“I lowkey daydream about creating a muse who's a pedophile, just to watch the idiots on Tumblr implode. It's hilarious how so many people equate “pedophile” to “offender who watches videos of children or participates in criminal or bad activities”, and equate “pedophile” to “child molester”, when it's not always the case, and I guarantee they've probably walked by pedophiles on the street that simply never did anything. Not to mention that's partly why they're so afraid to get help. Bite me.“

TWcontroversial subject TWtransgender Hi mom/dad! I’ve kinda been seeing more of these lately, and it’s making me feel like I’m evil. I’m a transcum as most people call us. I know a lot of us are mean, but I’ve always respected people’s pronouns, and I’ve never been mean to anyone, yet i hate myself because of posts like these; I see things such as “transcums are evil” “transmeds dOnT interact” “transmeds/transcums can’t be part of the community”. Do i have to change my beliefs? Am i evil? Help
Okay so I admit I’m new to a lot of this lingo, but from what I understand transcum/transmed believe that you need to experience dysphoria in order to be trans? Correct me if I’m wrong but that’s the definition I’m using to respond to this.
You’re not evil. That’s a word that needs to be saved for people who actually deserve it.
But you do need to understand why people get so upset or defensive in regards to your beliefs. People feel like their gender identity is being attacked or invalidated. And yeah it’s nice you respect pronouns but there’s still that underlayer of “you don’t think I am what I say am because I don’t fit your own personal criteria”
And for most of us gender identity is already so gods damn difficult. And we agonize over it for so long, worrying about getting it wrong, worrying about coming out, worrying about the aftermath, just constant worrying. So it’s incredibly disheartening to have people in the community who believe they can dismantle your entire gender identity with one question. “Do you experience dsyphoria?” As if gender has ever been that easy.
So maybe you can understand why people get so angry and don’t necessarily want to interact with someone who holds these beliefs.
I’m not going to tell you what you should believe or to change your beliefs. First off no one can force that. You have to decide that yourself. But also I’m not in the business of forcing my beliefs down anyone’s throat. I don’t operate like that.
So I don’t really know what else to tell you?

“Can someone legit tell me what the fuck is transphobic about genderbends? What's wrong with changing a muse to be a different gender from the outset, whether they go from male to female, male to nonbinary, etc.? I can't even see how that is trans erasure, because? Maybe the whole transitioning and dysphoria struggles that people apparently want to see would only detract from other pivotal things that happened at that time in their bio? Why's it bad to not make them trans? NOBODY has an answer for me.“

