MDZS manga - chapter 4 English translation

This chapter had so many SFX! 😭
English translation of chapter 4 of the MDZS manga. Please consider supporting the official release at cmoa.jp!
Chapter 1 - Chapter 2 - Chapter 3 - Chapter 4
mangadex link
A bit of yapping for a translation note, Sizhui and WWX both use 校 when referring to (what I've translated as) the Lan clan on pages 7 and 9, but this is more accurately translated to school/sect.
I'm opting to instead translate it to clan, even if sect is a more accurate translation to the Japanese version. In the original Chinese version sect is almost never used (as far as I can remember), and it's a relevant aspect of the story that prestige is tied to bloodline, rather than merit. I do think that translations of this line to school/sect are still fine, as it would be more accurate to the Japanese translation. It's also possible that non-Lan students of the Lan clan would still have the incantation-embroidered robes, and Sizhui could've been referring to the clothes in general. In this case, sect/school would still be perfectly usable. Everyone in this scene at least has headbands, marking them as family members of the Lan clan.

third in my series of typographical ex libris—vide ‹typographical ex libris 2›.

I am the moved on by Thisliminalspace @thisliminalspacedaydreams
I don't even know where to start, lol. I loved this fic, but let me tell you, the lovey person behind the story... just love ya mar!!
This fic was a whole thing. I went from 1 idea to another, trying to make it perfect. Ultimately, I got to accept that things can't always be flawless and all those flaws are parts of me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As always below the line, there are spoilers... and more pics
So the typest had to be reworked a few times. I was unsure as to what I wanted, so I kept it as close to what I felt was the essence of the fic and mpreg... did I motioned this was an mpreg fic?
I had to
Tumblr media
I added gold foil to the titles. Initially, I was looking to do a multi color thing, but it didn't work out. Additionally, I used wooden letter blocks for the drop caps and brooms for the scene breaks
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After that, we have the binding info. This baby was printed on what I would call happy paper, lol. I love the texture and the colorful dots on it, I also hand dyed my thread to match my bookcloth. The endpapers also match the bind.
The bind style was inspired by @rhipidurafan, thansk to the renegade server for helping me with advice as to how to put this case together! 💙
Here are a few process pics of putting the case together. The cover was machined foiled for the story title, I did hot pink and used a very fun patterned foil for the writer's name
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hand-made endbands using viscous thread and 2mm leather core. I also included a nice golden ribbon
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As always, if you would like to learn how to bookbind, consider joining the @renegadeguild discord server

Hi again! ✨ Hope you’re doing well! 🥀
I’ve been waiting to post this picture until my friend gets the books, and she did now! 😊
Couple months ago I found this typest for Vampire Academy from Dimitri’s POV and I immediately knew thats the perfect gift for my friend. 💫
And as fan of VA, I also had to bind it for me too. 😈

Crate of the Week
This week's crate is layoutparser-ort, a simplified port of LayoutParser for ML-based document layout element detection.
Despite there being no suggestions, llogiq is reasonably happy with his choice. Are you?
No matter what your answer is, please submit your suggestions and votes for next week!
Calls for Testing
An important step for RFC implementation is for people to experiment with the implementation and give feedback, especially before stabilization. The following RFCs would benefit from user testing before moving forward:
RFCs
No calls for testing were issued this week.
Rust
No calls for testing were issued this week.
Rustup
No calls for testing were issued this week.
If you are a feature implementer and would like your RFC to appear on the above list, add the new call-for-testing label to your RFC along with a comment providing testing instructions and/or guidance on which aspect(s) of the feature need testing.
Call for Participation; projects and speakers
CFP - Projects
Always wanted to contribute to open-source projects but did not know where to start? Every week we highlight some tasks from the Rust community for you to pick and get started!

Rust Compiler Performance Triage
A quiet week; we did have one quite serious regression (#115105, "enable DestinationPropagation by default"), but it was shortly reverted (#125794). The only other PR identified as potentially problematic was rollup PR #125824, but even that is relatively limited in its effect.
Triage done by @pnkfelix. Revision range: a59072ec..1d52972d
3 Regressions, 5 Improvements, 6 Mixed; 4 of them in rollups 57 artifact comparisons made in total

