i mean....i assume you want said orphan to be adopted by y/n and the toys.

as cute as it would be, there are people probably actively looking for this kid, and depending on how old they are, adapting to living with giant toys would not be easy. imagine trying to tell a child that they can't tell anybody about the fact that their new family is a group of bioengineered medical experiments (or even just the idea of large sentient toys). and the fact that the house is already full, and the nearest town is an hour away...there are too many variables. the cabin crew is nowhere near stable enough to care for a kid who knows nothing about them (which is why ollie is probably the only kid who could ever reasonably stay with them; he's in it with them).

dogday realizes this situation isn't ideal, and likely tells y/n immediately. so, at the very least, they can call some sort of local authority or actually take the child to the police station so that they can attempt to find their family. im imagining a situation where the kid does at least have a foster situation to go back to, and the wild stories they'd tell about the nice stranger who found them and their wonderfully strange family.
