Azula has made no progress since she was sent back to the asylum. Ty Lee believes she can help her, with proper disciple. Tyzula.

CH33: Lost
"Where is she!?" Zuko demanded as he stormed into the meeting room.
"Ah, so the Firelord finally decides to grace us with his presence." One of the earth kingdom nobles said disparagingly.
"Firelord Zuko-" The Earth King began, speaking over the noble.
"Where is my sister!?" He barked.
"That is a question we really ought to have asked you, isn't it?" A water tribe official said, getting to his feet. "Or are we giving special treatment to prisoners on a whim?" Zuko was fuming as he stared him down.
"That is a reasonable question that I believe we are owed an answer to." An earth noble seconded. Zuko closed his eyes and took a breath to calm himself.
"I will answer those questions once I know the whereabouts and wellbeing of my sister." He said, opening his eyes again.
"She is imprisoned below the palace." The Earth King said with a small nod. "And I can assure you that she is quite safe under the watchful eyes of the Dai Li." Zuko stared at him in disbelief.
"The Dai Li? The same group that betrayed you and helped my sister overthrow Ba Sing Se from the inside?" He said. There was muttering among the water tribe representatives and the earth nobles looked uncomfortable. "And you accuse me of giving special treatment?"
"The Dai Li were only a threat under the leadership of Long Feng." The Earth King began quickly. "They rejoined the Earth Kingdom shortly before the end of the war, at great personal risk I might add."
"They only fled back to the Earth Kingdom because Azula dismissed them!" Zuko said, gritting his teeth.
"I'm sorry Firelord, but are you building a case for or against your sister?" Lam Beifong said, raising his eyebrows as he stroked his long white beard.
"I am merely pointing out the hypocrisy." Zuko said, narrowing his eyes.
"Please, have a seat." The Earth King said, gesturing across the table. "Let's all settle down so we can discuss this civilly." He said, shooting the earth nobles a stern look. Zuko clenched his fists but sat down.
"Now then," Arnook said, clearing his throat, "I believe we are owed an explanation as to why the former princess of the Fire Nation was allowed to wander freely into the Earth Kingdom without so much as a guard or explanation."
"I only have what information the Avatar was able to send me on such short notice." Zuko said. "That she was seeking medical assistance for the Kyoshi Warrior watching her."
"Only one Kyoshi Warrior? Guarding one of the most dangerous prisoners of the Hundred Year War?" An earth noble asked suspiciously.
"She's gotten better." Zuko said.
"That aside, why couldn't another Kyoshi Warrior have brought their fallen comrade?" The Earth King asked. "Surely there is a contingency for if one of them is ill or injured?"
"I-" Zuko struggled to find the right words. "Time was of the essence to my understanding-"
"Firelord Zuko," Lam Beifong said, shaking his head impatiently, "I'm afraid you covering up for your criminal sister's deviant behavior is only hindering this meeting."
"What?" Zuko said, slamming his fist on the table. Arnook placed a hand on his shoulder to keep him from rising to his feet.
"We are all well aware that the former princess arrived with her concubine," He said, concealing his smirk and Zuko's growing indignation, "but that is not the purpose of this meeting."
"You were the one who-" Zuko began heatedly.
"Firelord." The Earth King interrupted. "The reasons for Azula's appearance aside, why has she been allowed to roam freely?" All eyes turned to him. Zuko took a minute to compose himself.
"My sister is sick." He said as calmly as he could. "And she is being treated as such. Not a prisoner but a patient."
"And what is she sick with?" Lam Beifong interjected. "She appeared in perfect health when she attacked nobleman Gao." Gao nodded appreciatively at Lam.
"Her mind is sick." Zuko began.
"That much is obvious." Lam said, waving a hand. Zuko's lip twitched. "But please, continue."
"I firmly believe that every crime she committed during the war was due to that sickness and her following our father's orders." Zuko said, putting a hand to his chest.
"Ba Sing Se, one of the greatest Earth Kingdom cities fell because of her." An earth noble argued. "What sickness of the mind could allow someone to complete such a feat?"
"She's clever. She always has been." Zuko said, shaking his head. "But she wouldn't have done those things if my father hadn't-"
"We have the former Firelord's testimony still on record." A water tribe official brought up. "He gave his statements for which invasions he ordered and which he did not." Zuko bit his tongue. Of course Ozai would try to bring as many others down with him as he could.
"The Fire Nation had been trying to capture Ba Sing Se for years." Zuko said dismissively. "It doesn't matter if my father directly ordered it or not. She would have seen it as a way to make him proud."
"And is pride really worth the pain and suffering of so many Earth Kingdom citizens?" Lam asked.
"She was sick and it was war." Zuko argued.
"Sick or not her destruction was not limited to just the Earth Kingdom's people." Arnook said. "She was responsible for the placement of prisoners into rather cruel conditions."
