[Inquisitorial Report: Subject - Head Archivist Orion Pax]
[Authorization Level: Prime]
[Listed Authorizations: Optimus Prime]
[Assigned Inquisitor: Jazz]
[Three deca-cycles into assignment]
═════════════════
Listen, OP.  We need to talk.  Is there any particular reason why I wasn’t briefed that there's a whole other inquisitor here? She does her job pretty well for the most part, didn’t notice her at all till she climbed out of the slaggin’ wall and started cleaning up the hab!!! I don’t know what’s going on in the new training methods that Smokescreen is running, but I am pretty fragging sure that the person you’re spying on is NOT supposed to know you exist. Megatron definitely knows she’s here. Seems like he’s fond of her. I saw him leaving out a slagging snack for her before he escorted Orion to the Archives! What the actual frag, my mech? WHY WASN’T I TOLD SHE WAS HERE?! Now that that’s out of the way: onto Orion. I can’t get my servos on his medical records, they’re sealed up tighter than a stripped screw on your oil pan, but he takes some medications every cycle, one is some kind of sedative, that he takes before recharge (probably to help with nightmares, if I am guessing correctly. He’s had two since I’ve been watching so far, and they seemed pretty severe), and the others are mainly used for field suppression and anxiety. His field is… I dunno how to describe it…. It’s messed up, OP. Something happened to him cuz his field is different than I remember. When he’s out in public, it’s like he doesn’t even have one. He was always a bit reserved in expressing himself, but now it’s like he doesn’t have a field at all. But when it’s just him and Megatron in their hab, sometimes Megatron encourages him to let his field out and… Primus, OP it’s like slamming into a wall at mach 2 how thick his field is. I’ve only felt it a couple of times, It’s overwhelming, so I tend to stay back from the vents as much as I can when he’s emitting, and rely on my cams and audio. I hope you don’t mind.
It doesn’t seem to bother Megatron at all, though. In fact, he seems to enjoy it. But he was always a little weird, so I’m not really shocked he’d find comfort in something that feels so… smothering? (That’s probably not the right glyph, but I’m going with it.) He dotes on Orion Pax even more than he did before the war, and I gotta admit that it's a little humorous to see Lord Megatron dutifully preparing fuel every morning like some kinda housewife on those old Earth sitcoms.
Anyway, Orion is well cared for. Megatron attends to him dutifully, and Orion happily returns that favor to his Conjunx. As strangely as they present on the outside, their relationship dynamic seems quite healthy, if not a bit codependent. They touch each other a lot more now than they did before the war. I haven’t seen them go through any form of serious disagreement, and the minor one they did have was discussed and rectified (Megatron was frustrated with Orion for not putting the lid back on the rust sticks.)
Orion is odd, and his habits reflect that. I’ve watched him pick up more rocks than I can count on his treks to and from the Archives, and chemical analysis shows they are just… rocks. Sometimes they are in strange shapes, but usually just… rocks. He is very fond of crystals, though as far as I know, he only has two he cares for personally; a small potted one he keeps in his hab, and another, more rare aquamarine cluster that he keeps in his office at the Archives. I’ve heard him singing to that one, a couple of times now. Seems it's very important to him.
He rarely brings his work home. Seems he tries to keep work and home life separate as much as he can, though he does discuss things from work with Megatron at length some cycles, especially if he has to deal with the Council in any fashion. If I can be blunt… Orion Pax is not fond of most of the Council, and when I say ‘not fond’ I really mean ‘he fragging hates them.’ Seems there's been issues with Council Members intentionally goading him into emotional responses.
On a typical work Cycle, Megatron comes online before Orion, and busies himself preparing their fuels. Orion usually comes online just before the fuels are ready, and Megatron sometimes brings it to him in berth. Sometimes Orion wanders out to the table and they refuel together there. Megatron helps him prepare for work. Once at work, Orion tends to finish his official duties relatively quickly. He spends at least two joor a cycle assisting and mentoring his apprentice, Red Alert. The two seem to get along well enough, but there’s some strain there I haven’t quite worked out yet. They both are anxious things around each other, but their working relationship seems warm and friendly. He spends his fuel break on comms with his Conjunx.  Afterwards, he spends most of his time, ah… poking around in data he’s probably not authorized to be poking around in. Mostly military records from the war and things in the Decepticon Archives. Before the end of his shift, he spends a joor or so helping the archivists tidy up and organize everything before he goes home.
If Megatron doesn’t pick him up from work and escort him home, he meets him at the door. Regardless, they spend a great amount of time being lovey-dovey with each other once the door closes, talking about how much they missed each other, which can last for quite some time if they kiss their way to berth… or the sofa… or a wall. Once they finish with that, they tend to relax together, usually wrapped up in each other in some fashion until one of them, usually Megatron, goes to prepare fuel.
After they fuel, they either retire to berth or settle to watch something on the holoscreen. Unexpectedly, Orion seems to prefer watching horror, suspense and thrillers. I expected him to be a ‘romcom’ sort of mech. Go figure.
Their berth-time habits are a bit much, honestly. Megatron almost always has some new poem to recite for Orion. Most of the time they’re about how much he loves Orion, how beautiful he finds him to be or ah… what he wants to do to him, if you catch my drift.  Sometimes they fool around for a while after that, but once they settle in berth, they’re always as close to each other as possible. Sometimes, Orion will read aloud while they are snuggled up together. He reads a very slowly, but that seems to help Megatron fall into recharge. Sometimes Megatron reads to Orion, though, there’s really no way to tell how it will end up.
On the cycles he’s off duty, both he and Megatron recharge later than normal. Orion seems to enjoy doting on Megatron on his off cycles, especially in the earlier joors. He’ll prepare fuel for the two of them to share in berth. Their behavior during this period of the cycle can only be described as playfully silly. After fueling, they flirt with each other in the strangest way I’ve ever seen. It starts with playful nudges and jabs and ends with them grabbing and tickling at each other until Orion inevitably ends up subdued, either beneath Megatron’s weight or by being trapped in an embrace. There’s plenty of laughter from both parties during the whole exchange.
After that, once they’ve cool off from their game, Orion leads Megatron to the washrack where they thoroughly groom each other. I honestly am not joking when I say those two can’t keep their servos off each other. They will find any excuse to touch each other. Anyway, after grooming they tend to break apart for a while.
Orion works on his pet project of translating what little Kaoni literature survived the war for a few joor, sometimes asking Megatron for assistance in his glyph usage. He takes his work very seriously, though I highly doubt the Council will allow his translations to be integrated into the Archives as he wants. Megatron usually interrupts him at some point, with pleas for attention or reminders not to work too hard, usually with a snack in servo.
Evenings depend on whether Orion has a social call or not. I didn’t actually realize he had any friends, considering his reputation, but it seems First Aid and his gardener, ‘Melody’ (who I am 99.9% sure is the SPY I WASN’T BRIEFED ABOUT on HER off cycles) are fond of him, and come over for energon and goodies on some of Orion’s off cycles. Sometimes they gossip and sometimes they discuss literature. Orion Pax has no clue that his gardener lives inside his walls…
When he doesn’t have guests, he spends his evenings engaging in his various hobbies. He’s very fond of the crystals in his garden and will sometimes help the gardener tend to them. (all things considered, it seems this gardener is his closest friend. I wonder if she feels as weird about spying on him as I do?) He also really enjoys calligraphy and often transcribes Megatron’s poetry in the most exquisite of glyphs. He was good at calligraphy before the war too, you know? Though he didn’t practice it as much back then. I’m glad to see he’s still getting joy from it. The crystal thing is new, though, I never saw him do anything like that before the war. When it’s time to refuel, they have a brief conversation that essentially boils down to whether or not they can bear to part from each other’s company, which decides if they order fuel for delivery or not.
It also seems like both he and Megatron enjoy the human inspired ‘jigsaw puzzle’ as well. Some evenings they work on one together while watching something on the holocreen or chatting. They have quite the collection, and always new ones seem to pop up. I think Megatron orders them as a surprise because Orion is always excited to see it. They only work on these together. (They work on these during the work cycle evenings as well, sorry OP I forgot to mention that. It’s just so common to see that it slipped right through my processor until I was specifically thinking about Orion’s hobbies.)
As for his general interests, I’d say his number one interest is his Conjunx, if I’m to be honest. Megatron is the single most important thing to Orion Pax. I haven’t even been here that long, and I can see that plainly. If something can be done with Megatron, he will do it with Megatron. He chooses Megatron over all of his other interests and hobbies EVERY TIME. He has joked with Megatron several times that it is to ‘make up for lost time.’ He knows more about Megatron than probably anyone else in the entire universe including Megatron himself. In fact, Megatron often has to encourage or remind Orion to pursue his other interests.
Other than that, he has a pretty wide range of things he’s interested in. He’s deeply invested in Kaon: the language and culture, as well as preserving what’s left of it. He has twice now brought up the topic of wishing to live in Kaon like they had originally planned to, before the war. Also, he enjoys crystals and their tending, calligraphy, poetry, holofilms, jigsaw puzzles, and politics (he has OPINIONS, let me TELL YOU). He spends a good deal of time reading about a variety of topics, such as history, mythology, poetry, romance, etymology, cyber-geology, crystals and their assorted sciences, mineralogy, medicine, politics, pro-Decepticon and Neutral works, graffiti and street art, erotica, memoirs, mystery, cyber-biology, and self-help.
He has some less prevalent, superficial interests as well. I’ve either heard him mention an interest in these topics or heard him give some factoid that only someone with some level of interest would know. I admit, some of these come from my pre-war history with him, (considering the ah…. Extremely wide scope you’ve given me, I think it’s relevant): theology, earth plants, drawing, hymns??? I dunno how else to describe it… Ancient songs, gladiator subculture, sparklings and their care, semiology, symbology, linguistics, justice, psychology, ethics, fuel preparation recipes, turbofoxes, warframe maintenance and first aid, archival sciences, relics, decryption, urban exploration, and dance.
That’s about all I got for ya OP. I wasn’t lying when i said he’s a pretty boring mech. He has a few quirks about his romantic life, but other than that, he’s kinda a nerd. Just like he was before the war. He’s just… more clingy and has medical problems now. As with the last one, I’ve enclosed a journal entry. Same as last time, I have no idea when he wrote this. Honestly, I just picked one at random.
═════════════════
I had an appointment with Ratchet this cycle that once again did not go very well. I truly am trying my hardest to understand what he wants from me. It seems no matter how I answer his questions, he is displeased by my words. I fear for him. His hatred of Megatronus and his disgust with me seem to be mixing with his grief for Optimus Prime, driving him mad.
Megatronus has repeatedly pleaded on my behalf for another doctor to take my case, but Ratchet insists that I am too volatile and dangerous to be seen by anyone else, which… honestly, may be true. I cannot always control myself, especially when I feel backed into a corner or feel Megatronus is being threatened. When I fear for his safety… I cannot control what I do anymore. I am so terrified of losing him that I can’t control myself.
Before the war, it was the opposite. Megatronus protected me from dangers, and I had little reason to believe I had the power to protect him from much of anything. He was so righteous and strong… almost like a deity in my optics. Though I never worshiped my champion in a traditional manner, I nonetheless found myself deeply devoted to him and his cause.
His touch has always been different from the touch of any other to me, even before I realized that I wished to belong to him. The first time he touched me was merely a servo upon my shoulder as he greeted me and welcomed me to Kaon. I cannot even recall what he spoke to me considering the nearly explosive reaction my spark had to that simple touch.
Of course, I had no frame of reference for what affection or love felt like, so all I really understood was that I liked it when he touched me. His touches were always patient and gentle, a stark opposite to whenever Alpha Trion would touch me, with little concern for my comfort and completely lacking in any sort of tenderness. I was accustomed to my comfort being disregarded by those around me, but Megatronus cared.
I think he must have sensed it, somehow; how repressed and unhappy I was. I had buried so much of myself in my attempts to please my Sire that I barely had any personality when we initially met. Yet he enjoyed my company regardless and urged me to pursue what I wanted, instead of what was expected of me. I had no way of knowing, in the beginning, that I would ultimately realize that he was what my spark wished for above all else.
There are so many moments I should have realized it… I can still recall how eagerly my spark pulsed with excitement and trust the first time he settled between my thighs… the way his field wrapped around me like a promise as he teased me to ecstasy with digits and glossa… I was so deeply in love with him, yet so oblivious of my own emotions. How foolish I was to not see it for what it was.
I am no fool, however. I know exactly who my lover was and is. I knew that he made a living via extinguishing sparks. I knew that he was known for his brutality in the arena. I witnessed more than enough of his gladiatorial matches to know the violence he was capable of. If I am honest… I think part of his allure is that violence, that he never has turned upon myself. To be loved so dearly by one who is known for their violence, to draw out the gentle in one that most see as a monster… to be touched so lovingly by servos still stained with the energon of his foes… I cannot even begin to describe how that feels.
I knew he would start a war the moment I came online strapped to that table in the tunnels. I could feel him trying to cover up his panic to soothe me as he tried to rescue me from my inevitable fate, and I know that he continues to view it as his greatest failure that he did not reach me in time. My champion started his war far sooner and with far more brutality than he wished to because THEY TOOK ME FROM HIM. He still dreams of that cycle I was taken… and how he felt my agony and terror.
Some cycles I ponder what would have happened if he had reached me in time. Would the war have continued if I had been allowed to stand at his side the way I wanted to? I do not know, but I do know that he never would have lost himself to madness. I know that Cybertron never would have been rendered uninhabitable. I know that our war would not have reached the stars had I been at my lover’s side.
We had promised each other eternity and were ripped apart after only a vorn. He grieved for me, and I felt every bit of his anguish. I was there when he spiraled into brutality. I was powerless as I felt his spark grow colder and colder as his rage took hold of him. Our separation was painful for Megatronus. Both physically and mentally. To have our bond severed so forcefully wounded his very spark. So very few seem to understand that ache as we do.
I begged to be allowed to comfort him.  I understand that many believe comfort is the last thing Megatronus deserves, but it would have stopped his rampages. If only he knew I still lived. He would have at least had hope. Instead, he saw a new Prime, wearing his deceased Conjunx’s frame and speaking in his voice like an unholy abomination. Optimus Prime spoke lies about willingly accepting the Matrix, of duty, and freedom, spoke as if he were me, when my love could see and feel so clearly that he was NOT. How could they not expect Megatronus’ wrath?
I know that many hold contempt for me for continuing to stand at his side, but how can they expect anything else? He was the ONLY ONE who saw through Optimus’ lies. He was the only one who fought to FREE me, though he was under the impression I was gone. He still wished for my frame to be laid to rest properly, not to be desecrated by the Council’s puppet Prime. He fought for me… How can they not understand that? He was the only one…
He and I have tasted each other's sparks in the most intimate and forbidden of ways. We have been a united being in both spark and frame. Megatronus did nothing during the war that I did not predict and try to stop. I could feel him spiraling deeper into madness the longer the war dragged on, and along with that, his moral standards fell away. I am not proud of the things my lover has done. There are many things I wish I could have stopped. There are memories of him that are terrifying, disgusting even, especially after he began his dark energon consumption. He forgot who he was, just as I had forgotten who I was before I knew him. There were so many times I thought I had lost him for good…
But then Unicron awoke, and I got the chance to live again. I saw that my Champion was still there, merely buried under millennia of grief and war. And he still loved me as deeply as I loved him. He feared that I would not love what he had become… but to me, he will always be my Champion, for I understand him as none other does, and he likewise is the only one who truly knows me. I know his spark as clearly as I know my own, and I cannot condemn him for his actions while spark-broken. He fought for me just as hard as I fought to get back to him, if not more so. His actions were simply much more visible, and affected far more than necessary.
I am told I am selfish for not allowing the citizens of Cybertron the execution they feel they deserve, but has not Megatronus already perished at the servos of my own sparkling for his crimes? Was he not tormented by the Unmaker before an act of divine intervention brought his spark back to life? Is he not still bearing the weight of his crimes by being restricted more than any other citizen of Cybertron? Megatronus has already been and is currently being punished for his crimes. He wears the frame to prove it.
I don’t care what they say about him, I know his spark. I know he speaks true when he says he wants nothing more than peace and freedom for all Cybertronians. I am proud to be his Conjunx, not ashamed, as so many insist that I should be. He is one choice I will never feel shame for and one I will never regret choosing. I promised him eternity, and I meant that.

