Getting all of the things together for my class this Saturday @alchemy_and_ashes PLANT SPIRIT FAMILIARS This was originally a four week class. We will be exploring the nature of plant spirits and genius loci in depth and how/why one would work with these spirits. Students will be introduced to a number of patron spirits in the herbal arts, and will be taught how to make plant spirit glyphs and plant spirit vessels to interact with these occult forces on a regular basis, hence their familiarity! Nightshades Ave large family of plants, many of which are powerful ethnobotanicals. They are valued for their ceremonial, medicinal and magical virtues. Some of the more powerful nightshades are known for their psychoactive effects. These qualities were indicators of the plants spiritual power, and because of this they became associated with visions, witches and the spirit world. Herbal a Shamans were a common medicinal preparation before modern medicine. The psychoactive nature of some of these formulas would result in their association with witches. I was flying appointments, these preparation’s were blended with superstition, propaganda and xenophobia. The psychoactive preparation’s were used by alleged which is to fly to their Sabbath and cavort with the devil. This can be traced back to an earlier shamanic practice, in which a practitioner would partner with plant spirit allies to journey to the other world and receive knowledge. Utilizing the plants potent chemistry and spiritual power, these preparation‘s acted as vehicles for consciousness. Today we can use them in the same way combining Phytochemistry and occult wisdom to enhance our personal practices. Appointments are safe and effective way of exploring plant spirit medicine and incorporating the powerful spirits into our lives.