"She was fourteen." Zuko said, exasperatedly. "My father was a madman who put a child in charge of dealing with prisoners of war and his other child in charge of capturing the Avatar!"
"We have taken her age at the time into consideration." The Earth King said, folding his hands. "That is why we allowed you to deal with her. But she is an adult now, and from what we've seen, still very much a threat."
"Didn't she make an attempt on your life when she was sixteen?" An earth noble said, reading from a scroll.
"She's getting better." Zuko said. "And sixteen is still so young."
"My daughter was sixteen when she sacrificed herself to protect her people." Arnook said solemnly. Zuko was temporarily at a loss for words. "I would argue her age does not provide an adequate enough excuse for such actions." There was a pause.
"The Earth King raised a good point." An earth noble spoke up. "Azula of the Fire Nation is an adult. Should she not speak for herself?" Several members nodded.
"What?" Zuko asked as his eyes widened.
"You said yourself that she is getting better." Arnook said, looking at him seriously. "She can answer for her past transgressions."
"She's in no state to-" Zuko began then stopped himself. "She can answer for her crimes once Ty Lee has been cured."
"Ty Lee?" One of the water tribe officials asked in a whisper as he leaned over to his neighbor.
"He means the Kyoshi whore." Lam whispered back loudly. Zuko glared at him incensed.
"What did you call her!?" He shouted across the table. His chair was knocked to the side as he rose to his feet.
"Nobleman Beifong!" The Earth King said reproachfully.
"My mistake. Concubine." Lam corrected himself with an overly polite bow. "It was only a slip of the tongue." He said with a smirk.
"Slip of the tongue or not, such disrespect would result in an Agni Kai back in the Fire Nation." An old voice chimed in. Zuko blinked in surprise and spun around.
"Uncle!" He said as a sense of relief washed over him. The smile slid off of Lam Beifong's face as soon as he laid eyes on the former general.
Ty Lee was lost in a dense fog. She could see nothing through the thick wall of gray surrounding her. An oppressive silence weighed heavily on her as she looked around. There had to be a way out of wherever this was. She took a step forward and heard an echoing splash. She glanced down to see she was in ankle deep water.
"Hello?" She called out tentatively. There was no answer. She hesitated before continuing forward. She couldn't remember how she had gotten here. One moment she was on Kyoshi Island and the next…
She continued walking through the fog. The only sound was of her footsteps splashing through the shallow water. She walked for what felt like hours before finally coming to a stop. Everything still looked the exact same as when she had started.
"Hello?" She called out louder. There was still no reply. However, a strange gurgling noise seemed to be coming from below her feet. Ty Lee frowned as she looked back down at the water. She was standing still and yet the surface was beginning to be disturbed. It looked like it was wriggling? She was about to squat down to look closer when she saw it. Worms. Hundreds of thousands of worms were rising to the surface. Her eyes widened in horror and she started to run.

My ATLA/LOK fanfic soundtrack no one asked for.
Read the title.
So I’ve been looking over some unwritten fics of mine, including an ATLA crossover story, and a Legend of Korra crossover story; both fics set in continuity with eachother, but crossover with different works.
The first story, The Ancient World was gonna a post ATLA fic, featuring monsters of the Godzilla franchise, being the remnants of an ancient and mythical world. Spoiler alert: the “Ancient World” refers to our world, which ended centuries before Avatar Wan’s time, at the hands of allegedly mythical beasts called Titans, in a mythic event called “The Final Wars”.
It also would have been an Azula redemption story. I’d go as far as to call Azula the stories secondary protagonist, after a stint of being a Decoy Antagonist.
As far as the Godzilla crossover goes, the monsters are primarily based of their Monsterverse incarnations, but there's a mystical edge to them based loosely on GMK to better fit the Avatar world. There's also a bit of psychism from the Heisei Godzilla series, with certain Benders gaining a link (Soul Bond, if you will) with some of the monsters; these can range from sensing thoughts and feelings of one another, to monsters strait up verbally communicating through a Bender.
The Ancient World has it’s own post, but since I’ve been revisiting and revising it over the past six months, I might do another post for the revised version
----
As for the Star Wars crossover; Age of Rebirth is partially based off a post Rise story I previously scrapped, and a Korra era follow up to The Ancient World.
On the LOK side of things, it was originally gonna be a standard sequel to The Ancient World, featuring Godzilla and other monsters making a return in Korra's era, with multiple subplots, including Korra and Asami being engaged; a dark cult infiltrating their worlds empires/governments; and the Team Avatar rescuing a child raised by said cult. And Asami being Tyzula’s granddaughter.
