Making phonics fun! I’d be lying if I said trying to keep them energised and motivated to work whilst at home was easy. But, mixing things up and setting up little challenges like this, rather than trying to force them to sit down and sit still, has certainly made things a lot easier for me! They had to search for the letters in each word on their sound button cards. Holly is focussing on the sound ‘S’ and Charlie on ‘Oi’. They then had to sound the word out, blend the sounds to read the word and finally tell me a sentence with it in. We played ice cream using shaving cream. They played in it for quite a while and then washed all dishes, plates and scoops in buckets afterwards. Great activity! #tufftray #tufftrayactivities #tufftrayideas (at Spokane Valley)
