First concept of Anthony the Alarune. First appearance, Chapter 56 of She Came from Outer Space (AO3).
Based on the talking flowers from Disney's Alice in Wonderland. In the movie, they are shown as kind, motherly, and beautiful.
Further inspiration is from Ryo Sumiyoshi's MAD K, the character Datenshou. Dantenshou is a demon that runs a brothel. He is a plant-type demon that uses his scent to keep guests and workers at ease.
SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!! SPOILER ALERT!!
(I highly recommend reading MAD K! It's three volumes. The art is beautiful, the beastly designs are gorgeous... the themes are dark, there is some gore, and there is sexual content! The story and lore is good!)
Dantenshou doesn't have typical sex organs. As we now the flower petals and buds are the "sex organs", hence the anatomy of a rose on the top right.
SPOILER ENDS!!
Anthony head and "hair"/petals are sensitive sex organs. Don't touch Anthony's face or hair. Deep within the petals is the highly senstive filament and stigma. This produce pollen that bees collect and pollinate. Alarune reproduce asexually.

What's going on in there?
More studies of Anthony the Alarune. It's pretty fun re-learning basic science and how plants work.
