November 1st, 2024 Brugmansias are close relatives of the daturas and are extremely poisonous if ingested in large quantities. While daturas are sometimes known as "devil's trumpets", brugmansias often carry the common name of "angel's trumpet." They've been used in various traditional ritual practices (particularly in the north Andes), but every part of them is basically really bad for you – definitely not something for anyone to experiment with.

Plant of the Day
Wednesday 25 October 2023
The non-hardy/tender shrub Brugmansia suaveolens (angel's trumpet, datura) has trumpet-shaped flowers in summer and autumn. These flowers have a wonderful night-scent.

Cladonia fimbriata or the trumpet cup lichen is a species cup lichen belonging to the family Cladoniaceae. Since 1995 it’s been on the endangered plant list. Very happy to see it thriving in my garden.

hey if ur in the midwest or more specifically missouri here’s some websites i’ve found helpful for finding native seeds and live plants (they’re not all in missouri or the midwest specifically but have some seeds from around here too bc truly human made borders are fake and plants go wherever they want so):
wildseedproject.net
mowildflowers (this websites cool bc they’ll deliver live plants to you if you live nearby enough and they also go to different places around missouri all year to sell plants at festivals or events or whatnot)
nativewildflowers.net
swallowtailgardenseeds.com
strictlymedicinalseeds.com
toadshade.com
treeseeds.com
ouriquesfarm.com
putnamhillnursury.com
sugarcreekgardens.com
prairiemoon.com
seedvilleusa.com (also on etsy)
mybutterflylady on etsy
everwilde.com
and if u ever need help or info or whatever about plants or even find a place to exchange plants and buy some on a forum check out dave’s garden
if anyone knows any other websites and wants to add them on i’d totally appreciate that c: !
(i will update this with more websites too if i come across any)

The angel’s trumpet and it’s lore -- these are the dark variant and curiosities prints from my April herbologist rewards 🌟🌛 I drew this one to match last month’s plant, as they poetically go together: the angel’s trumpet and the devil’s trumpet ✨