[Inquisitorial Report: Subject - Megatron of Kaon]
[Authorization Level: Alpha (Elite Guard Selective)]
[Listed Authorizations: Head Elite Guardsman Smokescreen]
[Assigned Inquisitor: Hush]
[15 Vorns after Cybertron's Restoration - Six Stellar-cycles into assignment]
═════════════════
This is Hush reporting in... again. I guess I don't' need to be as formal anymore since its just you seeing my report Sir. I suppose I should start with what I have seen so far since I last reported in. I apologize again for my unsettling behavior unfitting of my station. I was rattled by the Steward's condition, but I am back in action and ready to serve!
Now regarding my report for this stellar cycle. Thus far absolutely nothing of interest has happened, at least by the standards of the parameters for potential corruption I was trained with. Megatron got a virus, a very minor one according to what his scans said, and Orion Pax promptly took a few days off work to care for him. Let it be said that Megatron is rather clingy when ill. He worked every cycle of his condition for what it was worth, gaining as much affection as possible from his Conjunx. His condition wasn't contagious or even enough to warrant a cycle off work, but Pax was insistent on tending to him. My Caretaker never took a cycle off for me when I was infected with virus's, nor did the guard care much. We have a duty... still it was nice to see Pax and Megatron being domestic without all the sap, well at least the normal amount.
Pax made Megatron some purified energon slices with unsaturated drizzle on top to help him fight off the virus, and by Primus, it looked delightful. Megatron had to be shooed out of the kitchen numerous times so that Pax could finish the meal, and quite honestly I do not blame Megatron for attempting to sneak a taste. Megatron did manage to sneak a small dip into the drizzle pot and snag a taste, even though it earned him a light prod from Pax in response. The face Megatron made had me even more curious and interested in the dish. I am not saying that merely as flattery, no it looked delectable from my cameras. When I snuck down to the kitchen after Pax and Megatron retired to their berth, I took a little taste from the pot he used and I was right. It was delicious.
The dish tasted nothing like the nutrient cubes given to us during training or the energon my Caretaker gave me during my development. It wasn't exactly like the fine dining the council members engage in, but it was... forgive the cliche, Megatron is wearing off on me... It was filled with love? I suppose that is the only way to describe it. The dish felt like it was made with the intent to soothe wounds. I took was little I could scrape out of the pot and shared it with Carnage. My feline seemed to like it as much as I did. Carnage has been a relief I must say. Without Carnage I would be far more bored in my hiding place. My feline is very patient and will sit on my lap for groons at a time, and I have even seen Carnage catching the micro-mice messing with the garden outside. I plan to try and begin tending to that garden now that the inside is reasonable.
But that is off topic. Don't worry, I cleaned the dishes. I saw no point in being too subtle. Somehow for all his observational capability, Pax has yet to notice my presence and assumes everything is Megatron. The former warlord doesn't seem at all guilty about taking MY work and claiming it as his own. However I am LIVING in his walls and messing with his things, so I can't really be upset. Besides, Pax always seems very happy when he notices the cleaning that I do. After what happend with the Steward... I don't mind him thinking it was Megatron who did the work. He needs happiness after all that. Yeah... after the Steward's next visit I think I will work on the garden for Pax, to try and give him somewhere nice to visit. I heard he likes crystal gardens.
I also looked up the recipe he used to make the energon and I am near certain it is Kaoni in origin. I couldn't find it in the Iaconian database and since the other city state databases are incomplete, I did a little digging and I can only conclude its Kaoni considering Pax's attachment to the culture. I believe I will try to learn the recipe when I have time, it was too good to NOT learn it. When I find a Conjunx of my own I fully intend to make them that dish. If Megatron liked it, that means it is worthy of being shared.
Right, back on track. Orion Pax took a few cycles off work as I said, and I believe I stated that Megatron was very clingy. Well he wasn't clingy in the normal sense really. He wasn't the whiny cling seen amongst sparklings, no it was more mature but just as ridiculous for one unused to Megatron and Orion's antics. Due to the virus, Megatron was extra lethargic so he cuddled with Pax for most of the cycle, using him as some sort of living stuffed turbo fox. It was arguably rather sweet, if a huge waste of time that could have been used for productive things. At some point Pax did slip away though to do some pick up and he DID IN FACT leave Megatron a stuffed turbo fox to cuddle instead. I didn't even know Orion HAD one. I thought I knew everything in this hab, but it seems he either just bought it or has been hiding it in his berthroom somewhere, since that is the only place I refuse to explore too deeply.
It was really quite... adorable? Maybe that's the wrong word, fascinating seems more apt. It was fascinating to watch Megatron hold the stuffed mech-animal for a while before grumbling and going to retrieve Pax to cuddle him again. I almost swiped the stuffed creature, but I did not. Pax would have noticed. However seeing it gave me inspiration so I've been collecting scraps recently to try and attempt some sewing of my own. I liked the little thing when Megatron held it, so I have been trying my best to replicate the stuffed toy. Carnage has helped in that regard. I have a few of my first attempts in here with me, they make good helm cushioning so now I don't need to recharge on totally hard vent floor paneling. I don't believe my first attempts have been very good... especially since one accidently got caught in my plating when I left the vents and fell by Megatron's berth. I forgot it was there so when he woke up he startled quite badly before slowly grumbling and putting my botched creation back in the vent for me.
He really does know I am here. Its not really a problem though so long as Pax remains unaware. I don't think he would take kindly to me, no matter how badly I want to tell him his datapad organization is an absolute plasma pool. Anyway, as I was saying before I got off track, Megatron was highly clingy. The only other notable thing about his illness was that he seemed to develop a momentary obsession with one particular channel on the holoscreen. It was some sort of documented case that went down not long ago. Apparently mecha have been trying to explore the tunnels and have all vanished for the most part. It was ridiculous, especially since the show depicted all the 'haunted' locations on Cybertron as if it weren't merely war time ruins. It was all a bunch of scrap and it seemed Megatron agreed with me. He spent some time laughing at and correcting the show even as 'experts' explained the spiritual significance and ghostly presences in areas.
It was interesting, but thankfully Megatron got better within a few cycles and Orion was back off the work. It was more dull without the entertainment, but there was much to clean after the whole incident. Megatron certainly didn't clean scrap while ill and Orion was rather occupied playing the role of living doll. My organization efforts were also upheaved with Orion doing the energon preparation. I have spent at least three deca-cycles just reorganizing the storage room and the living room. For whatever Primes forsaken reason, Megatron moved the rug while he was sick so now the wonderful artwork is CLASHING with the furniture. I think he wanted something soft beneath his pedes, but he RUINED the organization of the whole space! Once my sewing skills are less... debatable, I intend to sew up a proper rug and decorative set of pillows for the couch to make the room work again.
Apologies for the ramble Sir. Not much has really been going on. But, thank you for listening to me, and for... helping me deal with what I saw last report. I will get back to work and keep you updated. It would be nice if I could have some funds though to use for my own purposes. Its getting hard to sneak out all the time for supplies, especially since Carnage needs energon too.

