i know i might be breaking like, fandom customs by putting TWEOS! Adrien into the most Chat Blanc of Chat Blanc situations and then refusing to Chat Blancify him. sorry, it's a condition.

...but like, hopefully over 47 chapters now, i've been able to convince you guys that his first resort would ABSOLUTELY be drowning out his fucking feelings with alcohol and wallowing in his own misery. your adrien is out there destroying the moon, MINE is crying in his bathtub with half a bottle of Grenache wondering if it'd be sexier to set himself on fire or stab himself to death.

oh god-- yes, yes I do.

I haven't designed him yet, nor would he ever show up in the story, but because Felix in my AU is quintessentially, annoyingly British... Dog!Felix would go by Pembroke Welsh. Like, y'know, the corgi.

(Dog!Adrien, on the other hand, would call himself Retriever)

Other than that, what I have is mostly ideas for Claudrien with other miraculous combos, like Butterfly&Peacock, Snekmouse, Swapped Kwamis, etc.

SnekMouse!Claudrien is also something along these lines:

Adrien is the one with the mouse miraculous. Because he loves ballet so much, his design would take inspiration from the Nutcracker, and male ballerinas (ballerinos?) in general. Name would either be Mr. Mousey or Mouse King.

Therefore, Claudia has the snake miraculous. She would go by Garter Snake (and, obviously, have leg garters as the name implies). The staple of her costume would be a satiny dress with slits on both sides and a snakey hair ornament/clip keeping her bun together.

And then there's Peacock!Claudia, who I've decided would be named Pavino, but she honestly deserves her own post lol

btw i decided that in the ch50 behind the scenes dump that i'm going to share "Claudia's" pinterest acc (just pretend that website was public by late 2008 ok), and while the little descriptions for each board aren't diegetic, everything else about it is 100% canon.

i might even post a pin or two on that acc someday, but it all depends since it would need to be an edited photo rather than straight drawings.

not to toot my own horn but i've been re-reading Chapter 37 of TWEOS, and good GOD i'm sometimes in awe of how blunt yet disgusting I wrote Gabriel to be in this section.

just reading all of the times Gabriel calls his only son a "dog fucker". EW. and like, not only is that incredibly crass language for Gabriel, he only uses it in this context, but like—

that dog is an actual human person that we've spent the last 37 or so chapters learning to care about. she's not even referred to as Lydia or even as "that girl"— It's either "the whore". or dog.

and like, no wonder Gabriel would murder Claudia in a heartbeat, not only is she inhuman to him, he considers her incapable of rational thought. he frames Adrien's consensual relationship with her as coercion, as rape— because he doesn't regard the lower classes with enough dignity to see it as anything else. he even considers it infectious:

"Yes, boy, put down. Euthanized. Disposed of. Has fucking dogs made you dumber too?"

just-- eeuaaaghh it's revolting. but it's so visceral. yay me ig

sometimes i worry that the divergences from canon i work into my fic come from forces outside of my control. like, some of them are concrete: Adrien has slightly curlier hair and liking jazz makes sense cause I have those things. Marinette's weird behavior comes from my observations of Kpop stans and Y/N tropes, that's another concrete thing I can pull back on

...but one day I just sat up and looked at a picture of Audrey Bourgeois and was like "hm. getting real sex offender vibes from this one"

I need to find voice claims for the tweos cast so bad but I have no idea what I'm doing half the time. I wish I could just describe in detail the kind of voice I'm looking for and instantly have a "compilation of all of X character's voice lines in Y". raagh

posting TWEOS to quotev has definitely been interesting (...I have found that the differences in how you can format things makes a lot of stuff every so slightly more difficult), but genuinely the best AND worst part is the Stats page.

On one hand, I can see just how popular each chapter is and make dumb little theories as to why (Ch30? has a small jump. And that is coincidentally the first chapter to involve banging). It's interesting and part of me wonders how I can optimize it for as little people to 'skip' as possible.

...However, you can sometimes see someone reading in real time based on when they last access a chapter and how often that updates. And I am concerned that me staring at my screen and watching this counter update for a specific reader and watching with bated breath as they binge my fic... is a very in-character thing for me to do.

Question: How well do the lyrics of Sinunoga-eWa embody Adrien's view of Claudia?

Fairly well? It's got the desperation down, for sure. I could see it being in his theoretical playlist right next to "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now" and "I Know It's Over". My only caveat is it isn't masochistic enough to really embody what's going on inside his fucked up little head.

But I feel like Adrien himself would definitely find it relatable--He'd enjoy that it's a mix of Japanese and English, too, since that wasn't as common back in the day.
