author's note: this is my first post! i'm still practicing my writing and trying to find my style :)) hope you'll enjoy it nevertheless!

You must have still been dreaming – waking up in the embrace of the boy whom you harboured immense feelings for doesn’t seem real at all – but five minutes have passed since you opened your eyes to the beautiful sight beside you, and you slowly accept that this might as well be a dream you would never want to wake up from.

With the way he envelops you in his hold, occasionally tugging you close whenever he feels like you’re trying to break away from him, there is hardly any space between the two of you.

He is still sleeping soundly - you hear him breathing, his warmth exuding - and you couldn’t dare to disturb his peace.

So you let yourself nestle comfortably in his hug and hum against his chest.

Your mind slowly drifts back to last night’s events that lead up to this moment. It’s true that coming home with the campus heartthrob is something out of a corny romcom Netflix movie you often watch as a guilty pleasure – you blame alcohol for your sudden courage, yet what made you fearless was the fact that he wanted you just as bad – but since this concerns with your feelings, you desperately want to confirm if this won’t be a one-time thing or if you should just get ready for an inevitable heartbreak.

Because, the last time you checked, there is no way that Choi Beomgyu knew your name. There is no way he knew of your existence.

Though the way he melted into your touch, kissed you, and sweetly chanted your name in desperation says otherwise.

You want to believe that, you really do.

You snap out of your thoughts when you feel him move. You watch as his eyes flutter open, looking evidently sleepy yet dreamy at the same time. You wish there is a way for you to immortalize this moment, eternally ingraining it into your memory, because you’re convinced that none of this is real and you’re afraid of wanting more of something that won’t be yours to keep.

“Hey,” he says. Your heart flutters at the sound of his raspy morning voice. His presence is dizzying - everything about him overwhelms you so much to the point you couldn’t say anything back to his greeting. “Earth to Y/N … are you still with me?” He chuckles at the way your cheeks flush red.

You try to stay calm, but it’s hard to do so when your name slips off of his lips like honey and when he brushes the curtains of your hair so delicately.

“Hi,” you manage to say it back. He smiles. “did you have a good sleep?”

From this close proximity, you’re sure that he’s able to hear your heart beating fast. There’s no way he couldn’t hear it. You turn into a blushing mess just from looking at him, and how could you not? Seeing him up close like this has always been a distant dream of yours. So you bask in his beauty with the hopes of being given the time to savor it all up before the both of you return to being strangers again.

He doesn’t answer. Instead, he suddenly buries his face in your neck - catching you off guard. You whimper when you feel his hot breath against your cool skin, and you could hear him giggle softly. He is kissing the spot where he left the blossoming bruises last night as you sigh at the pleasant sensation.

“Beomgyu,” you whisper his name.

There is one thing that you love about the Choi Beomgyu who’s currently lying next to you: his gentle stares. You’re not sure why he would look at you in such a way, given that prior to this event you two have never talked before, knowing nothing about each other. But you do know him, only on the surface. You’ve loved him for as long as you remember. The two of you went to the same high school, but he had always been out of your league. You treasure those glimpses of him performing in music festivals with his electric guitar and singing with his uniquely deep alluring voice.

You seem to have a habit of losing yourself in your thoughts. This time, Beomgyu pulls you from your trance with a kiss on your forehead. “What are you thinking about?” He inquires.

“What you said last night… was it true?”

“Of course.” He reaches for your cheek and caresses it. “I don’t do random hookups, mind you.”

You reach for his hand which is busy making circles on your cheek, holding it firmly. “But that was the first time we met? First time we talked?”

His voice trails off and you’re afraid to admit that you’ve lost him the second he mentioned about tenth grade, music classes, and piano.

“Oh.” It is a dumb thing to utter, but your brain short circuits at the revelation that Choi Beomgyu does, in fact, know who you are. Remembers who you are.

“I was surprised at how pretty you’ve become and how confident you actually are. Or was it because you had one drink too much? We were playing spin the bottle and when it landed on me, you–”

“Stop! Oh my god, don’t remind me.” You squeak while covering your face with your hands. You made a mental note not to get drunk ever again - who knows what kind of liquid courage you'd be capable of mustering next time.

“Anyway.” Beomgyu clears his throat. You know that deep down he’s trying so hard not to laugh. “That’s why I said what I said last night. I want to know you better, Y/N. I can’t let this opportunity pass. I’m scared you’ll run away again if I don’t profess how serious I am about you.”

