A few years ago MadaTobi week was approaching, so @louiserandom and I decided to do a collab for the week. I can't anymore remember the prompt that we based on our whole collab. I think it was domestic bliss or cuddling or something along the lines. But based on that prompt, we decided they would write a fic and I would draw a picture based on the fic. We made the whole outline of the fic and had actually a lot of fun when brainstorming for our collab.

I started my part of the collab, which was the artwork, but when I was middle of coloring the artwork, my drawing tablet broke down. The worst part was that there were only a few days left before the deadline. Luckily, I had originally made the sketch traditionally and even inked it, so all I had to do was color it traditionally and my part would be ready. Expect, the coloring turned awful and by that point, @louiserandom had already told me they couldn't complete their part of the collab, as they just didn't find the inspiration to write. In the end, I decided not to publish my artwork during that MadaTobi week, because I was very bummed out over how the artwork had turned out.

Even when I got a new drawing tablet, I still didn't feel like finishing my unfinished digital coloring of the artwork. Yet I still kept the artwork and over the years I started little by little coloring it, until I eventually finished it. I took my sweet time with it because there wasn't any more rush and I wanted to practice my digital coloring and using texture. Now the artwork is done, even though there are still parts that could be tinkered and sort of. Even so, I think it's time to finally publish this artwork to the world. It took a long time to complete it, but I'm still very proud of it and the fun memories related to it. ^^

First of all I’d just like to say thank you so much for wishing me a happy bday for like three years in a row you certainly don’t have to and yet YOU DO❤️

I’m being boring and just working today but am being spoiled with homemade samosas while watching the best and worst musical anime known to gods and men ‘Dance with Devil’ (the original not the English dub because I don’t hate myself) once I’m off so I know it’ll be wonderful!

Also got gifted tickets to see ChappellRoan this year and am going to see Il Trovatore this weekend. Riding high!

Nostalgic memory tag game!

List 3 or more nostalgic memonts/memories and, if you want, how/what you feel about them.

When I was like 11, my parents were driving us home from gym and it was really late, dark outside and I had Rihanna - Monster playing on my repeat on my half broken MP3 player. Felt like a movie scene in my mind.

I was like 12 and, again, in a car, heading home with my mother after we bought some boba. It was hot summer, we were heading directly into the sunset and Harry Styles - Watermelon sugar was playing on the radio. Felt like one of those instagram models "pretty-perfect" moments with old fuzzy filter on.

When I was like 7-8, waking up at 6 am for school, winter, with David Guetta - Titanium playing at my aunt's alarm (who used to live with us for a bit there) and it was still dark outside and I had extra time to watch some TV and it was all cozy (until I actually had to go)

five comfort characters, five tags

I was tagged by @srtruth here and @bleachbleachbleach here. (Linked so you can go read their answers!!!)

Thank you both! I'm historically bad at remembering to do these, so I appreciate you even tagging me lol.

To me, a comfort character is one I can fall back on when I want to write or read or see something familiar and do so consistently with that character. What Would Blorbo Do? I know exactly what they'd do and so it's easy to include them in things I write. In general, Blorbo Soup for the Soul, I guess lmao.

Mayuri Kurotsuchi. My favorite blorbo. His terrarium is costly, expansive, and in view at all times. He's so theatrical & contradictory, yet at his core there's this simplicity of what he wants to be and how he views himself. And I just don't get tired of it! Definitely a beetle undergoing reconstructive surgery to better fit it's aesthetics of evolution and choosing the life of a caterpillar instead. Dug his way out of the dirt and said 'that's not who I am, actually, I'll never be that again.'

Kenpachi Zaraki. Probably the oldest blorbo of this list, tbh. A verified onion. Huge angst potential, let alone the angst fulfilled in canon. He's like if Icarus made it and laughed the whole way there, even as the Sun started to do irreparable damage to his foresight and burned everyone who made it with him to ash. He's like if the Minotaur knew the way out the whole time but continued to wander because he was so, so scared to find out the sun and stars and the sea breeze wouldn't be everything he dreamed they'd be and if they were, that they'd disappear just as he was starting to realize how wonderful it all felt.

Retsu Unohana. Second oldest blorbo after Zaraki. I just really love that you can FEEL how much she wants to live as simply as Zaraki, but she genuinely can't. She's dedicated herself towards too much. She can't ever go back. She slammed that fridge door on herself with zero hesitation. Queen of being a two-faced bitch telling herself she's one missed meditation away from going back to hunting down worthwhile fights in the middle of nowhere, but really she's just going to make the 4th division a nightmare hospital visit for anyone who pisses her off too much that day.

Giselle Gewelle. One of the newest blorbos! I love that she's a simple character with such complicated baggage. What does she want? To live! How does she want to live? With her bffs! How is she going to do that? By turning everyone into hyper-dependent undead puppets who are forced into a symbiotic relationship with her the moment they cease to live, forced to feel the same pain of stagnation as her, forced to realize that their life was a gift and her being content to let them live was a gift, that she can bleed so easily and that she didn't for so long was a Gift. You know! Just girly things. <3

A tie between Akon & Nanao Ise. Newer blorbos, for sure. Fellow workaholics who can stay sane under insane conditions & highly unreasonable employers. The hyper competent duo whose squads are being held up by their ability to maintain a straight face toward their captains when most would quit in less than a week. Definitely average less than 10 days of PTO used a year. Not just blorbos, but comrades.

Ukitake + Christmas tree, please?

Please tell him quickly that a traditional xmas tree is a type of pine called an evergreen!

