Just in, a rare Swiss #modernist #bauhaus chair by Bigla . This #cantileverchair has adjustable seating position with the seat moving forwards and the backrest reclining, each locking in place thanks to the integral pegs. The seat and backrest adjust independently thanks to the hinged construction. This is really quite an advanced design dating to the late 20’s - late 30’s. This chair, identified as model R363/R1204 is attributed to Werner Max Moser. The armrests have been replaced sympathetically with #bentply , the originals probably being in Bakelite and the cushions are quite recent replacements. Very sound, the chair is in good condition. An unusual and, as yet I identified tubular steel chair, much chrome gone in a few places . The arm section is not joined to the backrest, it’s just really close. Any help in identifying this one would be most welcome! I do like the overall form, and those knobs at the end of each tube, and as feet are quite different.
