oh yeah i played ts2psp last night specifically with the intent of wrangling all the circe dialogue that i could out of it and i only saw one thing that was actually new to me. if you select the first option on that dialogue prompt (aka the option i'm not hovering over. this is not the most effective series of still images in terms of conveying what i'm actually doing but you get it) she says this. not revolutionarily fascinating or anything but still ! fucka my life !

i'm having trouble finding any information on TA7 - what is it that's available in the files?

There's possibly more, since I haven't checked every single file, but I'll share what I have because gatekeeping = booo 🍅

Who's TA7?

In short, a third ghost that would haunt the Espiritu Estate in TS2PSP. His full name is Transit Administrator #7, and he is PT9's alien friend who gave him the picture book with his first family.

What can we find out through the script?

His character/object info (appearance + description)

Dialogues from other characters that talk about him.

First of all, Emily Emory introduces TA7 to us by unused dialogue. His ghost would be in the player's bedroom.

I tried to make it as readable as possible. The text in grey is that of the player and the underlined in yellow is what is important, in case you are too lazy to read it all :)

I removed a part where Emily and the player talk about roommates, which is completely unrelated. Still, it feels like there's missing dialogue. And that is because there is! In a separate file, Emily Emory tells us more about him:

Having these conversations would unlock a secret named 'Ghostly Secret'. Its description reads: "Soldiers at Division 47 brought down an alien spacecraft and its pilot!"

TA7's remains would be found on an operation table. The interaction would be 'Pick up Dead Alien' and you'd recieve 'Alien Remains', a not-sellable item with a description that reads: "Eww. The totally gross remains of a dead alien starship pilot."

Into his character file

Strangely, his character is named 'Alien Ghost' & 'Transit Admin #7' (in separate files) not TA7 or his full name. But a similar thing happens with PT9: in the code, he is referenced as PT9 and Polytech, but his character is actually named 'Mister Smith'.

Atributes

social = -1, intimidation = -1, personality = 0,

These are also the same as Dennis Philips, Nervous Subject, the Night Beast, Beelzebeef, Tycho Curious, and every zombie.

The social and intimidation parameters determine how easy it is to chat or intimidate NPCs, and the personality parameter tells us that he would have a Fire personality. However, it might be more plausible that 0 (Fire) is the default personality.

Interests

His interests are alien, dresses, makeup, and birdbee (the latter is a generic interest). Here's a visual of those topics:

Appearance

He is an adult male alien (at least he has the alien skintone), he is bald, has the alien face archetype, wears white briefs, and ambodynaked-nude-autopsy-s5, whatever that is.

Lincoln Broadsheed and Tank Grunt would've bought his secret for a better price than usual. On the contrary, Hoot Howell wouldn't be interested in it.

I could not find unused dialogue about PT9 talking about TA7, there is only what already appears in the game:

"Alien … FRIEND … came … to … give … me … PICTURE book." "And … humans … TAKE … PICTURE book." "HUMANS … SHOOT … HIM … DOWN … AND … TAKE … HIM … AWAY!"

3. Not only is it the first time that funeral traditions are talked about, but it also mentions alien autopsies, which were also present in TS2 for Nintendo DS!!

In that game, thanks to the metal detector, you could find mummified aliens in the desert (which gives us another clue to alien funerary traditions). They could be dissected in the laboratory of the hotel's basement, and their organs could be sold, which are very highly valued.

Character biographies? Well, i got inspired by the ts2psp with secrets and now it looks like this:

Wow, this place is much bigger than a cramped cabin on a fishing boat, although my cousins went overboard with the nautical theme heh. I need to thank them for their kindness, I wonder if this town has a fishing pond? Maybe that cute diva in the overalls can give me a clue?

(Interesting) Ferdie's full name is Ferdinand Gustav Gloucester. But he's not particularly comfortable with such formalities

(Personal) To everyone's surprise. Ferdy has quietly survived the death of his parents, which is suspicious. But the truth is, if you spend half your life hearing tales that the ocean is a dangerous and deadly place, you can build up an immunity

(Dark) Ferdie spent half his life on a boat helping his dad and mom fish. So he has no idea how to socialize with his peers.

(Bonus) Until his parents died in a shipwreck, Ferdie had no idea his uncle and cousins existed

i need to share one Johnny Smith thought and get it out of my system because i can't stop thinking about it for two days already.

for some reason i remembered Johnny as a positive and lovable guy, probably because i myself was very young and positive back when sims 2 were just released, and paid less attention to underlying problems that weren't voiced too openly.

but now that i think about him, he's not as nice and cheerful as i used to think, and he's actually pretty bitter, has a lot of resentment and can be really snarky, especially when offered an unsolicited unhelpful life advice (like "just be yourself and everyone will like you" when he's well aware that he's disliked precisely for being himself, and also the person saying this has zero problem being accepted by anyone). i also think that he often cracks jokes when asked about his green skin and alien heritage, but those can be funny or really acerbic, depending on the context and who's asking.

he was smaller than others as a kid and was bullied at school (ts2psp). he often wants to pick up fights first (ts2 gameplay). he says that his life "went downhill" from the moment of his birth because of the way he looked (ts2psp, and he uses rather self depreciating description), and if saying that your life went downhill when you were born isn't bitter, then i don't know what is. he's more outgoing than shy as a teenager in ts2, but in ts2psp he's described as "restless and angsty".