On the Star Wars side of things; we have Rey, Finn, Poe and Rose try to adjust to a Post-First Order Galaxy, where a new Galactic Republic (dubbed the "Republic Reborn" or "RR") plans to "expand" into other galaxies. This Republic is portrayed as pretty elitist, the source of many social problems; and especially nepotistic, putting value on people in dependence on their blood relations; as well as trying to create a more militant version of the Jedi Order to enforce their own extremist agenda.
The story would have Rey and her friends in opposition to the RR, both in conflicts of interests and the revelation of Rey's blood relation to Palpatine. It would also a feature conspiracy by a Dark Side cult, obsessed with resurrecting the "Chosen Bloodline", using blood stolen from the First Order’s medical labs- hiding out in a "backwater" galaxy, and infiltrating the governments of the planet Earth.
Anyways, I decided "Fuck it" and combined both stories into a crossover; the end result is Age of Rebirth. I’ll cover more on that story when it’s post is finished.
----
So with that, I wrote down a hypothetical soundtrack for both stories. Just cuz. No one asked me.
The Ancient World
Taking place two years or so after Avatar The Last Airbender (series and comics). The United Republic began international Mining operations in the Earth Kingdom and Water Tribes. When they dug too deep, they uncovered the remains of an ancient civilization lost to time, and regarded as myth. When dug deeper, they awaken Titans - beasts of these myths, that brought the Ancient World to an end, and may do the same to the current one. One such the Titan, known as “Godzilla”, decimates the Water Tribes and makes his way to and through the Fire Nation and Earth Kingdoms. Another is a weakened and wounded dragon fleeing the wrath of Godzilla; quickly showing its own spiritual power communicating with humanity. claiming to be “Ghidorah”, a guardian sent to protect the world from Godzilla. Too weak to do much of anything (save for destroying a vast cabbage field), Ghidorah is seen as harmless by the general populations, who rally behind him as a godlike figure, and the only one who can put a stop to Godzilla. The leaders of the Water, Fire and Earth Kingdoms elect to throw their armies to face Godzilla until such a time Ghidorah’s power is restored. An inevitable battle that not only threaten the three nations, but divides them; while Aang, his Team  and a small band of Kyoshi warriors, seek out the secrets of these monsters and try to find the way to put a stop to them with as little bloodshed as possible, Zuko is pushed by the other leaders, prioritizing the threat of Godzilla and a militant approach to deal with them. During an initial encounter with Azula and her followers out at sea, Godzilla attacks the expedition, getting them stranded on uncharted land. Between Ghidorah’s growing power, and the hero’s isolation, people on both sides find themselves going down the rabbit hole, learning of the Ancient World, and the monsters that brought it to an end in a bid to save their current one.

Age of Rebirth
Taking place two years after Legend of Korra season four, and Rise of Skywalker. On the eve of Korra and Asami’s planned wedding, Korra and her friends are contacted by a new presence in the Spirit World that is crossing over into the human world, forcing them to put their plans on hold to ask for their help.
This spiritual presence would also reveal itself in a Galaxy Far Far Away, where Rey has fallen out of favor with the newly formed “Republic Reborn” (RR). In the aftermath of the second Galactic Civil War, the RR has become a paranoid extremists regime, taking extreme measures in snuffing out remnants of the Empire and First Order, expanding their into other galaxies, and attempting to instill a more militarized Jedi Order. With the RR’s elitism and nepotism, Rey has fallen out of favor with the RR, when her blood relation to Palpatine is discovered and made public. When this spiritual presence reveals itself to Rey, it also reveals the existence of the “Dark Balance” - a Dark Side cult hoping to resurrect the “Chosen Bloodline” in hopes to bringing a new era of Darkness in the Galaxy; however they are hiding out of the Galaxy and on a distant planet - Earth. Republic City to be Specific. Rey and her friends (hereafter called Team Rey) take it upon themselves to track this cult down and put a stop to their plans…when it takes them too long to get to Earth, they go to Team Korra, who in turn rescue a baby being groomed and raised by the Dark Balance to be their “Messiah”. While this baby and his background is being uncovered, along with the Dark Balance’s goals, he displays force sensitivity, a power unknown to this planet. It is soon decided the baby (named “Liam”) will be put in Korra and Asami’s temporary care until everything is sorted out. Team Rey arrives shortly, and try to explain the situation…but the RR turn their attention to Earth in hopes to snuff out the Dark Balance, effectively starting an alien invasion, intending to force the planet under their rule, eventually forcing the heroes to go on the run when word of the child and his supposed parentage reaches the RR. And if that wasn’t enough, their presence awakens something from the Ancient World, on both Earth and the Spirit World hoping to finish a longstanding fight. Soundtrack

Speak No Evil (Part 35) - V2
So this first chapter of version 2 (V2), the TyZula path, is sort of going to be a repeat of chapter 18 with some altercations to fit the next storyline. Tbh I kind of recommend re-reading the chapters prior to it, that’s what I had to do lol.