Versions of Japanese pine are used for bonsai and we er... all know how great he is at bonsai....

Once you introduce him to this idea though he is allll for it! 

Some might call the Christmas tree gaudy by the time you both are done but you certainly can’t say it doesn’t remind everyone of Christmas.

It’s got flashing lights, sparkling ornaments crammed on every branch. Ukitake had special ornaments made of your zanpakutou and when/if you have kids he’ll get an ornament commissioned for them for their 1st xmas.

You end up with multiple trees as time goes on. One in his office. one at home, one for when he’s resting, a tiny little one to go on his desk.

It’s kind of crazy but it makes him happy and it’s really funny and adorable.

For the first ask game: Ukitake, please?

My favourite thing about them: This is more on the personal side but I love that he’s a successful chronically ill character. I became chronically ill when I was 14 and it was super hard, suddenly I started really struggling with grades, couldn’t really even socialise because I didn’t have the energy, then struggled with mental illness as a result etc. Having a character who has chronic health issues but is also a well loved and capable captain was honestly just very helpful to have. Especially as he’s never chastised for being ill or anything like that, no one judges him for resting when he needs to rest and he’s super respected by soul society in general. Plus despite having difficult health issues he’s still absolutely lovely, he’s not bitter and doesn’t get hung up over it, he just more or less takes it into his stride and is generally optimistic. It made him a very good role model for me! 

My least favourite thing about them: Honestly the first thing that came to mind was that he died lmao I refuse to accept it he’s still alive in my heart! On a more serious note though this may be a cultural difference thing or something but it’s baffling to me that the man basically just let Kaien throw his life away to the hollow that killed his wife. I understand that he said Kaien was fighting for honour, but personally I don’t really think that it’s worth someone’s life.

Random headcanon: I’m almost certain I’m not the first person who’s said this but with him being as lovely as he is, and him living as long as he has there’s no way he hasn’t been married (possibly with children and everything) in the past. Possibly more than once too. But I imagine with him living as long as he has (which I personally assume is to do with reiatsu, more reiatsu = living longer/aging slower) he also unfortunately had to watch them grow old and eventually die. I reckon he married at least once, maybe twice, but not more than that because he realised he wouldn’t be able to go through that process repeatedly.

Who I wished they interacted more with: Children in general like my dude clearly loved them. In particular I think it would’ve been adorable and hilarious if he had met the Kurosaki twins (like if they had actually used those travel ticket thingamajigs Kyoraku gave them or something?) You just know he’d straight up spoil them :’)

Something I would’ve liked to see of them: I would’ve liked seeing him in the human world! I imagine he’d be interested in experiencing it first hand, especially as it changes so quickly these days, so it would be a completely different experience for him which would’ve been fun to see.

Sorry this took me so long! Things got a little crazy for me! Hope it’s worth the wait :D (from this list)

There wasn’t much that could take Hashirama by surprise, or at least he liked to think so. There were very few who could just grin and laugh off whatever unfortunate thing happened them, and Hashirama counted that as a compliment regardless of how many Tobirama told him it just made him look like a moron. That being said, if anyone could surprise him, it was Mito; he was still convinced she was secretly a goddess mistakenly sent to him because of his moniker.

“Husband?” The voice of 1000 angels singing questions, drawing Hashirama back from his mental reprieve.

“Mito!” He exclaims, practically leaping from behind his desk in his eagerness to hug his wife. “You never show up early!”

“Early?” Mito repeats and her unimpressed tone as she stares at the mound of paperwork on his desk freezes him in his tracks and has him fidgeting like a child caught with his hand in the cookie jar. “Husband, it’s lunch time.”

“Already?” Hashirama tries weakly, “I was so caught up in my paperwork I didn’t realize so much time had passed.”

A tiny frown mars Mito’s flawless face and, even knowing it means he’s about to be scolded, Hashirama can’t help but stare. Mito was probably the only person he knew who could look so unbelievable beautiful while also making him regret putting such a look on her face. Sure enough, Hashirama gets a lecture his mother would be proud of, or he assumes he does. Honestly, he’d just been staring at Mito’s mouth, she’d used a new shade of red today, remembering the soft, sleepy smile he’d gotten this morning. It wasn’t often he awoke before his wife so it had been a rare treat and he just couldn’t get it out of his mind. Just the thought of how perfect Mito looked, still tousled with sleep, has Hashirama pulling the still annoyed woman into his arms and pressing a gentle kiss to her temple.

“Husband?” Mito mutters a few moments later when Hashirama’s lips linger.

“You look beautiful,” he mummers against her soft skin before he reluctantly pulls away to stare into his wife’s eyes, confusion, annoyance, and a hint of concern all fighting for a spot in those dark orbs he loved so much.

“Did something happened Dear?” Mito asks, raising a delicate eyebrow in confusion as she presses a hand to Hashirama’s forehead, wondering if he’s coming down with something.

“I woke up before you.”

“And?”

“And you had the most adorable, sleepy smile on your face!” Hashirama’s grin, coupled with his genuine enthusiasm has heat rising to Mito’s face and Hashirama knows that this once in a lifetime occurrence will hold his thoughts captive for days to come.

“Have you been thinking about that all morning?” Mito finally asks and Hashirama just nods, giving her the impression of a puppy. Shaking away the blush with a sigh, Mito lightly whacks her husband on his chest. “I’m going to make you sleep on the couch if that’s what it takes for you to get your work done.”

“Noooo!!!!” Hashirama whines, quickly following after Mito when all she does is chuckle and leave his office.