[Note from Head Elite Guardsman Smokescreen:
Your report has brightened my cycle significantly, Hush. Keep up the good work and watch dutifully. Still be careful to not have Megatron spot you directly if you can. Its simply best he does not know too much about you even if he is aware you are there.
I will always be here to listen Hush. If you struggle with what you are are seeing, reach out to me and I will give you a replacement for a bit while you come back to yourself. No need to suffer without reason, and since you have done so well, I will grant your request for some funds. Take care of your feline and please be sure to not startle Orion Pax if you can. He is rather sensitive to guardsmen.]

[Inquisitorial Report: Subject - Megatron of Kaon]
[Authorization Level: Alpha (Elite Guard Selective)]
[Listed Authorizations: Head Elite Guardsman Smokescreen, Chaplain Paradox]
[Assigned Inquisitor: Hush]
[15 Vorns after Cybertron's Restoration - Five Stellar-cycles into assignment]
═════════════════
I hesitate to write this report due to what I have seen Brother Chaplain Paradox. I fear that speaking to Sister Chaplain Nightcase and Brother Chaplain Wreckwar may be required in light of these events...
The Lord Steward... he was not in his right mind. I was made aware of his imminent arrival and waited on the roof of Megatron's residence so that if need be, I could jump down and intervene. The Steward arrived on time, but he paused a ways off from the entrance and smoked from his cigar as if his life depended on it. He looked like he was burning himself with it too, jamming the burning end into his arm guards and wincing before continuing to smoke. Only once he burnt away at the cigar did he throw it into the nearest disposal shute, pull out a bottle of high grade, and take a hefty swig of it. He promptly tied the bottle to his waist in a wartime energon canister and THEN knocked on the door.
He looked dead inside quite frankly. The Steward's field was kept close but I could sense it as it flared periodically. He was angry, distressed, exhausted, and grieving. He was hurting so much Brother Chaplain. I know Chaplain Wreckwar and Nightcase are handling the Templar and the Inquisitors, but they need to know. Something needs to be done to held the Steward. What I saw... it haunts me, it hurts my very spark to see. He's fallen, he's aching, and he is so very cruel in ways I had no idea were even conceivable for him.
He pushed past Megatron with a snarl and entered the living room gruffly. His plating was flared and he looked anything but professional as he laid out his tools and grabbed Orion's arm to swiftly jab a needle in. Archivist Pax gave no consent, nor did he have time to react before the Steward ripped the needle out, grumbled something, and moved on. Megatron came to sit beside Orion on the couch but I wasn't able to see much else until I got back into my internal hiding place. But once I got there, I saw enough to write this report and BEG to be recalled.
The Steward was harsh as he took scans, pocked and prodded, moved around Orion's plating in ways that had to be uncomfortable to the point of bordering on hurt, and overall being a horrible medic according to the books. It was painful to watch the blatant disregard for Orion's personal space, his preferences, and even his Conjunx. Megatron wasn't given a word in unless he practically forced it by keeping the Steward from acting. The tension in the room was so thick I could have sworn it would kill an average mech. But that wasn't the worst part. No no no, is was the mental exam that showed me just how desperately our Lord Steward needs help.
It was horrible to watch. The Steward asked all sorts of pointed questions and left no room for maneuverability. He didn't care for Orion's comfort at all and merely took a swig of his high grade whenever something seemed to make him upset. The questions were things such as "What was it exactly that made being within the Matrix most unbearable?", "Why did you decide to make your opinion known through pain responses?", and "Do you feel any guilt at all?". Even by the standards of the guard, that's too much. Orion has only JUST begun to recover, I would know, I can see how much he screams from nightmares. It was torture to observe as Orion cringed but answered honestly. Megatron quite frankly looked ready to punt the Steward through a wall and... I can't blame him. The Steward was cruel in his word usage and glared with the hatred of a thousand stars whenever Orion answered honestly.
Brother.... Brother please, I can't stay here. Orion spoke so deeply on everything. He... He hurt our Prime, but he couldn't be heard, it was the only way he knew how to speak. Our Prime either didn't listen or didn't know and so suffered as Orion fought to be free and to protect his Conjunx. Is that not understandable? Why do we hate him so much? He wanted to be free! He wanted to protect what he loved! Is that not what we do every single cycle? I don't know what to think Brother. I want to leave I can't....
The Steward's field hurt and what really frightened me... he... he tried to KILL Orion Pax. When Orion spoke on his views of Optimus Prime and how he saw our Lord as a jailer and a parasite, the Steward tried to stab him before Megatron caught him. The Steward screamed and flailed like a madmech! He tried to fight as if he were on the battlefield and in the end he was nearly choked out before he fell to the ground. He collected his things after spitting enough cruel and horrendous things to make me blanch. He grabbed his bag and stormed out leaving Orion to bite back tears and Megatron to try and comfort him. I have never seen a mech look so vengeful Brother. The Steward genuinely looked insane with how his optics cycled erratically and flashed.
It was WRONG. I want to come home. Please Brother, bring me home. I need my kin, I need the safety of the guard and to pray to our Prime and Creator. I can't take this.