The sun had begun to filter through the windows hours ago, spilling a pleasant and cheek-warming wash of gold over the upturned side of her face. But she remains in bed, head sunken into pillows that are so invitingly plush.
She supposes that she has earned, or at the very least, could use a day spent in bed. Or mostly spent in bed. There can’t be much harm in it, she and Zuko had come to Ember Island to relax. She has simply decided to take advantage of this rather late. She rolls onto her back and exhales. Her ankles are still throbbing lightly.
She stretches her arms and tries to prepare herself to fully wake up and rise out of bed. She could use breakfast, though at this point, it is lunchtime. She lingers for a moment in the hallway in front of the kitchen. Seicho is already awake, she probably has been for some time now.
“You don’t have to cook for me, you already did so much…” she hears Zuko mutter.
Seicho shrugs. “I like cooking, it’s a hobby.” She clearly has a lot of those, hiking, fishing, botany...it seems as though she has a new hobby for every day and she had spent a good portion of their trip going on and on about said hobbies.
“Are you sure?”
“Completely.” Seicho flashes him a grin. “But if you’d like, I can show you how to perfectly cook and season a lobster!” She inhales deeply. “It already smells wonderful. The trip was fun but it’s nice to have a full kitchen of cooking supplies!”
Azula supposes that it does smell nice, especially when she adds a touch of rosemary and a sprinkle of parsley. The woman catches her eye. “You’re finally awake!”
‘More or less.’ Azula spells out. She rubs at her eyes
“Are you feeling any better?” Zuko asks.
She holds up her hands and gestures, ‘a little’.
“Good. Believe it or not, I was worried.” He pauses, “I’m still worried.”
She wonders if Seicho has told him yet of how furiously she tried to hike up that volcano. Agni, she hopes that the woman hasn’t shared anything while she was asleep. She’d much rather tell him herself, if at all. ‘Why?’
“You weren’t doing too good when you left and you came back covered in cuts and...swollen ankles.”
She shrugs, ‘I’m fine.’
She can tell that Seicho is itching to speak up. She finds herself flooded with relief. Seicho holds her tongue. She wonders how long the girl with keep holding her tongue.
‘Really. I’m fine.’ And she thinks that she is telling the truth. She doesn’t feel particularly good nor hopeful. But she doesn’t feel naggingly miserable either. Her mind is still troubled with the task of working out how to approach TyLee should they see each other again.
They will see each other again, she promises herself this.
 .oOo.
TyLee bunches her fists and takes a deep breath. She isn’t yet ready, but she is as ready as she can and will be. Regardless of her hesitations, she needs to do this. She needs to if she ever wants to bring her journey one step closer to full closure.
She finds Mai outside of her aunt Mura’s flower shop, pruning leaves and ruffled petals. Zuko hadn’t expelled her from the palace, as far as TyLee knows but TyLee also can’t imagine that Mai would feel particularly welcomed there.
She takes another, much deeper breath. Agni, her hands are shaking. She isn’t sure how in the name of the spirits she is going to confront Azula. She thinks of Tuya and of the rest of her expedition mates. She thinks of the words ‘clever’ and ‘innovative’. She isn’t just ‘sweet’ and ‘cute’ anymore.
She isn’t just some bubbly, naive child.
Well perhaps she is still bubbly and chipper but she is smart. She is strong and resilient. She can hold her own.
She will hold her own.
“Hello, Mai.”
Mai looks up from her flowers as nonchalant and unexpressive as she always has been. Maybe she could use a venture away from the Fire Nation too. Maybe everyone can use a vacation from the Fire Nation. “How was your trip to…”
“The poles.” TyLee finishes. “It was amazing. Mai you should have seen it, it was glittery and enticing and it was like the Spirit World covered our world in stars…” she is rambling again. That stupid perky rambling. “And I learned a lot about myself.”
Mai quirks a brow. “Good things?”
TyLee nods. “Yes. A lot of good things.” She pauses. “And I thought about a lot too.”
“Like what?”
“Like about how I let everyone take advantage of me. Not just Azula but Zuko did it, you did it, and even Suki did it sometimes.”
Mai opens her mouth to interrupt but she won’t stand for interjection, not this time. “I don’t even think that you guys meant to do it. Azula, sure. But not Zuko and Suki. Sometimes I think that it just happened naturally. Because I let it happen. Because I couldn’t say no.”
“You didn’t mention me…”
“Because I’m not sure about you, Mai.” She confesses. “I’ve thought about it over and over again and I still can’t tell if you actually cared about me--if you actually loved me or if you were just trying to spite Azula and Zuko.” She wonders if Mai is even sure herself. Quite possibly she thinks that Mai had been killing two iguana-parrots with one stone.
“What if I told you that it was a mix of both?”
