why do we consider season 1, episode 2 the “gay panic episode??” as far as im concerned, every episode of season 1 is the gay panic episode. every scene with rupert in it is the gay panic scene. any time rupert opens his mouth, it’s gay panic. rupert is Gay and panicking all the time. thakn u for coming to my ted talk

You know, I have this writing theory that can be quite common in love/hate relationships in books, especially fantasy books. Fight fire with fire:
So hear me out, we all know that in the end of season 1 of The Two Princes, Rupert and Amir have to fight each other according to their
fathers and what they think the prophecy meant. And Rupert didn’t want this to happen, but on Amir’s side, he was prepared for this day.
And what I mean by fighting fire with fire, is that, remember when they had this argument right after the dive and Rupert and Porridge
found themselves with Arachnea? (I don’t remember their name) So if Amir didn’t save them, they would’ve been goners. But didn’t Amir
say he had to kill Rupert in order to rule? Rupert almost died, which actually shows how much Amir cares about him. So what I meant was,
Amir who “had” to kill Rupert against Rupert getting eaten by Arachnea. And then Amir partly covered it up by saying he had to kill him
himself, as it wasn’t a lie, but not a complete truth either. It also depends on the characters and what the author wants, other characters would have abandoned trying to kill him, while
some, like Amir, would still feel as if they didn’t have a choice. But at least that makes the love interest realize how much they care for the
MC. I personally find that method quite interesting and find it in some other books so I thought why not talk about it. And after all, everything relies
on the author’s desires.
I’d like to hear your thoughts about it. Do you think that this tactic is necessary and would add more to the story? Or do you think it isn’t logical and completely off reality?
