OC OTP Song List

I got tagged for this by @the-sith-in-the-sky-with-diamond​ ! Thank you, and sorry it’s taken so long to crank out!

To be perfectly honest, I have a much more comprehensive list of OTP songs for my original story - Rogue: The Razimarr Quartz Story - than I do for All Were Innocent Once. As such my descriptions/reasoning for those pairings will likely be much shorter than those I’ll provide for my other couples. In fact, I still don’t really have a song for Eonur and Lana, but hopefully that will come with time.

Anyways, on to the pairings and their accompanying songs!

Raz/Mynai (adolescence)

“Closer” cover by Boyce Avenue feat. Sarah Hyland

This song has always just kinda struck me as a Raz/Mynai song for a variety of reasons. It kinda works better as a song where Raz is reflecting on their relationship as an adult, the opening lines matching his behavior a bit more as an adult than as a teenager (”Hey, I was doing just fine before I met you/ I drink too much and that’s an issue but I’m okay”). The repetition of “we ain’t ever getting older” reflects their mindset while dating as teens; it’s a quasi-blissful living-in-the-moment and enjoying what they have despite knowing at the back of their minds that one day it’ll all fall apart.

Raz/Mynai (adulthood)

“Swimming in a Lovely Sea of You” by Michael Whalen

This is sort of an odd one to have on here due to the fact that it has no lyrics. It’s melancholic, but kinda peaceful too. It’s a song where I clearly picture Raz waking up in the middle of the night beside Mynai while in the cartel and feeling torn between the life he has now - filled with excess and hedonistic pleasures - versus the life he had with her as a teenager. He feels considerable guilt for carrying on with other women despite being reunited with her, but is simultaneously afraid of losing her again and unwilling to let himself be vulnerable around her either. This is a song for those quiet moments where Raz’s conscience starts coming through again after he’s pushed it down so much in the cartel, putting fractures that wall he’s put up until it finally comes crashing down not too long later.

Raz/Rysha 

“Work Song” by Hozier

The quintessential Raz/Rysha song. The lyrics have so much to do with being loved despite all of the bad they singer has done in his life, which is almost exactly how Raz’s story has gone up to meeting Rysha: “My babe would never fret none/About what my hands and my body done/If the Lord don’t forgive me/I’d still have my baby and my babe would have me.” Just the total sincerity in the song and how much peace the man’s lover brings him strongly resembles their relationship. She is someone in whom he has placed all his trust, all his love, and for the first time ever he feels totally safe with that. 

Terasas/Valika

“Our Song” by Ron Pope

Nothing super in-depth about this one; I just find it a cute little song that matches them. The opening few lyrics mention the singer and his love dancing together slow on the riverbank, and since Terasas and Valika live right next to a river (and since Terasas is the kind of romantic that would do this) I can see him pulling her close to hum a song for her while they dance. There’s also the fact that the singer gets along well with his love’s parents, which is true of Terasas with his in-laws. That being said Terasas doesn’t exactly ask her father for her hand because Terasas’ proposal is more brought on suddenly by Valika’s surprise pregnancy with their daughter.

Terasas/Mynai

“At the Beginning” by Richard Marx feat. Donna Lewis

I had trouble picking a song for these two, but I ultimately settled on this one. Both Terasas and Mynai go through so much before finally finding each other. Mynai was Terasas’ first real crush back when she was dating Raz, and for a long time he had to conceal his feelings for her as to not betray his friend. Since they meet as teenagers, and go through so much before finally winding up together, this song reflects that journey they both underwent before finally ending up happy together.

