except for Nicole, were talking about what they would do for the weekend.

Ophelia (While she was gathering her things, because she was going with Johnny to the movies): Well girls, see you on Sunday! I hope you have a great time!

Rose, Lilith and Lindsay: See you later Ophelia!.

At that moment Nicole enters with a big smile and a large amount of clothes.

Nicole (Smiling): You guys are not going to believe what I did with Heather!

Lindsay (As she looked at her friend): Did you take the stupidity out of her!?

Nicole: No haha! We did a clothing fair and she accepted me in her dance group!

Lilith and Rose: Dance Group?.

Nicole (While she was looking with a lot of energy at her friends): Yes!!, You should have come with me girls!!.

Later, Lindsay was checking her computer when an email caught her attention.

Lindsay (Reading): "I know who you are and what you want, go downtown tomorrow to get more answers"... Who wrote this for me?

In the tri-var sorority.

The girls were about to sleep, especially Heather, who thought too much about Jimmy Phoenix.

Heather (About to put on her sleep mask): Why am I thinking too much about that crow?... He's too ugly!

"Jimmy" (Entering Heather's room): So I'm ugly to you? Come on, barbie whims, you know very well that you love me!

Heather stopped thinking and saw that no one was there.

Heather (Thinking out loud): It's all your fault Tiff!.

Tiffany (A little sad): And now what did I do?... I just came to wish you good night.

Heather: Nothing Tiff! I just had a nightmare...

Tiffany (Approaching her friend): You're not fooling me Heather... I know very well that you like a boy, and that boy is Tank Grunt.

Heather: ew, no! Tank may be too handsome a hunk, but he only has eyes for beasts like Lindsay! Also, I don't like "Nice" guys anymore, they're all like Castor, Kevin, Chaz or like Ashley.

Tiffany (A little confused): Could it be that you like one of the scholarship holders? If so, you know you wouldn't get along very well with them!

Heather (As she put on her sleep mask): Tomorrow we'll talk more calmly Tiff Tiff!, good night!.

The next morning, at the Urele-Oresha-Cham residence.

Joshua was talking to Chaz Whippler, who was having a problem with a teacher.

Chaz (A little sad): And she threatened me if I told anyone what she had done to me...

Joshua (Concerned): But you haven't told your father?

Chaz (Crying a little): My father and her get along very well!!...

Joshua: Calm down bro, soon that teacher will stop abusing you...

In the distance, Kevin Beare and Ella Goth were talking about their families.

Kevin: My parents don't want me to be home on weekends, that's why I'm staying here with Ash and Joshua, you should come with us!

Ella (A little shy): My mom and my grandfather, they overprotect me too much, especially my grandfather, he doesn't want anything bad to happen to me...

Kevin: I thought Mr Goth was on vacation in Sunset Valley.

Ella: I would like to spend a day away from my family... It's not for nothing bad, but I think I don't fit the standard of being "a girl from the goth family".

Mortimer (Angry as he ran towards Kevin Beare to push him): Get away from my granddaughter, you dirty bastard!!.

Ella (Calming her grandfather down): Grandpa please, Kevin and I were talking!

Mortimer (Seriously): Ella, get in the car right now!!, And you young man, don't you dare do anything bad to my granddaughter!!.

In the Goth mansion.

Mortimer (While hugging his granddaughter): Honey, I only did it for your own good, I don't want anything bad to happen to you like it did to your uncle Alexander.

Ella (Head down): But grandpa, I want to make new friends! Sometimes Angie, Paris and Natsuki are busy with their boyfriends and I'm a bit lonely... Why don't you want me to approach any boy?

Mortimer: Ella, I already told you! I don't want anything bad to happen to you, the world can be an evil place and there are very evil boys who want to hurt you!

Ask me how the Uberhood Project is doing. Go on. I’ve finished the Pleasantview sims scaled to Cassie based on the assumption that all the adults at the beginning of the game would be teens and their dead parents living. So we’ve got some characters from TS1 back. I’ve also decided that some people have animals and that some parents seem more likely to have other children. I also brought back the extended Broke family as seen in TS3′s Riverview and Zelda Mae and Dustin from Sunset Valley. I’ve also made the Kim Family and Tara Kat who get added to the bin if you’ve got TS2 Pets. Any favorite townies from TS2 or TS3 I should add?

EDIT: I was in a rush to post this earlier and forgot to say that all the Strange Town sims are in Oasis Springs. Their family trees are intact. The Veronaville sims have been placed in Windenberg. Their family trees are also intact. (Keen observers will note that Veronaville seems a bit overpopulated, never fear, I haven’t gotten around to killing those sims yet) I’ve also made all of Bluewater Village from OFB and put them down in Newcrest. Since we can’t do home businesses without a mod and I’m trying to keep this cc and mod lite I’ll be putting the businesses in Newcrest as well. Malcolm Landgraab is a teen here and lives in Willow Creek where he’s an important foil character for various other families. I’m debating what sims from Uni I should make and put in the student housing.

Took a break from my uberhood to play the incredible well done ts2 Sunset Valley! I played a lot of the sims 3 as a kid so it’s really fun to see it remade on the sims 2.

Here is little Bella Bachelor playing Kaylynn Langerak, they came together after school and Bella wanted to befriend Kaylynn, so I put them to play together but I dont’t think Kaylynn really like playing cops and robbers, judging by her face

There is no actual EA Games retcon. A simweek after the Uberhood starting point, Dialga breeched into and used Roar of Time on a townie, which caused many sims to be born years later, and many other to be born much before, creating a completely different history, having the Goths settle Sunset Valley instead of Pleasantwiew.

Tempo fa avevo visto un blog che shippava Circe Salamis con Kristen Loste ma non mi sorprenderei se qualcuno la ha gia shippata con tutte e quattro della Singles Household. Ci sono molte ship interessanti intorno, tipo Goneril Cappelletti e Alexandra Theaterton-O' Mackey, oppure Isobel Contender-Baldwin e Morgana Cordiali.

Carina l’idea di shippare Circe e Kristen, sono entrambe molto ambiziose del resto! Personalmente non ho forti preferenze per quanto riguarda le ship di The Sims tbh, ma mi piace molto vedere come le accoppia la gente negli uberhood! Ho presente la ragazza che shippa Goneril e Alexandra, ma Isabel e Morgana insieme non le avevo mai sentite, fico!

Ho capito. Anche io probabilmente, se dovessi creare un quartiere custom in TS3, prenderei famiglie da vari quartieri (anche se penso che la maggior parte delle mie famiglie preferite di TS3 siano di Sunset Valley. Ho qualche famiglia preferita nei quartieri che ti danno con le espansioni, ma sono abbastanza poche. Non ho mai giocato ai quartieri del negozio però, ma leggendo un po’ di wikia ho visto un bel po’ di famiglie interessanti.)