TyLee is quiet for perhaps longer than she has ever held a silence. The question has so much weight, so many nuances to consider. “Then I would say that it still isn’t okay. I don’t want to be part of some scheme. I didn’t distance myself from Azula to become your pawn instead.”
“You weren’t just a pawn…” Mai trails off.
“I was a pawn with perks.”
Mai shakes her head, “I loved you. For real.”
“So did Azula.” TyLee points out. “But I was still a pawn. I was still being used. Don’t you think it’s a little strange that you were trying to get back at Azula by doing the exact same things she did?”
“Why are you defending her?”
And there it is; the trap that they always set for her. She almost didn’t catch it. “I’m not. Actually…” it dawns upon her,  “I think it’s the opposite. I’m telling you that what she did, how she used me, was wrong. And I’m saying that it doesn’t become less wrong when you do it.” She bites her lip, weary of what she is about to say. She thinks that she may have already scratched at the surface of this nagging itch in her head. “If anything it’s worse when you do it.”
For the first time in a while, Mai looks genuinely angry. Her brows crinkle and her mouth curves down ever so slightly. “How so?”
“Because you think that you’re doing it for the greater good. And you pretended like you weren’t doing it. At least Azula was trying to stop and even if she wasn’t, at least she was up front about it…”  The problem with Azula, she realizes, is habit. Habit and constant apologies with no great efforts to make a change.
“What do you want from me, TyLee?”
“I want you to admit it. I want you to acknowledge that you were using me.” She wants clear cut confirmation that she isn’t seeing things that aren’t there. That she isn’t making an issue of nothing at all. She needs to know. “I need you to see that it...it really messed with me, Mai. To have so many people--to have the people I loved the most use me over and over again.” She attempts to blink away a few tears.
Mai’s expression softens and she rubs her hands over her face. “I did it okay. I loved you but I used you. I was mad at Zuko. Azula is the worst person I’ve ever met. And You’re one of the best. It was perfect; they’d both get hurt and I’d...we’d be happy.”
TyLee shakes her head. “ You’d be happy. I want to be loved, Mai. I want to be loved completely with no ulterior motives.” And it comes to her that she can be.
“So what are you going to do, TyLee? Cut us all out.”
She doesn’t want to. She’d love to keep talking to Mai and Zuko, and even Azula, if only in moderation. Deep down she thinks that she would like to love Azula again. It hurts but she knows that it is entirely possible that a talk would only solidify what she is already fairly certain of--that Azula doesn’t care who she hurts so long as her ego is intact. “If I have to. Don’t make me have to.” Silently she begs the same of Azula.
.oOo.
“No, no, like this!” Seicho takes her by the wrist and guides her hand.
‘Is there really an exact method of sprinkling salt on sizzle-crisps?’ Azula asks.
“There’s a particular way of arranging the dish too once the salt and spices are added. Personally I like to arrange my fruit slices and salad leaves to make pretty pictures…”
‘You like to play with your food.’
“It’s an art, princess! Culinary art. An undervalued art, if you ask me!” She pauses. “If you want, you can put the parchment aside and spell words out with fruit slices or sprinkle tyme to make letters.”
‘No thanks.’ She writes as Zuko grumbles, “and dirty our counters? We don’t have servants here so I’ll be the one cleaning the mess.”
“Azula can help!”
‘Azula won’t help.’ Cleaning is beneath her. Getting her hands dirty to knead dough and toss flour was a task better suited for serving personnel. She still isn’t sure why she has rolled out and flattened so many circles of dough. She gestures to them, ‘what for?’
“We’re going to wrap the sizzle-crisps in them, of course.” Seicho smiles.
Azula blinks.
“What kind of abomination are you having us make?” Zuko throws his hands up, kicking up a cloud of flour.
‘An affront to taste buds all over the Fire Nation. We ought to have you banished.’
“Don’t banish me until after you try it.” Seicho declares.
Azula picks up one of the sizzle-crisps and wraps it up in a blanket of dough. She supposes enduring the woman’s terrible cuisine creative process is the least that she can do.
.oOo.
Azula has grown unresponsive again. She doesn’t mean to in fact she had, had a nice time and had quite decently enjoyed her wrapped sizzle-crisps. But her mind is, as per usual, a mess. She thinks that she is letting things go too far. Stringing Seicho along. She is horrid with these sorts of things but she is almost certain that the woman has taken a very bright shine to her.
The shine is alarmingly bright and she hadn’t meant to plant the seeds for it. But the woman has been so good to her and, Agni, she could use love and company. So much so that sometimes she can fool even herself into thinking that she loves Seicho. And maybe she does, truly so, but she yearns so much for TyLee. And she knows exactly who she would pick if given a choice.
She rubs her hands over her face. When had she become so confused and conflicted? When had she become so delicate and volatile? She should stop thinking about this before she drives herself back into a sense of self-loathing.