[Inquisitorial Report: Subject - Head Archivist: Orion Pax]
[Authorization Level: Prime]
[Listed Authorizations: Optimus Prime]
[Assigned Inquisitor: Jazz]
[One deca-cycle into assignment]
═════════════════
I gotta say, OP, compared to my last gig, this job is practically a vacation. I’m not entirely sure what you’re wanting me to be looking for, though. I haven’t seen any indicators that suggest Orion OR Megatron are doing anything worth writing about. Even their normal routine is mundane and domestic. They seem happy together, like a regular conjunxed pair, if a bit touchier than the average couple.
Orion seems to like calligraphy and rocks.  He has a small collection of brushes and pigments he uses when he works, but I admit, I have only witnessed him scribing twice in the small amount of time I’ve been watching. He brings a new rock home every few cycles or so, though.
You wouldn’t think it, because the Archives are so slagging pristine, but Orion seems to lose that ability once his pedes step through the door. I wouldn’t go as far as to suggest he’s a slob or anything, but it seems Megatron is the one who keeps the hab in order. He does most of the fuel preparation as well if this deca-cycle is standard.
The single most noteworthy thing is Orion and Megatron’s rather large collection of illegal literature; mostly pre-war Decepticon propaganda and literature, which, honestly, doesn’t strike me as especially surprising considering it's MEGATRON and ORION PAX living together in this hab. They also have several different volumes of a banned pre-war Kaoni poetry anthologies that specialize in ah… you know? The kinky kind of words. If that’s something you’re concerned about, I can look further into it and catalog their collection.
There really isn’t much else to say, OP. Orion Pax is unnoteworthy, and Megatron seems pacified for now. I gotta say, though, it feels a little weird. Shouldn’t this be handled by someone who doesn’t have a conflict of interest? Orion was my best friend before the war, you know? Anyway, I wasn’t sure what else to give you in this report, so I attached an entry from Pax’s journal. I have no clue when he wrote this. His entries aren’t dated, and they are just as disorganized as everything else in this hab.
═════════════════
There still has been no word on the whereabouts of my sire, and this knowledge has been a heavy conflict in my processor as of late. It is as if he simply disappeared. His remains were not found in the ruins of the Archives before they were rebuilt, and there have been exactly zero sightings of any mechs matching his description since the re-founding of our planet. He simply has vanished; along with that Primus forsaken Covenant of his.
I had hoped that it would have remained within the ruins, perhaps even been secured in the vaults, or the recesses of his office somewhere. But it, too, seems to have been lost. I hoped it would have answers for me. I simply wish to understand why.
Alpha Trion was rarely ever kind or loving towards me. Warmth was not in his nature, I suppose. As I reminisce upon my upbringing now, it is clear to me that while I saw him as my Sire, he did not view me as a Sire would his sparkling. He was always pushing me towards something that he never would clearly explain. I once thought that he was training me to be his replacement, so that he may retire and live out the rest of his days without the strains of his duties; but I know now that that was merely his cover story.
I was never meant to be the Head Archivist at all. I was only to be molded into some… encasement so that Optimus could be born. I don’t… fully understand all of the details as of yet. I am still trying to work out why. Why did it have to be me? Wouldn’t it have been better to ask this of a mech who wanted it? Why choose someone who was consistently resistant towards notions of the Matrix and the Primacy?  Why was Optimus so slagging important to begin with that his creation needed to happen when it did? Why did my SIRE order my capture, for what he had to have known would bring about my imprisonment?
I fear I will never have the answer to these and many other questions that have plagued my processor since I finally became able to think rationally. I miss my Sire…. Even though I have doubts that he ever missed me once I was gone.  I still long for his approval, even though I know that I ultimately failed in the only task he truly wished for me to fulfil. I want him to love me the way I needed him to when I was a sparkling, even though I do not think he is capable of emotions at all.
And yet I am fearful of him. I think I would rather have confirmation of his death than to not know if he is a threat, looming in the distance. I know I have caused him some level of shame in how I treated the Prime he forced into my care. I know I must have embarrassed him that cycle in the Council Chambers. I was not supposed to refuse the Matrix. I know I was not supposed to fall in love and beautifully defile myself in the embraces of a gladiator. I was supposed to be his perfect sacrifice, and I arrived tainted and unwilling.
I know that he never liked nor approved of my relationship with Megatronus. I cannot imagine his stance on that will have changed, if he still walks amongst us.  His influence has always been extraordinarily grand. Smokescreen looks up to him. It would take next to nothing for him to convince the Guard to ignore the Optimus’ final wishes and…. I can’t even force myself to write the glyphs necessary…
Alpha Trion could ruin everything. He could take my job… my Conjunx. He could undo what little good I have been able to achieve in expanding access to records to the public. He would be a powerful voice for functionalism that just may be exactly the last push needed to turn our political mess into the same disaster it was pre-war. Him and that…. Primus forsaken Covenant of his ruined my life… So why do I miss him?
As I sit here in my berth with my Champion in recharge beside me, I am reminded of what love is supposed to feel like. It is not distant and cruel. It does not… force another into something they are not. I had no choice in anything my entire life. I did everything I was supposed to do for millennia. It was never enough to earn his love or his attention.
I do not understand how anyone can blame me for choosing Megatronus over everything Alpha Trion wanted me to become. Megatronus showed me love. He showed me warmth, and touch and affections, even before our relationship became romantic… he was always warm and encouraging. He made me wish to truly live and not merely float through life in a desperate attempt to gain the affections of my Sire.
Megatronus reminded me that I am allowed to be a person, that I am allowed to want things for myself, that I was more than what I was allowed to be. I gave up so much of myself for Alpha Trion that I forgot who I even was. I am almost as afraid of going back to that mode of existence as I am of being trapped once more.
I do not regret choosing Megatronus. I will stand firm in my choice until my spark extinguishes. Megatronus saved me, and I am uncertain if he even realizes it. He showed me what it means to love someone and be loved in return. The love I share with Megatronus is nothing like that with Alpha Trion, but I was given a perspective of love that taught me what it is and what it is not. Megatronus and I love one another unconditionally and affection is given freely when desired, it is not hoarded to be used as a special treat when one behaves. Even though I miss him terribly, I pray that he is never found. It pains me to wish that he is offline for good, but I am certain that he would do all he could to punish me for going against his desires, harming his precious brother and for embarrassing him in the Senate that cycle. I know that his approval is impossible, so it is best, for me, at least, that wherever he is; he stays buried.

[Assigned Inquisitor: Hush]
[15 Vorns after Cybertron's Restoration - Seven Deca-cycles into assignment]
═════════════════
The Templar will not be needed. My assessment was... incorrect.
It had been my assumption based upon my observations that Megatron was attempting to prepare a weapon or other item of deadly force. However on the fourth cycle of this deca-cycle, Megatron of Kaon deviated from schedule and took the items he had been gathering out of his residence. I followed and was fully prepared to give my life to buy time if it was required. However as I tailed him, I find he was not heading to any point of potential interest if he was planning some attack or terrorist activity.
My second assumption was that he was perhaps preparing to deal in arms or even start attempting to recruit for a new movement with whatever it was he built. Thus I continued to remain vigilant even when he left the city and I was forced to rely more heavily on my stealth training. It is at such times I am grateful for my size and my lack of warbuild armor. With that said, I continued to tail him as he travelled to the rust mountains. It was a challenge to track him once he took to the air, but I kept pace on the ground as much as I could.
Eventually he arrived at the mountains, and again I was under the assumption that he was attempting to do some dark deal with a contractor. But to my dismay, he did nothing of the sort and instead laid out the organic cloth he ordered previously and then set up those wax constructs around it. Then he placed the strange device he was working on in the middle of the cloth and placed a container with all the energon he bought beside it. I had no clue what he was attempting to do until he opened a channel with Orion Pax and called him to let him know he was going to pick him up.
I believe I may need to return to my training sometime soon due to the fact that I struggled to keep pace as Megatron took to the air to get back to Iacon. I was left near overheating when I finally got back into the city and could follow Megatron without having to run everywhere. With that in mind, in a few deca-cycles I would like to request temporary leave to return to training with my brothers and sisters in arms.
Now, back on topic. I followed Megatron all the way to the archives where he retrieved Orion Pax and began walking with him back toward the rust mountains. They walked leisurely and thankfully for me, that meant I didn't need to rush as much. Anyway, Megatron took Orion Pax out of the city and both took to their alt-modes to get to the location Megatron prepared earlier. There was quite a bit of affection given as Megatron led Orion to the place he set his items up. Lots of... intimate interaction that most would never be caught dead engaging in, especially in such an open location.
Orion Pax and Megatron proceeded to have what looked to be a rather pleasant romantic meal together under the fading light of the nearest star. They lit the wax constructs on fire and danced around on their cloth tarp. It was all very romantic if I am quite honest, although it was rather over the top considering the amount of effort that went into the situation. They proceeded to turn on the device Megatron put together, and what I thought was a weapon ended up being a holoprojector that showed the local constellations in greater detail than what can be perceived by the optic from the surface.
They spent around a Groon out there and then packed up and went home laughing and waxing poetics.
I spent three whole deca-cycles preparing to give my life for the defense of our world only to find out it was a fragging DATE that was causing Megatron to act so suspiciously. Its ridiculous. I refuse to believe that he isn't up to something. Four million years of war, countless articles and blasphemous works. There is simply no way he doesn't have something brewing in that mind of his.
I will keep watch, but Primus, this is going to drive me mad if he keeps doing things like this. I wonder if he knows I am here... it would explain why he waxes his poetics out loud over and over again. I think I have almost all of them memorized now...

