Telltale rant
Where do I even begin? I played TWD Season one when I was only twelve years old. It was the first video game I ever played—and I loved Lee and Clementine and all of the other characters. It was the first video game that made me cry when characters died, and made me laugh and beam with pride when characters cracked small jokes or saved someone they loved. I played season two and season three and was excited as hell for season four.
But it was not only the walking dead that made me fall in love with Telltale...It was The Wolf Among Us. From the violet and neon scenery to the 1980’s theme and beautiful yet thrilling soundtrack, I couldn’t help but to fucking love Bigby and the entire fable communty. I could relate to Bigby on multiple things, and even felt anger at other characters for hating him when in reality he was trying hard to save people and find out the truth. He was an amazing male figure for me to look up to and a fucking amazing hero.
Tales from The Borderlands made me laugh my ass off, and gave the proper ending to such a complicated villain as Handsome Jack. In Borderlands Jack is just killed—In TFTB Handsome Jack shows FEAR FOR DEATH. REAL. ACTUAL. FEAR. It is something you rarely see on his character, and goddamn did they do it perfectly. The emotions Jack showed of his view of death and his past hit me hard, and in the end? You can choose to either kill Jack for good, or to keep him alive. Fiona and Sasha and Rhys were also amazing characters who made me laugh— and also cheer for when they did badass shit. And Vaugn? That dude is way too muscular.
So, all in all, I thank you workers of telltale for filling my childhood with joy, laughter, anger, and sadness. For telling ridiculously beautiful stories and giving characters the ending that they deserve.
Thank you, Telltale.
Except you CEO and the owner of Telltale. Fuck yall for making stupid ass decisions and working your developers to death, and for firing 250 people with families. Fuck you.
To the storytellers—You will be with me forever.
