Hello!
I’m so excited to finally share this mod with you all! When Realm of Magic was announced and we knew we were getting some variation of witches and magic, I knew I would be creating this lifestate. So, from the cult 90s show, Charmed, I give you my own sims version of Whitelighters!
Whitelighters are the protectors, guides, and magical healers of the world. They are able to adopt humans, as well as any occult creatures, as their “Charges” to protect and watch over. Once the Whitelighter-Charge bond is formed, a number of interactions and abilities are unlocked!
Let’s break down all the aspects of this mod~
Becoming a Whitelighter
The Elder Crystal is a special object found in Buy Mode. It’s a source of magic energy that allows you to summon the Elders, a group of powerful and experienced Whitelighters that are able to grant their powers to certain humans. If they are summoned and they trust your human sim enough, the Elders will allow them to become a Whitelighter too! Alternatively, if you aren’t looking to become one of them, you can also request to be assigned a Whitelighter who will become your protector.
*Before you can be assigned a Whitelighter, there has to be at least one placed somewhere in the world, so you will need to create one first or add one with cheats.
A Whitelighter’s ability to protect is dependent on their Guardian skill. This is a small 5 level skill that is based on the ranks similar to Vampires and Spellcasters. It is a fairly easy skill to progress and provides extra powers.
Level 1: Protector
Healing - Whitelighters are able to heal their Charges of any ailments, or injuries if you have the Extreme Violence Mod, and cure their Charge of certain curses if they are a Spellcaster. This also includes sicknesses, injuries, and curses from other packs as well.
Orbing - Orbing is the ability to teleport from one place to another in the form of bright blue light. All Whitelighters can orb and can also orb with their Charges if they are close enough! Charges can also call for their Whitelighter and they will orb to their side no matter the time of day.
Summon Elders - Whitelighters can summon a few Elder sims to their lot for a chat or to resign from their responsibilities if they wish. These Elders can also grant more powers to Whitelighters who are skilled enough.
Whitelighters have a variety of social interactions with their Charges such as “Offer Life Advice” and “Lecture About the Greater Good”. Also, if the Charge is a Vampire or some other occult, they will have some special interactions as well.
Level 2: Healer
Heal Plant - If a plant has withered and died, a Whitelighter at this level can revive it back to health.
Restore Object - The ability to heal is also extended to inanimate objects! If an object is broken, Whitelighters at this level can restore it back to perfection.
Level 3: Watcher
Power Training - If a Charge is a Vampire, Sea Witch, or Spellcaster, they will be able to train with their Whitelighter. This will build Vampire XP, Sea Sorcery skill, and Spellcaster XP, respectively.
Magical Boost - If their Charge is a Spellcaster and practicing magic or dueling another Spellcaster, a Whitelighter will be able to boost them. This reduces the Spellcaster’s charge need, protects them from overcharging, and gives them a focused buff!
Level 4: Savior
Reviving Burst - If a sim has died, a Whitelighter at this level can release a powerful blast of healing energy that will force the Grim Reaper to bring them back to life. Beware, however, as a revived sim can sometimes acquire a certain… darkness… from being brought back to life.
Level 5: Guardian Angel
Become an Elder - Once Whitelighters max out the Guardian skill, they are able to be initiated as an Elder if they choose. All they need to do is summon the Elders and ask to be initiated. This will unlock more powers and reduce their Magic Energy dependency!
The Elders
Becoming an Elder has several benefits, including the ability to grant or strip away Whitelighter Powers, conserve Magic Energy much easier, wear ceremonial robes that keep it fully charged, as well as immortality! And as an Elder, you can still protect charges and use all the powers of a Whitelighter.
Shadow Demons
Shadow Demons are sims that have been brought back from the dead with the Reviving Burst, but were overtaken by darkness and turned evil. These creatures are able to take the form of a dark cloud of smoke to torment others and infect them with darkness, while being completely immune to death in this form. They can apparate, which is their equivalent to a Whitelighter’s orbing power, and they are immortal. Anyone except for Whitelighters and Elders can become a Shadow Demon, including all occult types.
***While in their Shadow Form, these sims will only be clickable from a small texture that can be seen from below or while they are sitting in a chair. It is fairly easy to find this spot if your camera is at floor-level. This is the only way to open the pie menu to change back to demon form!

That’s all for now, but just like my other mods, I have more plans for this and I have some other features that will be added at a later date. Let me know what you all think of this and I’ll consider any suggestions for improvements or features! :)
This mod uses only XML tuning and shouldn’t conflict with any other mods!

Tech Support, Please
Queenee was writing reports for her “day” job when her computer crashed. She called the tech support at SimNerd Squad to send someone out and they sent Hazel.
Queenee: Thanks so much! You fixed that in record time. The guys that usually come out seem so clueless and like to flirt during the whole appointment.
Hazel: Right. Thankfully they sent me. Umm..do you mind if I use your rest room before I leave?
Queenee: Sure. It’s this way.
Before Hazel could head in that direction, she heard a familiar voice and did her best to remain stoic.

06/15/2021 Mods Update
Hey all! I’ve updated the Whitelighter and Fairies vs. Witches mods with some fixes and additions. They are as follows:
- The spell learning interactions have been fixed. I accidentally used the reading animations from the Parenthood journal object, so anyone without the Parenthood pack couldn’t learn spells. This should be fixed now.
- The Fairy Experience orb in the needs panel will always be present for fairies, rather than only when channeling fairy magic. I think this makes more sense and worked better in my own gameplay testing.
- Changes have been made to the Magic Mentoring interactions to improve skill and XP gains.
- Whitelighters now have the option to train Fairies and Witches who they’ve promised to protect. Likewise, Fairies and Witches can request training from them.
- The Whitelighter/Charge relationship has been fixed so hopefully it will not be removed randomly.