You did excellent work remaining vigilant Hush. Keep up the good work Inquisitor. You are correct in your assessment that Megatron quite likely has more planned. This is why you must continue to watch dutifully.

[Inquisitorial Report: Subject - Megatron of Kaon]
[Authorization Level: Alpha (Elite Guard Selective)]
[Listed Authorizations: Head Elite Guardsman Smokescreen, Chaplain Paradox]
[Assigned Inquisitor: Hush]
[15 Vorns after Cybertron's Restoration - Six Deca-cycles into assignment]
[Report covers data collected through Deca-cycles two through six]
═════════════════
[Deca-cycle two overview report]
I have watched Megatron dutifully and found nothing of note so far. His schedule has thus far not varied in any significant manner. He does exactly the same things as listed in my previous report with only the slight variability involved in any daily affair. Quite frankly I am suspicious. He is one of the most dangerous mecha on Cybertron, I am hesitant to believe that he actually is content to remain as a simple domestic Conjunx.
All that changed in his routine was the simple instance of him breaking a glass by accident during a rather... heated personal engagement with Archivist Orion Pax. It was cleaned up rather quickly and I saw nothing of importance that could denote possible criminal behavior. However I will remain vigilant. The records show that Megatron has been known to remain in semi-docile states of extended periods of time to get what he wants. I would not put it past him now that our Prime, 𝔪𝔞𝔶 𝔥𝔢 𝔯𝔢𝔰𝔱 𝔦𝔫 𝔭𝔢𝔞𝔠𝔢, is no longer with us.
[Deca-cycle three overview report]
Again, nothing of much note has occurred regarding Megatron routine wise. However Archivist Orion Pax had an episode exactly three cycles ago a half groon after the light of Luna 1 faded. He awoke screaming and in a panic, likely due to a nightmare if prior reports are any indicator. He thrashed and clawed for a while before falling still. Megatron took him to the wash racks and I moved locations to observe as Megatron proceeded to wipe Orion Pax down and sing to him softly until he passed out again.
Orion Pax did not go into work that cycle and Megatron called the Lord Steward Ratchet to ask about possible additional medication. His tone and glyph usage were outrageous and worthy of being charged if he were in public, but unfortunately due to his position, he is practically untouchable. I could hear the Lord Steward speaking quite angerly over the line, and I do not begrudge him that. The tone and disrespect were more than enough to warrant it. 𝔅𝔩𝔞𝔰𝔭𝔥𝔢𝔪𝔢𝔯𝔰 𝔞𝔤𝔞𝔦𝔫𝔰𝔱 𝔬𝔲𝔯 𝔓𝔯𝔦𝔪𝔢 𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔢𝔯𝔳𝔢 𝔱𝔬 𝔰𝔲𝔣𝔣𝔢𝔯.
Orion Pax was tended to dutifully by Megatron and remained largely on berth rest as he was nursed back to health. The young apprentice to the Lord Steward came around mid cycle and brought a package of sedatives [Type 2389DS: Chemical Composition 2RHO]. First Aid proceeded to stay for around a Joor and made tea for Orion Pax which he then helped the Head Archivist consume under the ever present observation of Megatron. First Aid had basic conversation with Megatron and managed to get a smile out of Orion Pax as he talked about anything and everything. It was honestly a relief to listen to something aside from Megatron's usual rehearsing of poetry and Orion Pax's flowery language.
Upon First Aid's departure, everything returned to normal and the next cycle Orion Pax was back to work without issue. Megatron then continued with his regular routine and recited his latest work of poetry out loud 234 times before he was satisfied with its composition and proceeded to recite his secondary work 129 times until that too reached his standards. The contents of the poetry were nothing noteworthy and, as always, were largely focused around Orion Pax.
[Deca-cycle four overview report]
Megatron did near nothing of note once again. Orion Pax had no fits but Megatron did end up making a singular trip to the nearest energon supplier to collect groceries for the coming deca-cycle. His selection was slightly unusual compared to his usual choices. I did a careful check of what Megatron normally consumes and what energon he tends to prefer. It was not hard to sneak out of my hideout in the middle of Megatron and Orion Pax's recharge cycles to analyze their storage. With that said, Megatron already has quite the store of energon in the pantry, he should have had no reason to go to the supplier.
However he went anyway, and not only did he go, he also selected a strange set of items. He bought a series of high quality cubes of energon, two bottles of high grade, a pack of rust sticks, a small container of jellied energon, and a can of energon gummies. He then proceeded to bring those items back to his residence and hide them in the back of his pantry without telling Orion Pax.
It is suspicious, but it could be for some ulterior motive that is not malicious in nature. I will continue to observe.
[Deca-cycle five overview report]
Something is going on. Megatron's routine has remained constant save for two things. He has spent the last deca-cycle dutifully searching online for specific components for a machine. I do not know what he is devising, but it is concerning. He has already placed orders for gears and small parts to be delivered to his residence, but beyond that, he had made outings to collect other missing pieces from his device.
He wandered down a very shady part of the lower levels to meet with a dealer. I was unable to get close enough to see in any amount of detail, but I was able to watch an exchange of material for Shanix. It looked to be some kind of crystal, but I am unsure. Whatever it was, Megatron met with several other dealers over the course of a few cycles and returned to his residence with his prize in tow. He hid the items from my view and took the mechanical components he ordered into a small corner of his room where I have been unable to wire up my systems due to interference from the nearby residences datanet cabling.
Even during Megatron's recharge cycles I was unable to see what he war working on due to the simple fact that he hid his work within a small safe. This would usually not be an issue, I have been well trained in such things after all. However the safe was linked up to Megatron via datanet alerts, meaning that even if I break into it and see what is there without damaging the safe, there will still be an alert to wake him. I cannot be seen, he cannot know I am here.
I don't know what he is planning, I can't pinpoint it, but I WILL find out.
[Deca-cycle six overview report]
Its happening soon! Whatever it is Megatron has been planning and working towards, it will happen within the next deca-cycle, I am sure of it! He has cleared his schedule, begun ordering lighters, organic material called 'wax', and even an organic cloth that seems to be like a thermal sheet. I predict he is planning to commit arson in some way or form. I don't know where or why, but I am ready to strike the moment he shows his colors.
His strange device also seems to be finished. I could not observe its construction, but completed it seems to be mostly dome shaped and had a great many holes within its dome lid. The device now sits within the safe late into recharge cycles so I am kept from picking it apart to see its design. I don't know what it does, but things are looking potentially dangerous. Orion Pax is totally unaware of whatever is going on and has so far not noticed Megatron's behavior.
Megatron is planning something big, something influential that will make a statement. It will happen soon and I WILL be there to witness it and put a stop to it before it can grow to be a real danger. I would humbly request backup be made available throughout the next deca-cycle so that in the event I perish before I can stop his plans from coming to pass, someone can take my place and end the threat that is Megatron before its too late.
We cannot fail. Our Prime gave us this holy mission, it is our duty, our solemn task. I will no fall until my duty is done, and if I can, even in death I will serve. All for his glory.

