This one is quite sweet! Basically titans have randomly disappeared for some reason and so Erwin and Levi buy a cabin up in the mountains and live there happily. It’s everything they deserve and a nice change in pace since many of these doujins are sad fests. Speaking of sadfests, next up is A World Like Sweet Sweet Candy by Turuya https://myreadingmanga.info/rose-turuya-shingeki-no-kyojin-dj-world-like-sweet-sweet-candy-eng/

This one is a very different style, a lot of head on face shots and stylized expressions, as well as a very stark black/white shading technique. It’s mostly about Levi losing his squad and how Erwin takes it upon himself to shoulder Levi’s burdens and take the blame for it. That’s a very common theme actually, Levi and Erwin taking on each other’s misery to make the other one’s life easier. It’s sweet.

A Book 1 Katara & Zuko adventure – featuring Zuko’s crew, pirates and a big heist.

Chapter 13 and 14 are out!

“It’s not like that!” Katara protested. “Just let me explain. Alright, yes, Zuko and I are the thieves, but only because we found out about Zhao’s plan by accident and took the real thieves’ place. Zuko and I heard about…”

“Oh, Zuko and I, is it! Are we on a first-name basis with the enemy now?”

“Don’t be ridiculous, Sokka, what else should I call him? Anyway, the Fire Prince and I found out about Zhao’s plan, and naturally he also wanted to go after the thing that can catch Aang, and I didn’t want to leave him unsupervised…”

“Wait, wait wait…what’s that thing about Aang?”

“If you would just let me finish!” Katara growled. “Then I might be able to tell you everything, including what Zhao wants to steal and why!”

This finally shut them up. After another furtive look around - the crowd was still rapturously watching whatever was going on with Master Wu- Katara hastily told her story, only leaving out her and Zuko’s brief time as prisoners in the pirates’ basement. They didn’t have time for unnecessary details. She didn’t forget to stress though that she had only stumbled across the pirates in the first place because she had been looking for them, her friends, after she had found Sokka’s message in the flower.

“And the jerkbender came to your help why again? Why would he care?”

“Well, since I belong to his crew now, I guess the pirates insulted his honour or something, because they attacked me.” She tried to sound indifferent. Maybe she should have toned down the part about Zuko’s valiant fight against the pirates. Of course her brother wouldn’t believe that story. A couple of days ago, she wouldn’t have believed it herself.

Sokka still looked at her warily. He appeared less surprised than she had expected, but something else seemed to bother him. He was studying her with a calculating gaze, twirling one long braid of his ridiculous moustache around his finger. She knew that look. This was never a good sign. And sure enough, a moment later, he nodded sagely to himself and patted her head with a sad sigh.

“I was afraid of that. Katara - you have the Gao Ling syndrome.”

“What’s the Gao Ling syndrome? Is she sick?”

“No, Turuya”, Sokka stage-whispered with the concerned frown of the world’s most questionable doctor. “Gao Ling syndrome is when a victim falls in love with her kidnapper and starts excusing their evil behaviour…”

“I don’t have the Gao Ling syndrome, you idiot!” Katara snapped. “Zuko hasn’t kidnapped me, he doesn’t even know who I am!”

“Are you in love with the Fire Prince?” Turuya looked horror-struck.

“I. am. NOT. in love with Zuko!” Katara grinded out between gritted teeth. Why was she even bothering to explain things! Of course her brother wouldn’t understand, he never understood anything, because he was completely insane!

“Can we please focus on our real problems here?” She tried to be the sensible one. Somebody had to. “Aang is still missing, Zuko is somewhere in the building and I bet your resistance friends are getting impatient!”

First of all, congrats! Secondly I have 0 idea how to leave pics other than reblogging so! Behold, my bastard children >:)

Totally going to use this as an opportunity to blab about them, and disclaimer: a lot of these pics are either sketches or unfinished!!!

Turuya Yahontov & Ambrose Rosebourne, respectively.

My favorite losers from my story I’ve been working on. Turuya (39) is the court religion historiographer. Ambrose (42) is second in line for the throne of Surishah, as well as the royal treasurer.

Culturally Ambrose’s is based off of Persia, and Turuya’s is based off of the Yakut and native Russian/Mongolians.

Ambrose is basically tired of everything and would like nothing more than to hide in the woods with his eight suns old daughter, alas, courtly duties and political intrigue keeps him at home in the palace, much to the approval of his two sisters, who take the upmost joy in teasing him senseless.

Turuya is from a northern kingdom that sent a small team of historians/anthropologists to study some ancient ruins near Surishah. One big burst of light later and she’s now the host of an ancient goddess and is taken in by the Surishan court to figure things out. Sassy, well dressed, and criminally underpaid, she’s just here for the ancient texts and records.
