Song Picks-Golden Oldies
#3
“Escape (The Pina Colada Song)” by Rupert Holmes, Partners in Crime: Soft Rock
If you like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain If you're not into yoga, if you have half a brain
Hopefully most millenials have heard this song at least once while growing up. We all grew up knowing only the “piña colada” part and we were satisfied. Released in 1979, this oldie is about the singer losing interest in his lover and reads a personal ad in the newspaper-falling in love with the writer. Turns out when he seeks the writer out, it’s actually his “own lady” and they come to love each other even more. A classic story told through a groovy song.
#2

Lipstick
Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade of Lolita Price: $20 Found at Makeup stores such as Sephora or the Kat Von D Beauty Website
Photo courtesy of the Kat Von D Beauty Website
This liquid lipstick is durable and stays on all day. Through sips from your hydroflask, eating and talking, wearers don’t have to worry about lipstick rubbing onto their teeth or cup.

The Lolita shade looks great on all skin tones–cool or warm, light or dark. This shade is very neutral but it has some complexity and more berry/red undertones to it.

Fairly simple to use, the liquid lipstick comes with a wand that the wearer applies the lipstick with. The liquid does dry quickly and becomes matte, so applying onto the lips and contouring them with the wand usually produces smooth results for individuals with a steady hand.

Another use for liquid lipstick could be eye-liner. If an individual is used to wearing gel liner, liquid lipstick has the same texture–but it dries quickly, so again, having a steady hand is a plus when applying liquid lipstick to your eyes. This product also has a lot of different shades, so there’s many different options in what color you want to line your eyes with.

Song Picks
#3
“Beauty and the Beast” performed by Ariana Grande and John Legend, from the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack: Pop, Disney tunes
Tale as old as time Tune as old as song Bitter-sweet and strange Finding you can change Learning you were wrong
This song was the original score for the animated Disney Beauty and the Beast which was released in 1991. Ariana Grande and John Legend performed this song for the new live-action film version, which will be shown in theaters March 17. Growing up watching Disney films, Beauty and the Beast is a classic for teen-agers and Millenials, so the reprisal of the film and song is admirable and exciting.
#2 “Perm” by Bruno Mars, 24k Magic: Pop
Throw some perm on your attitude Girl you gotta relax, ooh
Bruno Mars most recent album, 24K Magic, has made it’s way to the top of the Billboard Hits as well as many playlists. This album incorporates pop, funk and smooth R&B that makes each song memorable. “Perm” makes the listener want to get up and dance due to it’s enthusiastic and fun beat where Mars sings about cheering a girlfriend up.
#1 “Let Me Love You” by Mario, Turning Point: Contemporary R&B, Pop
You should let me love you Let me be the one to give you everything you want and need
Released by Mario in 2004, this throwback R&B/Pop classic recently made it’s reprisal through twitter after being performed by Mario and Zendaya for the Greatest Hits segment on ABC in the summer of 2016. The lyrics describe how Mario loves a woman who’s in a relationship and that he could love her better than her man does. A major throwback for Millenials, this song would be a great addition to the playlist for the class of 2017′s prom night.