[Inquisitorial Report: Subject - Head Archivist Orion Pax]
[Authorization Level: Prime]
[Listed Authorizations: Optimus Prime]
[Assigned Inquisitor: Jazz]
[Seven deca-cycles into assignment]
Hooooooooooooooboy. Things certainly took a turn for the messed up after your return was announced. Orion Pax is NOT OKAY. He hasn't left his hab since the announcements went out on the news, and has spent each cycle working himself up into a near frenzy with paranoia and fear. Of YOU, Optimus. He’s scared of you.
He hasn't been to the Archives in many cycles, and has mostly been spending his time in berth, shaking like a slagging leaf in the wind. He's started having nightmares nearly every recharge cycle, most are severe in their presentation. Megatron even is struggling with the lack of proper recharge due to Orion’s disruptions. Several times in a recharge cycle he wakes Megatron either by screaming, thrashing or releasing some extreme field manipulations. It sometimes takes a joor or longer to calm him back down enough to attempt to recharge again.
He's also been having a difficult time keeping his field under control. Apparently this is why he has chosen to self-isolate in their hab. I heard him and Megatron discussing it this morning. Orion indicated that he feared he would unintentionally harm others if he were to leave. Judging by how ah….. Oppressive his positive emotions feel when he’s at home, I can only imagine how bad his negative ones must feel.
Megatron then contacted Ratchet to request some medications and an extension of medical leave. Sounds like the two argued a little, I'm not sure, but Megatron was angry enough for Orion to politely suggest he calm down.
Regardless, Orion Pax is terrified of you. I'm… trying not to take what Orion says to spark. I'm not going to lie to you, Optimus. I always had a hunch that you weren't… him. I don't know all the details of how you came to be and I don't blame you for your creation but its… It's hard to stay neutral after hearing the mech who was my best friend speak about how afraid he is. Of you.
Primus, Optimus… In his nightmares, you come to trap him and to kill Megatron. He’s petrified of you coming after Megatron. He sometimes rambles for joors about you fulfilling your duty and coming for them. I’m not… entirely sure what he means by being trapped. I can’t even pretend to fully understand the situation between you two during the war, but it sounds like it was a truly torturous experience for him, by how much he fears returning to that state.
I tried again to crack into his medical records to see if I could find any more answers on his thoughts regarding his time with you, but yeah, It was a no-go. Orion’s records are LOCKED DOWN. It's honestly… a little weird. Medical files aren’t usually secured so tightly. Maybe this is something to ask Ratchet about??
Anyway, he was working when the news of your return came through to him. I happened to be at just the right angle to see exactly what happened: Orion was at his work station assisting his archivists in processing data from the current news cycle when your announcement hit. As soon as he processed your voice he froze solid, and his optics cycled in a weird way, like he was in a dark room. He started to shake uncontrollably, so much so that I could hear his plating rattling even from where I was hiding.
One of the other archivists came up behind him and placed their servo on his shoulder, and that sent Orion into a frenzy. He tried to run, but he didn't seem to know where he was. He crashed into a wall and clawed at it like a mechanimal. I don’t think he was processing visual signals correctly. It was a mess; datapads everywhere, work stations overturned, broken shelving units... The archivists all scattered, one of them thought to comm Megatron. By the time he arrived, Orion had been locked in his work station for everyone's safety, and was on the floor in a near catatonic state. He didn't even address Megatron when he came in, nor did he seem to notice Megatron when he gathered him into his arms to soothe him. Megatron stayed with Orion in the Archives until it closed down for the cycle, singing to him and telling him that he was safe. Once all the other archivists had gone home, then he brought Orion out and carried him back to their hab. He couldn't get Orion to talk to him until the next morning, though.
Listen Optimus. I really don’t understand the deal between you two. I wasn’t there all the time. I have no idea how bad things were for each of you, but I do know that I have never seen Orion react to anything that way. I have never seen him that afraid. And it lingered, OP. He has been in a constant state of fear since that cycle, even with Megatron at his side. He jumps at every sound he hears, even when he’s in recharge. He seems to think that you and the guard are an imminent threat.
I’m not entirely sure what your intentions are with Orion, but my suggestion is that you do not attempt to approach him until his fears have been pacified, unless you wanna get bit. As usual, here's a journal entry.
_______
I am absolutely devastated. I am unsure if I can even properly describe all the emotions tumbling in my spark at the news I received this cycle. Megatronus and I were so diligent in filing all the appropriate forms to ensure I got the time off we needed for our trip to Kaon. All the slagging hoops they made us jump through…
I should have expected this. Every single step was nothing but spark wrenching setback after setback. It wasn’t enough for us to prove our bond personally, we had to fill out forms and documents that end up not accepting our cultural rites and refusing to acknowledge a bond forged in secrecy for fear of persecution.
Our bond was forged before these fragging forms were even written!! He and I were united in spark and frame millennia before most of those glitches were even forged! Why do they have so much power over which rites are deemed acceptable and which are not? They do not even have an appropriate option for the cultural rites of Vos!!
I was appalled when they tried to offer me forms to have an Iaconian rite performed for us. Our rites are SACRED. They cannot simply be overwritten by the new Iaconian standards and I know I was probably more emotional than required when I expressed my disgust at the notion. But I was then reassured that if I only wrote a letter to the board of registrations explaining our situation and reasons for refusing a new rite, that we would be able to register our bond this way. Another setback, as that was refused with no reasons given, although I suspect the reasoning was simply seeing “Megatron of Kaon” as one of the parties involved. Filing or registering anything with his designation attached is difficult.
After that I spoke with upper archival staff to see what I should do, and they suggested reaching out to Senator Blueflow personally, as he is the one who approves connubial leave requests. I had, thus far, known Blueflow to be a somewhat reasonable mech, so I was hopeful that that would be fruitful. But he merely directed me to the file the connubial request forms even though I had already explained to him that Megatronus and I were currently unregistered.
Rejected. Another letter sent. This time with many archivists writing testimonials affirming that our bond is obvious, active and healthy. Only to be rejected again. I do not qualify as our bond, despite being millennia strong, does not meet the requirements. I should have expected it. I should have known. But it hurts.
I have worked so hard… I never took a cycle off. I came in when I was not required when asked. I performed beyond my designated shifts in the hopes that this one request would be granted; so that Megatronus and I may go home and reforge our rites in the very place we forged them originally. It is sacred to us… Why can’t they understand that?? Why do they not see the obvious pain in my spark at being denied the right to properly reforge an old and yearning bond?
It’s not fair. I understand that they hate him, but why is that enough to deny us the same benefits and rights that all the others are entitled to?

[Inquisitorial Report: Subject - Megatron of Kaon]
[Authorization Level: Alpha (Elite Guard Selective)]
[Listed Authorizations: Head Elite Guardsman Smokescreen, Chaplain Paradox]
[Assigned Inquisitor: Hush]
[15 Vorns after Cybertron's Restoration - Four Stellar-cycles into assignment]
═════════════════
I know I was told to remain out of sight, but I messed up. I messed up big time Brother Chaplain. I am SO sorry. I didn't mean to, but... let me just explain what happened.
I have been having trouble remaining focused without much to do. Megatron has simply been so docile as to be unworthy of more than a cursory glance at best. Thus there has been very little for me to observe and therefore record, hence the lack of detailed, long, or very professional reports. Apologies Brother Chaplain... I swear its not because I am allowing my grip to slip, there just isn't much to note and warrant being reported.
I... I suppose I should start by simply saying that I was antsy. Carnage was out on a hunt and I had no idea where the feline went, so it was just me, all alone in my post without anything to do because Megatron and Orion were in recharge. Normally if I were being professional I would review footage and run through commlink channel uses from the waking cycles. And if I felt the need to get out some energy, I would generally clamber out of my hiding place and either clean or go out to observe the neighbor, you know, the engraver? I am near certain the mech is engaged in actual illegal activity, so in my downtime I have been attempting to work out what he is up to. But that is beside the point, I was out of sorts last cycle.
The neighbor was gone that recharge cycle and so was Carnage. I cleaned the previous recharge cycle and organized the entire hab as best as I could without being too obvious. There was only one thing that remained, one singular issue that was ever present at the back of my mind, and that was the groceries.
Megatron went out to buy groceries earlier in the cycle since his stores were running low and came back with quite the haul. However instead of organizing and putting things away, he left them on the counter and tossed everything else in the cabinet or the storage room without much care. I am well aware this shouldn't bother me as much as it does, but fragging pits, there is NOTHING else to occupy my mind and so those slagging groceries have been haunting me ever since Megatron and Orion retired to their berth. It was an ever present reminder of something out of place, a fact I couldn't tolerate. During training it was beat into my helm that a guardsman and any space they occupy must be orderly for the sake of our Prime and maintaining his image. I know it doesn't apply as harshly while an Inquisitor is deployed, but I couldn't help it!
I clambered out of my post long after I was sure both Megatron and Orion were recharging and I made my way into the energon preparation area where the groceries were STILL laying about haphazardly. I immediately began putting things back where they were SUPPOSED to go. Even now I am astounded at the fact that Megatron lays his high grade down sideways in the cupboard like some sort of savage. I am well aware he came from the pits, but Primus, this is HIGH GRADE! Its expensive and he's laying it in the cupboard with no regard for pricing, quality, or even producer! A travesty I tell you. A travesty!
Right, back on topic. I was moving things around very quietly mind you and had about six containers of energon in my arms when all the sudden, the light turned on. I obviously turned around, but I am ashamed to admit I froze up quite horribly as soon as I saw who was in the doorway. Thankfully it wasn't Orion Pax, as if it were him, I am unsure what I would say or do. He would have made quite the fuss, so while I am rather pleased it was not him who met my terrified gaze, I was still not very happy to find Megatron of Kaon staring me down.
I couldn't move Brother Chaplain. I couldn't move. He would have killed me, that is what my spark told me. The way he was staring at me... I could have sworn he saw me as prey. He just kept watching me for a long moment and I didn't so much as twitch. Then he smirked, he SMIRKED and turned off the light again. I thought he was going to attack, so I threw everything into the cupboard and tossed myself back into the entrance to my post and slammed the false wall behind me.
He SAW me Brother Chaplain. I was certain he was going to hunt me down and shred me, or maybe even tear out my voice as he did with Earth Ambassador Bumblebee, but he did none of that. I waited in fear, clutching my blades and waiting for the inevitable for the remainder of the recharge cycle until at last I heard both Megatron and Orion moving around again. I refused to leave my post for the entirety of that cycle, not even to collect rations. I was too frightened, and I know that was wrong. A guardsman can't be afraid, not when we are in the service of our Prime... I think I should return to additional training soon. I don't know... this... I failed Brother Chaplain.
I am so sorry. Primus forgive me and his Angel give me his grace. I failed in my sworn duty. I should have done better.