Cirak/Dekon

“Under a Dome” by Of Monsters and Men

Honestly I can’t say too much about this one due to spoilers for All Were Innocent Once, but definite parts of the song work for their relationship. Particularly I imagine in the second verse them watching fireworks together on the beach by their home on Ord Mantell: “Under a dome/Where I met you first/Fuck the way we were/Wait/Watch the colors burst.” There’s a scene in my head actually - if I were directing a show or something - where I would place this song, and it’s not actually AWIO (maybe class story...or later?) >.>

Tyar/Jaesa

“Heathens” by Twenty-One Pilots

Okay, to be perfectly honest, this freaking couple was the hardest one to find a song for. Tyar is batshit crazy. DS!Jaesa is batshit crazy. They are a batshit crazy couple whose favorite activities swing between crazily butchering their enemies on the battlefield and engaging in rough carnal passion back home. They are not stable. That being said, I think “Heathens” works moderately well. The lyrics that stick out to me in particular are “You’re lovin’ on the psychopath sitting next to you/You’re lovin’ on the murderer sitting next to you/ You’ll think “how’d I get here sitting next to you?” which works for the fact that they’ve both fallen so far from their respective days as Jedi.

8: Cirak has a tendency to lovingly refer to Dekon as “Mando” because...well, Dekon is a mandalorian. It’s actually a nickname that he started to be derogatory (due to the tense history between cathar and mandalorians), but over time warped into being a term of endearment.

7. Well, Eonur starts reevaluating a lot of his views he holds on the Sith, because Lana has made him start seeing them differently through her. He tries to approach relations with the Sith as less adversarial and strives more for coexistence, although he doesn’t endorse the Sith Code. Lana I think becomes kinder, I guess, let’s her guard down around him a bit more. This is of course after her guard goes waaaay up due to the bad case of the feelings she’s catching, but in time becomes comfortable around him.

29. This is actually a really tough one for me, but I’d have to say that it’s how much they feed off of each other’s anger and hatred, when they really could’ve healed each other with better control over their emotions. I think love could’ve made them less psychotic and murdery, but because of all their repressed feelings they couldn’t find a way to express how they felt about each other. Hence their concept of dates is butchering Jedi, their concept of love-making is rough sex bordering on violence, and their idea of good parenting is training their kids to be relentless killers. With their similar experiences from their time as Jedi, had they learned to process their emotions better and, you know, talked things out they really could’ve become more stable people (stable for Sith, that is).

So I went a little nuts with character creator tonight...

When I make characters I often times like to imagine what their kids would be like (assuming they have kids), and tonight I wanted to play around in SWTOR imagining what they’d look like as adults. Pretty much all of the exists solely in my head except for Cirak’s two kids, whom I plan on showing up if I ever write the events of KOTET/KOTFE, although they’d only be about 10-11 at the time (I imagine that all the fame from winning the Great Hunt resulted in Cirak going on a bit of a sex spree during his victory tour through the galaxy with any man, woman, or groups that were interested, so unsurprisingly he conceived a few children from these encounters). Despite their similar appearances his two kids actually have different mothers.

Go ahead and check the captions for details. I’m especially proud of how Eonur/Lana’s daughter turned out. Like, I’m really happy with her.

None of them are named right now, so if anyone has a name idea I’d love to hear it!

OC Interview - Tyar Kiht

A long while ago I said I was going to do this for Terasas Feldspar and Tyar Kiht after having done it for Raz and Cirak. I did it for Terasas, but Tyar somehow fell threw the cracks. 

...yeah, he’d kill me for that.

I got tagged by @a-muirehen, so I’ll do Tyar finally. Fair warning, he’s a bit of a dick.

“Lord Tyar Kiht, The Empire’s Wrath, and Scourge of the Republic.”

2. Do you know why you are named that?

“The first was the name given to me. The rest was what I deserved.”

3. Are you single or taken?

“Jaesa and I are currently a pair, but she knows better to think that she owns me in any ways. We will remain such until circumstances change.”

4. Have any abilities or powers?

“I am a Sith Lord. I am power.”

I love the way she writhes under me as I hold her life on my whim. I particularly enjoy how my subordinates are clearly uncomfortable with our passion, especially Vette. She cannot make eye contact for days.”

Daily Random Character Facts: Day 23

The dice seem to really love Tyar. The dice must be evil.

