*waking up in a cold sweat in the middle of a night* Oh my fucking god. The Boy in the Ice is my answer to "Those Who Walk Away from Omelas"
#its a story that at its core is about confronting the truth#that society is built on the back of exploitation#a lot of “fix its” for that fic essentially dodge the whole exploitation bit#but to take away the exploitation would dismantle the story entirely#its not about “hey heres how we can avoid exploitation”#the exploitation is here - we cannot remove it without dismantling life as we know it#if you remove it#it will not be bloodless#and how does one reconcile with living in such a world#tsuna is the boy at the heart of omelas