[Note from Chaplain Paradox:
You did indeed fail Hush, but this can be rectified. Continue serving for a while longer and then we will discuss pulling you back for a few deca-cycles for additional training. The Lord Steward will be paying Archivist Orion Pax a visit for medical purposes within the next deca-cycle, and so for his own safety, you must remain until then. The Lord Steward MUST be protected at all costs, as was the will of our Prime.
Do your duty well and let this failure be washed away in success. You will be pulled back for a time after you complete this task. Keep the faith child. Endure a while longer.]

[Inquisitorial Report: Subject - Megatron of Kaon]
[Authorization Level: Alpha (Elite Guard Selective)]
[Listed Authorizations: Head Elite Guardsman Smokescreen, Chaplain Paradox]
[Assigned Inquisitor: Hush]
[15 Vorns after Cybertron's Restoration - Three Stellar-cycles into assignment]
═════════════════
I hate this place so much. Not only has Megatron continually remained docile without so much as a hint of illegal activity aside from the odd air traffic ticket, but his hab is the worst. I do not mean to say that it is unclean, no, it is far from it. But whatever organizational skills Megatron of Kaon and Head Archivist Orion Pax possessed have quite likely died in this place. Their methods of keeping their residence are confusing at best and convoluted at worst. I despise it with a passion. Brother Chaplain, you would have never stood for this mess.
I don't know how in Primus's name Orion can leave his scrap in so many places and not care. Megatron certainly doesn't give a flying frag about it. Orion will leave things around and he won't touch it, even if its riGhT uNdEr PEde. Fragging glitch. I watched Orion leave the holoscreen remote under the left couch cushion and not a spark fetched the thing for a whole deca-cycle. It ended up being Megatron who lifted the cushion and fetched the remote after Orion quite firmly refused to get it himself by simply avoiding doing so. Orion told Megatron where the remote was and then sat down while the former leader of the Decepticons dug under to cushion for a while until he found it.
Absolute ridiculousness. I hate this fragging hab. Orion left his work bag under the energon purifier and left it there throughout the entirety of his break. There is so much dust under that stupid device, I wouldn't be surprised if the next time he does that, he will grab the bag and pull up a dust ball while he is at it. Did you know there is enough dust on the top of the door frame to coat my digits with? Because there most certainly is and I hate it. I ended up cleaning all the dust on top of the doorframe myself after I had it in the corner of my vision for a whole deca-cycle tormenting me. Then I cleaned under the purifier and the other devices in the energon preparation station. I may have also ended up getting the broom Megatron keeps in storage to clean under the couch and holoscreen in order to fetch a spare accessory that was discarded under there almost a half stellar cycle ago. I left it on the dining room table.
While I had the broom I also may or may not have swept the outside deck. That thing was covered in enough dust in the corners to make any sensible guardsman cringe. Then I also got rid of the pile of shavings Orion and Megatron's neighbor keeps leaving out back. The mech is an engraver by trade, but his scraps keep getting onto Orion and Megatron's property and it is outrageous. Can't the engraver have some grace and dispose of his waste properly? I half the mind to call an inspector over to check his workspace standards if this is a continual issue. His cyber-feline is also a pain in the aft. The stupid mech-animal keeps howling like the world is on fire in the middle of Orion's recharge cycles and has already caused him to wake up screaming more than once.
It turned out the thing was just hungry since that aft of an engraver doesn't tend to the poor thing, so I went out and bought some energon rations for the cyber-feline. It seems to be of Kaoni origin based on its marking and structure, a pure breed too. Its quite obviously meant for assisting in battle when properly trained. But anyway, I fed it and now it comes out every recharge cycle to demand more fuel. This is cutting into my funds a bit, but the feline has stopped being noisy and waking up Orion, so I think its a good investment. Besides, the feline has already proven useful. It has been bringing me the things Orion keeps leaving out in the yard, like his crystal tending tools that he left in the shed and never retrieved.
I named the cyber-feline Carnage since it is so destructive with its voice. To ensure the investment is worth it, I have begun training Carnage to follow simple commands. Aside from collecting things for me, it has also taken to following me into my hiding spots despite my attempts to keep it out. Thankfully it has remained quiet and has found ways to escape the hab without making a sound. It is highly intelligent. If possible, I would like to keep it and recommend Inquisitors take similar felines into their care. Carnage I think will prove more useful with time.
Anyway, aside from the feline and the dust which I dealt with, Orion also brought home a box of random accessories and paints a few cycles ago and proceeded to organize exactly none of it. He had a grand old time painting Megatron with pretty glyphs and putting magnetic accessories on him, but he just shoved everything onto a shelf and left it there. I tried to ignore it, I really did, but there was a bottle barely on the shelf and it teetered every time someone walked past, so I ended up fixing things. It wasn't much, I simply moved everything into a more acceptable positions and arranged the paints by color profile and number as well as the accessories by design and artisan of origin. I may have also bought a special box to put it all in, but that is beside the point. I played it off fairly well in my opinion and made it look like a gift from a friend by leaving a small tag simply titled.
𝔄 𝔤𝔦𝔣𝔱 𝔱𝔬 𝔪𝔞𝔨𝔢 𝔲𝔭 𝔣𝔬𝔯 𝔶𝔬𝔲𝔯 𝔩𝔞𝔠𝔨 𝔬𝔣 𝔬𝔯𝔤𝔞𝔫𝔦𝔷𝔞𝔱𝔦𝔬𝔫𝔞𝔩 𝔰𝔨𝔦𝔩𝔩𝔰.
-ℌ𝔲𝔰𝔥
I tried to use glyphs to cover for my intervention. Thankfully Orion didn't seem to notice anything and Megatron merely looked at the note before tearing it off and walking away. I apologize for acting, but I couldn't stand it. And I apologize for also getting into Megatron's energon storage to organize there too.
His method of storing energon is primitive by any standard. He just stakes his crates of energon on top of one another haphazardly in some strange order I could never decipher. He has an easy time getting to everything because he is fragging huge, but he doesn't take into account anyone else. Thus I have spent the last several cycles dutifully arranging things in there. Its been difficult to not make a noise while moving around crates almost as bit as I am, but I have been careful. I moved the base energon cubes around toward the entrance of the storage room since that is generally what Megatron and Orion have in the morning. Then I put the additives right next to the crates in organized containers I made while waiting in my post. After that I shuffled around the various energon snacks and goodies that Orion has been storing up on and put them into stacks based on type.
The only time I have ever felt more satisfied was when I was named an Inquisitor. It was a weight off my spark to have that room organized last recharge cycle. Of course I have suffered for it a bit and I needed to take a quick defrag in order to keep going, but it was worth it in my opinion. That said, I haven't done too much and merely listened to Megatron continue to wax poetics and Orion whine about the council and their orders. In my personal opinion the council can go frag themselves, their will is not the will of the Lord Steward or our Prime, and thus they are irrelevant. Nonetheless, I do believe I have heard quite enough about the council from Megatron and Orion.
I hate this hab with a passion, but I have learned here. I thank Primus for giving me this chance to express my patience and I pray his Angel will continue to watch over me. I am unsure how much longer I can maintain my sanity if I have nothing to work with aside from small petty inconveniences.

[Note from Chaplain Paradox:
Hush, at this point you have quite likely been discovered. Normally this would give us reason to have you be called back, however I have had my suspicions that Megatron has known of your presence since you arrived. Thus you must continue your work as quietly as you can, but as it is, if you are spotted, it is not mission ending. Do not allow yourself to be seen if it is possible, but if you are, go quiet for a deca-cycle or so and then continue with your work.
Remember, you are not a housekeeper nor are you a nanny. Please try and stay on task, but if you can gather more information by working to gain the trust of Megatron, then so be it. All I ask is that you remember who you serve.
The Prime watches over us all. We are his chosen, his guardians as he walks among us in mortal frame. Do not forget your purpose Hush.]

