Although this eccentric home has gone through its fair share of owners over the years (and has been on the market for quite some time), it's optimal location at the center of Glimmerbrook cannot be overlooked. Ignore the rattling floorboards, inexplainable apparitions, and ghoulish sounds in the night - that's all part of the charm of owning a historic home in its original glory. We can basically guarantee you're going to be fine… probably!

This haunted house build is technically a part of my “Rebuilding Glimmerbrook” series, but I plan to make a second option at this location for those of you who might not have the Paranormal Stuff pack. I figured I would still include it in this series though as I (1) spent a ton of time on it and (2) was making it for one of my newer OCs* anyway. I hope you guys like it! ❤️

*For those curious, the OC in question is a fashionable, creative, untamed wizard who grew up in Tomarang. He was raised by his immortal witch aunt who loves a little mischief and dark magic. He hunts dangerous occults, is a talented psychic medium, and is generally an overall menace in the eyes of the magical sage council.

This lot is completely CC free and fully decorated. It is listed as a "Haunted House Residential" lot type and has two lot traits: private dwelling and peace and quiet. It also has one lot challenge trait: spooky. There's one unfurnished room upstairs that has direct access to the upstairs bathroom. Additionally, the room currently functioning as a walk-in-closet off the master bathroom could easily be converted into a bedroom as well, so that's why I would consider this a 3 bedroom house! (Little added bonus that the layout was done in a way that makes it easy to give the walk-in-closet access to the upstairs bathroom - making it a "Jack-and-Jill" style bathroom - in the case that you wanted to make the closet an additional bedroom!)

I made this build for personal use, so it admittedly utilizes a lot more packs than I would normally prefer for this kind of series, so I included an unfurnished version as well! But, again, I do plan to upload an alternative option in the near future to place on this lot for those of you who aren't into the haunted house concept or simply don't have the Paranormal pack!

This decaying Victorian mansion has been occupied by the same cursed bloodline for over a century, haunted by their own inexorable fall from grace—and fortune—with the passing of each generation.

The manor bears the wounds of their torment: its once grand exterior crumbling under the slow encroachment of vines; foul mold and mildew crawling up the walls from uncountable damp winter nights with the heat left off; copper pipes and wiring ripped from its walls; family heirlooms vanishing into the obsidian veil of the night.

Sometimes the most chilling hauntings aren't abandoned at all.

Phantom Manor - Disneyland Paris

A recreation of Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris, functional as a haunted house residential. Be welcomed into the foyer by the phantom himself before visiting Melanie Ravenswood dressed for her wedding but trapped within in her own bedroom. I built this lot in Strangerville as it was a perfect backdrop for the Thunder Mesa and Big Thunder railroad. Perhaps your Sims can break the curse of the Thunderbird and survive this haunted abode.

Hello all! My second build, the famous Borley Rectory, is now available!

This is probably my favourite build, and with Spooky Season pretty much here, I thought it would be the perfect time to share!

For those of you who don't know, Borley Rectory was once known as the most haunted house in England. A quick Google search will tell you more. In fact, Borley was so famous that the creators of Silent Hill 3 named the haunted house in the Lakeside Amusement Park after it! Sadly, Borley is no longer in existence, as it burned down in the 1940's and the remains were demolished. I have painstakingly attempted to recreate Borley from the original floor plans drawn up by Paranormal investigators. A few changes had to be made as we all know the Sims 4 has several building constraints. I have scantly furnished it, and also set the lot type as a "fixer-upper" and "haunted house residential". The house is liveable, but definitely in need of some TLC! I built this lot on '14 Nettle Lane' in Henford-on-Bagley, and I think it looks best here. I used some amazing CC by the likes of @irinaseverinka @sims4luxury @onyxsims @peacemaker-ic @lilis-palace @syboubou @mimoto-sims and a few more.

🌳 Curious Tree 🐦

-An artificial planet shared with trees-

The curious tree was dying to broaden knowledge, and he grew impatient to staying in the ground where his roots were deeply anchored. Eventually, He asked an artificial planet grower to plant the "Seed" in him body. It have been many years since then... "Birds of a feather flock together." He became a nest of curious persons and was filled with the books they brought in. Today, too, He is slowly moving through the sky, broaden his knowledge.