“What’s wrong?” Seicho finally asks. She thinks that the woman has been dying to do just that since they started cooking.
‘Just thinking…’ She knows that she should elaborate because she knows damn well that Seicho will ask her to. She decides to wait for the request on the off chance that it won’t be made. Really, it would probably be good for her to get it off of her chest.
“About what?”
She should come out with the truth. But, spirits, she only has one friend and telling her that, that is how it will stay may well ruin it. She swallows before deciding on a careful partial truth. It is actually a whole truth, just not the one that needs to be spoken. ‘My voice.’  And truly, her lack of a voice is on her mind, just not as pressingly at the moment. She hovers the brush over the parchment as if to add something more. She almost scribbles down her confession. Instead she retracts her hand.
“What about it?”
‘I want it back.’
Azula’s stomach squirms when the woman touches her fingers to her lips. The motion is so delicate, so tender. She feels tears stinging in the corners of her eyes. She can have a lover…
TyLee probably won’t even take her back and if she doesn’t then she will regret having burned this bridge. Azula curls her fingers around her wrist.  She isn’t sure where to go from here. She knows that she is a fool for writing of a sure shot at affection for the slim chance that she can mend old relationships.
She can see the disappointment in Seicho’s eyes when she ultimately decides to put the woman’s hand back at her side. She shakes her head and looks at her parchment. Her stomach flutters and squirms. With a hand that shakes slightly she picks up the parchment again.
With a lump in her throat, she scrawls, ‘I still love TyLee. I still want her.’ Her hands tingle as though they too are charged with anxiety. She can’t yet bring herself to hold the parchment up. She doesn’t want to lose Seicho. She doesn’t want to lose her...her friend? Her companion. The woman who had saved her life for Agni knows what reason.
She hands the parchment to Seicho and follows the motion of her eyes. Notes the crease in her brow, the twitch of her lips. “Why didn’t you just say so?”
Azula blinks and Seicho laughs, “right.”  She hands the parchment back.
‘Well?’ Azula mouths.
“Well, what?”
Azula scribbles a quick, ‘you aren’t angry?’
“I can’t force you to love me, Azula.” She takes her hand. “I don’t want to, but if TyLee uh...found someone else…”
Azula flinches. For all she knows, TyLee has already made amends with Mai while she was traipsing about the jungle.
“...you still have someone who loves you.” She smiles.
Azula lets the woman pull her into a hug. Sometimes it is nice to be held, to take gestures of comfort. She hesitantly returns the embrace.
“Do you still want to talk about your voice?”
Azula pulls out of the hug and nods, ‘I would like to find the spirit. I want to actually find it, in the right jungle.’ She takes the parchment back and adds, ‘are you going to come with me again?’
“Of course I’ll come with you! And maybe we can see if TyLee and your brother can come along. I’ll just have to let Zhang-Zin know.”
 ‘That would be ideal, yes.’
Seicho’s overly enthusiastic smile returns. “Things are going to fall into place for you, you’ll see!” She insists.
Azula shrugs and mouths a halfhearted, ‘maybe’.
Seicho seems to think for a moment, “but I think that we should take a break first.”
‘A break?’
“We just got back from the jungle, you’ve got a lot on your mind, don’t you think that it would be nice to, I don’t know, go to the beach and relax a little. And then we can start planning our next quest.”
‘I…’ for a moment only the single letter remains on the parchment. ‘I guess that a break could be nice.’ But it could also be a waste of time. She can’t particularly see herself being able to relax. Not with so many things on her mind. Not when TyLee could be out there deciding that dating her is the worst thing that has ever happened to her or making out with Mai or some other gorgeous woman. Not when her voice is still null. Not when she is so skeptical that Seicho truly is alright with being only a friend.
She has an inkling that the only reason she is still so cheerful is because she is secretly hoping that TyLee has moved on.
Seicho leaps off of the bed. “Tomorrow, we can go shell hunting tomorrow and I can show you this tidal pool with these spiny urchins.” She is listing off so many ideas and Azula isn’t sure what her intentions are. Isn’t sure that this isn’t just some sort of scheme to try to rope her into a relationship.
Azula rubs her hands over her face--she supposes that this sort of paranoia is exactly why things have gone so amiss between she and TyLee. She wishes that she could just accept that, perhaps, some people do mean well.
That some people just try their best to make something good of dreadful or unexpected things.
Perhaps Seicho really does just want a lighthearted day with a friend.
Azula could use one of those. Maybe it is exactly what she needs; a relationship without romance. Something more carefree before delving back into much heavier subjects.
‘I’d rather avoid urchins.’
Seicho laughs out loud, a full body laugh. “Alright, no urchins.”