at first i thought that he's become restless and angsty after he and his family were forcibly moved to Division 47 (top secret military research facility where they experiment on alien stuff, including Tycho) by Grunts, he hated it there and wasn't free to leave so i thought his personality changed because of that trauma of basically being a captive (ts2psp). but now i think that he was always restless and angsty, and now he just doesn't have the reason or energy to mask it because he doesn't have his friends around who liked him for him and who he was more relaxed around.

his personal bio in ts2 says that he wants to be a hero. i think he wants to be a hero because they come in all shapes and colors in comic books and movies and everyone loves them nonetheless. he wanted to be a hero, he wanted to burst in and save the day so everyone would accept and celebrate him. instead, he got a lesson on helplessness and dependency, and couldn't even save himself (he needed MC's help to get out of Division 47).

yeah, i'm sorry if it was all over the place. i just decided to bring my Strangetown into sims 4 and fell into the rabbit hole. i don't even know how to tag it.

I have been playing a bit with my recreated Deadtree town, taking pictures 😊

Annie and Hoot Howell in the Nighhowl Saloon 😊 I think the recreation is pretty nice ! I try to hide details in my builds (like here the claws marks near the girls toilet door). I didn’t made the sims (just changed the outfit), but I can’t find the gallery ID I downloaded it from…

On the second picture you can see Annie in the workshop room close to the church, ready for some craft ! It’s not canon, but I imagine her trying to deal with her anger issue through wood crafting.

oh, that's a GREAT question anon! okay so like. right off the bat gonna say that i think that ts2 tank and ts4 tank - being from two different timelines and all - express affection differently.

i think, ironically despite his mothers ghost hanging around, ts4 tank had a more normal and healthier upbringing so he's probably way more forthcoming about his emotions. like - he's never been punished for being himself or expressing himself, lyla cut buzz off every time before he could ever try, so tank doesn't feel ashamed of parts of himself that might not line up with buzz's expectations for him. so i think he's able to express himself better than ts2 tank - he's more likely to offer words of affirmation and initiate positive physical affection.

ts2 tank is a little more ... reserved in comparison. i mean... (gesturing at tank and buzz's secrets in ts2psp) so... tank doesn't have the best frame of reference for expressing himself or his affection in ways that don't just mirror buzz or conform to his ideals. so i think most of his affection is communicated ... wordlessly? not that he doesnt or can't express verbally, it's just that a lot of the time he struggles. so he probably leans towards acts of service or gifts. he probably starts initiating positive physical affection more by the time of ts2gba, but still primarily expresses through acts of service and gifts.

HAZEL HAIR || NEWLOW TOP

HAZEL HAIR - Inspired by Hazel Dente from The Sims 2 PSP. It’s the perfect hairstyle for when you just killed your husband and are running away with the money. - There was a hair from Cottage Living that I saw and I was like... “this is Almost Perfect for Hazel Dente!” but it wasn’t like, perfect, perfect, so lots of mesh-editing later and we got this hair. I’m sure there’s an actual name for this hairstyle (it reminds me a lot of my grandmother), but I don’t know what it is. - All 24 EA swatches + bonus addons from my unreleased hair color palette. I forgot how many swatches it is, but it’s mostly some more naturals + unnaturals (like a true white). - All Lods + Hat Chops - Made with the feminine frame, but from what I can tell, it works on masculine frames too. - Also, this is one of those hairs that are like, super picky about the eyebrow ridge. Sorry!

DOMINIC TOP - Inspired by Doctor Dominic Newlow from the Sims 2 PSP. Been on a kick with him lately, even if I originally made this four months ago. - I have no clue why I made this actually. Turtleneck blazers are not in short supply in this community, really. This was fun to make though. - 30 swatches in various colors that I found by looking up “blazer with turtleneck,” alongside with other colors that may work for some other spinoff sims. - Not frame-restricted, but definitely made for masculine frames and not feminine frames. - It’s the combination of some base game blazer and Cats & Dogs turtleneck. I have also included a recolor of the Cats & Dogs turtleneck (requires... cats & dogs) that is specifically made for Sims 4 Doctor Dominic Newlow from the Sims 2 PSP sims.

i think quite literally the only piece of solid evidence for the standard normie take that the beakers adopted nervous is that circe and loki remember him 'moving in' as a child, and at such an age those memories may indeed imply that the whole moving in situation involved some manner of adoption but they just don't recognise each other as family because they don't like each other. however nervous—as in the actual playable nervous—was created MUCH more recently than either of his housemates which in all likelihood means his memories are more reflective of the devs final intentions, and thus i'm more willing to hear out his take on things. he remembers moving in as a teenager, which lines up far better with ts2psp's explicit confirmation (if we're taking emily's word on it which one would assume the writers wanted us to) that he actually moved in willingly and signed a contract and shit. like i could believe a 16 yr old little freak living on the streets or in a failing foster system or whatever being willing and somewhat able to sign such a contact far more than i could believe a 10 yr old mohawked dickensian street urchin doing so, not even taking into account how the latter scenario would line up with circe and loki's ages, or rather, wouldn't. personally my take on nervous subject is that he's just a vulnerable young man who's down on his luck and frankly too unwell to live on his own or look after himself or work a traditional job or anything like that so living in some freaky couple's basement seems like a sweet deal to him, even if it sucks and ultimately leads to his death. feels good to not be explicitly contradicted by the text!
