#if i’m remembering right#we can’t even blame this on elon#twitter was already in the late stages of developing this when he took over#it’s just garden variety capitalism#twitter jumped the shark when they increased the character limit the first time imho#(though i was amused when i wrote alt text for images on Twitter#an actual accessibility feature with a standard that encourages limited character use (about the length of a tweet)#with four images i could cram 4k characters into a tweet that no one would read!)