“The only thing “boring af” here is apparently you. God, I can’t believe I have to properly explain and defend the right to explore and write villains and truly evil acts on a topic as this... but I won’t leave behind any darkly written muse. Look, just because you won’t write it nor associate with anyone who does write it, doesn’t mean you get to pretend that there isn’t a single reason out there about this topic that would be attractive to another writer. You’re just being a dickhead for the sake of being a dickhead, acting as if preying on children is literally the only thing that can be written about a pedophile. Here are some good reasons, at the drop of hat, because that how easy it is when you choose to think critically, not emotionally: 1. Writing the pedophile as NOT a villain, but as someone struggling to overcome their sickness, which certainly acknowledges the whole point of the OG OP’s point: That they’re human beings, too, but living with a serious, perhaps even dangerous, mental illness. They still live normal human lives in the public eye - they still go to school; have jobs, friends, family, even adult lovers; have enemies and troubles that have nothing to do with their illness; have hobbies and interests that have nothing to do with their illness. And then even exploring how their illness fucks with any or all of these normal aspects in their life. 2. Writing them 100% a villain - someone who has embraced their evil. They don’t care about the harm they cause; they’re selfish and they want what they want. But it can’t be easy to take what you want without getting caught, right? So, the writer explores the psychological aspect of deception, manipulation, secrecy, and intimidation all the while portraying their character as someone wholesome, charming, and a productive member of society. Like serial killers, both fictional (Dexter? Hannibal?) and real (John Wayne Gacy? Ted Bundy?). 3. Exploring the extreme psychological element behind grooming a child. How will the pedophile go about it? How do they keep the secret between them and the child? How does the relationship develop between them and the child? How do they interact together outside of the act of sexual abuse? Does the pedophile fall in love? Does the child grow up with a twisted sense of love and devotion? Very much exploring the lasting impact, much like what happened in Lolita. 4. Why does the child have to be human? Why can’t they be an immortal of some sort, forever trapped in the body of a child, but with the mind of an adult? If that’s the case, then the writer can also easily explore the aspect of the CHILD being the sexual predator, luring in an adult human who may not be a pedophile, but has no choice but to be their lover. Or what if both the child and adult are both immortals? (Claudia and Louis from Interview with the Vampire? Anyone?) 5. Why would it ever have to take place in today’s modern world? Why couldn’t it take place in a dystopian-type era, where there are no laws? Do you seriously believe that in a world where there is only survival, everything BUT child rape happens? What if it’s a different species? Or an alien culture? 6. Why does it have to be a MALE pedophile?? (Because I noticed that immediately, using male pronouns, acting as if there has never been an instance where a woman sexually abuses a child.) Why does it even have to be an adult as a pedophile? There are absolutely child and teenage pedophiles. 7. Why does it even have to be a pedophile, someone who is sexually attracted to minors under the age of eleven years old? Why not a hebephile (attracted to minors between the ages of eleven and fourteen)? Why not an ephebophile (attracted to minors between the ages of fifteen and nineteen)? Female sexual predators are DEFINITELY prolific with these age groups, specifically teachers. I don’t write pedophilia, and I don’t foresee a circumstance where I might consider it, but I can see SO many perspectives as to why someone else would, because the shit is no different from writing anything else dark, ESPECIALLY if it has a sexual aspect to it. Because for whatever goddamn reason with you people, you can write about a child slowly cannibalizing another child, or someone brutally murdering a woman and carving out her eyes for a trophy, or someone sadistically torturing a man by slowly cutting out his intestines and wrenching out his teeth one by one... But if you have that character touch their genitals in ANY WAY, then suddenly it’s too much. “You’ve gone TOO FAR, my dude, adding a sexual element prior to that horrific, violent BEATING act you just had your character bestow that child. Why, yes, of course you can starve that child. Force it to sit at the table and endure the rest of the family eat a steak and potato dinner! Yes, let the child be denied a bed or blanket; let it sleep on the floor, using sheets of paper towel as a way to keep warm! ...H-hey, what? Whoa, whoa, WHOA! What are you doing? Are you writing about your character SEXUALLY abusing the child? What the fuck is wrong with you? Do you LIKE that kind of shit or something? Wow, you’re a creep. That shit’s illegal for a reason! THINK ABOUT THE REAL VICTIMS YOU’RE HURTING!” It’s just ignorant and absurd, and I won’t have it. I will side with someone who wants to explore the dark themes of a pedophile before I ever side with the fucking hypocrisy and insufferable moral grandstanding of those who make exceptions for everything... as long as it doesn’t involve a dreaded sex crime. You don’t have to fucking write it; no one is even saying you have to fucking like it or agree with it. But don’t fucking pretend to be morally superior because you won’t write it, and don’t be so insulting as to imply that there is nothing creatively interesting to be explored.”

Starting to think all the shitstains defending the pedophilia confessions are secretly pedophiles themselves. Thanks for outing yourselves and showing me who to block.
And it’s unfortunate for everyone else because they’re can’t block someone who thinks so poorly about people they don’t know.
Just a word of caution, in case you feel like you wanna come at anyone publicly the next time this topic comes around (because it will. This isn’t the first time a Great Debate has happened on this): RULES:
“[insert OP/commenter] is obviously a rapist/pedophilie!” If we find that you have accused someone of being a rapist, pedophile, or apologist of either because of their defensive views on noncon/pedophilic ships or roleplay, your comment will be removed and you will be blocked. These are serious accusations that you shouldn’t be throwing at people over fictional content and we refuse to to let you use this blog as a platform to spew such slanderous accusations.

