gestalt consciousnesses in stellaris are the best empires to play not only because they make me win every time but because, consistently, if there is another hivemind or machine intelligence in the galaxy they will end up being gay for me

#stellaris #specifically when im trying to be evil which is fun.#trying to become the crisis? my hivemind neighbor who has been bullied nearly to death begs me to vassalize and later integrate them #and suddenly my hivemind is two core minds intstead of one. gay asf.#my newest driven assimilator game? i find another gestalt consciousness and immediately try and make friends because my pacifist neighbors #with their hegemonic imperialist vassal hugging my borders #will only tolerate me for so long #fast forward a hundred years or so the war the other robot waged against them went badly and they ask me to vassalize them #they start outpacing me economically because im shit at the game but because theyre my vassal im firmly in the victory margin #and they love me too much to ask to 'become independant' because my vassal terms for them were basically 'do whatever lol'#now their expansion is biting them in the ass since theyre having rebellions and now i have to actually do my job protecting them #i look at the splintered territories and how im claiming them and i realize that im fully intending on giving the systems back #if i did somehow end up with them in my possession #not very assimilator of me but. i cannot help it they love me i cant betray them like that 😔😔😔
