Family Reunion

Sarah answered the doorbell when Sebastian rang it, and she quietly led him and Rino into the living room. Tension was in the air, even though his parents didn’t know who it was yet. Breathing a deep breath, Sarah called out, “Mom! Dad!” and they impatiently waited.

His mom entered the room first, halfway through asking Sarah who was at the door when she saw Sebastian. She stopped, her eyes widening in disbelief before she rushed forward to embrace her son.

“Sebastian we missed you!” she cried out, breaking into tears as she held him.

He couldn’t seem to accept it at first, but after a moment, he sighed in relief and hugged her back. They were still hugging when he saw his father enter the room.

About a hundred emotions crossed the man’s face before he walked forward to join the embrace. Whatever he had to say could wait for now.

Sarah’s face broke into a smile and she squeezed Rino’s arm in joy as they watched on, waiting the moment out.

Dear Papa,

     I know it’s been years and you’ve gave me no pain in a direct sense but I still cannot forgive you. I needed you as a child and you were no where to be found. You simply looked the other way. Ignored what was happening right before your very eyes. And I’m going to be honest with you. I resent you for that. 

    I needed someone. Someone to support me. Someone to love me. But you simply went about your life. You found things more important than me to worry about. Your games, your shows. It all seemed to come before me.

     You always promised that you’d take me to the sea. No matter how many times it got postponed you always promised. You always said next time it would happen. And you know what the sad part is? I always believed you. You know what? I’ve been there now. I took myself there and you know? It was beautiful. And I wish you were there. I wish you were always there.

That was a lot of numbers... this was the first time he’s had his own communications device as ‘himself’, though he had memories from the kid he was before of owning one... so at least he knew how to use it. However, he didn’t really know this exact model, and ended up spamming a bunch of numbers on his contact list. 

Which of course, caused him to punch out an apology to each and every one of the people he accidentally dialed.

Winter was meant to be a time of snow and cold and similar days, where the weather was to be played in and the cold not so bad. Which is why Zefri was significantly annoyed at how he got caught out in the ice cold rain without an umbrella.