The only SW companion that Tyar remotely respects is Jaesa, but even his view of her is positive only for her killing prowess, ferocity, and that she channels the intensity from both in the bedroom. 

Vette is just a common slave despite her cheekiness, and he only removed her collar to prove that he doesn’t need it to order her around.

Quinn is a sniveling rat whom he really should’ve killed after his betrayal, but kept alive so that he could lick Tyar’s.

Pierce is a typical Imperial grunt. End of story.

Broonmark is an alien freakshow, but at least he’s good at killing.

(Just wanted to emphasize that these are Tyar’s opinions of his companions, not my own view of them)

O1 are they optimistic or pessimistic?

Eonur is a fairly optimistic, and tends to appeal to people’s best qualities when trying to convince them to do the right thing. Sith in particular, and it’s how he convinced Praven to abandon the Sith and join the Jedi Order. There are limits to his optimism, though, and it doesn’t quite veer into fullblown idealism. For example, even he realized that the Sith Emperor was in no way able to be redeemed, and thus crushed him with some rocks during their confrontation. Some people are beyond saving in his eyes.

O2 are they openly optimistic, throwing it on others?

He knows other people’s limits, but yes, Eonur does share his optimism with others. It’s how he appeals to people’s sense of right and wrong; he has to believe that they see their goodness too.

O3 are they good at giving advice?

Honestly, no. He’s good at making emotional appeals to people or even encouraging them, but when it comes to sound, logical advice he doesn’t have much to say. “Follow your heart” at best.

O4 is there anyone in their life that throws optimism on them?

T7 and Kira Carsen mostly. T7 is Eonur’s happy little cheerleader droid.

O5 were they always optimistic?

No. As a child he had nothing to hope for. Slavery was his daily life, it was all he’d ever known, and he believed it would be the only thing he’d ever know. There was no point in hoping for anything else. It wasn’t until he was rescued by Orgus Din that things actually began to get better, and since then Eonur’s been boundlessly optimistic. 

N1 what would they never do?

Commit an act of utter cruelty that conflicted with the Jedi Code. He sees such actions as unforgivable, regardless if it’s something sanctioned by the Republic (Belsavis was a particularly reprehensible place to him). He may have next to no emotions or social skills, but he does have a conscience. 

N2 what have they never done that they want to do?

Go on an excavation dig of some historical site. He’s studied archaeology from a distance before, but not really in person; the war made it difficult as a Padawan, and his role as the Barsen’thor doesn’t give him that leisure. 

N3 is there anything they absolutely can’t believe people do?

Join/embrace the dark side of the Force. It does not compute.

N4 what is the most embarrassing thing they’ve done?

That’s hard to say because Greylam, for the most part, just does not get embarrassed by things. To him it would probably be something like dropping a holopad of a book he was reading from the library and feeling guilty about it getting scratched.

N5 have they done anything they thought they’d never do? 

He does not like flying and thus never expected to drive a speeder. It’s not much of a surprise that he prefers mounts that are actually living creatures as opposed to vehicles. 

S1 are they street-smart?

Very. Sondan Kiht trained his eldest son well on how to survive in Nar Shaddaa, and Cirak carries those lessons with him whenever he’s in a sketchy cityscape. Having a smuggler for a father helped prepare him for potential danger and how to turn it into an advantage.

S2 would they give money to someone on the streets?

No. Who knows what they would go do with it. Besides, greed is one of his biggest flaws, and he’s not easily parted with his credits. He’d much rather keep it for himself for his own recreational fun.

S3 have they ever gotten in a fight on the streets?

He’s a bounty hunter. Countless of his hunts have taken place on city streets.

S4 has anything happened to them on the streets?

Plenty. Cirak spends a lot of time out there due to his bounty hunting, so he has seen plenty of things while on the streets. Not all of them bad I’m sure.

S5 are they cautious when out?

In a casual way. Cirak puts on a calm veneer when out and about, but like I said earlier he was taught by his father how to always be prepared out in dangerous areas. Cirak checks for people who might be dangerous, could be following him, etc. 

