Steven Universe! au character profile

I had this idea for Steven Universe and Gravity Falls that I couldn’t stop thinking about for the last couple summers. I call it, the LUV BUG au. It’s been in my head now since SUF ended. All you need to know about it is that it follows Steven being discharged from the psych ward. See, instead of having the gems talking Steven down calmly, it sort of went the direction SUF couldn’t go in. You know, the ending the fandom actually wanted from the series. Steven’s corrupted form lead to massive destruction, a travesty on parts of the coast. It’s what leads Steven to evaluate his mentality in the psych ward.

Plus: he dyes his hair different colors on his entire trip as a coping mechanism. He chooses blue by the time he makes his way to Gravity Falls.

He's a modern bug! He was raised by his grandparents which is why he talks like he's a hundred million years old.

He's married to muse and is a researcher! He studies languages and knows quite a few! He actually knows quite a bit of roach, while not fluent, he is the foremost expert in bugaria.

When Kabbu and Vi go to snakemouth den, instead of getting trapped, they get chased out by the spider. Kabbu knows Leif, and that he's interested in roach stuff and mentioned what they discovered. Leif of course, like any sane person with a special interest, immediately demands that he come on their next incredibly dangerous excursion.

Which of course, is how he gets venomed lol. And yeah, he's red btw. If i made him blue then I'd have to make all of team snakemouth blue.

Ah, the mafia twins. Husk hadn’t expected to form such an intimate attraction to a fellow Overlord’s child, let alone two. There were times when Husk pondered what Henroin might do if the Don knew he regularly bedded Anthony and Molly.

It wasn’t the gambler’s fault he was solicited by a gorgeous pair of Capo’s who wanted to share him. But there was more to their bond than sexual rendezvous’: Husk was a listening ear and an open heart. He gave the twins a refuge to let their guards down and be themselves, which was significant for someone as closeted as Anthony.

Additionally, Husk had taken the time to get to know the twins as individuals, acknowledging that they weren’t a package deal. He blew off steam in the Doomsday District with Anthony and took Molly to performances at The Proscenium theatre. Fostering strong relationships with each of them had led to unparalleled passion when he was lucky enough to share a bed with them both.

Though Husk definitely acknowledged Anthony and Molly as their own people, he adored them equally. The only difference he didn’t have the heart to reveal was that he trusted Molly more, due to her ability to keep a level head in various stressful situations. Anthony was his precious firecracker, but if Husk was going to choose a liaison between the two, his vote was with Molly.

"Suerte" is Mexican for Spanish and Leo does have a preference for mixing Spanish and Mexican words into his speech... I also thought he might call hersoemthing silly like "Lucky Bug" or "Little Lucky Bird" or something. Hmmm "Little Clover??"

so maybe he calls her "Ladybug/Lucky Bug"? That would be really cute. (and kinda wanted her to have some sort of bug nickname, anyways.) (plus, it's a cute reference to Miraculous Ladybug, which Leo would definitely be geeky enough to do on purpose. especially since i imagine Donnie named her 'Clara' partially in reference to Clara Oswald, a companion in Doctor Who : ) )

I am thinking of doing some of my motorcycle part 5 au where on short is an au where the Bucci gang goes around the country on motorcycles. Giorno wants to enter in the BUCCI gang soo somehow he got in but he actually doesn't know how to drive ...LIKE AT ALL SOOO ...he uses the bus or on foot all the time dbdhdbbdbd(Abbachio gets angry about this ) . Much later Fugo shares his motorcycle with Gio (YAY FUGIO )!!!! All this au is just Giorno being silly and dorky going on bus learning about motorcycles !Fugo having an crush on Gio; Mista and Nara being silly together ,BRUABBA MOTORCYCLE AU!! AND Trish trying to find Giorno because mf just disappeared and instead she finds Sheila and they have a lot of funny moments together !!

By the way Giorno creates the most insane plans for going to Mac donalds with the BUCCI gang and they do crimes YO HOO!!!

i thought too hard about insect motifs got a little silly and made... a lot lmao these versions of the characters are from @sm-baby's amazing digital carnival au!! full images and rambling about insect choices are gonna get stuck under the cut... it'll be a bit long and i will be putting photos of real bugs down there so be mindful

pomni: "butterfly"

inspirational species are black swallowtails mostly for the shape, and malay red harlequins mostly for the pattern

carnival pomni's actually the one that kickstarted this whole set... i drew her hat in a way that reminded me of butterflies, went "wait...", then i fully leaned into it :)

jax: "centipede"

there was no specific species for jax. without being able to use color, they were too similar to pick any out... i have included a giant centipede just for reference though since it was mainly larger centipedes i used for inspiration

anddd there's a little bonus sketch for how pre-sentience jax might've looked with a centipede outfit... he gets a bug scarf and some goggles!

ragatha: "ladybug"

inspirational species was the twice-stabbed ladybug chosen because the inverted color scheme looked the best out of all the ones i tried, and also because it's a metal name and we know ragatha's good with a knife... stabby stab... i did add more than two spots to the dress though, it just looks cooler lol

gangle: "spider"

inspiration was the spinybacked orb weaver which i was absolutely ecstatic to find because come on that is the perfect spider for gangle like look at it!! it looks like her mask, it's got red, it's got gold on the limbs, literally twinning

zooble: "mantis"

inspiration was the spiny flower mantis which, like with gangle, i feel is pretty much perfect for zooble... they come in many colors (including pink), have abstract patterns, and it gave me the excuse to cover zooble in spikes :D fun

and no kaufmo because i'm lazy and he's dead (sorry kaufmo fans but am i wrong), and the rest don't have bug names that i know of?

i still want to draw the carnival characters in their regular looks sometime, i just got really really inspired by the idea of secret skins and bug-themed outfits and went a liiittle haywire :P

anyways if you read all that you're a real one and you've got too much time on your hands... if you didn't, i understand, i get wordy, sorry :'D okay i think that's all byeee
