idk where my post comparing ffviir and tristamps tendency to weaken their own stories by seeming to write for existing fans (in a way of like. seeming to assume you know sephiroth. u know knives. u know the great fall. u know about vashs awesome prosthetic. etc. so why keep the suspense about them? why not just hand em over immediately?) but also both of them giving these like grand showdowns that werent in the original featuring an at least eventual space backdrop to like up the ante. and i did not like it very much in either. ill give ffviiir this that entire last sequence like the 7 seconds w sephiroth and everyone showing up to help was all very moving in the moment. by the time the credits were over i was like. wait. why?

#also ros is so right the animation in tristamp is so liquid smooth its less fun. to me #like they rely a lot on little slow mo motions instead of Impact which just does not hit the same i think…..#u can barely even interpret half the action in nai vs vash bc of their ugly wing things and the too smooth movement #sad! oh well. its midnight i can bitch for a minute #it just really feels to me like theyre assuming u know the big points. u know cloud was never soldier. aerith dies. vash has an evil twin #etc. and not doing enough to counteract the subsequence loss of drama and buildup and Mystique