“*sighs* It doesn’t matter how many times or how loudly you declare “I AM A VICTIM”. It’s irrelevant and, frankly, fallacious as an argument. If you’re unable to handle the mere THOUGHT of anyone writing characters or situations that share similarities to your own traumatic experiences, then you legitimately NEED to seek therapy. Because what you’re ultimately doing is projecting the sins of your abuser onto complete STRANGERS; people who had NO part in your abuse or upbringing, and who certainly have NO obligation to you or your mental wellness.”

"I adore roleplay mutuals who I can talk with or do threads where the theme is something dark, angst, smut and all those things. Why? Because who would want to do uwu fluff all the time? It gets boring. I agree with the notion that things should be tagged accordingly so people who are highly squeamish or are easily triggered won't see them. If we cut out all gore, angst and all those things from the community it won't be fun anymore; there won't be any creative writing or people in the roleplay community who like to explore the dark parts of humanity and that's the fun part of roleplay - you can explore and people should be able to do that. Roleplay, in my opinion, is and should be harmless fun for everyone.”

“If putting shock value in a story or make a character go through something dramatic, traumatic and lifehacking is cheap, lazy and horrible writing then we wouldn't have some amazing books, movies or TV shows to watch or some amazing OCs in the Tumblr roleplay community. Yeah, sure, overusing it may start to be cheap and lazy, but if done right it can be a good thing. Dark content writers aren't lazy, cheap and horrible writers. You can't have sunshine and rainbows and Canons/OCs who are pure, innocent cinnamon rolls who are full Mary-Sue/Gary-Stu content and who can't do any harm or haven't though some sort of trauma or dark times. Dark Content is a good thing if done right and it's not completely a bad thing, saying it is and telling everyone that they aren't allowed to write dark content because it is triggering to you is just as lazy and cheap as blaming dark content writers that they are lazy and cheap because they write about about those things. Let people write what they want without having a stick up your ass and gatekeeping the roleplay community and writing community. Let people express themselves for Lucifer's sake and if you don't like to see dark content on your dash then how about you blacklist the things you don't like and you'll be happy and probably leave the authors, content creation and roleplayers alone who enjoy/like write dark content. Dark Content doesn't equal bad, lazy and cheap writing, just because you don't like doesn't mean there aren't others who do.“

“What would a pedophile character even do? If not preying at kids just like... force himself sleeping with adults while imagining it were little kids? To me the concept sounds not just creepy but also lame af. Writing evil shit for the sake of exploring the human mind I get. But that? Sounds just like the OP gets their rocks off via offending people, while being BORING af.“

“Not all stores that have dark themes in them are put there to shock the people reading the stories. Not all Canon/OCs in roleplay community who have dark themes in their stories are put there for shock value, sometimes it's put there to explain away why the said character is the way they are. Not all characters have to be UwU pure cinnamon rolls who can't do any harm and everyone loves them and it's all sunshine and rainbows. If you don't like dark themes why don't you blacklist them and leave the people alone who love and enjoy writing dark-themed Canon/OCs. I'm starting to believe you like and enjoy harassing people who write anything dark themed stories and characters.“

“I know this is going to sound transphobic... but I honestly can't stand when duplicates of my muse make our character trans or non-binary. Why do they do this? Oh, because THEY are trans and non-binary themselves. It has nothing to do with the character. Making him trans or non-binary is so incredibly OOC I can't even.“

