Why communicate to your empathetic s/o(a) that you feel misunderstood by their actually reasonable comments about the Underworld (they have never seen anything like it before) when you could just continue to marinate in the self isolation and violent anger in your silly little mind until you inevitably lash out at the person you love which makes you feel even worse !! Nico is spiraling in this book and I am spiraling irl and I think he is so very Real for that

After reading the flashback of what happened to Nico the first time he went to Tartarus it should be easy to understand why his character seems to be different then in HOO. bro was reduced to whimpering (/gen) no one’s going to be normal for a while after that, hence him seeming more open and agreeable in tsats compared to the months following him getting broken out of a fucking jar starved half to death and reckoning with what he experienced.

Just finished Chapter 18 of The Sun and the Star

I'll be vague so I don't spoil it for anyone, but I absolutely love this book so far! The descriptions are so vivid and immersive! I felt like I was actually in the book.

A couple dream sequences/altered conscious episodes take place in the book, and the PAGES CHANGE COLORS!!!!!

I absolutely adore when media changes stylistically when showing altered states of mind or flashbacks. Not only does it make it much easier to tell when a dream or something is over. It also make reading so much more immersive. It makes characters' dreams more dreamlike, and it makes flashbacks much more dramatic.
