ST Kahlua ‘Kahlua’ horse by Silver Throne Stables - on lease from @lcsporthorses, ridden by Nik Sharpe
19.01.24 Hanoverian Competing for IRE @ the Indoor Derby du Fléau Even with the biting winter chill creeping into the arena, seen in both horse and riders frosty breath and the creeping stiffness in Nika's fingers despite the gloves, the anticipation to dive into their first indoor derby was unmistakable. While the run was far from perfect, Kahlua took to each jump without hesitation.

ST Blume ‘Lily’ purchased from Silver Throne Stables, ridden by Lea Kaestner
19.01.24 Hanoverian Competing for IRE @ the Indoor Derby du Fléau "don't look down, don't look down." it had always been her worst habit. Despite being her favourite, there was just something about drops that always left her a little nervous and unsettled. Lily had no such concerns though, the mare confidently and comfortably landing the jump, turning her young riders brief flare of anxiety into adrenaline-fueled zeal.

Belo A ‘Belo’ on lease from ALTO, ridden by Prue Lindgren
19.01.24 Iberian Warmblood Competing for IRE @ the Indoor Derby du Fléau "it's too bloody cold, why didn't I bring my gloves?!" Prue grumbled. As they approached the first jump, Prue's grumbles faded into determined focus, chill quickly forgotten as Belo moved smoothly under her. Wrestling their nerves as the first jump goes off a bit rough, the second feeling a bit wobbly, but by the third jump the duo has managed to settling into the familiar comfortable rhythm.
