What is your total word count on AO3?

59,712. Not a lot, but then again, I don’t write a lot because I don’t like my writing, so. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How often do you write?

I don’t really have a set schedule? It mostly depends on my mental health because I have periods where I’m so depressed I have no motivation whatsoever to write and those can last for months at a time. So, when I’m not feeling as shit, I’ll typically be writing at least every day for my High School Musical AU…and then it depends again on if I have a musical scene in the chapter I’m currently working on because ohhhh boy are those dsfjfghiurjklsd hard. I tend to put those off for a while sdjfjhds.

Do you have a routine for writing?

I just sit down at my desk in my comfy desk chair and start blaring my Spotify playlist. Sometimes that helps, sometimes it doesn’t, because sometimes I stop writing in the middle of a sentence and jam out to the song and then forget the rest of my sentence. I also tend to have my doggo sitting on my lap as I type because he gives great cuddles and is good moral support. When I have to write a musical scene or a sexy scene, I’ll bust out my whiskey and get tipsy because that’s usually the only way I can make myself write that stuff. I don’t do it all the time; just when it’s giving me a lot of grief. (Which reminds me—I cry at least twice per writing session because I don’t like my writing lol)

What are your favourite kinks/tropes/pairings?

I’m going to assume this means which are my favourite kinks/tropes/pairings to write?

Uh, I’ve written Evak having sex in a laundry room. So, I guess that makes public sex the kink.

My favourite trope? Idk. The laundry fic was pretty cute and domestic, so there’s that. Uh, the High School Musical fic? I guess that’s a high school trope?

My favourite pairing to write is, of course, Evak…since that’s all I’ve written lmao.

Do you have a favourite fic of yours?

No. Hell. No.

Anything you don’t like about your writing?

I don’t like the way it sounds. I don’t like how I characterise my favourite characters. I don’t like how I don’t understand half the stuff I write. I don’t like how I tend to use the same phrases a lot. I don’t like how I tend to use big words that sound off and fucks up the flow of everything. I don’t like how it feels rushed no matter how many times I try to not make it rushed. I don’t like that I try too hard because I’m not really writing for me; more often than not it’s because people want me to write, not because I have a burning desire to. Oh, and I definitely don’t like that my writing has very much gone downhill.

Now something you do like?

a  few  things  to  know  about  my  interpretation  of  will :

he  is  gay.   he’s  vaguely  aware  of  the  fact  that  being   zombie  boy   isn’t  the  only  thing  that  makes  him  a  so-called  freak.   he’s  not  completely  aware  it’s  also  partially  because  of  this,  he  never  really  thought  about  it   too   much  until  he  came  back  from  t/he  u/pside  d/own.   now  that  he’s  back,  though,  and  inbetween  his  connection  to  that  dimension  and  everything  else,  he’s  starting  to  understand  there’s  something  very  different  about  him.   i  will  incorporate  this  gradual  realization  in  my  writing.   that’s  another  part  of  himself  that  he’ll  struggle  to  accept.

after  everything  that’s  happened  to  him,  will  feels   disconnected   from  the  world  in  general,  but  especially  his  friends,  and  that  hurts  him  a  lot.   he  feels  like  he’s  missed  a  lot   ---   and  he  has.   it’s  quite  noticeable  that  he  stays  quiet  most  of  the  time,  and  that’s  because  he   feels   the  change  and  struggles  to  fit  in ...  basically   everywhere.   he’s  trying  to  overcome  it  and  go  back  to  normal  as  soon  as  possible.   it’s  proving  pretty  hard.

he  can  be  incredibly  shy.   he’s  anxious  and  he  overthinks  ---   he  has  a  hard  time  talking  to  people  unless  he’s  somewhat  comfortable  in  their  presence,  or  trying  to  be  nice.   new  acquaintances  can  easily  overwhelm  him,  if  he  doesn’t  keep  himself  in  check.   in  most  threads  where  he  talks  to  strangers,  he  will  be   quiet.

as  we’ve  seen  a  few  times,  will  is   afraid   of  not  being  understood.   he  will  try  his  very  best  to  appear  normal,  do  normal  things,  like  girls,  despite  agreeing  with  j/onathan  that  being  a  freak  is  the  best.

he  hides  a  lot  of  the  things  he  thinks / feels  because  he  doesn’t  want  to  be  a  burden  on  anyone  any  more  than  he  already  is,  especially  his  family.

he’s  incredibly  perceptive  for  his  age,  but  he  tends  to  hide  away  in  his  thoughts  and  observe  things  from  afar.

1)    How many works in progress do you have?

I have two – my main is the High School Musical/Skam AU (which is going to be all three movies, and then maybe some one shots because I already have SO many ideas) and then I’m also working on a non-related one shot about laundry (how exciting). There’s also a possible Star Wars collab if that counts?

2)    Do you/would you write fanfiction?

I do write fanfiction. I never thought I would because I don’t like sharing my writing, which I just do for me, and the idea of sharing it online was terrifying. Kinda glad I did though; now I have a cool new pal because of it (who I love v much).

3)    Do you prefer paper books or ebooks?

Paper books! I love the smell of paper books, I love the weight of it as you read it in bed, I love turning the pages…yeah, I love paper books.

4)    When did you start writing?

I have no idea; I started writing at a really young age, and some of it was pretty wild. When I was 8, I wrote something that was around eight chapters long that was about dragons, which I worked on for a couple of months as a thing for class? And then around the same age I wrote what was essentially World of Warcraft self-insert fanfiction (because WoW is life) and I’m pretty glad I lost that because I don’t know what my younger self was thinking. I kind of fell out of love with writing as I got older because school just loves to force you to write creative pieces that has to include certain things and I always got marks deducted as I always failed to meet those requirements so I just gave up; wasn’t until this year, when I started my AU that I kinda started liking writing again.

5)    Do you have someone you trust that you share your work with?

My fanfiction? Hell yes.

My own stuff that I write for my own enjoyment? Hell no.

6)    Where is your favorite place to write?

In my bedroom, at my desk, with the window open, listening to music.

7)    Favorite childhood book?

Anything by Rick Riordan, basically – Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Kane Chronicles, The Heroes of Olympus…basically kickstarted my obsession with mythology. My favourite of his works is probably Mark of Athena simply because waiting a year for the next book after that cliffhanger nearly killed me!

8)    Writing for fun or publication?

Writing for publication would be the dream, but honestly, I have a pretty hard time being able to commit to and finish what I start, so I don’t know how well that would work out. Writing for fun is what I do now though, definitely.

9) Pen and paper or computer?

It kind of depends. For my AU, if I’m writing a chapter that includes a musical number, then I’ll bust out the pen and paper because thoughts flow easier when you’re writing with a pen, and that’s very handy when you’re trying to describe someone dancing and singing. I’ll also resort to pen and paper if I’m stumped and don’t know what to write. Otherwise, I’ll usually be typing on my laptop.

10) Have you ever taken any writing classes?

Nope, but I am looking into studying it at uni. I’m kind of mixed about the idea of taking a writing class because I’m probably going to have to write to certain guidelines, which is a surefire way to get me to hate writing again; but then again I’m really interested in learning the ropes of the writing industry.

11) What inspires you to write?

A whole lot of random stuff. Currently, it’s movies – the similarities between Skam and High School Musical is what pushed me to write that AU; I’m kind of tempted to write an Evak Baby Driver AU because I started picturing the two leads as Evak when their romance was getting really boring.

I also spend way too much time on this site called imgur and I saw this post that was a text between a dude and his wife that just screamed Evak, which is the premise for this really random laundry one-shot I’m currently working on. Dunno if it’ll ever be done, though!