J1 what makes them happy?

Anything thrilling, things that get his blood pumping and adrenaline racing. Speeder racing/driving, fighting (and as a Sith, unfortunately, killing). He loves the rush, and he feels most connected to the Force when he’s in such a situation. 

J2 who makes them happy?

As a Jedi his friends: Eonur and Greylam. They grew up together, trained together, survived the Sacking of Coruscant together, etc. This unfortunately didn’t last. As a Sith it’s pretty much exclusive to Jaesa. They share the same bloodlust (and lust lust, which they happily express towards each other in the bedroom), and fight side-by-side all the time. She’s one of the few Sith he considers on his own level.

J3 are there any songs that bring them joy?

None that I can particularly think of.

J4 are they happy often?

Not anymore. Tyar spends most of his days as a Sith fueled by his rage and hatred. Letting go of that would be letting go of his power.

J5 what brings them the most joy in the world?

Feeling powerful, feeling like nothing in the galaxy can stop him. There’s a sort of freedom in that, and he revels in it.

And the last ones for today! Did Tyar ever have any other partners before Jaesa? And can you tell me more about Gadran Sosa (Eonurs Father)

While he’s not the same bundle of horniness his older brother is, Tyar has still had a number of partners over the years, the number increasing after he left the Jedi Order. His first time happened while he was still a Jedi Initiate with another Jedi undergoing training as well, and later on he pursued a brief-but-intensely passionate relationship with a woman in the Republic army.

After leaving the Order Tyar shacked up with the girl who would later take him to Korriban to become a Sith, as she was about to be sent there as a Sith Initiate as well. This gal was arguably also Tyar’s first kill as a Sith. He’s had various flings here and there, including Lady Grathan, Darth Lachris, Lord Zavrasha, Taunt, and Tivva, among others, presumably.

Jaesa was the first woman with whom Tyar felt something more than just raw physical attraction and stimulation. Not love, really, but something beyond what he’d ever felt before. There was a destructive aura about her, a power that made her presence intoxicating. I don’t think he can imagine anyone else besides her now.

Switching gears now, Gadran Sosa was a slave once, just like his son. The two never met, and in fact Gadran never even so much as learned that Eonur’s mother was pregnant with him. After Gadran’s relationship with Eonur’s mother was discovered, he was promptly beaten and sold off to keep them from getting any ideas of trying to escape together. Keep morale low and whatnot. He was a slave for many more years until, by way of a malfunctioning slave collar, Gadran discovered his Force-sensitivity at the party his then-master was holding. He promptly turned it into a bloodbath, only being subdued by a Sith Lord present after Gadran had killed his master and all of the other guests. Rather than let a good Force-user go to waste, the Sith Lord instead sent Gadran to Korriban, where he started his path as the Sith Inquisitor.

Daily Random Character Facts: Day 18

In the future Tyar has four children with Jaesa: two boys and two girls. One of his sons and one of his daughters both grow up to be Sith. His other son, despite starting out as a Sith as well, instead turns back to the light and becomes a Jedi. His other daughter, however, is born without Force sensitivity, and is abandoned by Jaesa on Tatooine without Tyar’s knowledge. Her Jedi brother later finds her and takes her away from the desert planet.

3 and 4 for Tyar and Jaesa

3. Well, to be honest, it’s a sort of primal love that they have for one another. They view going off to kill Jedi or anyone else that is a part of the Republic the same way normal people would consider going to the movies an ideal date. Bloodlust tends to lead to regular lust for them, so once they’re back on the ship they tend to go right to the bedroom for loud copulation, much to the ire and discomfort of everyone else aboard the ship. Especially Vette. Poor Vette.

4. A little bit. Jaesa, as she says in the actual romance, is eager to bear Tyar’s children, so they’ve discussed having said kids in the first place. They’ve also discussed how they’ll train their kids, but none of that soft stuff like names.

Names are for weaklings. :P

For the most part though they live in the moment.