"Loving you forever can't be wrong even though you're not here, won't move on" - dark paradise, Lana Del Rey
I just HAD to remake that drawing last time I didn't really put that much thought into it so here's another hopefully better version where Azula after the boiling rock sees an old poster of ty lee when she was with the circus and she's sad ☹️ old version here

Thanks for tagging me @mikaslilworld!
ATLA Q&A:
General Questions:
1. Probably Sokka.
2. Aang, Hakoda, or Iroh. I can't choose between them.
3. I think I've always said fire.
4. Probably the Fire Nation. I like to think of them (admittedly very dramatically) as a "phoenix rising from the ashes" post-war, and I see a lot of hope and possibility for the Fire Nation.
5. I think I love the worldbuilding the most. There's very few big fantasy settings like it.
Could Get You Attacked Questions:
1. Katara is who popped into my head. Don't get me wrong, I love Katara as a character and I think she's one of the best characters in the show, but she just gets on my nerves more than the other members of the Gaang for some reason.
2. Aang. He's literally the title character, one of the strongest characters (and I don't mean in terms of bending) in the show, he's determined, he's a survivor, he's kind, good-hearted and just...it seems like he gets shunted off to the side in many ways, and he doesn't deserve that.
3. It's hard to say this, but the Earth Kingdom. Their story is absolutely mind-blowing when you think about it, but their aesthetic just...didn't appeal to me. I didn't find it as compelling as the Water Tribes or the Fire Nation.
4. My biggest unpopular opinion, if it can be called one, would probably have to be that Canon Zuko is the best version of Zuko. I hate the stereotypical Fandom Zuko - I'm sorry, but I really do. Fandom Zuko, from everything I've ever seen, is sort of a soft, awkward theater boi type of aesthetic, and that is not Zuko. Canon Zuko is awkward and a dork, yes, but he's also an angry, fiery-tempered kid who is determined beyond belief and has the guts to stand against everything he's ever known even though he knows the odds of victory are slim. He's a jerk but he has a heart of gold, and that's what I love about Canon Zuko.
Shipping Questions:
1. Either Maiko (because I love their entire story) or Smellershot (because I love the dynamic between then two).
2. Every time I see the Azula/Ozai tag on AO3 (and yes, I have seen it more than once), I actually want to puke. I'm sorry but I do.
3. No.
4. Azoren - Azula/Soren from The Dragon Prince. It's utterly ridiculous and the only content I've ever seen for it was by @captain-azoren but I can't help myself. I love it specifically because it's a slightly insane crossover ship.
5. Probably Smellershot, but they don't really get a lot of time in the show, so in that case Tyzula might be my second choice.
I'll tag @mycomfortblanket @terracyte @pidgeapodge and @soozencreates and anyone else who would like to do this!
ATLA Q&A:
General questions:
1. What's your favorite character?
2. What's your comfort character?
3. Which element would you bend if you could chose?
4. What's your favorite nation?
5. What makes you love ATLA the most?
Could get you attacked questions:
1. What's your least favorite character from the gaang?
2. What character you think it's severely underrated?
3. What's your least favorite nation?
4. What's your controversial ATLA opinion?
Shipping questions:
1. What's your favorite ship and why?
2. What's your least favorite ship and why?
3. Do you sometimes self-insert?
4. What's your crack ship?
5. Which non canon ship would you make happen if you were the creator?
Anybody can do it and you can chose if you want just one section. You can skip a question if you don't like it or don't find it interesting.
The answers can be as detailed as you want them to be.

The Beach Revisited
There seems to be some fascination with having sex on a beach. That Ember Island reveals the "true you," and the truth is that everyone comes here to get laid. Zuko suspects even Azula has an agenda with the way she talks about dominating the earth with Chan.
Of course, that was before they wreck his party. Admittedly, though, after an evening of fireside chats with friends and putting a couple of pretty boys in their proper place, Zuko is feeling pretty good. Or well, better, at least.
Afterward, he brings Mai back to their campfire which had died down to a purplish glow of smoldering embers. It's romantic, he thinks. He's still confused on where they stand in their so-called relationship, but this is the most responsive she's been to anything.
It's his first time, and he's nervous. Mai doesn't mask her frustration at his fumbling, although she acts equally as awkward. Zuko realizes it's over almost before it even began, because while his body went through the motions—rather quickly—his mind is a million miles away. Or maybe only a few miles away—back at the Capital, where he is more concerned about his performance as prince than boyfriend.
Mai stands quickly and tries to brush off the sand stuck to her sweat-slicked thighs. There is so much sand, and it is everywhere, in places it really shouldn't be. Mai is even kicking it back at him as she storms off.
Zuko hates the sand. He hates the beach. And if Ember Island has revealed anything, he wants to love the next person he gives himself to—that is, if he is even capable of finding love. He suspects not.