Hi I just wanted to let u know that I haven't stopped thinking about ur femc comic since I saw it. The colors are so good and the quote tears me apart it's sosososo good
Yo... the COMPLIMENT of this, unparalleld. IN TEARS is what I am. I know I'm only replying now, but I've been thinking about your ask the last few days and I'm still riding that high, so thank you fdfdf
Tumblr media Tumblr media
more under the cut bc it turns out I always have way more to say than I think haha
That quote has been a sleeper agent inside my brain for sooo long and as I was on my 6th or smth try of beating P3 (I kept playing past the halfway point and then falling off bc of adhd), it came across my dash again and I connected the fucken dots dfdfdf. I think it was also kinda around the time when the remake leaks started to go around and I had several, uncheritable thought & onions on that. Another artwork idea that i had for when I finished the game was a still life called "Treasure" and it would've depicted all of the items you get when you complete a social link. But I'm not strong eough for that haha Obvs a very applicable quote to a lot of media but oughghgh it fits Hamuko SOO well. Narratively ofc but also in the way atlus treats her lmao. < I've never got through PQ2 myself but thinking about her in that game makes me SO sad jfc wdym you got dropped here all on your own, none of your friends remember youand also you're playing the second fiddle to some short emo guy??? < I'm going insane
uh sry about that, coming back to the topic at hand: I think I did the sketch in August of last year? and then started the rendering process in September. I had that comic pretty much finished then. EXCEPT for the third panel, which changed quite drastically. It was a lot closer to the in-game color palette of that scene before and.. it looked okay... < I'm lying, it looked sooo boring, where are my shrimp colors?? No atmosphere at all So i dropped it "for a hot sec" i.e.: whoops it's suddenly february (I wanted to have it queued for p3r's release, uh oh better fucken crunch it.) Rushing in at the last sec to finish it definitely had some pros and cons haha.
I think it turned out pretty well in the end despite it all and knowing me I probs wouldn't have picked it up again if not for that self imposed deadline lmao;;; I'm becoming a bit irked by my typestting on the second panel..
I might go back and fix it if it bother me too much.

typest of shits right there ^
Outsiders headcanons!!
In general
- Darry will just sit on top of anyone in the gang who pisses him off. He can do it everyone really easily.
- (modern???) they all play the circle game with eachother (where you hold a 👌 under your waist and make them look) and it starts fights sometimes.
- Two-bit says “he’s right behind me.. isn’t he..” whenever literally anyone walks into a room.
- he’ll also just repeat whatever anyone said in a nerd voice and gets punched 5/10 times
- if Pony wakes up late, darry would say something about it like “WELL LOOK WHO CAME OUTTA THEIR CAVE” and receives the longest groan ever.
- Johnny picks stickers off of everything and puts it on everyone’s back (nobody knows it’s him. they have an investigation going.)
- *Pony points to a Halloween mask with fucked up teeth*
“Steve, I didn’t know you were famous ‘round here”
- if anyone comes up to dally with their problems (except for pony and Johnny) he’ll just make a really long sigh and say “and the world kept spinning… 😞”
- I like to think that pony doesn’t have a good sense of direction especially when he’s walking in a group so Soda has to like nudge him or turn him when they’re turning a corner.
- soda and pony also can’t stand/sit still so they rock if they aren’t walking. (Pony back and forth, soda side to side.)

I think these are mostly from the misogyny kink community, there's a pretty large demographics. It has a lot of women in it, too.
Also, if xou typest "men are", it gives xee one instance of "men are superior" (probably the same community again), and

I'm not saying thou'rt wrong about anything, it's just for the record.
hey guys, have you ever tried typing "women are" in tags on mobile and seeing what pops up? you know how if you start typing a tag it will suggest things youve tagged stuff with before, BUT if there are no matches with your previously used tags, it will suggest other peoples popular tags on whatever posts? because these are the first tags that pop up jsyk

Few weeks ago I've came across this typeset for folklore/evermore songs and as huge Swiftie of course had to have it!

Create a Testing sub-team
Final Comment Period
Every week, the team announces the 'final comment period' for RFCs and key PRs which are reaching a decision. Express your opinions now.
RFCs
No RFCs entered Final Comment Period this week.
Tracking Issues & PRs

Call for Testing
An important step for RFC implementation is for people to experiment with the implementation and give feedback, especially before stabilization. The following RFCs would benefit from user testing before moving forward:
No RFCs issued a call for testing this week.
If you are a feature implementer and would like your RFC to appear on the above list, add the new call-for-testing label to your RFC along with a comment providing testing instructions and/or guidance on which aspect(s) of the feature need testing.

Quote of the Week
In [other languages], I could end up chasing silly bugs and waste time debugging and tracing to find that I made a typo or ran into a language quirk that gave me an unexpected nil pointer. That situation is almost non-existent in Rust, it's just me and the problem. Rust is honest and upfront about its quirks and will yell at you about it before you have a hard to find bug in production.
