Background: He met his soon-to-be wife Sarah during training to become a Jaeger pilot and was found to be the most compatible with her, they had their first successful drift together and they became official pilots to Blue Tornado, they were told that they may not be able to have children because of the radiation from Blue Tornado's reactor. However they defied the odds and gave birth to Tanya, they did their best to give her the best childhood, but it was difficult during the Kaiju War and they had to sometimes leave Tanya at the nursery in the London Shatterdome. Peter lost his wife during a battle and had to single-handedly take down the Kaiju, it had devastated him but he would not let Blue Tornado be decommissioned, he had initially been reluctant to let Tanya become a Jaeger pilot should she have the same fate as his wife, but now he was glad to have allowed it since it not only brought them closer together, they were also compatible and there were no longer fears of Blue Tornado being decommissioned.

Guys, I tried to google, but I couldn't find anything on this. Do any of you guys know the mental illness (?) caused my PTSD that makes the "sick" sort of.. dream instead of mentally being present during a traumatic event (eg. torture)? (For example: During torture, the victim's mind sort of "shuts it out" and they fall into some kind of ordinary "dream sequence" where they live as though nothing is wrong; go to school etc.) I'm not even sure if this is an actual thing in reality, but I'm pretty sure it had a name. I remember reading about this in a creepy pasta thread but, truth to be told, I don't want to go there again because of the slightly (very) disturbing images. The thought just hit me and I can't find it anywhere.