He is surprised to find Mai sitting near the rock pathway leading up to their beach hut. He hears Azula moaning loudly, and then he knows why. He fights everything in him to turn around and leave, but he should say something to her, at least.
"Chan?" he asks, not really wanting to know.
Mai raises an eyebrow. "Really, Zuko?"
The answer comes in the form of Ty Lee's shrill giggles. Zuko feels the color drain from his face.
"You wouldn't be so shocked if you'd paid attention," Mai intones.
Fire flares in his blood at this—at nearly everything she says, really. He grits his teeth. "It's not like I've been here, Mai. And it's not like Azula talks to me like a real person, either."
"Intuition has never been your strong suit, Zuko."
He decides she must be right, because he has NO idea what she's thinking ever. "So... are we a couple... or what?"
She sighs, exasperated. "Confidence has never been your strong suit, either."
"I thought it's what you wanted..."
She seethes at this, and he recognizes the restrained emotions. He did wish she would express herself more—maybe if he knew she felt something, he would, too.
"Zuko, you need to figure out what you want."
What Zuko wants more than anything is to Not. Fuck. This. Up. He's been secretly dating Katara for a few months, now, and he is electrified by her every touch. Agni, all she has to do is look at him a certain way, and it drives him wild. They've shared secret kisses in the palace gardens, behind closed doors of unoccupied conference rooms, and pretty much anywhere else they can manage without getting caught. It's proving more difficult, though, as a neediness hums through their veins. Hands start to roam. Clothing is pushed aside. Gasps echo in empty corridors.
The time has come. And Zuko will do it right. He hasn't invited her to his chambers, yet, because he knows exactly what will happen when they get there, and he wants to make sure it's perfect.
And it's almost perfect. There are candles and roses and champagne. Katara does not scoff at his romantic attempts. She receives them, relishes them, and best of all, responds to them. In their desperation, things happen more quickly than he would have hoped, but then it happens again... and again... and again.
Zuko doesn't want the beach and someone else's idea of sexy. He can definitely do without the sand and its chafing. And even the revelation of one's true self happened while wrapped up in red silk sheets and smooth bronze legs, with thoughts of Ember Island a million miles away.
Naturally, Katara would insist on a beach tryst on their next trip to the Fire Nation's iconic vacation spot. Because it feels good to be close to her element, she says. Because it's where she first got to know him, she adds. And because they can't keep their hands off each other, they take every opportunity they can get. Zuko relents to a beach sparring session to appease her, in full knowledge of where that would land them, of course. Rolling around in the damn sand, fighting for dominance.
She wins.
And even with the roughness at his backside, he's never seen anything more beautiful than her bare form framed by sun-kissed curls moving above him. It took a fair amount of aggression to pin him there and claim him with her body. But as tension builds and then breaks with release, he wonders what compelled him to fight her in the first place.
They find sand in all sorts of crevices for days, and both complain loudly about it. The rest of their Ember Island visit is spent recovering in bed with tender lovemaking, kissing and caressing raw and sunburnt skin.
They're officially engaged now, as of 30 seconds ago, and Zuko is in hot pursuit to seal the deal. He wants nothing to come between them—literally and metaphorically speaking—as he strips off her clothing and pulls her closer to him.
Except they're on a beach again. And of course, there's sand. And a jumble of memories that suddenly surface to make him feel uncertain. If intuition wasn't his strong suit, then was this really the right thing? For him, sure, but for her? And since he lacked confidence, too, he worried about the past, present, and future all in the span of the one minute it took for Katara's gestures to convince him otherwise.
When she lay there before him, open and ready to receive him—all of him, he knew this was right. It has always felt right. He flipped her over, though, to gain access to all the spots he knew would make her writhe in pleasure—a swirl and a flick of her swollen clit, a tease and a pinch of her ample breast, and a bite to the soft sweet skin in the dip of her shoulder.
When he entered her, she felt like the warmth of the sun and the depth of the sea, their worlds and elements combined. They didn't usually fuck in this position, despite their inclination toward frequency and creativity... hell, even scenery. Zuko marveled as he watched this scene unfold—his throbbing cock pulling out from her slick folds and then slamming back into her tight heat while her whole body convulsed with her rising climax.
"FUCK! Yes, Zuko. YES!"
Her words sent him over the edge, too, but he also heard them as the answer to his question. Yes, Zuko. My answer has always been yes.
Written for Zutara Smut Week 2017 with some attention given to the prompts: dominance, virginity, embers, and aggression. A little TyZula thrown in there for my pal, QueenTy, and I suppose it may be obvious, but the last segment corresponds with Fantasy Part II and Chapter 27 of The Dragon and the Wolf. Sorry for the Maiko intro, though. I'm not anti-Mai, btw. I think she has an interesting backstory and could use a lot more character growth than given in canon. I'd love to see her in a relationship that spurs that growth.