Once this house belonged to a family of magicians, who, by the way, left only memories and maybe some things from themselves. Investigate the secrets and horrors of this spooky mansion. But beware of the family cemetery, because who knows what kind of ghosts live here... 👻

Unique property with endless potential. This old-fashioned farmhouse is a fixer-upper’s dream with great bones, breathtaking views, and original hardwoods throughout. Definitely not haunted—nor infested with any other kind of pest. That smell will come out, we swear.

Blackmier House

Blackmier house was once a grand estate home to the Granville family for over 300 years. It was built in 1665 for John Granville, part of the court to Charles II, and it grew into a happy place for all those that lived there until 1880. Since then it has been uninhabitable as everyone who steps foot in the place has had an uneasy and unwelcome feeling - some even reporting to feel a deep sadness and overwhelming anger. On particularly foggy nights in the autumn some have reported spotting a figure staring out of the window as if waiting for someone.

Lady Anne Granville was wife to Lord Thomas Granville, the 5th Earl and heir to the estate. Thomas was away from the house a lot which didn’t help his terminal jealousy. Anne was a beautiful woman and that was her crime: being noticeable. Because of this she had many rumours spread about her. One rumour was that she had taken a lover in her husbands absence and it was suggested it was one of the household staff. This rumour circulated until it got back to Thomas himself - driven mad with anger he returned to the estate to confront his wife. Anne denied the claims (of course she was innocent of all accusations and was a victim of gossip) but her husband did not believe her. He locked her in the high tower and had the stairs removed so she could not leave. She was chained to the wall with little room and no food or water. All portraits of Anne were damaged or removed.

Staff had begun to question the lady’s disappearance, especially as wailing and banging could be heard near the front of the house. One day a maid spotted Anne’s necklace hanging off of a bush underneath the tower - looking up she saw a hole was in one of the windows. Confirming her suspicions she contacted the law and they investigated Blackmier house and discovered Lady Anne Granville’s decayed body up in the tower. Thomas Granville was stripped of his title and imprisoned, the house has not been habited since. The fate of Anne’s “lover” is unknown.

Any visitors to Blackmier house have reported seeing a white lady, she appears looking out of the window at the front of the house. She has also been spotted in the upstairs bedrooms, appearing behind people as they look in the mirror. The sound of ghostly piano can be heard from the downstairs music room and when investigated a figure of a woman playing is seen before she slowly fades away.

Probably the most prominent phenomenon is the smell of rotting flesh and crying which can be smelt and heard directly underneath the large tower that stands looming over the estate.

People have also reported feeling trapped and angry at others for no reason.

A tragic story awaits all those that delve into the history of Blackmier house. Are your Sims brave enough to uncover the mystery and restore this place to its former glory?

Also please note I’m not actually basing this on John Granville’s actual family estate in Cornwall, that would be Stowe House which was knocked down. This is a fabrication and based on the tale of Lady de Clare of West Orchard Castle in St Athan, Wales. House is loosely based on Eelmarsh house from the Woman in Black.

Cherrypond Manor  - CC free Haunted House

Built in 1712, Cherrypond Manor was home to one of the most prolific families in Windenburg. Despite warnings from locals (who are convinced that the cliff-laden forests that surround the property are home to something sinister), Lord and Lady Northcott designed and built their dream estate from the ground up. And it was a dream - that is, until all six members of the family, as well as the nanny and the maid, disappeared one by one.

Though it has changed hands many times since, Cherrypond Manor seems unable to find a family willing to make the estate their “forever home”. Perhaps it’s the eerily out-of-date decor, or the horrible sounds the house makes at night. It’s just an old house settling on its foundations.

Francesca moved out.

She didn't tell her sister until all the plans were already in place, knowing Valentina would protest. She, Stephon, and Gemma moved into a haunted house on Dead Grass Isle in Brindleton Bay. The property belongs to the Charm family. Francesca brought Citrus, Pixie, and Sunshine with her. Gemma brought her mare Dandelion.

So far, the extent of their supernatural experiences amount to Francesca exploring the haunted pet cemetery and Stephon trying to communicate with some playful specters. However, Minerva Charm warned them that there are darker spirits that visit the island.
