Unveiling the Fastest eSIM for Travel & Live Streaming in Thailand: It's Not Who You Think!

Thailand's Fastest eSIM or SIM For Travel or Live Streaming: AIS eSIM Takes the Crown
My Thailand and Dubai trip is coming up shortly. As a content creator, staying connected with a reliable and fast internet connection is crucial, especially for live streaming. I was searching for the best travel eSIM or physical SIM, but choosing the right eSIM provider in Thailand can be tricky, especially when companies don't disclose exact speeds.
After a lot of research I found out that AIS, a leading Thai network operator, reigns supreme in terms of internet speed. Their download speed clocks in at an impressive 36.89 Mbps, while the upload speed reaches a staggering 208 Mbps (median speeds). These numbers far surpass competitors like TrueMove H and DTAC, making AIS the clear winner for live streaming bandwidth.
While some providers like Saily and Airalo offer attractive eSIM plans, their actual speeds remain shrouded in secrecy. I contacted both companies directly, but their responses were vague, emphasizing "good speed" and "unlimited maximum speed" without concrete figures.
After digging deeper, I discovered that AIS consistently ranks as the fastest eSIM internet provider in Thailand. Their website proudly displays their position as the 2023 speed champion.
Internet Speed Testing App OoKla confirmed AIS's dominance. Download speeds averaged around 36.89 Mbps, with some users reporting reaching 50 Mbps. Upload speeds, crucial for live streaming, were even more impressive, with a median of 208 Mbps. This blows away the competition, with TrueMove H lagging behind at 20 Mbps and DTAC falling short at 14 Mbps (median speeds).
The good news? AIS offers eSIM plans! This means you can ditch the physical SIM card hassle and enjoy the fastest internet speeds in Thailand for your travels and live streams.
I recommend purchasing your eSIM directly from AIS or other 3rd party providers before your trip to ensure a seamless travel experience.

Preparing for a class topic ‘Brands, Status & Culture’ reminded me of various emotional ads in Thailand that tell heartfelt stories with impactful narratives. This helps communicate the brand culture and enhance brand images by associating it with positive human values and emotional connectivity without directly selling the products.
[Spoiler Alert: I recommend you watch the ad before continuing]
One of the examples was the ‘Giving’ ad by TrueMove H (a big telecom company in Thailand).
The ad tells the story of a young boy who is caught stealing pain medication from a small pharmacy for his sick mother. The noodle shop owner next to the pharmacy saw the incident so he helped pay for the medicine and gave him soup to take home.
30 years later the shop owner, now an elderly man, got into an accident and needed expensive medical treatment. His daughter was struggling and going to sell the shop to cover the costs.
However, the hospital bill showed that all the expenses had been paid 30 years ago with 3 packs of painkillers and a bag of soup. It is revealed that the doctor treating the shop owner is the same boy who was caught stealing years ago. He decides to cover all the medical expenses as a way of repaying the kindness he received as a child.
The ad ended with the quote ‘Giving is the best communication’ which links the value of the company with its business.
This ad became viral and gained millions of views on YouTube. It is a clear example of how a brand promotes a culture that resonates with customers and creates an emotional connection with them.

Top Mobile Operators in Thailand 2023
Current telecommunications in Thailand started in 1875 with the organization of the main message administration. By and large, the advancement of media transmission networks in Thailand was in the public area’s possession. Government associations were laid out to give transmit, phone, radio, and TV administrations, and other government organizations, particularly the military, actually control a huge bequest of radio and TV spectra. Confidential telecom administrators at first gained concession concurrences with state ventures. For cell phone benefits, every one of the concessions have been corrected by progressive government to most recent 25 years have steadily finished in 2015. 2. NOMAD PROVIDER
Nomad offers data plans in more than 100 countries. Most of Nomad’s eSIM packages currently focus on the Americas, Europe, and Asia and have packages for several regions: global, Nordic, APAC, and Europe.  Nomad is also a great provider to get a Thailand eSim from. Their coverage and speeds are solid as they partner with Truphone and AIS network providers.
Nomad offers a large range of Thailand eSim plans. You have a total of 5 to choose from all of which are for 30 days.
Their smallest Thailand eSim data plan is 5GB for $15 and their largest is 20GB for $30, both of which are reasonable.
Unfortunately, they do not offer unlimited data options at the moment, but this may change in the future.

Airhub is the eSIM store for travellers to access the data at the most affordable, local rates from around the world with the eSIM compatible smartphone, tablet or PC devices, no matter where you are in the world.
Airhub is an eSim comparison website that offers a great range of Thailand eSims for you as given below;
Their carriers include DTAC and AIS, both of which offer great coverage and speeds in Thailand.
The Airhub eSim options are incredibly affordable. Their two best are 15GB/15 days with some free calling minutes for $9 and 30GB/30 days with some free calling minutes for $17.50.

MTX CONNECT IN THAILAND
MTX Connect offers a good range of Thailand eSim options and as a provider, they are both fast, reliable, and have good customer support if anything doesn’t work.
But, I have to say, MTX Connect has priced themselves out of the market with their Thailand eSim options and are much more expensive than most of the other providers featured here.
Their data plans start at 350MB/1-day for $3.67 and go up to 10GB/30-days for $63.15 with 7 and 14-day options in between. This is a lot per GB when compared to the likes of Airhub offering unlimited data for $17.50.
7. MOGO
Mogo is a great provider at first but the more data you use the slower their connection gets, which is a bit cheeky.
Their coverage is great in Thailand and their customer support is good enough, plus setting up their eSim is easy.
But, again, Mogo is expensive when it comes to their Thailand eSim options. Their lowest offering is 1GB/15-days for $4 and it goes up to 30GB/90-days for $60.
While these prices aren’t bad, they are still a long way off the unlimited data plans of the other providers.
