Journalists and bloggers have spent some time reassuring us that our kids act out their worst behavior around Mom (or Dad if he's the primary care giver - shoutout to the SAHDs) because they feel safe and supported. * This doesn't make it any easier when your toddler seems to save all their screaming, hitting, biting, and crying just for you. One of my twins is in a bite-y place right now (almost done with teething for a while, I hope). The other one is in a shove-y place. Both of them turn from cooperative little bundles of fun to crying meltdown-machines when they hear my voice. * One has learned to say, "I need Momma's attention." And when I scoop him up to lavish it on him, he kicks me in the chest while yelling "Down. Down. Down." And you know exactly what happens when I put him down. Yup. "Momma up. Moooommmmaa UPPPPPPPP." * Everyone says, "oh, but it's so worth it to see their little faces light up with joy."