You find honesty in his eyes and sincerity in the way he delivers his confession. You probably need days to process that the Choi Beomgyu is basically asking you out. Well, after what you both did last night, it would actually be so awkwardly painful for you if nothing happened afterwards. You were pretty much convinced that there was no way you could have a shot with him, yet here you are.

He looks at you expectantly. You didn’t realize you have been quiet the whole time.

“Are you asking me to be your girlfriend?” You bashfully ask.

“Yeah. We’ll go on many dates, get to know each other, and I’ll make up for all the lost time… if that’s okay with you.”

“I have the biggest crush on you, silly. Of course it’s okay with me. I would love to.”

Beomgyu’s face beams in delight. His eyes sparkle with a mischievous glint as he leans in to close the gap between you both. The kiss is chaste and sweet - it marks the beginning of something new and exciting for the two of you.

“Aren’t you late for class?” You mumble as Beomgyu smothers you in another affectionate hug. He doesn’t care, it seems.

“I know. But I’d rather listen to the story of you having a crush on me than Professor Yoon’s boring lecture, hm?”

Now it’s your turn to laugh. You’re so happy you don’t know what else to do but surrender to Beomgyu’s warmth.

⤷ okay, so as all of us are aware.. this man is an absolute menace/tease to those around him. now, that said, his lover’s height just gives him endless material.

"did you shrink overnight, or did the floor get taller?"‎

⟡ he always bends down dramatically to look you in the eyes when teasing you, like, exaggerated squatting with a smug grin.

⟡ has IOO% given you nicknames like 'pocket-sized', 'travel-friendly,' or just casually refers to you as a mini 'keychain' of his.

⟡ you'd glare at him, standing on your tiptoes to appear taller, and he immediately leans back to make it worse, probably smirking, "whoa, calm down there, skyscraper."

despite the teasing, he’s incredibly soft when it comes to you !!

⟡ loves how easy it is to rest his chin on your head with literally no effort. when you’re standing together, doing anything, he'll absentmindedly place his hand on top of your head like it’s second nature—sometimes just to annoy you, sometimes because it’s comforting.

⟡ "you’re so small, it’s like hugging a heated pillow," he'd mumble when cuddling, nuzzling into your hair.

bickering is part of the charm, of course. it's ksm.

⟡ he lives for these exchanges, but he’s also the type to laugh quietly under his breath when you try to retaliate.

⟡ he'd adjust his pace automatically when walking with you, but he still has to comment on it every time.

⟡ when he has a concert or a fanmeet, and you're attending, he’d subtly check on you in the crowd, texting, “can you see? or do i need to bring you a step stool?” ..because like, your height is definitely a topic all the DANG time.

acts like he’s not a clingy boyfriend, but he 100% is.

⟡ so he loves loves LOVES when you cling to him, wrapping your arms around his waist because it makes him feel all big and protective.

⟡ when sitting together, he'd pull you into his lap, and rest his chin on your shoulder because it’s convenient—definitely not because he likes being close to you or anything.. (he totally does !!)

"why are you sitting on me." "because you’re warm. and you're my boyfriend?"

⟡ he'd grumble, but his arms are already wrapped around you tightly. he's loving it, literally, he just doesn't wanna admit. might make you sleep on the bed though while he tortures you back, holding onto you like you're gonna disappear.

clothes-sharing struggles..

⟡ you’d try to steal his hoodies, but they’re comically too oversized on you.

⟡ he’d pretend to complain and laugh at that, “that hoodie’s eating you alive,”but secretly loves how adorable you look practically drowning in his clothes. like a little dwarf, his dwarf.

⟡ sometimes he purposefully leaves his sweaters lying around because he knows you’ll wear them.

affectionate in quiet, understated ways.

⟡ tugs you closer by the sleeve of your shirt when he wants attention.

⟡ lowkey obsessed with patting your head or gently poking your cheek to annoy you—but the soft glint in his eyes betrays how fond he actually is.

⟡ when you’re upset or mentally exhausted, he’ll pull you like a ragdoll, into his chest without saying much, resting his chin on your head, rubbing small circles on your back. “it’s okay, love. i’m here.

⟡ his favorite thing? when you stand on your tiptoes to kiss him.

⟡ he’d lean down just a little to meet you halfway, but not enough to make it easy. of course, he’s gonna edge you about it

⟡ he’d tease, eyes crinkling with amusement, smirk on his pink lips that you wanted to kiss so so so bad. :(

⟡ then after a little more, he’d cup your face and finally kiss you properly, like you’re the most precious thing in the world.

⟡ at the end of the day, no matter how much he teases you about your height, seungmin’s absolutely smitten. you’re small, sure—but you’re the biggest part of his heart. not in size or shape but emotions.