Nothing of note. NOTHING of note has happened. Its just Megatron being sickeningly domestic. He does the same scrap he always does and constantly goes over his writing or his poetry. He did go to a council meeting as Orion Pax's Conjunx but was denied entry due to the fact that he is still not legally registered as Orion's Conjunx. When Orion Pax returned home they both had quite the discussion over the disparity in benefits given to council mecha Conjunxes. It was a fascinating discussion that quickly fell to MORE romantic scrap as such conversations always seem to.
There hasn't been much to do, so I have been attempting to familiarize myself with Megatron's hab as much as possible. He has exactly 236 panels in his ceiling and 234 on the floor. I don't know the building crews managed to miss two panels on the floor, but it is highly agitating. Megatron also keeps exactly 7 thermoplastic sheets in storage and that too is irritating. What mech would keep an odd number of sheets? And the quality is also wildly differing. One is thin enough to hardly be worth keeping, another is made of strange scratchy organic material that I personally think is disgusting to touch. There is also another one that is thick and heavy enough to cover three different guardsmen! Its ridiculous. He should have no reason to keep so many sheets, but Orion Pax seems fond of using a different one every few cycles.
It really doesn't mean too much, but Megatron and Orion have a sizable collection of datapads. Most are official documents that Orion Pax swaps out periodically once he completes work on them and returns them to the archives. However there are a few documents that remain constant and are fascinating to read, if rather heretical in nature. They have a first edition copy of the Decepticon manifesto from when it was still a revolution and not a wartime faction. It was left out in the open on Megatron's desk after he and Orion retired to their berth. I know I should have remained hidden, but it was sitting right there and there is very little worthy of being seen during the dark Joors of the cycle. So with that in mind, I did end up leaving my post to collect the documents and read it while Megatron and Orion were recharging. Rest assured I scrubbed my digit prints from it and eliminated any indicator that I was there, but it was most certainly an interesting read.
Megatron has left out several other documents of interest on his desk recently too. All sorts of memoirs, records, and entries from Decepticons and Neutrals just left... sitting there almost like he wants me to read them. I doubt he knows I am here, but it is suspicious, even if it is a welcome relief from the boredom of recharge cycles. It has been enlightening to read these works. I do believe I might need to be checked for corruption when I return from this post, but for the time being, I have found the reports to be of interest. I do believe it may be in our best interest to begin sifting through these reports and getting them made available for the public. They show an interesting perspective on the war, one that I never knew about in any real depth.
Aside from my investigations into these written works, I have also taken note of a series of documents Orion Pax has been enthralled in. He reads them right before recharge when he can, often reading it aloud almost as if to distract himself from something. The story is intriguing in that it seems rather similar to Orion's own past. I took a look at the author and while the author has been using a pen name, it was not hard to track him down. Evidently the series has been written by Knockout as a strange workaround to the efforts my fellow Inquisitors have made to ensure the doctor cannot taint the image of our Prime. It seems that after having his work censored, he has moved onto creating fictional stories that are based around the truth but have different designations and places listed. With that in mind I fully expected the story to be a waste of time or a poorly made reiteration of what already happened. But surprisingly the story is actually quite good.
I can see why Orion Pax likes the series. The characters are compelling and I have yet to find a ton of fault with how even our Prime is depicted under his replacement designation. Knockout is speaking truth in his writing, albeit with too much blasphemy to be worthy of being published properly. My only real issue with this situation is simply that Orion reads so SLOWLY when he speak out loud. I know he is trying to add inflection to his glyphs and covey ALL the meaning. But Primus above I want to know what happens next in a reasonable fashion. It has been whole deca-cycles and he is still going on and on and ON. Its only book two chapter three and I have been here for almost half a stellar cycle.
Right... beyond that I have noted Megatron and Orion's hab is clean, very clean in fact. That said, their organizational skills are slag. Megatron keeps everything out of the way and in a certain degree of order, but Orion Pax places things wherever they fit and in an order known only to himself. I have TRIED to figure out how he organizes but to no avail. It seems almost like he puts things wherever is most convenient and moves on. He put a datapad on the Quintesson war with datapads based around romance. Its driving me insane. He does this with EVERYTHING. He put his plating shiner right next to his potted crystal by the window and left it there all recharge cycle long! Does he not know that direct light weakens the shiner?
Orion also collects small objects which he promptly throws into one of three containers. One is filled with small shiny things ranging from baubles to actual components that mecha have lost. The second is filled with rocks, that's it, just rocks, and not even pretty rocks most of the time. The last container has just been filled with MORE datapads, once again in no real order. Things are put absolutely everywhere and its driving me mad.
Megatron is better in that regard in that he has a sense of organization I can comprehend, but he has no taste when it comes to internal decoration. I will not claim to have excellent opinions myself, but even I know that navy blue does not go with neon green mesh pillows. There is a rug on the ground in the living room that is covered in all sorts of lovely murals and Megatron of Kaon has DEVESTATED the thing by putting it in the corner of the room and practically covering the entire thing will his desk and datapads! Its a travesty! Then of course there is also the shelf he has in his berthroom with all sorts of random collectables that would look FAR more appealing in the entryway of the hab. Oh and there is also the side table that has a potted crystal on it that would be a lot more pleasing if it was moved just three. fragging. inches. to the left.
Its so ridiculous. ALL of it is. 278 kisses in just three cycles. 239 shoulder clasps, 76 embraces, 245 waist hugs, 129 affectionate helm touches... the list goes on and on. I don't even want to get started on the disaster that its Megatron's energon stores. If I do I will be here for the next vorn complaining.

[Inquisitorial Report: Subject - Megatron of Kaon]
[Authorization Level: Alpha (Elite Guard Selective)]
[Listed Authorizations: Head Elite Guardsman Smokescreen, Chaplain Paradox]
[Assigned Inquisitor: Hush]
[15 Vorns after Cybertron's Restoration - One Deca-cycle into assignment]
═════════════════
Through a deca-cycle of dutiful observation and reviewing footage from Megatron's past behaviors prior to my assignment, I have determined his regular routine. His actions have thus far been entirely tame, a rather suspicious thing to say the least. However from what I have determined, his regular cycle seems to go as such.
He wakes from recharge the moment the light of the nearest star breaches the horizon. However often he does not actually leave his berth until Orion Pax wakes from recharge a half Groon or so after. At that point Megatron usually prepares fuel, although so far I have witnessed slight variation in who does the Orn fuel purifying. After that Megatron and Orion Pax will often discuss whatever topic has garnered their interest that cycle before cleaning up. From there they continue to discuss whatever has their fancy until Orion Pax prepares to head to his place of work at the Archives. Often times they will speak on political matters, however they have yet to speak in a manner that would warrant intervention. At most I have observed them speaking with distain regarding the policies the Council has elected to put in place.
After one of the duo has cleaned up from their morning fueling, Megatron assists Orion Pax in preparing for his work. Usually that entails assisting him in wiping down hard to reach armor plates and applying any necessary waxes to ensure professionalism is achieved. Upon completing that, Megatron then proceeds to travel with Orion Pax to his place of work. I have tailed them quietly every cycle this past deca-cycle and can safely say they take exactly three known routes regularly. Their residence is not too far from the Hall of Records so often their walk does not take more than thirty Kliks after a quick commute up to the higher levels. There are ample places to hide amongst the crowds, the likelihood of my being spotted is quite low. Even still, I will take every precaution. Megatron of Kaon is not to be underestimated, not after he very nearly wiped our people out during the great war.
I made my oath. I will not fail in my duty. Until a new Prime is forged, I will serve dutifully and perform all the tasks given to me by Brother Chaplain Paradox, Head Elite Guardsman Smokescreen, and the Primal Steward. I refuse to disappoint, not when the glory of our divine Prime must be maintained. Primus's chosen Angel died so that we might live... I will not allow his grace to be forgotten. The heretic will fall, the abomination will be destroyed, and our people will be safe.
Apologies, I will return to the topic of this report. As I was saying, Megatron then brings Orion Pax to his place of work and from that point onward he lingers for roughly an additional forty Kliks to ensure his Conjunx is settled before leaving. Thus far I have seen no serious variation in this action, however reports do say that at times he stays for longer, sometimes the whole cycle when Orion Pax is on edge. Then once that is done, he returns to his hab without much time wasted and proceeds to clean the entire residence. I am unsure if he knows I am here or is simply waiting for something, whatever the case, he has yet to do anything of interest beyond writing some inflammatory articles for the datanet.
All my observations have confirmed is that Megatron of Kaon is indeed the Anonymous writer on the datanet causing dissent. So far his work is not aggressive enough to warrant intervention, however I will keep a close optic on what he creates. The moment I note anything that could point toward the reformation of the Decepticon movement under a new banner, I will send an alert and attempt to eliminate the issue before it can take root. Whether that be by destroying his archive of files, discrediting him, or attempting to mutilate him as much as I can to buy time. I will do what is required.
Moving on from that, Megatron rarely does anything aside from write after cleaning his hab. He either writes under his pseudonym or he waxes poetics about his Conjunx. Already I have listened to him recount his poetry regarding the way Orion Pax's frame reminds Megatron of the stars to have memorized the poem. I have run it through all sorts of analysis protocols to try and find hidden meaning there, but thus far it seems to be an innocent, albeit slightly uncouth poetic work. I sincerely hope Megatron is merely putting up a front, I would rather not have to listen to his poetics for the remainder of my assignment.
He does nothing out of the ordinary until Orion Pax returns from work, at which point he and Megatron often engage in intimate greetings before preparing their fuel before the light fades. Their recharge cycles generally consist of romantic but often domestic interaction. However I have already been forced to vacate my hiding place in response to less wholesome engagements. I would have liked to have purged the audial data, however protocol dictates that I must maintain my memory until it has been uploaded to the databanks.
Upon finishing their pre-recharge activities, Orion Pax and Megatron settle down and often recharge without issue. Orion Pax seems fond of curling up against Megatron or even sleeping under him. I find it odd, but then again, I am not exactly an expert in these matters. With that said, beyond that Megatron often does not do too much. Sometimes Orion Pax will wake in terror and need to be soothed, however that, from what I gather, is not too common anymore.
It is strange. Megatron has done nothing that could hint at criminal activity so far. His worst record shows a few air traffic breaches, but that is all. I will keep watch and wait, he must be hiding something, or he might even know I am here. I will move my hiding space further into the walls and place cameras in key areas from this point forward. I won't miss anything, and if required I will wire my audial processing units into the wires of Megatron's hab so that I can hear all that goes on within. I will not allow any evil to escape my knowledge. I am the audials and the optics of the Prime, what I see, he sees. I refuse to fail him with laziness.
I will give my next report when something of interest happens or Megatron makes a move out of the ordinary.

[Note from Chaplain Paradox:
Continue operating quietly. Observe and see if the blasphemer performs out of the ordinary. Should he threaten the peace of our world, poison his energon and lace the hab with explosives before making your escape. It is unlikely to kill him, but it will give us time to act before his evil can be unleashed.
May Primus guide your steps and our Prime give you his grace. Be diligent dear child, our Maker is with us and his Angel watches over us.]