““You can't tell me that writers, who don't try to create a coherent story as much as they try to shock the reader, aren't crappy”. Lol, bitch pls. As if, for even ONE SECOND, you would welcome a scene of rape or the predation of a child, regardless of how graphic, if there was a “coherent story” wrapped around it. That’s the whole point of what OG OP was making and why people like you are so utterly ridiculous. Because there will never be such a thing as a “coherent story” if any dark topic you don’t like is involved. The moment it’s written, suddenly the content is deemed “for shock value”, there is no story, and the writer is “cheap/crappy/lacks talent”. It will ALWAYS be “for shock value” with someone like you. That’s why your opinion is so goddamn shitty, and why no one should give it any weight. That “coherent story” will always be an unreachable, unattainable goal for writers who want to appease critics like you. Just because it shocks you, doesn’t mean the content was made for shock value. That’s just you, deciding to embrace a knee-jerk reaction to a dark, uncomfortable scene and deciding that because you didn’t like it, it MUST be because it was written poorly and NOT because you were SUPPOSED to not like it. If all dark themes that you don’t want to see are only for “shock value”, then you’re a biased hypocrite. In your world, Cersei/Jaime were absolutely made for shock value; to disturb the audience each time they were shown together. They didn’t need to be incestuous and Joffrey didn’t need to be inbred for the story to still play out as it did. But that’s how the author wanted them written. And you can’t be a judgmental pisswad if you’re okay with the incest. Just because it was consensual and not rape, therefor something you can stomach, doesn’t make it any less dark or “shocking”.“

“Did... everybody simultaneously forget that everything ties back to fiction-doesnt-reflect-reality? Or about the heavily backed scientific benefits that is “trauma roleplay”? As a person with heavy relativity to this subject, I can see someone in the same position as me using fictional pedophilia as a coping mechanism (aside from the fact that the OP literally said to make a muse to “troll” others). This is the Internet, where adults aren’t expected to baby or make Soff Uwu spaces for what COULD be children. If you, an impressionable youth, stumble upon, I dont know, pedophilia, smut, hardcore topics, etc., and get traumatized or develop a warped sense of reality as a result... then I don’t know what to tell you except get therapy, learn to not do it again, and handle your experience afterwards better. This is why we have a tagging system folks!! “Dead Dove Dont Eat” is honestly the whole point of this conversation. If you’ve tagged your content, branded your content, and marked it (like Archive of Our Own for example), then roleplay whatever the hell you want! It can’t even be admitted into court or get you sent to jail because it’s fiction. This whole thing just feels like censorship with Extra Steps. Also, the Nonnie who said “most of us would never want to come across your blog, because it’s very uncomfortable”? You highly underestimates the Dark Corners of roleplayers. Some of us enjoy interacting with villains and royally fucking up our own muses via trauma or angst. I can see people interacting with the pedo (again, putting aside the “troll” aspects) for the sake of the juicy narrative and screaming askbots attempting to warn that muse away from the villainous pedo. If all you roleplay is fluffy aesthetics and lightcore themes, then by all means. Some of us are utterly bored with it, unfortunately, and crave different flavors of roleplay, which - surprise! - include rape and pedophilia.“

“The argument that “I suffered X trauma, so seeing people write about it is harmful to me and, therefore, they shouldn’t write about it” is a very strange one. By this logic, you have to consider that every single scenario could possibly be triggering for someone, leaving us with absolutely zero freedom for our creative writing. Then there is the argument that “some topics are more triggering than others”, but who gets to decide this? One person might have zero problems reading about sexual assault (which seems to be one of the major taboos to write about here), but gets anxiety from reading about a certain illness (this seems like less of a taboo). Both triggers are equally “valid”. Writers shouldn’t have to take people’s triggers into consideration when writing. Every subject is potentially harmful to someone’s mental health, depending on their life experiences.“

“While we’re talking about incest, I’m going to blow up this conversation and say: If a brother and sister are not having sex (or are using protection and are okay with abortions) and therefore are in zero danger of seeing visible, tangible “consequences” of their incest, I don’t see the problem with two relatives getting together. Love is love, however socially “taboo” it is. On top of that, I think it’s stupid to police people who write incest in general.“
