Image 2-  Pacific Coast Highway 1- Big Sur, California    

Orrestranda beach- part of the one of the eighteen national tourist routes in Norway. I chose this image because it truly highlights the beauty and simplicity that the natural world exhibits, specifically in Norway which is a common theme within all of their tourist routes. I like how this image displays all the elements of nature; the ocean and its waves, the sandy coast, the greenery that grows along the coast, the sky, the clouds and the sun peeking through near the background. I also love how it is a very simple photo that displays all of this but also includes a human and their pet interacting with this beautiful landscape of the Norwegian coast. I can image myself, being that person, taking a daily run along this beach, breathing such fresh air and smelling the ocean water, temporarily taking away all my worries and stress. I also chose this image because I love being outside, especially if it’s on the beach or along the coast.

I am from California so this image reminds me of the several of the beaches along the Pacific Coast Highway 1 that runs vertical along California’s coast (as pictured in my personal image on the right). Beaches are part of nature that sort of create borders or boundaries but beautiful, organic ones. For example, the Orrestranda beach is a border for the entire country of Norway and the image I featured shows how the beach in Big Sur creates a border for the end of California before turning into the Pacific Ocean. I also enjoy how my image of the Pacific Coast Highway shows the actual road/highway that you can take to get to these magnificent views, although man-made, they were created so that you can take a turn off the road and come across such landscapes. Like the Norwegian tourist routes, the pacific coast highway is simplistic and not full of busy truck stops, shops or gas stations that make the drive feel inorganic or take away from the nature and land!
